The new weapon
« on: February 11, 2007, 11:20:25 PM »
OOC: The Reavers of Ryazania are pretty much pirates during peacetime, although a few have been granted marquee(?) by the government to be privateers. This particular ship is full of pirates.

IC:

Aboard King Balor's Revenge, Captain Jon Thatch inspected his newly acquired goods. He had managed to board a weapons transport on its way to Pyke at the armor depot, full of pistols and automatic rifles. He also saw a new firearm he had not previously seen before, and was likely to keep it for himself. He was likely to make a lot of crowns for this particular load. He was hoping to deliver the shipments to some Bustians or possibly Ozians, as he had come across an icebreaker in the Iron Fleet. Instead of deciding on his course, he elected to send out a message on the 'trading channel'.

I recieved a shipment of arms yesterday, and am willing to sell it for 3/4 market value. Here is the list

Pistols: Beretta 93R, Glock 18, Mauser C96, Walther P99, Ruger KP93DAO
Rifles: M16 rifle/M4 carbine, L85A2, Heckler & Koch G36E, SIG 552, M16A2

Also, I have found an unfamiliar pistol and rifle. I am willing to sell it for a compromised price.

When the government fears the people, there is liberty. When the people fear the government, there is tyranny.

Tyrants from Hitler to Mao to Stalin have sought to disarm their own citizens, for the simple reason that unarmed people are easier to control.

Interested.  Willing to buy at 15% market value.

OOC:  If you are selling to a market, it is usually 20% of the retail; sometimes more, sometime less depending on the product.  The market still has to pay for recovery, labor, shipping, storage, etc and then a mark up to include a profit from the products before they are sold to the customer.

With the existance of a free trade market (my nation, where drugs, weapons, among other things are legal), "criminals" from other nations can buy them legally, and relatively cheaply, and only have to concern themselves with smuggling the products pass the border, rather than having to go through domestic channels, and greasing (paying off border agents, customs officals, weapon suppliers, etc) the supply chain, thus increasing the chance of getting caught.
