A shuvel was drove into the ground and then lifted up and the dirt was dumped. A man in a buisness suit walked up to a podium and surveyted the audience. He begain to speek with a husky voice, "Welcome to the ground breaking for Project Access's Freedom Cannal!" The crowed of 3000 erupted in cheers. "You know why we are here and we know why we are here. We are going to build a two canals to conect the coasts. Why are we going to do this you may ask. The answer to that is, it takes to damned long to go around the peninsula," He looked at the corwed and raised a glass of champagne, "Here is to You! and here's to VALIDUS! Now lets get to work!," he gulped down the champagne as the crowed erupted into cheer.

The Government of Gallipoli-China wishes it to be known that no ships will be permitted to pass through Gallipoli-Chinese waters on the way to the Freedom Canal, unless Valideen troops are removed from Gallipoli-Chinese sovereign soil.

"Construction of the canals are on scedual Minister Broswick." said a main sitting in a chair across from teh table that Broswick sat at.

"Good, lets hope it stays that way, eh."

"Mr. President they G-C are threatening to bomb Liberty." said a young man who ran into the room with a memo in hand.

"Hmm. . ." President Malcolm looked towards a man in a Generals uniform sitting on a couch. "What do you think we should do General?"

The General looked over, "I recomend deploying Anti-aircraft Batteries and radar stations. For instance we could deploy a string of Skygaurd mobile multi-tracking radar units along with the 3rd ADATS troop, and a couple of Patriots."

"Do it," Ordered the president.

"We have cleared the canal construction zone, north to south and Construction in the north of both Freedom and Liberty is on schedual. Construction should be compeleted with in 2 years time. Mr. President."

"Good, keep me posted on everything,"

The Third Fleet, consisting primarily of aircraft carriers, their escorts, and the only battleship in the Gallipoli-Chinese navy, drew ever closer to the Liberty Canal site.

"Okay, people.  Our intel says they've got top-of-the-line defensive mechanisms; patriots, skyguards, the lot."

"I thought those were experimental."

"Apparantly, they got them first.  Now, we're going to open the bombardment with useless slag, then after an hour or so, we'll begin using live ammo."

"Yes sir."

"Well?  Do it!"

There was a scream that flew over the beach. "What the hell was that?"

"Fuck! Sounds like Artillery. Looks like they are going to try an invasion!" He looked out of the makeshift bunker on the sandy shore bellow. "Get me Area Command."

OCC: Skygaurd is a mobile Radar system.

"MR. PRESIDENT!" Yelled an aid who ran into his office. "The *Breath* Gollipoli *Breath* Chinese *Breath* Have attacked *Breath* Liberty!"

"Calm down son, have some water." The President turned to his Chief of the Defence Staff. "General, what should we do."

"Retaliate, we thought this could happen when they made their threat so I ordered General Ramser, feild commander for all forces involved in Rickover, to prepare a counter attack. He should of recieved this information by now and should be in the process of doing that as we speak."

"Ok General." The President turned to his chief Intelligence officer who had just entered the room, after the aid. "James, were are they shelling us from?"

"It appears tehy are shelling us from ships Mr. President, located off the coast north of the Liberty Canal."

The President turned to a man dressed in a white naval uniform. "Admiral, sink their ships."

"Yes Mr. President," said the Admiral enthusiasticly.

***Abboard the IVS Queen Joanna***

"You want us to destroy them?"..."The fleet is ready"..."Copy, out." The woman who was holding the handset put it down. "Ok listen up. There is a G-C Fleet shelling Liberty Canal. This fleet is going to sink them. Give me fleet wide."

"Aye Captain." Said a young ensign. "Fleet wide, ma'am."

"This is Captain Dresdain of the flagship. We are going on a hunter killer mission, to destroy a G-C Fleet which is attacking Liberty Canal Project. All orders will be sent down from CIC aboard the Queen Joanna, over."

All the ships responded with an awknologment. "Ok, Sound Action Stations, fleet wide." A siren was sounded throughout the vessel as men and women started running through the halls, some half dressed.

The Fleet started steaming West-North-West from Carlton Naval Base.

OOC: Please do all you can to destroy my fleet.

IC: The original path of the canal could still be seen, but now it was pitted and cratered by the sheer number of shells, missiles, and bombs that had hit it.  The Valideens had estimated two years; the canal would now take seven years to repair and complete at least, especially since most of the equipment had been destroyed in the first few minutes.

But now things looked less rosy.  A new fleet appeared on the radar, and IFF identified it as Valideen.  They had assumed that they would be able to withdraw, and almost all of their ordinance was used up bombing Liberty.  They would have to call for reinforcements, and in the meantime, launch a strike.

"Petty Officer Issland, prep the Ice Breaker Missiles. I want to have a fireing solution on all their Cappies in 5 minutes." Ordered Captain Dresdain.

"Yes Ma'am. Opening deckside launch tubes now." Out the front window of the bridge it could be seen 10 missile tubes opened up, with missiles moved up into firing position. "Locking on Targets Captian."

"Ok, do not fire untill I give the order."

OOC: The Ice Breaker missile is a long range ship board (500nm) missile which is designed to fly near the water to decrease its radar or to remove it from radar completely, and is designed to strike at teh water line of enemy vessels. It can penitrate 450mm or armoured platting, and after the initial impact the warheads 2 second timer is activated and then it detonates inside the ship. It is Radar Guided.

" Ready four. FIRE!" yelled the captain and with a push of a butten the front of the vessel was clouded with exhaust smoke from the rockets.

"Missiles away ma'am." stated Issland.

The missile flew 6 meters off the surface of the water, four in total.

"Captain, G-C warships eploying anti-missile systems inclusing CIWS." stated Radar Office Sub-Lieutenant Mikens. After a 10 second pause, "Splash Missile two ma'am." two seconds later, "Splash Missile three," the four seconds that followed were nail bitting. "Direct Hit! Missile One and missile four!"

"I want Sat image ASAP." It took a few seconds but the Satalite they had positioned over the area had captured images of the impact. Each missile had struck its target.

OOC: G-C you can pick the ships which got hit, however they must be large captial ships (Crusiers Battleships and Aircraft Carriers)

Both of the aircraft carriers were damaged; the Invincible was listing horribly to port, while the Redoubtable had massive holes through her flight deck.  Both were unable to launch aircraft, though only the Invincible was in any danger of sinking.

The lack of armament was taking its toll on the Gallipoli-Chinese fleet; the battleships were able to get off only a few good volleys before running out of missiles, and the cruisers were saving the few they had left.  Nobody had thought to bring adequate supplies to stave off a counter-attack of this magnitude, and now the fleet was being pressed towards the shore.

"Fire the remaining Volley. Tell the Uganda and the Hermit to engage subsurface targets."

6 missiles launched up from the front deck and flew towards the enemy fleet.

"Captain, Ma;am, missiles inbound. Activating AMS. Missiles inbound to Queen Joanna are splashed, 3 direct hits  on the Prince Ruster, reports coming in."

"Ma'am, Ice Breaker's 3 and 5 have splashed. 1 is a miss. 2, 4, and 6, are direct hits."

"Copy, Lets get this fleet moving. I want them surrounded and sunk before this day is out. Understood?"

The bridge let out a unaminus "Yes, Ma'am.

They were pushed so far towards shore now that the submarines could no longer be effective.  Cruisers and subs were punctured and sunk by the Valideen volley that made the skies shriek their admonition.
