Kujsk Air Show
« on: September 19, 2007, 01:51:08 PM »
This year the delfian air show was in Kujsk, and it started with the airplane where the foreigners came doing good bye maneuvers. Needless to say it was an experienced pilot of TAD Air Delfos, one of the fleet's planes: Airbus 310-300

At the Kujsk Air Show, the Loyanese Veterans Flight Group are present with five A6M Crossfire single-prop fighters. The group consists of veteran pilots from the early days of the Loyanese Air Arms. The roster includes former LAA Crossfire pilot, Dai Shu Fong, who's Red Star squadron was the only Crossfire equipped air unit to fight in combat during the Ryon Conflict several decades ago.

The LVFC entertains the crowd with an acrobatic dogfight. E-102 is flown by former LAA pilot, Dai Shu Fong.

The A6M Crossfires were the first fighter planes ever to be built and flown in combat by the LAA during the air force's early days. The single engine fighter was designed by the Loyan Aerospace Institute with technology bought from Saletsia. While obsolete for it's time, the Crossfire conducted vital patrols and maritime reconnaissance during the first few years of the LAA. They were succeeded by twin engine LF-33 Firestorms, but continued to serve in active duty for many more years. The last A6M was retired five years ago after five decades of service in the LAA, replace by turboprop IA 58 Pinstrikes in the light combat/recon aircraft role.

X-133 is the only military variant of the Crossfire flying at the air show. The other four are civilian replicas built by the Anyia Aerospace Institute. Military variants of the Crossfire were either scrapped or donated to historic establishments.

In the Ryon Conflict, Crossfires from Li Yai's Red Star squadron flew ground attack missions against enemy formations. Modern anti-aircraft weapons and aircraft severely limited their deployment, but the squadron was renown in their close support role with the LA. They earned the nickname "Red Roses" among Army soldiers over the length of the conflict. After Ryon, Crossfires continued to serve in the maritime reconnaissance role, gradually replace by modern EWACs a decade later. The A6M survives today in the form of the LTA-22 "Crossmark", a highly upgraded version of the military variant, now in use as a low cost trainer aircraft in the LAA. The Crossmark features a new 1100 hp turbocharged engine, improve electronics, and a titanium alloy airframe.

"Hey they are good, aren't they?"
"Sure are, every pilot here must be between the best of Taijitu."
"What's this noise?"
"Ah look, the Delfighter Typhoon!"

General Cuetlachtli rarely had the chance to break from his work in recent years.
Also this trip to Delfos was a business trip he also considered it a kind of vacation.
As the Terrangar Naval Air unit`s „Comets“ sweeped overhead performing a „double barrel roll“ only 150 feet above the ground he walked amongst the static display. Stopping here and there he snatched a drink from the exhibitors booth`s and got into some business talk about what was new on the market. He was looking for Trainer aircraft, combat helicopters and anti-ship missiles. But he also took some time of to visit the Loyanese Veterans Flight Club and take a look at their beautiful vintage birds. And of course get into some „Tech-talk“ with their pilots.
Also the Delfian fighters had caught his eye and he had closely watched their maneuvers to estimate both, the ability's of pilots and aircraft.
Behind him the Terrangan pilots ended their display under the applause of the spectators, as they touched down on the runway.

The power we hold comes from our citizens.
And they may take it away as well.

ooc: remember, no armed aircraft, armament can be exposed but not armed and under my security, i don't want any incidents.

Microphone boosts up after the Terrangar aircraft landed:
"Could you tell us the next aircraft?"
"Sure can, the next aircraft is the Ku-24 Rafale, produced in Kujsk by the Zabid Missile Industry aircraft complex, made along the Delfighter Typhoon, actually have allot of compatibility. It's like a married couple."
"Why is it a good airplane?"
"Ah well, first it's because it's made in New Delfos, Zabid Missile Industry seems to have acquired some tech back then and developed several projects for this kind of fighters. The Typhoon and Rafale have different offices working on, the Delfighter office came apart from Zabid Missile Industry but most of the parts are from ZMI. While Rafale is mainly built by this great industry it has great engine performance and weapon load. And i don't like to call it an airplane, Rafale is a sexy woman with wings (Saletsia, this is for you), she's the Elysee of aerodynamics."

"And seems she wants to take off, let's watch the show!"
"Sure can."
