Pach: Just because we're staying in the same hotel doesn't mean that we're gonna be with each other the entire time. It doesn't mean we came by the same plane either. So I think I'll leave it as it is.

After a first night in the Xyraeli Quarter, Carlos decided to move. Wandering deep into Istanbul was sweet, seeing all those buildings, fascinating culture. He bought quite a few stuff from the all-selling-men, although he had this idea that most of those goods were stolen. The IPO Observers department had their way to pay everything, they gave Carlos allot of money and allot of planned traveling, that frankly, Carlos wouldn't walk that path. He would rather make "cross-country" into the population. He had some room booked in a fancy hotel, but he chose to go to some residential. He only knew the basics of the language spoken there..it would be hard at the beginning, but Carlos already prooven to be a good learner when it goes to languages. He found some bar, maybe they had a place to sleep, or knew one. After reaching the Bar tender, who immediately got scared for the obvious look of foreigner.
*this is supposed to be spoken in your language*
Carlos: "You-knowledge-room-sleep?"
bar tender: "What are you saying?"
Carlos: "I-urge-bed, to-sleep. You-possess-room?"
Carlos: «damn it, this will be hard.»
Asil Keyder looked up from the glass he was polishing.  Seeing that this foreigner, whoever he was, actually wanted a room, he put the glass on the bar and gave him his full attention.  Foreigners didn't usually come into this part of the city; most stayed in the luxury hotels of the Xyraeli quarter.  The fact that this one, who must have a huge amount of cash in order to get into the country in wartime, would choose to stay at the two-star Hotel Yunus Emre, was immediately suspicious.

"Yes, we have rooms," he said, "come with me."  In walking out from behind the bar, however, Asil knocked over the glass.  He swore violently as its fragments sprayed all over the floor.  Composing himself, he turned to the foreigner.  "I have to clean up, go find Manager Irem."

Carlos: "Many-Thank-You"
Carlos payed full attention to the swearing...some more words difficult to understand but probably very useful in the future. He did understand "find Manager Irem", whoever Irem was. Tried not to step on the broken glass of the floor and passed through some corridor finding a door without any inscription suggesting to be a bathroom.
Carlos: "Irem?" Trying to pronounce as best as he could.

There were actually two Managers Irem, Maria and her husband Bulent.  Both were in their office when they heard the knock at the door; before either of them could get to the door, their young daughter Yasmine had run over and yanked it open.  Bulent gave his wife an amused look and walked slowly over to collect his daughter.

After a few words of reproach, he turned to look at the visitor.  Apart from being white, the man was very nondescript: he was of medium height and slightly lean build, with dark hair and clothes of muted colors.  His face carried an expression of reflection and watchfulness.  "Yes, what can we do for you?" Bulent asked, stepping out of the office and shutting the door behind him.

OOC: if you haven't guessed by now, the RPs for my country are very slow. :trout:

IC: "Yes, we have rooms.  We also have phrasebooks," commented Bulent dryly as he led the guest to the registration desk.  "You'll have to fill out a registration card before I give you your key," he continued.  As they passed the bar Bulent shot Asil a significant look.  Asil had been reading a thin volume bound in red cardstock.  As soon as he saw Bulent's look he immediately stowed it in the inside of his jacket and resumed sweeping vigourously, though by this time any remnants of glass had been removed from the tiled floor.

Gladly the Registration card has Inglish translations. Carlos wrote down everything, avoided giving too much info. «Business trip? sure!»
While handing over the paper, Carlos looked at Asil. He was very curious about his book, but it wasn't time to ask. If he was right, Asil wouldn't like to share his readings with any stranger. Was it worth the risk asking? If Asil wouldn't share he might never share anything else, and that residential looking place was perfect to start investigating. No, it isn't worth yet. There were some small city maps near post-cards in a corner. Carlos picked in one and gave a coin to Bulent.
Carlos: "For-map...Can-I-see-bed, please?"

Chief Chipahua had woken up early this morning.
He and his men had a small breakfast and short mission briefing after which they left the building.
They started off with visiting a few interesting places they picked of the map.
After a while the group started to fall apart one by one one wandering off in random directions.
They began looking for obviously displaced people, stopping here and there to buy something and start a small talk with the locals.
They kept an eye out for police presence and the overall behavior of the people.
Were they scared? Trying to avoid strangers at any cost?
More than once after having talked to a citizen they walked off only to turn around the corner and see if anyone else talked to the same person.
Let's see if the secret police is tracking us putting pressure on the people.

OOC If I wittiness or hear anything you have to tell me. Especially I am looking for people who are out of  Tekirdag (Refugees)
The power we hold comes from our citizens.
And they may take it away as well.

The first day of Collosea’s mission in Gelibolu had risen. Stavros’s hopes of quickly getting to work were dashed when Eucratides announced that they would be spending the day at the beach instead.

Eucratieds led the team out of the hotel the long way, taking special precautions not to make contact with the team from Terrangar. “If we see any of them, let me do the talking.” He told them as they left their rooms. The team saw the Terrangans, but they must not have seen the Colloseans because they didn’t speak or make any gestures to the team as they left.

Nobody had said a word since leaving the hotel. Eucratides (naturally) would be the one to break the silence. “Hey Stav, are their any nude beaches in Edirne? I figured that while we were here we…”

“We’re not on vacation, you know!” Stavros exclaimed, not really wanting to know how he was going to finish that sentence. “Besides, there aren’t any nude beaches anywhere in Gelibolu.”

“Well, damn.” Eucratides said disappointingly. “You know Stav, you shouldn’t be such a stick in the mus. Ain’t that right, Nik?” Nikos only gave a slight nod. Stavros ignored that statement completely.

Nobody in the team really agreed with Eucratides on simply ignoring the job they had been given. However, a sort of “nationalist pride” embedded in them by the Second Civil War and the Expatriate party’s reforms made them believe Eucratides when he told them that “the nation comes first. Keeping Xyrael strong is in Collosea’s best interests.” This compelled them to follow Eucratides, despite what their morals may tell them.

This compelled them all, except Stavros.

They had rented lounge chairs and umbrellas once they got to the beach. Agatho, Pytheas, Nikos, and Theodorakis between time out in the water and time on shore playing volley ball.

Eucratides and Stavros spent their time lounging and catching rays. They spoke little to each other, and when they did, it was usually only Eucratides talking and it usually amounted to "I'd do her."

Stavros was deeply disturbed by their actions... or lack thereof. They came to mingle with the populace and dig up dirt that would lead to the war mongers releasing their grip on the land. He absolutely dispised Eucratides, that facist pig, for even suggesting that the nation was more important than the well-being of the people who live here.

Stavros had decided. If the rest of them wouldn't do the job, then he would alone. Only problem was getting away without being seen, especially by Eucratides.

He spent a good 15 minutes plotting his escape, but to no avail. Then it was as if they had all plotted for him... Stavros heard a rumble over the roar of the waves. He turned to the direction the sound was coming from. He found Eucratides sleeping like a baby; the rumble being his snoring. Not long after discovering this, the four detectives, fished out one beer a piece, and began walking down the beach."

Once they were out of sight, Stavros realized that he was essentially alone. He jumped up and began speed walking to the dressing room, but not before grabbing his duffle bag... and a wad of bills out of Eucratides's.

The next day, Carlos walked in bar for the breakfast. He saw the young guy from the previous day with the red book. He was sitting near the bar and just a few old costumers were in the back of the room drinking something in large cups, probably tea.
Carlos: "Hello?"
Asil: "Good Morning, how can i help you?"
(he can attend costumers, can't he?)
Carlos: "I would like to know what those chaps are drinking, maybe i would like some too."
It was really clear Carlos had been studying his phrase book given by the IPO.

OOC: yes he can.

IC: chaps Asil thought.  He's obviously not from around here.  Despite this, he bustled over to the back of the bar, where he kept the coffeepot.  The finely ground coffee was expensive, and wasn't used often, particularly now, with the supply from Ozia and Haedera cut off by war.  Maria would chastise him later for using it, but it would not do to give this man tea.

Asil poured water into a small plaster cup, and then addedtwo heaping teaspoons of the coffee and one levelled teaspoon of sugar.  He put the cup on the stove to boil, and then moved back to Carlos.

"The kahfe will be ready in a few minutes."
