Exercise Valiant Trillium

"30 Seconds," stated an omnipotent voice that came out of a speaker on the front wall of the cabin. Everyone inside unbuckled from there seats and grabbed onto a one of two bars that hung from the middle of the roof. There was a soft thud that could be heard throughout the cabin.

There was a jolt then the sound of metal griping rock. The light above the rear door went from Red to green and it lowered quickly. Suddenly the soft thud turned into a thunderous pounding as close to 140 amphibious tracked vehicles, known as Landing Assault Vehicle - Tracked (LAV-T), started firing on machine gun emplacements.

The Marines ran up towards the tide wall that ran across the beach. Nearly 1200 Marines assaulted the beach.

"BRAVO, LETS GO! LETS FIND A WAY OVER!" Yelled a man who was standing with his rifle held in the air. He ran down the tidal wall, followed by a number of other men, who were in a crouched run after him. All of a sudden a Machine gun opened up on the moving Marines, and a large number of them fell to the ground.

"FIRE AND MANEUVER!" yelled an older man who was looking through the sight of his C7A2 assault rifle. He took an aimed shot, the Machine Gun went silent.

A LAV-T ran over the wall, opening a shallow path for the infantry to follow.

"Move!" The infantry funneled towards the opening created by the armored beast. Being covered by the loud thumping of its gun. A company of rifle infantry reached the end of the sandy gravel. and the beginning of the grass. They moved down into the trench system set up by the Army. A group of Army Soldiers came out of a bunker and engaged the Marines, eliminating five of them before being taken out.

The Beach was broken as more Marines made it into the trench system. LAV-Ts moved up with the advancing infantry crossing over Trenches like they were mere potholes. Army tanks had set up emplacements and began engaging the Marines Armour, but Wire Assisted Anti-Tank Missiles (WAAT Missiles) took out these threats soon after discovery. Just a mere thirty-six minutes after landing the Marines had managed to take out gun and tank emplacements, and remove the Army from their positions. They have established a Beach Head.

"WHO ARE YOU!? WHAT ARE YOU DOING?! WHAT DID WE EVER DO TO YOU!?" Commander Richard Sharpe yelled into the megaphone. The tide wall, everyone knew, was nothing of the sort. Flamaca-Nisomia was a landlocked country, with barely a lake to hold back. No, it was just a nickname that had become internationally known, as a way to keep back the "tides" of invaders that tried to have a stab at FN's numerous resources. Luckily, defending the Tide Wall, was FN's most elite unit, with one of the world's most efficient air forces on call. These men had no chance.

Ben Falkirk sighed as he reloaded. Why did Sharpe always insist on using the megaphone? It wasn't as if they were going to answer, and many of the invaders didn't understand a word of Flamacan or Nisomac. As he sprayed another round into the coming wave, he thought about what would happen if he didn't say those words. The motivation of defending innocence always put the troops into a sort of buzz that allowed them to hold back most forces. These guys were different, though. They seemed to genuinely know what they were doing, and seemed as though they had trained to get through walls. Enough pondering for now, he thought. He could have sworn he heard the sound of explosives being set up. They were literally trying to get through the wall. Falkirk, being the only certified artillery operator on the tour, rushed to the mortar. He needed to take out their vehicles. With any luck, there would be reserve forces waiting for an order, and their explosive stockpiles. He looked in the thermal scope. Sure enough, his hunch was right. The amphibious vehicles were still running, and it was like finding a smudge of dirt on a bright white rabbit. He loaded the mortar, set the targeting computer, took one last look at the vehicle, and fired..

**Defence**

"INCOMING!" yelled a man looking through the binoculars. He could see out on the water, a large number of landing vehicles. He pressed a red button on a wall beside him. A loud siren went off and soon the trench system was alive with soldiers running to their posts.

Anti-tank guns, missiles, and machine gun nests were alive and waiting. Soon the approaching amphibious vehicles opened fire on the emplacements. Taking many of them out before reaching the beach.

"TAKE COVER!" Yelled a man who dove behind a cement wall, popping over it only to shoot down at the beach.

The LAV-Ts pinned down the army infantry, as the Marines broke through the tidal wall.
