Bring in the Money
« on: June 12, 2007, 11:22:49 PM »
Governor Suko of Alerska looked over the budget for the upcoming year. It was rather dim, his state had been hit hard in late with recession and needed fresh income. Alerska was the only state dominated by the native people of this land every other held some majority that came form other lands. Damn... The other states sure as hell weren't going to help. With out any coast line they didn't have any hope for good beach tourism, and with Three states just legalizing gambling their went that source of income...

He pulled up a map of the world, it helped him from time to time...

"Brilliant... I GOT IT!!"

He quickly turned and buzzed up his assistant "I need to you get to our PR department, we need to do an international ad campaign. I'm going to try and increase international tourism to this years cultural festival at least 500% to make up for and surpass the income lost by the Gambling Industry"

"Yes sir"

He leaned back with a grin... Bringing in the money always felt good.

ooc: this is just a start thread following the smallest of the 13 states, feel free to rp tourist from your nations coming to see the sites and stuff. We got amusement parks musical places historical sites the entire deal. Only laws are No Weapons, foreign plants and animals and most narcotics are illegal. Follow those and we have very open borders to tourism.

The Governors people worked night and day on the ad campaign to be launched on any international media outlets they could get. They were going to let the world know about their festivals. They showed pictures of Traditional belly dancers, massive amounts of food and fireworks. It would be an experience like no other.

They would bring in the tourist dollars from all over the world who would come and see the culture of the Native People of these Lands.

Takasia is highly interested in tourism development of your country. We would like to see if investors of our nation can help developing the infrastructures and facilities that will boost the tourism industry of your nation.

Our kingdom would like to suggest a promotional campaign of "Visit UFS Year" in Takasia, while a reciprocal campaign of "Visit Takasia Year" will be held in your country. These shall boost the tourist and cultural exchange between our nations.

Last but not least, you may wish to launch a promotional campaign using one of the most popular paper in Taijitu - The Sun. (OOC: You will have to write it, though)

We wish you success in your promotional campaign, and we are looking forward to positive feedback for our proposals.

We will look into doing this. Some states are more worried about sending potential tourist dollers to a forign nation while others are rather sure they will bring more in then send a way. It will have to be presented to the General Assembly before we can commite the diffrent states to this cause

Slowly the plans came together. Act and attractions were lined up for the events. This would help his state bring in a lot of tourist dollers.
The request for extra military police from other states to be rented for security had been accepted. The govener would not allow any damn millitents to ruin this event.

A group of 17 Saletsian tourists where roaming the streets, they made up the largest group of Saletsian tourists ever being to UFS despite the Saletsian Governmen's warning to its citizens not to visit a currently instable country such as the UFS.
Julia: "Look at those dancers, mom. Really excellent!"
mother: "Yes dear.." she whispers:"Look at those men over there! Bloody handsome beasts!"
Julia: "MOM! Please! We're not in our city here, do behave..."
mother: "Oh come on! We're on vacation. Let's have some fun. And be sure not to come back alone tonight!"
Julia: "Oh mother..."

The group then went into the places of attraction and spend lots of money on different events.

The Alerskan Festival was doing great with tourists from around the nation and globe arriving. This was just the begining they still would try and attrack more. The Inuit peoples unique culture was on display to help bring money in to the very poor state.

Military police from the Commonwelth of Jansi and Alliwood were aiding local MP's in keeping sure that no militants interfeared and so that the international tourists, their prime objectives, were safe and happy.

Cassius Grim walked about the Alerskan Festival for a while and was bored out of his skull they call this a festival, we have more action in a single hour of the love festival.... but at least theres lots of pretty girls. he went down an alley away from the crowd. when he reached the halfway point a man with a knife told him to give up all of his money. Cassius however was not one to allow himself to be bullied. he calmly walked up to the man tok his knife and beat the man senseless eventualy carving a few words into the mans chest with his own knife...

I SHALL NOT STEAL

...returning to the festival Cassius found a bar that suited his tastes went inside and settled down with a group of attractive females and a cold drink. life was pretty good.

The governor grinned as he looked at the numbers, this was a vast shoot to the arm for the economy. “ Maybe with this we can build a new free clinic or university.us My re-election is a shoe in."
