Angel of Death

"It's been customized thoroughly," Dr. Kim explained to Angel, "The original suit from Loyan wasn't half what this was." He gestured towards the suit.  The suit was completely black, and covered the entire body, including a tinted plexi-glass faceplate.  It appeared to have a breath-mask built into it, making it look vaguely like a space-suit of some kind.  "We added the limbs, most of the helmet, the gloves, the paint job...just about everything except the torso." Dr. Kim continued.  "It's all Type IV armor, it could stand up to an armor piercing bullet at fifteen yards, though we haven't tested that too extensively, so I'd still be careful.  And of course, all the weaponry came either from the army or from our own weapons labs.  The M16A4, with M320 under barrel grenade launcher, is from us, as is the Desert Eagle sidearm, the grenades, the bowie knife...the usual Soldier X arsenal.  Your M93 sniper rifle has been brought along, which should be obvious given the nature of your mission.  The mask has been dropped from your arsenal for a very simple reason; it's now built into the helmet of your armor.  And the armor is also completely air-tight due to several layers of chemically resistant material in between the armor and the fabric on the inside.  This last part is very, very important because of a new addition to your arsenal."  Dr. Kim handed Angel a canister that looked vaguely like an overtly thick can of bug-spray.  According to the label, it was a chemical weapon.  "Be very careful with that," Kim said, "It's Novichok nerve gas.  It can get past a standard chemical protective gear, it is undetectable to standard chemical detection equipment, and until you push the red button at the top there, the contents are considerably less harmful and which are almost certainly not lethal if released.  We intend you to use it in case a mission goes wrong and you can't get the target out of wherever you find him or her, you can drop this and complete the secondary objective with maximum PR effect."
"Nerve gas?  Didn't Hanshen say this was banned by the IPO?" Angel asked, handing it back to Dr. Kim.
"Not yet it's not." Kim replied, "Which is another reason why completing your mission quickly is very important.  If this nerve agent does get banned and you get traced back to our organization, it could have some very bad repercussions for us."
"Right," Angel said, "But about the nerve agent itself, you said it's precursors are almost certainly not lethal?"
"Well, yes," Kim began, but he was cut off by Lt. General Chakrun.
"Almost is going to have to do, because you don't really have a choice as to whether or not you carry it.  That's my decision." Angel was still not sure how this man had earned Daichi's respect.  He never missed an opportunity to flaunt his control over Soldier X and the Cantrian Weapons Labs.  "Suit up, Angel, the Juggernauts are ready and you're leaving ASAP."
"Yes, sir." Angel said, and turned to start putting on the armor.  As she picked it up, she noticed that it had been customized to her, complete with her emblem, an angel, on the right shoulder and the Soldier X legions number, XIII, on the left.  The thought stirred up old memories of what Ember had said upon discovering that his suit had been similarly customized.

Cantrs Q department has outdone itself again.

This place is colder than Ft. Loni. Angel thought, and it was true.  This close to the Canadian border, Dysanii was like a block of solid ice.  It didn't help that Angel had been living in the perfectly temperate Cantr City for the past couple months, and had been living in either the equally temperate Drakonat City or the very hot Ren'allar for the past several months.
The Juggernauts and Angel had flown over the Hispanic Continent and then through Utaia to Dysanii so as to avoid trouble with all the foreign blockades on Dysanii.  They had set up camp about two hundred fifty kilometers east of Kingston.  This would be their base of operations, where they would return to upon the completion or failure of all of their missions on the continent.  It was well hidden, well stocked, and, well fortified with barbed wire, machine gun nests, and mines.
The first platoon was taking the current watch.  The second was crowded around Angel as she laid out their first mission.
"Operation Copper King," she began, "is an assassination job.  The targets are the rebel leaders in Copperville, Rhodes, and Alexandroupolis, including the Emperor if they manage to free him.  Because we are already outnumbered by more than one hundred to one by the Imperials, we have little to lose from splitting our forces.  Thus, we are going to send Squad A to Copperville and Squad B to Alexandroupolis, and both C and D to Rhodes.  The first platoon is staying here to guard the base.  We're flying completely blind here, so the first objective is to figure out the terrain, who these rebel leaders are, and where we'll be able to assassinate them.  The plan is to send someone to each group to act as an envoy from Cantr, feigning to be there to negotiate.  The premise will be an exchange, guns and supplies from Cantr in exchange for some money to be paid later.  Whether or not the negotiations go well is irrelevant so long as the Imperials don't shoot the negotiator.  The point is to get the Imperial leaders out in the open where snipers can pick them off.  Because our numbers are limited, it's imperative that the 'envoy' and all assassins get away, but we won't know how we can do that until we scout the area.  Any questions?"
One of the Juggernauts asked "You only gave a destination for four squads.  Where's the fifth going?"
Angel answered "Squad E is going with me for another operation in a different part of the country.  Any more questions?  No?  Good.  You'll leave in thirty minutes.  Get ready."

"Okay, who here likes being in the middle of a desert waiting to get shot for following your ancient traditions?" Tempest asked the prisoners in the sweltering, Adriannic camp.  All of them were captured pirates.  They stared blankly back at him.  A few of them looked at him with interest, wondering what this was about.  Most of them just lay around apathetically, perhaps figuring that this was some kind of mass interrogation technique.  "No one?  Good.  Because I'm here to offer you a way out."  They were all paying attention now.

"And not just a way out, either," Tempest continued, "But a way to continue following your way of life, to uphold your ancient traditions, and to have the Cantrian government turn a blind eye.  Why?  Because we're not going to pirate off of Cantrians."

"So who are we going to pirate off of?" one of the bolder pirates asked.

"Do you know where the best profits to be made are?" Tempest asked them.

"Rich countries?" the pirate offered.

"No, not rich countries.  Rich countries can afford powerful navies to protect their coasts.  For example, Cantr.  But what about when Cantr was good pickings...why were they good pickings?"  Silence.  "Because they were at war.  So now that Cantr isn't at war, we're going to pirate off of a nation that is.  You do one small favor for my organization and then you're free, you've got your very own island stronghold with a defended military camp waiting for you to occupy it, with a climate friendly to all kinds of drug plants.  You get no interference whatsoever from Cantr as you pillage Canadian lines.  You get your own ships, new ones too, not ones with gaping holes in them.  And one of you, one lucky pirate, will get to be the first Pirate Lord of a new order.  And if the Cantrians keep going like they are, than pretty soon you'll be the only Pirate Lord...which means you'll also be the very first Pirate King in centuries.  But my organization needs that favor first."

"I'm not working for Cantr!" one of the pirates shouted.  A few more loudly agreed.

"Of course not!" Tempest said.  This brought a surprised look to some of the pirates' faces.  "I'm not working for Cantr either.  You see, Cantr likes Canada.  Cantr wants Canada to win this war.  My organization wants Canada to lose.  Badly.  And that, in fact, is the favor we would like to ask of you."

"We're going to Canada?" one of the pirates asked.  A few of them looked unnerved at this.  Canada was freezing, though that was a small price to pay to get their old lives back.

"Yes," Tempest said with a grin, "We're going to Canada."

Upon arriving at the airport in The Imperial City, Sabin is screened before he is permitted to leave the airport. He is screened for various disease threats from his region, for weaponry, and his identification. Upon being identified as an international diplomat, he was carted off to a secure car port where he is made to use black government SUVs and receives a police escort by two motorcycle cops. When he arrived at the gate in Versailles, he was again searched, though lightly because he was a diplomat.

Along the way they faced several Police checkpoints that they had to be screened at.

Hope this helps.

(I am just asking because any large scale smuggling operations out of Christstan will be very difficult as the Empire maintains checkpoints at all border crossings and near docks and airports. This is the use of the Massive Christstany army during peacetime. Forces are slightly lax as some units were called up for the war, but security measures have been increased due to several classified reasons. Also, should these men be found, they will be violently dealt with with no remorse if they attempt any things on Christstanys.

I am not stopping you nor deterring you, but warning you what this rp will entail within my borders.)

Angel of Death (Phase III)

Phase III
It was not easy to get an audience with nearly every rebel leader in Dysanii.  But Liu Hanshen had sent them a message that had gotten the attention of just about all of them.  I know who killed your Emperor.  Of course, Liu also had to agree to meet them, alone, at a location of their choosing, guarded by their men.  But Liu had no intentions of stabbing them in the back.

"Hello.  I am a representative of the Organization.  We have no other name than that.  We need no other name.  We had several operatives in this theater during the Great Border War in order to facilitate your rebellion and keep the Canadians out long enough for you to succeed.  Naturally, upon the assassination of your leaders and, most importantly, your Emperor, we launched an investigation.  The purpose of this meeting is to give you the results of this investigation.

"Obviously, we suspected the Republic, and we were partially correct, but there's more to it than that.  The assassin himself was a Cantrian, a part of the delegation sent to you in order to supply you with weapons and training, similar to the offer made by the Canadian government.  Cantr, however, is not guilty except in that they hire easily corrupted foreign officials.  The man was paid a large sum by the Republic to kill your Emperor."  Liu handed them a photocopy of a message from an official of the old Republic, offering nearly eight million dollars for the assassination and warning him that he was not the only one they'd contacted; only one assassin would get the bounty.

"The other assassins contacted all either turned down the contract or else were not able to get to the Emperors location before the Cantrian successfully completed the job.  We are quite certain that only this Cantrian was involved in the assassination.  However, there's more.  He received a similar offer from a government I'm sure you weren't suspecting." He handed them another photocopied message.  The signature it bore was none other than that of Imperial Regent Selene.

"This message was also sent to the Cantrian, offering an additional ten million dollars.  The second message was sent several days after the first and that is why we believe these two governments were, in fact, working together on the assassination.  The second message was sent to convince the assassin to go ahead with the plan, and to convince him that he would not be incriminated as an assassin by either government if he completed the job. This message would also explain why Dysanii experienced such great success in the early stages of the war.  Naturally, if these two governments were conspiring, we can only assume that whatever portion of Dysanii Canada ends up controlling will just be another incarnation of the Republic, perhaps even with some of the same leaders.

"Fortunately, we believe you can trust the Allied forces and the government they will set up in East Dysanii, and we believe you can also trust your old enemy the Democratic States of America.  Although they were once the allies of the Republic, they only allied themselves because they shared a common enemy in the form of Canada.  You now share the same common enemy.  Further, the Organization has some influence in the DS, and we believe we can use that to ensure that they can be trusted as your ally.  On top of that, the Organization has extensive influence in several countries throughout Taijitu.  This will give you some trans-continental allies.  And, of course, if you are willing, the Organization will work directly with you to ensure that all of Dysanii is freed from Canadian imperialism.

"I'll leave you to discuss what I've told you.  If you desire, I can provide you the original version of both messages.  I'll return tomorrow, to hear your decision.  Good day, gentlemen."

With that, Liu Hanshen left the room.

Phase I
Christstan was put on full alert following the last batch of men arrested with military grade weaponry. From various papers found on their person they should have just been regular craftsmen and people, but what they possessed said otherwise. After the last men commited suicide, the Christstany government feared that there was a terrorist movement going on inside their nation. The Emperor would not deal with it. He had the men's genetics screened in hopes of finding a common nationality or ancestry. Enough of the men showed up as being of the same people. Granted there were only so many races - but these tests eliminated many places and nations. The Imperial Guard, under the guise of a military organization, was also the Emperor's new secret police and they carried out hyper classified searches and studies. After examining the reports of where and when the men were captured, they determined that the group was from Cantr. Their major justification was when the Imperial Guard - through secretly increased security measures in Airports - caught several men with these weapons arriving from a flight from Cantr. After further examination, it was found that most the men were arrested within 1-4 days after an international flight/ferry from Cantr, a most infrequent event. Since the Christstany government had no free trade agreement deal with Cantr, all international flights were halted as the government had found a few "sick" people coming from Cantr and would wait till medical reports deemed these people harmless.

Slowly all people arriving from Cantr within Christstany borders were tagged in The Imperial Guard's database. Everyone of them would be screened. It would be a long process but necessary to the safety of Christstan. Finally, a negotiator from Christstan called the Cantrian government office to warn them about their diplomat's safety.

*"Hello, this is the Imperial Christstany Government calling you about the presence of your diplomat Sabin in our country. We fear for his safety as people from your nation are now being threatened by mobs fearing a disease we have found coming from your nation. We would like to put him under imperial guard watch for to make sure he was safe."

*Note - the call here is genuine as all Cantrians have gone under fire by the nationals of Christstan for being disease bringers and Christstan wishes to protect him. Inadvertently it also checks his status as a diplomat.

Apparently 100 men, caught an entire fully readied garrison, outnumbering them 10 - 1. Perhaps they were out having a coffee break, but no matter how they did it, that 100 man contingent apparently made it into the untouchable Versailles Palace. Using mini C4 to blow through the walls of the palace, they were causing immeasurable cultural damage to Christstan, by damaging priceless paintings, carvings, and sculptures. Though after breaking into the Palace and eliminating troops that could never have been said to be imperial guard and blowing through the dinning hall, the Imperial guard began utilizing the palace defenses. Soon the camera-mounted poison darts (from some of the various hidden cameras), began hitting the Juggernauts. Then after a few seconds of these rounds, the Imperial guard wearing state-of-the-art battle Armor, mounted M2 Machine Guns behind protective bullet and fire resistant portable metal shields (Think Halo Marines shield except lower for machine guns) from the two hallways near the combat. A violent burst of sound lit the entire palace as those in the hallway were mowed down between the cross fire coming from the north hall and west hall.

As the combat inside the Palace escalated, the combat outside was dying down as more Christstany reinforcements arrived, including the attack helicopters attached to the palace guard. The Pirates were mowed down by the arriving snipers and attack helicopters. Any left surviving surrendered to the oncoming Imperial Guards who subdued them with gases and threats. Then the troops stormed the breach in the palace and surrounded the fallen bodies of the Juggernauts.

If any were surviving, they were quickly restrained using electronic cuffs. The Juggernauts were separated from  their suits and held in containment cells. While their suits were being reverse engineered, damage to the palace was calculated and all Imperial Family members were called to the bunker. Two people did not arrive, the Grand Duke and Duchess. The rubble and carnage was searched extensively until the unconscious bodies were found.    In severe condition, they were rushed to the Palace medical center until the medical chopper could arrive. They were soon rushed to the closest hospital. There the Grand Duke and Duchess who had been eating breakfast when the attack occurred, rested in severe condition, their fates remain unknown and anti-Cantr sentiment reached its peak as leaks revealed the source of these attacks. Any Cantrians left in Christstan were beaten senselessly as the people mourned for the near loss of the Grand Duke. The Emperor declared a state of national emergency.

10,000 Men strong, the Empire's finest troops, were deployed around the palace and air patrols scanned the skies constantly. The East wing was being repaired, and the Emperor lived in the west and center. He was furious and had his palace guard captain stripped of his post. Meanwhile all "Security Forces" were replaced by the ones supposed to be guarding the palace, the Imperial Guard.

(I actually never said the darts affected them. The large M2 .50 Cals did that job. Also, while you may have the finest troops in all the land, Versailles is next to a modern fortress when it comes to arms and defenses. As my defenses were blatantly ignored, I allowed it to be for the sake of Rp. For the gaping holes in your plan...

You did no recon on Versailles, had you done so you would have realized that the Palace grounds are kept under tight watch by a 1000 man garrison of Imperial Guards. They may not have the futuristic Type IV Armor, but they are well trained, disciplined and put the mission over their own safety. They compound has a safety bunker for the Imperial Family in case the palace was attacked or bombed.

The Palace has an outer gated rim where the guards and occupation force is located. After breaking through these men, you then hit the actual palace.

Second, using C4s inside a building damages its structural integrity, which could result in a collapse/ you never know who is on the other side of the blast, i.e. the Grand Duke.

Third, doing a direct frontal assault on a heavily guarded area will result in massive loss of life and will give your enemies a great deal of time to run/ gather as you cut through the initial ranks.

Fourth, when attacking a building, it is easy to become hemmed in by your foes who outnumber you in hallways.

Fifth, capturing a head of state in the middle of his headquarters will be most difficult.

Alright, thats what I could find off the top of my head.

(OOC: First, I attempted a recon, but our cover was compromised before I could complete it.  I infiltrated through the palace sewage system because of this; I knew the palace must have one and that I could probably get in it.

Second, we really only need one of your VIPs, and we'd prefer one of the children for PR reasons, and in case you haven't noticed, these Juggernauts are more than willing to die for their cause, so neither collapse nor the death of just one of your VIPs is of any great concern for us.

Third, what part of "distraction" didn't you understand?  The pirates were cannon fodder, the offer made by Tempest a lie; they were all set up to die at Christstany hands as part of Tempests groups infiltration of Versailles.  They were sent to their deaths, Juggernauts included, in order to draw the attention away from Tempest and co.

Fourth, that is what the C4s are for.

Fifth, I know.  This was supposed to be dramatic and cinematic; a story, not a news broadcast.  I notice that, aside from VIPs, you have failed to give even one of your people an actual name.  If you don't have any characters, any real people in your nation, then I will treat them as what they are in a literary context; red shirts and cannon fodder to be fed to the heroes/villains in order to fuel the plot and make them look cool.  I'm not here to learn how to stage a commando assault on Versailles or any other building.  I'm here to tell a story.  To role-play.  What are you here for?

And on top of all that, I asked for these before they were exploited, so that I could RP around them.  I shouldn't have to actually be capable of master-minding the kidnapping of a VIP in order to RP it.  Do you have any reason to completely defuse this entire phase of the RP and take away all of the sinister mystique I've built up for the Organization beyond "my guard is teh PwNz0rS!!11!!1"?)

Quote
At 10:34, a group of nearly a hundred Cantrians was mobbed by nationalist Christstany people less than a block away from Versailles
At 10:35, they ran away as the Cantrians began firing at them with AK-47s which had been hidden, dismantled, within their jackets, at which point the Cantrians turned towards Versailles, found themselves some cover, and opened fire on the guards

No Sewer attack

If you attempt a distraction, you usually want the distraction to pull the enemies away from your men rushing the place your enemies are defending. For example, attack the east wall, then sneak troops around the west.

C4s clear walls, not block hallways. The result is the Juggernauts eating the crossfire of heavy machine guns.

Also I have back read the posts, no request for my defenses. Officers and Leaders are given names, those pertinent and important to the rp.

Finally, I never requested this, nor did I even know what was going on. This could have just been discussed, then we could have set it up and rped it. Sinister in the planning, not execution. Weapons simply purchased in Christstan would have avoided the interception of men. The way in which you assaulted my capital and the bastion of my power, made my troops look like conscripts and crack forces, rather than an organized force. If you wish to stage a dramatic and reckless charge on my palace, expect an equally strong and dramatic reaction.

If you wish to damage my country, you must look at a realistic target - note how no terrorist have hit the white house. They hit the World Trade Centers. These are called "Soft Targets", nonmilitary, vulnerable targets that can cause a great deal of physical and psychological damage to your enemy.  Such as my university. Hitting that would do enormous damage.

I do not intend to sit here arguing with you over the various details, most of this could have been avoided using a smaller first post where I could have reacted to a few of your actions at a time and then create a scene. One mass post leaves to many variables and allows you great control over my forces.

But realistically, I doubt anybody will allow their capital (Which had been put on full alert) to be overcome by 100 men. And by discussion - I mean you say I plan on attacking you with intent to kidnapp, that alright? to which I say yeah! because I am not a total d-bag, no details required. Then you start the Rp with a scene opener, we do some buildup Rp, then at the climax you capture a member of my imperial family (I would have let it be Jordan my princess just to get canada pissed off as well) in some unexpected manner that does not disrespect the look of my  army, nor my people (saying 100 men can take one of the most well defended areas in my country).

Now I am perfectly willing to restart this and allow you more sinister plotting (like killing my limo driver and driving off with my children on the way to school and bottling yourself up in some highly defensive area. I would not be able to attack you, and you could get away. hence a sinister plot largely successful.)
