Algerianbania's Quest for Expansion
« on: May 30, 2007, 11:56:08 PM »
President Jordan Hjuylio stood in front of the House assembled and presented his case. "We are a land locked nation. The profits of sea trade if we expand to the sea would be enormous. Our citizens must pay through the roof for precious metals from countries on other continents. Think of the money we would be saving if we didn't have to buy them Dysanii or Irnotia. Millions. Nay, billions.

"The world is on the brink of war my friends. Without a navy our an air force, Algerianbania will be trampled in crossfire. How will we be able to attack Myoria if they are on Easteros, a whole ocean away. We must get to the sea if we ever hope to have any hope of a suitable defense whatsoever. We must, as our duty to our citizens. We must rally the war pandas, rally the troops, and we must march northeast, in between High Evermore and Irnotia. Once we reach the see we must begin the construction of a navy, and build port towns along the waters edge.

"This is new age. An age of health and profit, and an age when Algerianbania no long has to cower at the feet of other nation, friend and foe alike. To long have we been the small country, never thought of as a realistic military force. That is about to change."

Within 24 hours, the war pandas were geared up and ready to move out. The troop transports were loaded with troops and headed for the boarder.

Takasia Canal A.G. is interested in participating in your quest of expanding to the sea. We would also like to propose a canal from the central lake of your country to the shore.

sincerely,
CEO of Takasia Canal A.G., Gan Rongji

The country of Algerianbania would be pleased if we could receive this gracious offer from master canal builders. I suppose that you know of the area in question. We would request that construction begin immediately, and are willing to provide for any method of payment which you may so desire, as long as it is a reasonable one.

Also, if you are willing to provide assistance in any other fronts, we would be obliged to accept it, especially in the area of air craft to provide for air attacks and reconnaissance on any groups who may with to oppose us.

Thank you.

General Fredrique Suhylino was riding in a jeep on an open field, a convoy of troops behind him. The government had received word that a group of natives in the area, known as the Strip Lands, had banded together and formed some 750,000 people strong, heavily armed and growing everyday. The plan was to lock them into the borders and against the sea, so that they would be trapped and easily dealt with. By splitting up the main force of 1,000,000 into 4 different groups, they would easily conquer the region.

Their routes would be as follows.

One group would head towards Irnotia along the southern border of the Strip Lands. Another will go north along the High Evermore border. In between these two will be two other armies. Once all of the armies have gone as far as their objective states, then they shall head north and meet with one another. This large army would be ready to strip out any last few remaining resistance forces with ease.

OOC: you may want to consider the southern coast instead. Someone has already claimed the northern coast in the map area (link).

OOC: Shit. I will start over tomorrow. I need to get some sleep now. Pure weaksauce. I think that I will head towards Dysanii. Its much shorter than going to Irnotia and my country won't look stupid.  :P

OOC: I will try to build another canal in the north too, once that country is finalized on the map - so we can break the Bustos monopoly, and transform your capital into a busy shipping hub.

How are you going to build the train line to the capital, which lies at the centre of the lake?

OOC: If you look closely isn't that map request actually here?

Furthermore, if Alegerianbania expanded north, far fewer forces would be required than if he had to take the larger area to the south. Just a thought!

ooc: Never mind continue as planned. ty Stell. Deflos and Tak, If I do somehow am able to reach coast-to-coast, I would like the canal to be placed in the northern end, and the railroad to start from the edge of the lake to the western coast. Unfortunately I do not think that that will happen so we can just stick with the canal for now. I will contact you if I will to go coast-to-coast Defl. Tak, how much will this cost? Or is it complementary?

Lieutenant Kwajalyuk rode at the vanguard of the convoy. He had been assigned to the northern most army. They group was approaching a large town, which seemed heavily fortified. Whoever was supplying the resistance groups was supplying them well. There were snipers on the walls and what seemed like men with rocket launchers as well.

Behind him were about 200,000 infantry, 10 artillery units and 5 PFS. The lieutenant called a halt and laid out the assault plan to his other ranking officers. They would use the artillery to bash down the wall, and use the snipers to take out the rocket launchers. Then the PFS would move in and remove as many snipers and other infantry that remained on the outskirts of the city. Then the PFS would move into the city where the main force was likely to be, and drive straight threw it, followed by the infantry, and then the artillery, who would both sweep out and around the entire city, trapping everyone inside, and force them towards the PFS. It was a good plan. Against inexperienced fighters, it would definitely work.

ooc: Battle and updated map tomorrow. Need to go study now. For exams. :P

Takasia Canal A.G. could bear all the construction cost, if it has the right to run the canal. Otherwise, the construction cost will depend on how complicated the construction is. If our company does not own the operation rights, it should go at no less than 300 million Takasky Marks for a canal without locks (subject to terrain) at this distance without pollution control.
