"Don't Keep a Log"
« on: September 17, 2007, 07:34:14 PM »
Quote
Admiral Heougens,

Your direct orders are as follows, to be executed immediately:

Leave Portsmouth, Inglo-Scotia, to sail around the American continent, going south. Sail into the Eastern Seaboard of the Democratic States of America. Anchor 2,500 kilometers from New York Harbor. When you have anchored, fire three Tomahawk missiles into the city. Destroy the Statue of Liberty, and leave for Myroria immediately. Write down your destination, and burn this letter. Following your reading of this an IAEIO agent will swear you to secrecy. When this occurs, clear ALL men off your ship and withdraw your gangplank. Only allow your men back onto the ship when he has finished searching your cabin and swore you to secrecy. Do not keep a log, and give your current one to the IAEIO agent. After the attack, your ship will again be searched to ensure without a doubt that this event is kept under the utmost secrecy. That is all.

From the Office of His Majesty,
Meneldur Tar-Ilium,
Grand Imperial Residence, County Pelagis, Pelagis.

"You are all sworn to secrecy," began Admiral Heougens, the HAIMS Concealment drifting softly on the smooth seas outside New York.

"If any of you tell what happened here, why we destroyed the Statue of Liberty, why we fight, you will be executed. Any of you. Especially the outlanders. Myroria doesn't like outlanders. Especially outlander traitors. We were to leave for Myroria, but it is needed that the Americans assume it it is us. If they attack the Canadians, the Southroners for it, our nation has no reason to liberate these people from the struggle of parties, the tyranny of democracy. Things will get messy." Admiral - or, Patrick Heougens, always talked like this. Build up to a philisophical, dramatic phrase - then ruin it with something like "Things will get messy". That phrase, of course, meant the countless people who would hold up signs outside the gates of the Grand Imperial Residence, "whining and bitching about everything", as the Empeurer put it to a journalist before a press conference. That, of course, triggered whining and bitching.

"Is that understood?" he said to his sailors.

"Sir, yes sir!" they said, some through understanding, and some because they saw on an American movie that's how you'd advance in the ranks of an armed forces.

"Raise your right hand, and repeat after me..."
