Not really no D:

As you can probably tell there was talk of trying a new dynamic out, but then school and work and what not, so that stalled. Though I think we're just short a slightly updated map...

Yah, looks like it. Damn shame. I would have dropped in sooner but have been w/o internet the better part of tehe last year (using my  cell phone to post now lol)

Anyways, had a feeling of nostalgia and wanted to see if there was a region left.

Why is the forum called novmir? I like it, but was just kinda like o.O when I seen it.

Well, Taijitu, after a brief but then stalled attempt at a revival complete with a new constitution and fancy flags and seals, seemed dead so we were considering doing in experiment with RP where there'd be one nation that people could RP individuals and factions and collectively control the in-game nation's issues as part of a political game of sorts. The idea came out of having the regional government run a collectively held nation so they'd have something to do and make the same sort of political game, make parties have a purpose etc, but then that all kinda stalled unfortunately what with being busy with things. So we're kinda in limbo here.

Yeah, I read the new constitution when I got back. Looked pretty good, simple and to the point. I also liked the changes done to the senate, made it seem a lot more meaningful instead of a body which mostly seemed to exist in order to perpetuate itself in perpetuity. Good show to you guys on that.

The RP concept seems interesting, not something I'd really be up for though it reminds me of back when a computer game called SuperPower came out for PC. there was an RP forum set up that worked simliar to y'alls concept.

(and yay for phone as modem android app!)

Are there any current plans for anything? Or are we all just wandering around the ruins reminiscing? LOL

There are no definite plans or timeframes right now. We're just kinda drifting now. Makes me a bit sad and nostalgic thinking about the good old days. Then again, maybe I should stop moping and do something about it. I certainly have wasted a lot of time doing silly things these past few weeks *schemes* Wonder if we could get away with refounding the nation so we'd have a better founder nation for a regional government to collectively run as if I could actually pull that off...

Upon coming back and seeing the state of things, I felt bad too. Since that point, I've spent some time late at night (or at work as a chance to make the monotony go by a bit faster lol) and I feel the same way as you do.

I've got semi stable internet now, between my phone's browser, and a handy phone as modem application i downloaded. The recent RL events i've muddled through have given me a completely new start in almost every area of life. So many things have changed, I find myself wanting some kind of continuity to the past. I suppose that sounds silly, but eh, it is what it is.

No single ONE of us original founders could do what you're talking about. I thought about it myself over the last couple of days, to be honest. But, with a few of us, I think we could maybe pull it off. I, for one, am more than willing to try, if you guys want me on board.

We've got a constitution, as the 3rd one (from the 2nd convention) that is good, solid, and never got it's fair shot to shine. That's over half the work already done. We've got forums, or if need be, we could easily make new ones. No problems there.

The only problem would be convincing the remaining citizens to move to the new region. I give a 50/50 shot of that. Well, and getting enough of the other founders on board to give it a shot.

Whaddya think, praggie?

SD! Wow! Really long time!

I've been lurking around now for a few weeks, but haven't really actively come forward to help in rebuilding of any kind. But I am here, and I am willing to help. I am not around too much as my new job is keeping me fairly busy (does anyone know where I can buy time from?...that would be awesome), but I most certainly am able to get involved when I am around :-)

I'd hate to see this region die completely after we all worked so hard to build it in the first place.

Heya Amy! I know what ya mean, but I feel I should have time enough now to carry my weight. A few different options have been discussed so far. I'm glad to see the forum looking more like its old self. I'll be on MSN later tonight around midnightish my time. if any one is on we can discuss some of the ideas that have been kicked around.

I will be tucked up in bed at that time, but if we can all try to arrange a suitable time to have a discussion I'll definitely be there. One thing we do need to focus on is recruitment to build up numbers and get more people onto the forum. Also, we can use the embassies to our advantage as well.

Yeah, I talked to praggie last night about that. with some of the ns upgrades toaster could be in a state of questionable functionality. toaster 2 is in an unknown state of completion. he said he would try to find out about what needs to be done to get one of them going.

Instead of trying to get everyone's schedule alligned to talk online it may be better if we either use one of the private forums we have. Or set one up.

I don't think there's really anything that could be said that would have to be said privately.

I didn't mean it for the sake of keeping things private, so much as organized. I had figured that something like this, which could turn out to be a bit of an undertaking, may require multiple threads, etc. So it was mostly for the sake of convenience. I suppose I should have said, maybe, "separate".

Ok, so, Pragmia and I chatted again on Sat night, here's where we're at.

With regards to your concerns about Recruitment, Amy, I couldn't agree more. If it's one thing that's shown by the rise and demise of regions, it's one thing. Recruitment is the life blood. With that in mind, a great deal of our conversation has focused around getting Toaster 2 up and running. From what I understand, it's on the way towards being completed to a point of basic functionality, which is what would be needed to start a decently sized recruitment campaign.

The Constitution from the 2nd convention seems like it should work. It was never given a fair shot anyways, so I'd like to see what it can do with regards to being a good backbone of government. I especially like the referendum portion.

Next, we need as many of the "old crew" on board as possible. So far we've  got...

Prag
Elu (elu hasn't fully committed, but he's not against the idea, as I understand)
TCM
SD

I talked to PoD gunner on sun morning, he's going to be away for a few days on business, but he expressed interest as well.

Prag says he's going to talk to myro and see what comes of it, he was optimistic.
Oz is an unknown.

As I told pragmia, I can devote about 3hrs a week min to recruitment. That's a conservative figure. I'm completely free on thursdays and fridays.

Most of what's been done to this point is kicking around ideas and "mustering the troops" so to speak. Right now though, the chances that something can be put together look pretty good.
