FORTRAN

Why do you hate fortran?

I hate fortran because I once worked on C code pretending to be C++ code which was a rewritten FORTRAN codebase. It was a monstrous thing, with weird comment styles and a terrifyingly loose structure.

They should name a painkiller drug like that.
FORTRAN! AND THE HEADACHES KNOW THEY HAVE TO RUN!
Also use as marketing icon. They'd sell like fresh bread!

Fortran 90 I am willing to accept. Its predecessor makes me want to cry, though.

Is it's predecessor Fortran 89?

Never used Fortran, but anything that's even older than COBOL must be bad!  Am I admitting my advanced age by admitting that I have worked with COBOL?   :-P
