As some of us know, Europeia and a number of invader regions have been supporting the New Inquisition's invasion of belgium.
As ambassador to Europeia this was not unexpected or unusual to me: Europeia regularly supports invasions, and even invades, itself. Taijitu's foreign policy has not, historically, concerned itself with whether its friends raid, although I don't believe we've ever celebrated griefing (ejection of native nations).
Last night, however, the New Inquisition's military went and removed the entire invasion force from belgium to the Rejected Realms (another friend of ours) and seized the Delegacy. This may remind some of us of the operation Taijitu did in 2007-- except done without 'civilian' endorsements. Also, the New Inquisition's commander removed the Rejected Realms forum from their World Factbook Entry (something we did not do). Taijitu also made no geopolitical threats or demands of the RR, but TNI has loudly proclaimed that this action was due to the RR's FRA membership and is a warning to all FRA members.
I thought I might see least an annoyed reaction from Europeia, as they have been friendly with the Rejected Realms. Today however I instead found a largely gleeful reaction from their populace and this gem from their president, replying to the previous delegate of the Rejected Realms:
The foreign minister is correct in every way.
When I was notified of the prospect for this operation on a very limited level, I hadn't gathered that our endorsements from Belgium would transfer over. I don't know why that slipped my mind. Had the light bulb went off, maybe we would have withdrew. Maybe we wouldn't have. Either way, we congratulate our closest ally, TNI, for their victory over an organization they are engaged in a declared war with.
As for George, whatever said citizen did or didn't do, they weren't doing it as the result of an order from any ERN official. As that individual wasn't acting as an agent of either government legitimately, the treaty you speak of has zero bearing and their citizenship in Europeia is a non-factor.
As a private citizen, I have this to say. If you don't want to be invaded, continuing behavior that puts you at risk likely isn't an advisable course of action. I wouldn't want to let another region dictate what we do either but that doesn't change the fact that TRR's relationship with the FRA keeps it in danger of invasion where withdrawal would lessen that danger. That's not an opinion, that's a fact. If you want us to be outraged for you and stand up against those mean, mean bullies in TNI...I wouldn't hold my breath.
I am surprised that a President can say something to a diplomat as a private citizen, but nevertheless.
I was less surprised by their Foreign Minister's post (he is a dual citizen with the New Inquisition and has considerable influence there).
With regards to Guy, please limit these discussions to the TRR embassy in the future. If you are no longer a TRR diplomat, then your masking should be removed. However on this occassion I'll answer here:
1) The question of willing participation is both suggestive and redundant. Nations were ejected from Belgium which ERN forces were reinforcing however this does not mean it was willing or complicit on our behalf. Clearly you are just trying to cause trouble by raising this point and I'm not interested in that. Europeia takes no responsibility over the matter and rejects the idea that its participation was planned.
2) The Treaty was considered and it was not implemented for good reasons, namely TRR's membership of the FRA, which is at odds with our allies stance. The fact a non-aggression Treaty was not implemented between our regions means that it would be well within our rights to invade TRR, though obviously I stress again that is not what happenned here.
3) As an aside, the FRA has infringed on the right of self-determination of many regions, including Europeia when it spied and attempted to influence this region, so that argument holds no water. My understanding is this is a single update occupation, and that it is a mere warning to TRR that it's FRA membership places it in risk and thus "complete denial of our right to self-determination" is somewhat an exaggeration. Again though I'd emphasise that this is not an Europeian matter or decision.
To St George:
5) The internal politics of Balder are not our concern. And furthermore I am not aware of any "Balder citizens representing Europeia" being involved in this. Again, who is what in Balder is a matter for Balder.
In conclusion:
Europeia congratulates TNI on it's successful and high profile invasions in the past week, but accepts no responsibility for the raiding of The Rejected Realms, which was not strategically pre-planned with Europeia, and thus we attest non-complicity on the actual mechanism of the raid. We will not accept any attempts by foreign regions or persons to create controversy or take advantage of our openness to escalate this simple issue in which our stance is fully in-line with our stated allegiances and legal responsibilities.
Thank you,
North East Somerset.
Foreign Minister.
