Alright, we have some temporary rules set up.
Now, what about those who refuse to identify themselves? There have been several instances of that lately, and SD doesn't allow them to be voiced if they won't change their nick to something recognizable. So, are we going to decide whether that should be a rule or not?
Also, for those who have ops, what will be the procedure when someone is breaking a rule? Warn first, then kick, then ban/kick if they keep on?
We also need to define whether one op can override the other. I've seen one person -v someone or kick/ban them, and then someone else in the room reverses it.
Rules are never going to work unless all the ops are enforcing them. And they can't just override each other at a whim. I've even seen ops wars happen, when one with ops kicks another with ops, who then returns and kicks the other one back. All fine if it's done as a joke, but sometimes it's done in seriousness because they're ticked off. That cannot happen.
We also need to stop giving out ops to everybody and their brother. The only ones who SHOULD have ops are those who are responsible in IRC. Not those who continually cause problems in it, and certainly not those who are irresponsible with ops.
Comments, anyone?
