Invasion of Stargate

I know that we don't have anything to do with them, but the region of Stargate was just invaded by the Black Hawks, who have been condemned by the WASC in the past. Thoughts, comments?

I have a clear conflict of interest in this matter.

I personally am disgusted by the attack on stargate, and doing everything within my power and ability to assist in its liberation. Stargate has a similar treaty with The North Pacific as Taijitu does. The citizens of taijitu can be assured, that TNP would take similarly strong action if anything similar was to ever occur to Taijitu.

Not that it is particularly relevant, as Taijitu has a founder but still.

Before I say anything further, let me be clear: I never sympathize with raiders. However, it seems to me like the people of Stargate are not too oppressed, nor do they seem very distressed by this occupation. Either way, it is TNP's duty to protect Stargate, so you folks can do as you feel you should do.

I would sympathize with raiders if I feel their cause is just. Things need to be considered on a case by case basis.

I believe the natives are simply dealing with what they have to face. Stargate has been raided that many times, that they now feel it is best to simply communicate positively with the raiders so that too many natives are not ejected, and that the region is not passworded.

Let us note that the Stargate delegate does not yet have enough influence to eject the former delegate General Hammond as well as some other long time residents.

My concern is that should he acquire enough influence, he will ban all citizens and attempt to refound the region making it a trophy of the black hawks.

It would be a sad loss of an active, and culturally rich region.

Well now that you bring up these points, mcmasterdonia, I can see what you're saying. I do understand that to avoid being ejected from the region, they would just take the occupation as well as they can. I hope that this mess can be fixed one way or another, anyhow.
