i've read one of those books. and i thought it was stupid. so,i went to read a book about the soviets and there miltary power.

I'm so surprised.

Gonzo is a type of journalism that throws facts into a fictional story.

Just plain Gonzo is where the author is mixed into the story. The only example you would know would probably be Lemony Snicket's "A Series of Unfortunate Events".

Hunter S Thompson also chose to be completely plastered/stoned/twisted theorizing that in that state one would record the true essence of the story. The end result was a bunch of scribbled gibberish that made no sense, so I say he was pretty much accurate in his reporting.
