Begging forgiveness!
« on: September 12, 2007, 03:17:08 PM »
I was in your fine chat area yesterday and mistakenly blamed someone's president for the world's ills.
I thought the person was from the US, and it turned out they were not.
I didn't mean such an insult, to you!!  Please forgive!!

And to the less than 50 percent of voters in the US who actually voted W in again - WTF were you thinking???!??

Are y'all happy with the way your country is going down the shitter?!

:trout: you all!

Please don't flame.  If you want to debate about everything our President has done wrong, fine, but please don't flame people.

*I* was flaming, but F*** you isn't?!  Seriously!

 ???

It's ok.  I'll leave it alone...

*edit*

This is General Discussion, oui?!  I was - I thought - obviously tongue in cheek mostly with the first post - smileys and all...

Take care, all!

Point taken.  You were both flaming.  And my complaint wasn't with your first statement, but with the other one.

Ess, I think this really was an attempt at a friendly, humorous jab.  And probably, among people who know you well, it would be taken that way.  But I think that when you're very new and most of us don't know you, something like this is bound to be taken differently.  A lot of us are from the US, and many of us get tired at times of hearing people put us down for that.  Some here get pretty serious about it.

Anyway, I hope this won't dissuade you from participating here.  Just maybe let us get to know what sort of person you are before posting these little jokes that can be taken the wrong way.   :P

I think Khab is right, however I consider some reactions in this thread exaggerated and poorly judged.

We will not be making explicit rules about how one is to behave in a public forum. If you need those, check a Cartoon-forum, they are rather clear about how one is to treat other forum members in there.

This thread is closed until further notice.

Get a grip on it, people.

Hi, again.  I wanted to have this thread re-opened so I could apologize to you all!  I didn't mean to offend in the first post - I can understand how a lot of people feel, as my husband is half a Yank - as he calls himself.
I am the same way in NS Canada's forums, too - it's just that they know me better, there.

I also apologize to Osafune!  I should have been more mature!

I hope you will excuse me and I'll try to be more restrained in how I phrase my opinions!

I should have been more mature too, but I'm not apologizing. I'm sick and tired of people with that attitude towards Americans.

And btw, I consider myself more of a Dem than anything. I don't think this war ever should have begun.

Bush actually won reelection by an extremely small margin, like 52%-48%. He didn't rig the second election like he did the first.

Which would be a correction of Ess' post if a higher percentage of registered voters in the US had actually cast ballots in either one.  ;)  *luvvles Myro*
