Opinion poll - Opening the Senate

We're in a bit of a pickle, there's many version on how the senate could be open for more participation,

Here's the bullet points:
A) Maintain the current legislation means keeping out from the Senate the Delegate, Chief Justice and Ministers - full separation of powers
B) We eliminate cabinet from head of executive branch allowing ministers to be in the Senate and be the Speaker and vice-versa
C) We eliminate cabinet and senate from head of branchs, only Delegate, Chief Justice and Speaker are heads, but with a clause that heads of branches cannot perform roles on other branches (Ministers can't be Speaker and vice-versa, Delegate can't be senator and vice-versa)
D) We eliminate cabinet and senate from head of branch without a clause impeding a Minister to serve as Speaker and a Senator to serve as Delegate. in other words, the Senate is open to all, with a clause only impeding heads of branches performing the role of other heads of branches (Speaker can't be Delegate or Chief Justice)

This is bullet point B)

I mostly disagree with Delfos. I think there should be a separation of powers, and the seat of speaker remain. I wouldn't mind if senators could also hold more bureaucratic positions such as ministries.

"The Delegate and Cabinet will constitute the leadership of the Executive Branch. " therefore ministers aren't considered heads of branches.

This is bullet point C)

All right. A possible compromise proposal:

Amend Article 6, Section 2 to read:
1. The Speaker will constitute the leadership of the Legislative Branch.
2. The Delegate will constitute the leadership of the Executive Branch.
3. The Court will constitute the leadership of the Judicial Branch.
4. No person in the leadership of a branch of the government may serve in another branch simultaneously.

With this proposal, Senators can be Ministers but Justices may not be Ministers or Senators, the Delegate may not be a Justice or a Senator, and the Speaker may not be a Minister or a Justice.

Amend Article 6, Section 2, Clause 1 to read:
1. The Speaker will constitute the leadership of the Legislative Branch.

This bill would allow Senators to be involved in the other branches. It is necessary if we are to have the Senate be by voluntary membership.

Actually B doesn't achieve what it sets out to do.  Making ministers not head of branch, they are still in the executive branch and would still be prohibited from joining the other branches.

I think it's important to make that clear.

I favour option C which is achieving pretty much the same as what B set out to do anyway.
