Call of Duty 4
« on: February 08, 2008, 01:13:58 PM »
"Call of Duty," praised for its unique online multiplayer leveling system, was named overall game of the year and console game of the year. It was also honored as the top action and online game. It features an intense single-player mission revolving around global terror as well as a diverse set of multiplayer mode.

Cant wait to play it!

At first I thought it would be just another try for modern combat that wouldn't be as special in sp/mp. But after watching the features, specially recalling when I played Call of Duty 2, if it gives that edge, I'll love it. Currently, only Battlefield 2 satisfies me completely as modern combat fps.

Shortly, me too!

Those are two really good games. I own them both. I cant get past this one level in Call of Duty, but I beat Assassin's Creed. I am just waiting for Tom Clancy's Endwar to come out next month. That game is going to be badass.

I will probably get COD 4 for the PC, but I am not expecting much from it.

Before you go saying how great it is and revolutionizes this and that fps aspect I should mention something.

A FPS can be at best a short term time killer to me. I will never enjoy it greatly and if it doesn't have a split screen it loses vast number of points. I am a sorta called a PC snob or what ever that I think pc is better for shooters but the only ones I like are the Unreal Tournaments and such. For Counsel If its not on the Wii its not a game at the moment.

It looks like it has good graphics so By the time I play it most likely it will be at bargain bin prices.

as for assassins creed, well my Wii comment answers that.

If its on-line Multiplayer is fun I will enjoy it, since A FPS doesn't have a single player it has training for the multi :D

funny you mention Tom Cancly's stuff. I've been following some games, I played a very old Rainbow Six, and it was very far from being any good as very realistic, technical and tactical game, because Delta Force was beating all that.

Now the last Delta Force as fallen under the evil of modern games, and is no3w more fun than technical, and Tom Cancly's games came up the ladder as both fun and tactical.

I've played Ghost Recon Advanced Warrior or something like that, I remember being nick'ed as GRAW, and it was superb, very heavy, good tactical system, it was great to be able to control the other NPCs, even if just by pointing them where to go. Being in cover at all times, using silenced weaponry, it was fantastic, although I think this kind of games are only good for single player.
Finally, it was still technical, used some of the latest weaponry available (for the US), the story was kinda military childish, but it was fine, I just think there should have been longer single player, maybe more missions. I guess that can be fixed with some downloads from moding community or booster packs.
The system was kinda SWAT4 but more advanced, but since then, Tom Clancy's games have been beating Novalogic's Delta Force.

I just hope this COD4 is either just fun (like BF-Bad Company seems to be) or if they try it as technical, to be very technical and tactical, otherwise it will just suck.
