Stop Uwe Boll
« on: April 25, 2008, 09:51:11 PM »
http://www.petitiononline.com/RRH53888/petition.html

Don't let Uwe Boll continue to make atrociously bad film adaptations of video games.  Sign the petition!

And seriously, he's a doctor?  I can just imagine what kind of doctorate a guy like Uwe Boll could manage to get.  Maybe it's a doctorate in sucking worse than any human has a right to suck.

I've already signed it...and he holds a doctorate in literature from either the University of Cologne of Siegen.
"I believe every single person is extraordinary. The tragedy is that we
have a society where too many people never get to fulfill that
extraordinary potential. My view – the liberal view – is that
government’s job is to help them to do it. Not to tell people how to
live their lives. But to make their choices possible, to release their
potential, no matter who they are. The way to do that is to take power away from those who hoard it. To challenge vested interests. To break down privilege. To clear out the bottlenecks in our society that block opportunity and block progress. And so give everyone a chance to live the life they want." - Nick Clegg, Leader of the Liberal Democrats and Deputy Prime Minister of the United Kingdom

I think the fact that so many nerds get worked up over him, make me want for him to make movies.

"Nerds" coming from the guy with the zerg and OMG in his signature, and dancing anime girls as his avatar... ::) ;)

He does it for the tax write offs he gets from his government.  Whether the film makes money or not the government wants to encourage film making so subsidizes the efforts.  He will not heed a petition when there is money to be made just by making the film.

Well, I know he won't stop.  No one ever stops after something like this.  But it's still fun to watch the signature numbers rise.  ;D

It's not so much the fact that he desecrates games with his terrible adaptations as that he just makes really really terrible movies.  I'd probably rather watch Manos: The Hands of Fate a few times over than one of his movies.  He can keep doing stuff like challenging his critics to boxing matches, though.  That's hilarious.  I'd also like to see what he does if he gets presented with a million-signature petition telling him to stop making movies.  Hey, he was the one who said he'd stop making movies if a million people told him to stop.
