SPORE
« on: October 19, 2007, 07:15:14 PM »
http://www.spore.com/

Isn't spore lovely? Aren't you dying waiting for this game? I'm waiting half a year for it, there's people waiting for it more than a year. The project started in 2005. You are god, you create a planet and control lifeforms from molecule to universal-civilization (the conquest of the universe). And it includes making the bad guys and see how your specie reacts! Saying what they can eat or drink, amasing, isn't it?

Yeah, I'm one of the poor bastards ho found out about this project in '05... looks great but this has been the most starved marketing campaign in the history of video games.... they can easily go months without updating the site... I signed up for the newsletter in early '06 and to this day have never gotten a single e-mail in regards...

I guess it's all well and good since it means they're spending more time making the game then talking about it, but still by this point there should be a dumbed down demo or at least something I can 'sink my teeth into'

that's a problem, I think they are more handful with The Sims, since the creator is responsible of finishing this. Tell The Sims players to wait for Christ sake, and throw the best game of the decade to the market!

I'd think since new sims addons are:

1) A cash cow
2) Just new graphics and a slight bit more code

then EA isn't going to delay a sure thing for what is still an unproven (stupid marketers). Even then they say they are in the final stages of polishing Spore right now but it's still going to be march/april of '08 before the game launches.

I wonder how the launch of this game will affect forum traffic, I know I for one am going to be deeply into Spore once it comes out, even if by some fluke it's the most garbage game ever made I'm still going to force myself to play it non-stop for weeks just on principal.

The rumor is that the system specs are about the same as the sims 2

Spore looks cool, you get to make a species all by yourself...

But not as cool as Fallen earth.

sorry Neil, didn't see. And it doesn't seem to be here in this section.

Yes i read somewhere that they will use similar system, the game has a similar structure to The Sims because of affections and building environment. But in The Sims you can't leave your planet

What i missed to read, will there be online multiplayer options?

It's a single player game, but content is shared between players. So my species would be uploaded to the spore servers, downloaded onto your game and then you could find my world as a NPC race on your game and vice versa

Diplomatic solutions are possible, so you could make your own federation if you wanted.

Bara: My awesome powers would be transferred to my race even when they become NPC's... so no... you won't.... ever.... at all..... ohhh.... dotty.... dot dot dot.... hehehe...
