What are the most annoying creatures you ever found in a Video Game?

Half-Life series:
Headcrab

Morrowind:
Cliff Racer

Don't you agree? What else do you find out there?

There is no creature more insidious than this devil-spawn, "Noober." He is not human... he is the very essence of Annoyance.

The poltergeist in S.T.A.L.K.E.R, a normally invisible and levitating creature found in abandoned labs, underground facilities and such where it has a fondness for throwing stuff at you and also for holding doors you have to pass shut from the other side.

The Controller, a telepath from the same game. It tosses you around like a glove and bangs you into stuff causing serious frustration as you can't fight when It's holding you but not much damage.

The Cliff Racer is the all-time most annoying creature ever, but in Oblivion it's not one creature but the fact that going from one town to another gets you into battles with like, 30 creatures on the way there. I'm traveling on the road in the greatest empire the world has ever seen, and I get attacked by minotaurs at every turn. Jeeze.

you think that's annoying myro? Try Stalker, walking from one camp to another means you'll probably be attacked by a couple of packs of mutated dogs, a number of bandits (they shoot at you and may very well kill you if you don't have enough medikits) possibly a Hind gunship or two, some boars, maybe some invisible monsters, and if you travel in the dark you are likely to wander into at least one geological anomaly or rad-zone taking you on the ride of your gaming session. Especially the anomalies. The rad-zones just means you better pack some iodine shots or a lot of vodka. But the vodka will turn you into a sitting duck for any bandit or monster that comes your way while drunk.

Yes, but in Oblivion the aforementioned minotaurs wield warhammers with one hand and warhammers will ALWAYS make you recoil for a second or more unless you don't block, in which case you recoil less but you get hurt. ARRGH!

Oh, so you think a warhammer blow is less harmful than a 7.62*39 AP bullet through the chest or head?
Or was it the 'beeing desintegrated on a molecular level by geo-gravitational anomalies' that was the easy part?
Or maybe the half dozen dogs that jump at you as one and nearly knocking you over before starting to chomp down on your vital organs?

true, but if i remember right Morrowind was more annoying, in Oblivion the roads are *more or less* safe. Traveling system in Oblivion is worse than Morrowind in my opinion, Morrowind had this marvelous beasts that i don't recall the name where you could travel, a cool move would be making this animated beasts like buses in Oblivion.
But the Cliff Racer, specially when you are already high leveled, keep annoying you like hell, specially when you're running fast and 3 come right after you (more than 1 factor), i hope that someday they invent some scripting to make NPCs too low in level to be afraid of high leveled players, and the same for too high NPC to not bother with low level players unless they 'trespass'.

Now that you mention Oblivion, where I love the environment, going for a hunt with bow and arrow in some forest is amasing. Maybe the answer would be to make less enemy NPCs, or to limit them in an area.

You're forgetting the most piss off annoying character ever put into a video game:

That damn fucking dog from duck hunt that you could never shoot no matter how many time his laugh mocked you! Stupid dog, it can't even fire a gun so who is he to sit behind the tall grasses all high and mighty and pass out praise and scorn like some divine emperor of the cosmos.

I couldn't think of anything last night. Then I played Wesnoth.

Dear God, you cannot hit these things! I nearly leveled one up twice just trying to actually hit it.

The dog is a prime example of a good way to teach a lesson. In this case, don't ever miss. Ever.

Ever.

It's not a matter of hit or miss, it's a matter of being denied the shot while the gun is in your hands.
