I'll have to agree with trey, I was a fan when I was a kid, IV and V are the best of the 6, the last three became too commercial, the last of all is just bs, nothing to do with the magic of SW, only the last part can be considered "valuable". Still, best space sci-fi saga ever.

Speaking of ultra-tech sci-fi, Blade Runner might be top5, if not top3, for me.

I still haven't seen Blade Runner yet...I know I need to.

And as for the new Star Wars films...1 is OK, 2 is atrocious, and 3 is nothing more than a bridge.  Plus, George Lucas should never be allowed to write any dialogue...EVER.  It is ridiculously bad in all 3 movies.

And, to top it all off, Hayden Christensen has the personality of a 2x4.

And then there's Jar Jar *shudder*...
"I believe every single person is extraordinary. The tragedy is that we
have a society where too many people never get to fulfill that
extraordinary potential. My view – the liberal view – is that
government’s job is to help them to do it. Not to tell people how to
live their lives. But to make their choices possible, to release their
potential, no matter who they are. The way to do that is to take power away from those who hoard it. To challenge vested interests. To break down privilege. To clear out the bottlenecks in our society that block opportunity and block progress. And so give everyone a chance to live the life they want." - Nick Clegg, Leader of the Liberal Democrats and Deputy Prime Minister of the United Kingdom

he was able to include R2D2 as a figurine, he's always the one that saves the day, basically the whole story includes this "little stupid astro-droid". In the 1st original movies he's still claimed as the super-hero, he's the one that develops the plot in Jabba's planet. In the SW Ep1 Lucas puts him in front row, he's the super-hero. In the other two...not as much, specially in the 3rd, totally commercial, where all the droid voices got "funnier" for a reason, R2D2 faces several loose-wire problems...funny aren't they? :/ Everything lost the magic of the original movies, but well, the young audience doesn't care.

Blade Runner is superb, if you which to stop seeing the effects of the space-based sci-fi and start watching some plot, some story, just something in the future out of the marvelous spaceships and space fights and explosions and whatever, Blade Runner will satisfy you. It's criminal investigation in the future, Harrison Ford is perfect for the role, probably one of his best roles. The plot is deeper, concern artificial intelligence, as alot of actions, it's just old and lacks effects to appeal the audience, that's why it's so great.
