Closure of Embassy with Lazarus

Chairman Stujenske, the delegate of the People's Republic of Lazarus, has ejected and banned Funkadelia, a former Chairman of Lazarus, and dissolved the region's judicial branch after public criticism of his regime on Funk's part.

Lazarus is a region we hold both on- and off-site embassies with. In response to this grave disrespect to due process and the rights of the accused, I have closed the off-site embassy and begun the process of closing the on-site embassy. Lazarus was once a region built on revolution - like our own - but this dramatic turn has revealed Stujenske's true colors as a dictator, suppressing dissent by any means necessary.

I would like to move for an immediate vote by the Ecclesia on the propriety of this embassy closure.

Funkadelia, Church of Satan, Toronina, Gulliver, and several other members of the deposed Lazarene government have formed the Lazarus Underground State, a government in exile.

I will be having the Foreign Service recognize them as the PRL's legitimate successor state, but what should we do about embassies on their offsite forums? Do we need another Ecclesia vote? Can we just transfer legitimacy and personnel to their new forum? Should we avoid embassies entirely?

I have little interest in maintaining on-site embassies with Lazarus until the legitimate government is back in place.

More seriously I say recognize LUS, transfer all diplomatic relations to them and close all current paths open with the "legitimate government" of Chairman Stujenske. Are there military options for ousting Stujenske? Are there options which would allow the LUS to retake control?

The Taijitu Militia, Lazarene Resistance, and other forces are considering military options. Without saying too much that is not final or decided yet, I can say that Stujenske has done an excellent job of entrenching himself and accumulating WA influence.

Attempting to get the LUS back in power as the legitimate government in Lazarus is going to take a while. Diplomatic and political pressure will, at this time, likely be the best option we have.

To close our Embassy is a proper reaction to what has happened and I support that wholeheartedly. It is a good message to the world. To open an embassy with the "rebels" as they will undoubtebly be called, is a different issue. We will then commit ourselves and perhaps be seen as agressors.

I find I have not enough understanding of the current situation to vote properly. I need more information. What are the pros and cons? Will Taijitu find itself in a situation where we will have go to war? Do we have to vote so quickly? Can we not have a bit of debate first?

I understand that some here have been treated very badly and it seems to me that the Lazrus revolution is now being usurped by a new tyrrany, as so many times before in human history, stil I need to have an informed opinion before I cast a vote. As it stands now, I will have to abstain.

I will be greatful for all imput here.
