Embassy Request: Camelot
« on: November 04, 2014, 04:13:46 PM »
Camelot, an NS region containing 47 nations as of this posting, wishes to open an embassy with us. I have requested a diplomatic visa on their forum in response so that I may catch a glimpse of their community.

Below is the full text of their request:

Region: Camelot
Regional Forum: http://w11.zetaboards.com/CamelotNS/index/
Military Stance: Defender
Population: Region: 45; Forum: 23
About: Camelot is a monarchy, currently more absolute as we are a young region but eventually it will become more of a constitutional monarchy with an elected head of government. Right now the monarch is head of state and government and is assisted by the appointed cabinet, the Round Table. We do have an assembly of citizens, the Folkmoot, which elects its Speaker. We are also a defender region.

What are your thoughts, oh glorious Citizens?

Cormac just started this :P I'd like to have an embassy eventually, but it seems a bit fast. Perhaps tell him we'll consider it again in a few months?

I've been our unofficial official observer since it was founded. The region looks promising but I'd probably prefer to wait a little while.

Can we have an "ask again in a month" option?

I added two ask again options. Should I reset the vote count, or is it enough that Citizens may now change our votes?

"Reconsider request in one month"
and
"Ask Camelot to make a request again once their region is more firmly established"

I think it's enough that we can change our votes, so long as there's still enough time on the poll.

Thanks!

Great, I added an extra day when I added the voting options so we should be good to go. :)

FTR, I don't if this was open or not, but I think there is no harm in opening the embassy. Cormac has helped build up successful regions before & if it doesn't work out we can just close it later  :fro:

I think that given reconsideration in the future is a compromise position between rejection and acceptance, it should be the course adopted as the no voter would most likely prefer it to immediate acceptance of the embassy.

But perhaps we should do a runoff vote.

I also find it highly likely that, given the current votes, Taijitu would go for the compromise position... but let's make it official.

Vote in the runoff poll, available now!
