Repeal "Animal Protection Act"
« on: December 20, 2012, 08:08:13 PM »
Title: Repeal "Animal Protection Act"
Category: Repeal
Resolution: GA#228
Proposed by: Antartica55 (sic)

Quote
Description: WA General Assembly Resolution #228: Animal Protection Act (Category: Moral Decency; Strength: Significant) shall be struck out and rendered null and void.

Argument: UNDERSTANDING: The intention of the Animal Protection Act to prevent abuse and mistreatment.

HOWEVER REALIZING: That the resolution provides no definition, or differentiations between "people" and "animals"

NOTING: That most sapient life, can be described as a "person" or an "animal" interchangeably.

FURTHER REALIZING: That without this definition, sapient life could be subject to the same domesticating and servitude that "animals" are.

DISCERNED: That the definition of an "owner", under this resolution would consider any wildlife on a "persons" property for more than 31 days their property, and responsibility.

SADDENED: That this act, discourages "owners" from having domesticated indoor house pets.

HERBY: Repeals General Assembly Resolution #228 Animal Protection Act

Gaeanist doctrine states that all life has a spirit, including humans and animals. All feel the suffering of life and the goal of Gaeanism is to minimize suffering. The delegation from Ozia believes it is heinous practice to go backwards from trying to make this possible and will vote against this repeal.

Well seriously I'm against the forwarded Animal Protection Act, but I'm also against this repeal, the reasons listed are crap. I want animal protection, not institutionalization of "animal protection" as the original bill implies.
