Dude, Fuhrer != Nazi always, jesus man.

Acutally, for a crazy fact ... Führer is a proper noun meaning "leader" in the German language. Though the word remains common in German, it does come with some social stigma attached, and under Hitler was part of the title of many positions in the various (para)military and governmental organizations of Germany. FYI.

Yes I am aware of that, which is why that post is showing that the term doesn't relate to Nazism unless there are those who are ignorant of things like that.

But that's another rant for another time.

Once again DFD, welcome, and it is good to see you here my friend ::hugs::

Here, have a brownie while you're here, and come check us out.

I also have a OOC relations thread set up in the RP section of the forum, come check it out :D

Welcome to Taijitu DFD.
Hope you are gonna like it here :D

Dude, Fuhrer != Nazi always, jesus man.

Just to add to all the fun there is also the

Fremdenführer = Tourist guide
Lokführer = Engineer (on a train)
Verführer = Enticer or rather casanova
Museumsführer = Museums guide
Zugführer = Crew chief usually used in the military for the platoon leader or in firefighter units in the same context.
Schichtführer = Shift boss
and last but by no means least the "Führungsebene" = Managment level.

Yep we germans have a lot of führers  :-P
The power we hold comes from our citizens.
And they may take it away as well.

Khab pokes her head in to deliver more cookies and milk.   And coffee, since it's still morning where she is!

And for anyone reading this thread -
I did a little research by speaking with several native German people I know.  Soly is mistaken on this one.  'Der Fuhrer' does not mean Hitler specifically.  It means either 'leader' or 'the leader', depending on the context.  So there's nothing offensive about it in the least.   :clap:

Hi DFD!
I'm so glad that you aren't leaving us.  And I sincerely doubt that you'll have any further problems related to your name.  I very much look forward to getting to know you.   ;D

Welcome, Dyszel!  It's nice to have a visitor here from the RR.  I hope you'll enjoy it.  Being the resident cookie lady, here's a welcome basket full of chocolate chippers and oatmeal-raisins just for you.   :)

If you have any questions, you're welcome to message either Allama or myself, or stop over at the Help Desk.  And you might find the Guide to Taijitu handy - it has a list of links to important spots on the forum.

What sort of resistance are you coming up against?  Just the post here?  Because that's only one post.  Or is there more things that I'm not aware of yet?  Seriously, Dyszel, I hope you won't give up so quickly.  Give it a chance.

Well thank you, that honestly has made me feel better.  I had high hopes coming here, especially aftering hearing so many positive responses.  I must confess, I was disappointed that the first response was an attack at my name.  As for giving up, I do not do that easily, but I was not going to sit here and listening to harping over my name especially after I explained myself.  In this case, I can just move else where and do diplomacy work then facing the pointing finger of Nazi by ever other person.

But if I am indeed welcomed here, I have a lot to contribute.....you'll have to trust me on that one.  I have quite the reputation for being quite a loaded pistol, an old-school RP'er (yes that ridiculously long thread on the NS forums is my war), and a very kind-hearted person who knows how to have a good time.  Believe me, you will not regret getting to know me if you give me a chance.

I ask that no one allows my name to interefere with this decision and that everyone look at it with more objective evidence to oppose me.  If anyone questions my intentions, you can merely go to The Rejected Realms and ask about me or even The West Pacific.

Thank you all....and thank you Khablan for giving me a chance.

^_^

Oh, just ignore Solnath.  He can be a bit of an ass loose cannon independent individual, and he'll warm up to you eventually.  Welcome to Taijitu, DFD!  I have no problem with your name; I'm just lazy, so I'll type DFD because it's quicker.

Hello and welcome, DFD!  Nice to see another smiling face here, especially when that face is an emissary from another region.  As Khab said, you can message either of us with any questions or concerns you may have, and I highly recommend scanning through the Community Office - The Guide may prove especially helpful, and anything you don't find there you can seek in the Help Desk.

Anywho, enjoy the region and feel free to poke around.  :)

Or a crocodile.  But that's just Eduardo.  Don't mind him.  He just likes to stray from our pirate ship now and then to see the sights.

Well, I can see my friends were right, I think I'll fit in perfect here.   :-P

Thank you all for coming to the understanding about my name, which is, as pointed out, merely supposed to mean The Leader.  So now we have established that it is not intended to be offensive or associated with Hitler, let us continue with the party.....I mean diplomatic work.  *whistles*

Thank you all for the warm welcomes.

*taking a cup of coffee and a cookie*

So what is new around here?

What's new...Solnath has the most posts.  I'm sure there's a good reason the RR is sending a delegate, and that is the other "new news" I can think of.

Well let's see now...

Hippos have been sighted in our #taijitu channel, and we suspect they're drawn by the cookies.  We've even seen a koala at times.  We do have interesting visitors there, I must say...

One of the discussions currently burning on everyone's tongues lately is whether eggs smell like arse...

Our local pirate ship has stopped off at a tropical island to gather up some supplies.  We need new coconut bras and such, you know...

The Cookie Poll is still running, so be sure to cast your vote!

We now return you to your normal activities.  Tune in next time, same bat time, same bat channel!
