If you would like one of your companies to have a stock price associated with a real life company, visit Virtual Stock Exchange (http://www.virtualstockexchange.com) and join the Game ID: Taijitu (bottom right hand column). It will then ask you to register (takes about 30 secs, and you don't have to wait for a confirmation email). It will ask for the Game ID again, enter Taijitu, and then the password is: taijitu. Then Create a portfolio, and buy one stock of the real life company you want to be associated with your DSE one. Then post on this thread with the ticker symbol and company name and I will add it below.
Notice what companies have been selected because I will not allow one real life company to be represented by multiple DSE companies. Its first come, first serve (there are thousands of publicly traded companies in RL so this shouldn't be a problem).

nope they are record companies and such, all actual buisnesses. we just happen to do alot of studio work for musicians in uichi ryu.

The only problem with doing a ticker/stock prices is that in real life, prices are determined by the market (the purest form of supply and demand there is) and not by an individual. Since we don't really have a way of "trading" stocks like you would on NYSE, I don't know of any fair way to determine prices.

Nerdic has decided to change the amount of stock it has, we are changing it to 5,000,000,000 stock total, and still putting out 10%, we estimate our stock worth at around 2 trillion but this is not a accurate as we are growing rather rapidly.

CAM should be multiple arms companies since it has the monopoly in making and selling arms in Bustos.

well Ranholn, effect is what you make it young grasshopper :clap:. I'm using it more to represent parallels to real life companies.
It's setup as a game, but it's not competitive (at least I'm not playing it competitively). I setup a portfolio 'DSE' which is just all stock of an NYSE SPDR, kind of to represent the total amount of stock available and total price. You could use your real life price, or an average if you have multiple representing one companies, to price your DSE shares, and then you can sell your shares at that price since you've already established how much you have available. Just as a thought.
Actually, multiple companies for one company isn't a bad idea either (since there are thousands of RL companies), because I was actually trying to think of a solution for the Mercantilist Brewing Co. since they have more than just beer.
Dysanii, you can sell off stock I think.

I think that might make it too complicated (too many companies). Perhaps Taijitu companies should pick RL companies which reflect their business structure. For example, LSC Group is (the only company) involved using Chemicals - this is a broad spectrum of business, so I chose ICI, which whilst involved in the same activites as LSC, it also has multiple aspects and is made up of multiple companies (ICI > ICI Paints > ICI Dulux, for example).
