Kaiser Paul and Kaiserin Selene waited in the conference hall of the Imperial Palace in Winnipeg. They were waiting for the Barakarin ambassador to arrive and discuss the creation of an alliance between the two nations. But right now, Paul was distracted by the beauty of his wife. Her obvious Fenexian shape made him thank God for her every morning when they woke up. Selene felt the same way about him and they could be considered the happiest couple in Taijitu. She cried when he came home from the Uprising, she had heard of a few Spectre gunships that had been shot down. She had thought he had been shot down. The relationship between the Canadian-Quebecois Empire and the Democratic Republic of Barakarin was a strong friendship. Paul had made many friends in the world, but Barakarin had to be up there among his most trusted allies. The Uprising, the Veramark Civil War and the Nerubian Resistance had made them stroger allies. So it was about time to formalize the alliance. A guard in a ornate uniform came in. "Your Majesties, the Barakarin ambassador has arrived. Should I let him in?" The monarchs nodded.

Robert Walpole walked in with his wife, Jenny Walpole. They sat shook hands, and they sat down.
"Nice to meet you again. As i told you earlier, my wife was home sick a while ago, but now shes better"
He smiled at the Kaiser and his Wife. They were among his and his wifes friends. There bodyguards, carrying Tec-9's or Shoguns stood out the door.
"So, shall we being making the treaty?"

Paul and Selene nodded. "Well to begin, I want to say thank you for helping us with our uprising. I hope the soldiers in Veramark were much help. But to the treay, are we all in agreement that the alliance treaty is a trade and military alliance. I think that the military aspect should be that if someone invades the other, the other must come to the aid of the other."

"As do i"
Robert Walpoles phone begin to ring, and it was the Council. He picked up the phone, and listened. He then hung up the phone after a few minutes.
"I am very, very sorry about that, but i do have very important news. We have discovered a new Civilization that call them selves the Kailaerns. The council asked me to tel ask you this. Would you send over a few teams of scientists to study this new civilization?"

Selene looked amazed. "A new civilization?! That is wonderful. We will send teams immeditatly." Paul was amazed as well. "I agree." He pulled out a piece of paper with his signature on it. "By signing this, we are offically allies. I have already signed it." He passed it to Robert. Then Paul pulled out four glasses and a bottle of red wine. "This is the finest wine in the Empire. Came from Montreal el Norte." He poured the wine into the glasses and handed them to his wife and the Walpoles.

Robert Walpole signed the paper and too a glass.
"To the futre of our two nations."
He toasted the Kasier and his wife, then he toasted his own wife.

"To our future." replied Kaiser Paul.

Robert Walpole nodded at the Kasier. Robert knew he was a man to be trusted. There nations have helped each other many times. Now, they will help each other again with the Kailaerns.
