Title: Are there any Christian Nations here in Taijitu?
Post by: Noachian on August 22, 2007, 02:10:05 PM
Are there any Christian Nations here in Taijitu? Any Nations which believe in the infallible Establishment of the Church.

Myroria has the state religion of the Myrorian Catholic Church, but it's hardly Christian. It just accepts Jesus as the son of God, but it still thinks Muhammed, etc. are also prophets.

But I myself am atheist.

I'm afraid most of the Christians we have are so-called liberal heathens. I.e. decent people.

No offense, of course.

/me is a liberal heathen Christian.

That aside, my nation is 100% secular but I think there are a few floating around that have one version of the Church or another tied with the government.

The Durnian state is staunchly Anglican, with Methodism as well and a sizeable Catholic community.

Are we talking IC, or OOC?

I am either Atheist or Deist... I can't decide  :-P

Gnoled Ttam is a secular government, but the citizens of Gnoled Ttam hold many differing religious beliefs.

Nice....Atheist, Secular, Catholic, Deist, Islamic etc very nice.

The Constitutional Monarchy of Lewthwaite has a National Church; The Lewthwaitian Church (a branch of Anglicanism), but there is a very small Jewish community of about 120 people and one Synagogue. Islam, Atheism, Humanism, Hinduism are very very unheard of due to being very out of  the ordinary; there are recorded 3 Muslims and around 60 Atheists and 9 Hindus (out of 12 million and still rising). Religion is not forced upon anyone but it plays an Important role in the Government, as most Secularists would oppose but we are all entitled to our own way of running our Nations right?

You mean like Religious funding? Because I banned Harry Potter because it had demons in it so the Church would be happy. I would rather sacrifice a fictional book than have the Church angry at children reading about 'good' demons. I know most secular Nations here in Taijitu would strongly disagree but the Church plays an important role in my Government.

The Myrorian Catholic Church has several Deist qualities. It teaches that the universe was created by God, who left it be. It doesn't reject the possibility of extraterrestials, but thinks humans are God's "chosen people", and are the only ones visited by prophets like Jesus or Muhammed. It doesn't think homosexuality is a sin, because it believes it is not a choice (like it believes in evolution). It's basically...organized Deism with Islam. But somewhat different.

But it accepts Jesus as the son of God, so it's technically Christian.

Catholics are Christians, Evangelics are Christians, Evangelics are not Catholics.

Interesting, very like Catholicism indeed. The Lewthwaitian Church unlike The Myrorian Catholic Church; doesn't except the scientific theory of evolution but turns to other scientific hypotheses of Creationism however some regional Churches and Chapels except Darwinian evolution. Again unlike The Myrorian Catholic Church they do not except homosexuality as a natural feeling therefore the Government prohibits homosexual sex or civil partnerships (or Religious marriages) but does not see it so much as a sin but as an unnatural burden to society, however there are places where homosexuals can meet and socialize with-one-another, but these 'retreats' aren't protected by policing or Government funded. Homosexuality isn't excepted as societies family system there for it is also illegal for homosexuals to have their own families (children etc, they are also not allowed to be in the Clergy). Extraterrestrials are a matter of personal belief and nothing is set in the Church's doctrine. The Lewthwaitian Church has very little doctrine so therefore it allows its followers to make their own spiritual paths, the Bible is a strict infallible, doctrine (referred to as The Word of God or The Almighty Message among other various names). In The Constitutional Monarchy of Lewthwaite, Islam is almost out of the norm as homosexuality since a huge disaster in the mother Nation long ago.

I already wrote in another thread that I won't be at this forum anymore, because I cannot start new topics or PMs. I  wanted to start the United World Church and became no request. Now I saw that my church got a new sub-forum. Maybe, someone wants to be the new moderator. Then start a new topic because I can't. I will chose a new moderator.

Libertalien has no state-religion. State and church, temple and synagogue are separated. There are Christians  on the raft of different denominations.  Most of the Christians are catholic or members of the evangelical Freikirche.

My nation has it's own church, Kaiserism. They simply worship the past Kaisers and the current one. They read of and worship the accomplishments and achievements of the Kaisers. Every Kaiser has their own chapter in the holy Kaiserbuch. In real life, I'm athiest, though.

Benign--purely non denominational...has as many profound and hardy beliefs and as much faith in them as the next person, coupled with openmindedness and a willingness to examine my beliefs and refrain when possible from being judgemental. Hence, I'm not going to trap myself into the notion that my faith in my beliefs is the TRUTH. If God is the truth, then all that's different can be perspective. Why judge what is unknown? Who's got the whole picture on everyone's experiences and their perspective of them, past, present or future, available with which to comprehend truth?
Julian of Norwich described the trinity thus;
Father- I can
Son-I know
Holy Spirit-I desire
2 outta three and it doesn't happen. I adopt the father and the HS (or vice versa) but frankly, I don't know, yet...I know I don't know, whatever that may or may not acount for, and so for the time being I hang in limbo this cool spot between gnosticism and agnosticism, waiting for my snowball's chance in hell.

The Monarchy of Widerberg is a nation for all religions. But our state-religion is Christian-evangelical.
The Christian churches is favored by the government.

With a few exceptions there are full religious freedom.

Satanic religions are banned.

Around
57% Protestants
21% Catholic/Orthodox
7% Jews.
6% Muslims.
5% Hindus/Buddhists.
4% Non-believers.

On behalf of the government and the King.
