I've thought of it for awhile and I've decided I'm going to make the Physical Map of Taijitu.
I've already added a test/teaser of what my physical map might look like by making a simple new island with a preview of Ice Caps.
Now realize, this isn't going to be one day and pow its done... This geographic map will take a very very long time and I would of made it back in January with the basic map but I didn't have enough time so I threw together a pretty cheesy Climate map :P
This map will be a lot larger than it's current dimensions of 4000x2000. I blew it up 150% and now it's 6000x3000 to let it have more room for detail.
Please don't message me about hurrying it up or then I'll probably pay you the favor back of rushing your portion of the map as a penalty, thus making it a horrid portion of the map.. Or perhaps I'll spill coffee on it :-P
Anyway, any messages of encouragement, pretty ladies, etc will do :D

Oz, a question: Could you tell us which nations are currently shown? Or is this just a test thing?

It's not anything, I made it to show what it would probably look like... might be better...
-
Ah, the infamous 'Red X' nation. I see.
Well, a superb idea and keep up the good ol' Ozian work we have always loved. ;D
-
how defined is it? could you zoom in some area of that test sample? physical, but it will be 2D right?
-
Am I right in guessing that the test map is not on the scale that the finished map will be on?
-
*clicks tongue*
Good. This will make Taijitu in Celestia look soo much real.
-
I like....I very like. Easier to Rp if you know what the terrain's like. Good luck on finishing it.
-
Ah, sehr gut. Can't wait
-
WE LOVE YOU OZ!!!
-
Absolutely fantastic! Oz, you demonstrate your typical flair for the marvelous.
-
Niiiiiiiiiiice.
*gives a few tais to him*
You know whats that for...
-
Nice work Oz, are you possibly adding grey areas for cities or would that become too complex? Also, maybe you could add continental shelves in the water to signify what areas are shallow and which are truly deep oceans. Just an idea, since I have littoral combat ships and a submarine which wouldn't dare go past the continental shelf. I especially love the rivers and lakes! Add a lot of rivers to my northern peninsula!
When you are finished you could always consider opening a shop where people can pay (quite a lot) to have their land changed a bit (or have massive urban centers added)
-
lovely ideas from the one above.
also not that my nation ismostly covered in Rainforest with a mountain border on the north.
-
Yes... It would be great if everyone who wants some certain feature for their country such as mountains in the north and forests everywhere to post here. If you don't post any suggestions and I have the map completed, I won't go back and fix it.
-
The Western coastal plains are fairly flat and receive fair amounts of rain from oceanic weather patterns, giving rise to slightly arid hilly country in the center of the nation, and finally shooting up into a dramatic mountain range in the East that receives much rain that tends to quickly drain into lakes in mountainside crannies or foothill valleys.
There you go, Oz. Thankee much!

On my southern peninsula, in the eastern section where it has a large bay, it is very mountainous. The northern peninsula has many rivers, and a large valley in the eastern part of the northern peninsula. In the center of the southern peninsula is a small peninsula of land that juts out into the straight, it's a very urban area (it's the capital), the whole thing is practically one enormous city. If you aren't doing cities, just make it a marshy area. For the most part the northern peninsula is very very dense jungle, the southern peninsula is dense as well with sporadic clearings for farmland, I'd also like a few *small* mountain ranges, while the rest of the country is like the amazon. If you'd like, I'll edit this post and add a small map pointing out the 4 very large urban areas (80+ million people) and mountain ranges. Otherwise, what I've said above is about all that I should note, the preview you gave is absolutely excellent anything you do with my land would be fantastic! Once it's done I'll go ahead and edit it (carefully lol see if I can keep it looking dead sexy) with urban areas and roads... it's definetly going on my national stats page no matter what.
-
oooh also oz i need a large lake with a large island in the center. that is my main city carcossa and would be completely urban. rivers, lakes and waterfalls are extremely common. the beaches should be very similar to those in brazil. additionaly random mountains are cool to toss in.
-
I have tried to stay close to the climate map Oz made.
Dark green= deep jungle
Light green= light jungle
Its obvious were the mountains are and were the desert is.
The brown spots in the jungle are hills.
The islands in front I havent made yet. But they should be covered with forrest.

As soon as I can find the time I will go deeper into Photoshop. I want to try layers for the roads and citys and stuff.
-
I would like a mountain range to the north of my country as well as the north being almost comepletly covered in forest. Thank you.
-
Just like you to know that the climate map is very very general
-
Myroria's north (The humid sub-tropic, as it was on the climate map) is like the Southern US. Pretty flat, good plantation land. If you did make certain parts grey like Xyrael said, Novrith in the northeast (I never really set an exact place, it never needed to be placed exactly), would be a lot of grey because Myroria is completely absent of skyscrapers, so the cities have to grow out instead of up. The New England like climate in the south would be mountains, not too tall, like short Appalachians. The tundra would be, well, tundra.
-
I'd like a north-south mountain range on Arasel's western border and about quarter a square from the eastern tip. Just in case I restart.
-
My nation (alas, tis not on the maps yet) should have mountains surroundings its borders, then short deserts next to the mountain in various regions.
But... don't we already have a climate map? If you live in a tropical region, you can't have deserts even if its in your nation description, can you?
-
(wrong thread)
-
For my nation:
-Mountain regions in the northeast, east, and southeast.
-A huge central plain around Mei with a major river (check my map for reference)
-The west and northwest is mostly tropical forests and rolling hills.
-everywhere else can be grassland or forests.

-
East- N-S Mountain range, with a large, glaciel lake midway on the border with CF.
South- River plain going to a delta at the coast, with hills in the southeast.
North- Heavy forest, thinning as it goes south.
West- NW-coast is cliffy, much like SW England, SW- River delta, fertile and green
Middle- ring of mountains around Himmelsburg, close enough to have a high elevation plateau between them, think Nepal-ish, but with more trees.
-
Takasia is basically nothing but barren rock, though with forest in the south bordering Talstadt and some mountain range in the southeast bordering Confederate Freedom.
As for Arveoli, it is generally flat, as transition of the northern (Tagirstan) and southern (History Lovers) landscape.
-
Has this been cancelled, Oz? You had a great idea... and I'm sad you stopped it. :'(
-
I bet he's just resting it...
-
Wasn't this project started prior to the reboot?
-
true though this is, he didn't get too far, so it shouldn't be too much backtrack...
-
Well, Feniexia would be mainly grey because of the large cities dominating the core lands (there are about 3 cities in Feniexia, but they are pretty large and connect to each other; they are just divided for administrative purposes), with a few spots of plains on the remoter islands.
Good idea, good work; your maps are great Oz ;) .
-
I have a map of all the major Cantrian cities' locations, if I can just find it...
A physical map would be cool, though, just to make apparent the gargantuan size of Drakonat City.
-
I'm thinking of making a flash animation of a gargantuan map size, like with Google Earth.
-
That would be cool, but how much work would it take?
