Title: Alliances
Post by: Zimmerwald on April 06, 2007, 04:45:43 PM

Okay, I've noticed Irnotia proposing an alliance to Saint Oz, I know I'm proposing an alliance to Confederate Freedom, Llanydern, Xyrael, and Uichi Ryu.  Very likely these will spark a cascade of alliances.

Will there be a map to record this?

I know Oz = busy, so if he is unwilling to do it, do we have any volunteers?  (I would but I've been unable to find a way to host something that large ;D)

making the map = okay, if time-consuming

hosting the map = major problem.

Just give me a list and the alliance and the color that they want... It'd take me 3 minutes flat...

I assume that you wouldn't mind updating it too, correct?

Oz you can decide on the color for the alliance between our nations

If you make it I'll host it on map.taijitu.org/alliances/

You'll have FTP access.

Whoops. Hadn't seen that when I posted. Idiot me. Oh well, it still stands that if someone does something that helps Taijitu, I am fully willing to get it hosted.

What's wrong with photobucket?

Photobucket is unreliable. Imageshack is better.

The best one is still http://upload.npcfighter.de/index.php?item=upload&lang=en ....
Sorry for the bad english there, it is the hosting service of a German/Austrian (don´t know), and the English translation is just some kind of...feature.

If you get something big, like the Taijitu map, it doesn't host it at its size.  It re-sizes it for some reason.  Oz tells me he uses flickr for the map.

Here's a link to an alliance map I made.

Red countries are full members of the UASS
Maroon countries are either likely to join or support the UASS

Tan countries are full members of the LCF
Brown countries are either likely to join or support LCF

Light blue countries are full members of whatever acronym the Annuminas Conference decides on
Grey-blue countries are likely to join or support the alliance that emerges from the Annuminas Conference

Very good G-C! I applaud your work

Even though now it looks more sided for the UASS It looks perfect.  :P

I'd like to point out Myroria is not as rightist as the other members of the LCF...we'd likely support the Annuminas Alliance to a degree.

Lol you know it's true.  Besides, even in the Lex we never saw a world controlled by the Left.  It was always the Right that moved destinies of states and peoples.  It'd be interesting to see how the Left's mismanagement of world affairs would differ from the Right's mismanagement. :fight:

even with a billion USD each soldier...they are humans and have their limits..and can be killed by a single bullet available for S$ 10.00   :-P

I dare you to remember that we are not morons.  We know our advantages lie in strategic position, population support, cohesion, and the ability to wage very effective defensive war.  We intend to fully exploit these advantages, especially as they effectively counterbalance your advantages of military strength and tactical prowess.

I dare you to remember that non-state actors can be extremely effective. O:-)

I also dare you to use Novus Parco's stats, rather than Ryazania's for your nation.

I never mentioned anything about you being morons, in fact I believe the opposite. I just believe that most of you have not read as much on military strategy and tactics as I have.

Speaking of defensive war, I propose that everyone at least get a geographical map, if not not a political/geographical one. Any nation not able to afford one can get some financial aid from myself or others with large bank accounts.

So did Westmoreland :trout:

In any case, whenever anybody does an RP war, they invariably ignore its effects on their own civilian population, and they ignore the effects of enemy propaganda on population.  It's sad, especially as that's one of our advantages.  Such is life.

And it is possible to create your own map...

I´m sure I won´t ignore this. My disciplined people are a major advantage to me; however, if the war will last for some time or Im under siege, they surely need some "help". I also will use secret service operations, assasinations, and propaganda attacks on other nations...

Besides, I really like putting in psychological components in RP - so my soldiers won´t be a mass of soul- and emotionless zombies with weapons^^.

I'm quite into military history and tactics, I wargame (fantasy, sci-fi and real life) and play many war sims and strategy games (there are differences) and in fact chose to do a course heavily slanted towards military history at A level (alas I am now a botanist so my official interest in the topic is now at an end) I've started writing a few essays on logistics and other major aspects of warfare which I hope to have finished before july (I'll distribute to anyone who wants them on here, they are very much for the intelligent layman rather then for the expert (also any feedback would be greatly appreciated))

now that i'm free of exams and coursework I'll be able to get into role playing more so hopefully this will become apparent.

Psyche is all ways fun I plan to RP most of it from eye witness (i'll be detailing what my forces intend to do OOC above it and then have whats going on at a lower level i.e. reporters, combat journals, diary enteries, letters home etc.)
