Vala Heavy Industries, Validus' primer arms manufacturer was invited to a conference between AC industrial heads to discuss the creation of the Aurorean Main Battle Tank.
"So gents, we are here for the development of a Main battle tank. Something that can make a Leopard or an Abrams die in battle. We are interested in a heavily armored, yet light tank with a 120mm cannon with a rifled barrel. A vehical which can have a small crew and not be very complicated to construct or repair."

We like the idea, but we're aiming for a repairing tank, basically a variation of what's going to be constructed here, but with enough gadgets to repair any tank in the battlefield.

Could that not be a variant of the main tank?

Of Course there will be different vehicles built off of this chasse. We can discuss those after we get this tank out of the way.

alright, ND only produces alloyed and composite materials, we don't have much better thing to give for tanks

We are currently looking for our main battle tank, and this could be it.
- Could it be suitable for cold weather and be able to cross open water
- Low or zero radar profile
- State of the art computers etc inside
- Light but not trade less armour for less weight

Varkour would like to be part of this project. Our Leclercs need replacing.

OOC: trust me, no tank produced or used by Validus will lack any sort of NBC survivability equipment.

VHI has been busy working at desigining the tank however, we would like to reduce production costs by brining in more governments. However we need more input into the tanks design. We would like to hear what you would like in the Tank. Somethings will be added but we need to make sure that what you want. We also want to make sure that the tank is lite enough to be air lifted. but strong enough to ensure survivability on the modern battlefield.

Can't we use special wheels in the tank instead of the tracks? It will make it lighter and fit for urban warfare.

Through tests done in the VHI proving grounds, we have seen that a heavy weighted tracked vehicle would be better in adverse conditions, as well as offroad capability and maneuvering. A lighter weighted vehicle would be better suited for the wheeled role then something greater then 25 tons, as it would put undue weight on the tires, which isnt needed. We can begin talks about a light weight Infantry Support Vehicle, which can come in both the wheeled and tracked verities.

We at TDI have been asked to represent Selid interests in this venture and also to share what conclusions we have come to during the course of Selid's search for a new indigenous MTB system to supplement the light tanks and gun vehicles we have already in operation. The first problem we came across was the fact that many of our goals were incompatible with one another. This led us to the conclusion that we require at least two separate vehicles now unfortunately this was at the time not an option to us which resulted in our government purchasing tanks from abroad, however due to our decision to enter the coalition it now becomes a possibility once more. Our plan is two have two main vehicles, an MBT designed to target enemies especially vehicles at range with good maneuverability and ideally as close to one shot kill as possible and a Tank Protection Vehicle with stronger armour then a MBT with weapons designed for close in protection such as rapid fire autocannons, grenade launchers and machine guns. Both of the aforementioned vehicles would be minimally crewed (3/4 men), easily repaired, have crew survivability in mind and be as simple as possible without sacrificing combat ability. Computor simulations of possible vehicles have shown that a ratio of 2:1 is optimal (which is the two and which is the one depends on whether it is urban or rural terrain). Gun vehicles and light tanks seem to be optimal for supporting infantry on the grounds that they are cheaper, lighter and also don't have dangerous engine exhausts/reactive armour fragments which can kill/injure infantry using the vehicle for cover as is often useful in urban environments.

IC: I would like to make a wheeled version of this tank, maybe transforming it into a light tank or APC.

Our recommendation would be to build a standard MBT, a TPV (Tank Protection Vehicle) and two standard multi-purpose vehicles (i.e. with variants for different situations based on the same basic vehicle) one lighter and wheeled (We'd like to put our nations own Patria AMV) and a heavier tracked vehicle (though it is questionable whether a tracked vehicle is necessary at all). There is the question of whether a light tank is obsolete due to the development of long ranged anti tank missiles like Brimstone and whether a light armoured vehicle would be better off with these due to the fact that targeting can be performed by other units using laser marking technology (so infantry and helicopters both of which have better survival rates against armour then light vehicles). However it cannot be denied that sometimes flat projectile big gun support is sometimes useful so we would suggest a gun vehicle with a smaller or low velocity gun for infantry support.
