If we don't want to go with four weeks, I think eight weeks is sufficiently long.

Eight weeks is certainly long enough, and four too short. I think 7 is a nice number, for no particularly good reason.

One month is the length of the in-game cycle, it seems fair, so why don't we just go with it?

You know, on second thought, I'll be changing my vote to 7 weeks. 7 is such a nice prime number, and 7 squared is such a nice term length.
