The Collosean Federation wishes to expand upon it's fledgling air force. We already know that we wish to contract 3 Il-76D's, 3 Il-78MKI's, and 1 Tu-95 AWACS for construction to be delivered to Collosea.

How much would this alone cost?

We also wish to contract some fighters and fighter/bombers. What do you have to offer, and what are their rates?

In the last decade, Loyanese arm manufacturers have been attempting to create a new generation of combat assault rifles to replace to aging MD-2 IMBEL series, specifically for arming Loyanese troops and the lucrative export market. Over the last few years, foreign series such as the excellent Xavier Arms line and reliable AK pattern guns have dominated the market. Now, Loyanese designers pit their latest creation against these popular rivals.

SRD-2 Allama

Introducing the Special Rifle Design Mark 2, christen as the Allama by it's designers. The SRD-2 is a one of a kind rifle, carrying traits that no other firearm in the international market possess. It is chamber for the unique 6.5mm Grendel (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/6.5_mm_Grendel) cartridge, a middle ground between the popular 5.56mm NATO and the AK pattern 7.62s. It outmatches the smaller 5.56mm in stopping power and accuracy, while still possessing flatter trajectory and higher velocity over the heavier 7.62. These two cartridges can largely be discarded in favor of the Grendel, as it possesses the advantages of both the 5.56 and 7.62.

SRD-2C (Standard Carbine) above.

The SRD-2 also uses a revolutionary new action invented by its designers. Called the double-spring action, the SRD-2 makes less use of the expanding gases in a gun to cycle its action, resulting in higher muzzle velocity and range as more of the gases are use in propelling the bullet. The double spring action also reduces the risk of jamming, as it uses a "sure thing" extractor. The trade off is a lower cycling rate, hence reduced rate of fire. However, combat studies has shown that high rate of fire in automatic weapons result in decrease accuracy and excessive recoil, hence a lower cycling rate can be a blessing in trained hands. A muzzle gas compensator further reduces the raise of barrel during automatic fire, hence increasing accuracy.

The SRD-2 is contructed of only high quality materials. Barrels and receivers are available in both titanium alloy and 3430 stainless steel. The body is molded from super-strength UHMWP and Aramic plastics. All parts are made to exact specifications, to insure that the rifle remains accurate and reliable throughout its service life. A variety of scopes and accessories can be fitted on the modular design and slot-and-lock rail.

Specs (Standard Carbine/Rifle):

Weight: 3.2 kg SS (unloaded) 2.8 kg TI (unloaded)             -              Weight: 3.5 kg SS (unloaded) 3.0 kg TI (unloaded)

We are looking for a heavier tank to supplement the light armoured vehicles already in service with the Serid security services, could you tell us more about the K-2

The K-2 represents the pinnacle of next generation tank development, outclassing third generation tanks such as the M1A1/2, Leopard 2, and Challenger 2. It has everything these older tanks have, and more. The following is a breakdown of it's features.

Electronics

The K-2 electronic system is akin to that of an advance fighter aircraft. It has it's own RADAR, capable of detecting incoming missiles and shells. The RADAR system is also hooked to the tank's 120mm L55 main gun, allowing it to track, lock, and shoot vehicle size targets automatically! Along with advanced fire control system, terrain stabilizers, and other ballistic electronics, the K-2 is easily the most accurate tank in the world: it will hit it's target whether the target or tank is moving, whether if the K-2 is rolling on uneven terrain, and even if the target is a fast flying helicopter.

There also comes your standard digital battlefield management system and navigation system for rapid coordination and increased situational awareness with your other units.

Protection

It's armour is the same as that of the M1A2, quite capable of withstanding hits from most RPGs and anti-tank weapons. Combine with our Kontak reactive armour blocks, nothing short of a near point-blank shot by a modern APFSDS round can penetrate it. Provided the enemy can get close enough...

Of course, no matter how much armour you put on, there will always be ordinances able to destroy a tank, hence our engineers have developed a Active Protection System to deal with these threats and minimize damage. This state of the art system equip three all-bearing LASER detection pods to pinpoint enemy tanks using laser range finders, radar/laser warning receivers and jammers. A automatic smoke grenade launcher disrupts any laser/thermal/visual guided missiles, allowing the tank to move to safety. A hard kill AWiSS system is also in place to destroy missiles/rockets with a RADAR tracked grenade launcher within 10 metres.

Weaponry

The K-2 comes with a 120mm main gun similar in performance to the M1 Abram and Leopard 2. Combine with the Fire Control System, it is easily the most deadly weapon a tank can possess. Like the radar naval guns placed on some modern warships, the 120mm can be used to destroy both ground and air targets at great ranges and accuracy. It's automatic engagement mode is a big plus. A selection tungsten penetrators, DU penetrators, and HEAT rounds is available. All rounds are loaded using a autoloader.

There are also two machines guns fitted, a roof mounted 12.7mm HMG and a 7.62mm placed coaxial to the main gun. The 12.7mm, like the main gun, is able to engage targets automatically using it's IR optics and IFF systems. This is very useful when entering areas riddled with enemy infantry, flushing out any insurgents that might engage your tank with AT weapons.

KSTAM

The Killer Smart Top Attack Munition is a sophisticated and indispensable part of the K-2. This guided EFP warhead is the "Divine Arrow" of all 120mm munitions. It will kill any tank within 8km by attacking the weakest part: the top. Most MBTs have a top armour plate of around 40mm, very thin compare to everywhere else. The KSTAM's explosively formed penetrator can easily punch through this thin plating. The penetrator also bypasses any reactive armour on top of an enemy vehicle.

The KSTAM has built-in guidance and obstacle-avoidance systems for navigation, small millimeter band RADAR and infrared sensors for target identification. Fins guide the munition to it's target after lock. The KSTAM can be fired behind cover and hit entrenched/hidden targets because of it's mortar-like trajectory. It is also a fire-and-forget weapon.

Other Features

-hydraulic suspension allows the tank to "sit", "stand", "kneel" or to "lean" in any direction.
-tank is able to ford up to 4 metres of water, compare to just one metre for the M1A2
-NBC protection
-TPS satnav link
-axillary power unit allows tank to operate with main engine off
-hazardous area sensors

We might replace the 12.7mm heavy machine gun with our 15mm heavy machine gun but apart from that it seems reasonably suitable.

We would like to purchase 25 as a preliminary purchase to be delivered as soon as possible with the option of purchasing another 50 after a year of service (shall we say 10% of cost as a down payment on the 50 to insure that they will be delivered quickly if required to replace our light tank force rather then just supplement it)
Title: Re: Made-in-Loyan
Post by: Union on January 04, 2008, 08:44:46 PM
Replacement with the 15mm is possible, but we advise against it as it decreases ammunition capacity and create excessive recoil that might degrade accuracy. Our engineers will explore the option for you.

Ten K-2s are in stock for immediate delivery. The next 15 will be rolling off the production line in the next 3 months. We will have 50+ K-2s in stock by next year (1 RL month) if you are interested. We have also set up an online client account for assisting you in purchasing ammunition and spare parts for the tanks. Pleasure doing business with you, hope you are satisfied with our product and services.

Your current balance due: $8,800,000 x 25 + $44,000,000= $264,000,000

How does the Leopard 2 compare against your K-2 Black Panther?

We are not at liberty to compare the Canadian Leopard 2 with the K-2. All we can say is the K-2 is more expensive.
