Well the Leopard 1 is an older tank made back in 1965. The Canadian government however uses the Leopard 1 as a secondary weapon and as a reserve tank. It still is a powerful tank in city warfare, because the Leopard 1 main armament doesn't have the range of it's modern descendant, it still can give a powerful punch in the close range warfare. Here are the stats for the Leopard 1.

Weight:   42.2 tonnes (on latter models increased from 40.0 tonnes on the original)[1]
Length:   9.54/8.29 m (gun forward/rearward)
Width: 3.37 m
Height:   2.39/2.70 m (turret roof/absolute)
Crew: 4 (commander, driver, gunner, radio operator/loader)
Armor:   RHA, 70 mm (maximum), 10mm (minimum)
Primary armament: 1 x 105mm Royal Ordnance L7A3 L/52 rifled gun
13 Round in Turret 42 Round in chassis
Secondary armament: 2 x 7.62 mm MG 3 (co-axial and commander's hatch)
5500 rounds
Engine: MTU MB 838 CaM 500, 10-cylinder, 37.4 litres, multi-fuel engine
830 PS (819 hp, 610 kW) at 2200 RPM
Power/weight: 19.6 PS/tonne Suspension   Torsion-bar
Operational range: 600 km (on road), 450 km (cross-country)
Speed: 65 km/h

Now the Leopard 2 is a powerful MBT and has replaced the Leopard 1 in that role. It's gun is stronger so the range is farther. The Leopard 2 is faster and smaller than the more cumbersome Leopard 1. The Leopard 2 unlike some of it's counterparts, can survive an explosive device. There were a few incidents during the South Continental Wars where Leopard 2s would hit IEDs and instead of explode, the tanks would continue on. The crew were never hurt. Here are the stats of the Leopard 2.

Weight:   62.3 tonnes
Length:   7.7 m
Width: 3.7 m [1]
Height:   3.0 m
Crew: 4 [1]
Armor:   3rd Generation composite; including high-hardness steel, tungsten and plastic filler with ceramic component.
Primary armament: 1 x 120 mm Rheinmetall L55 smoothbore gun.[1]
42 rounds
Secondary armament: 2 x 7.62 mm MG3 [1]
4,750 rounds
Engine:   MTU MB 873 Ka-501 12-cylinder diesel
1,500 HP(1,103 kW)at 2600 RPM.
Power/weight:   24.2 hp/tonne Suspension torsion-bar
Operational range: 550 km (internal fuel) [1]
Speed: 72 km/h [1]

How does the the Leopard 2 handle in sub-zero temperatures?

Since they were built in Canada, they have special liquid-cooling engines that will not freeze in sub-zero tempatures.

hmph, Americans making European tech. Anyway, watch Leopard 2 movies in Youtube, you'll see it rocks the hell of any other. Otherwise aim for Swedish stuff.

And how does it compare against the K-2 Black Panther (http://forum.taijitu.org/rp-shops/made-in-loyan/0/) ?

Well, the K-2 Black Panther is a very good tank, but the Leopard 2 is overall the better tank. The Leopard 2 operational range is 550 km and goes 72 mph. Also the Leopard 2 can operate uder 13 feet of water. The K2- Black Panther's operational range is 430 km and it's speed is 70 mph.
