Solving RP Chaos
« on: March 10, 2007, 08:19:00 PM »
Noting today's rather haphazard performance of RP involving Ryazania, I would request the following.

I believe there are several flaws with starting RP and conducting it in such a random "omg let's do it, damn the reasons" fashion
  • Involved nations must give direct approval
  • In cases of war, where direct approval is not logically going to be acquired, RP must be thorough, with actual reasons for engaging in war. In said thread where Bustos and Varkour attacked I saw no actual reasons behind the attack, and no attempts to persuade the populace it was the right thing to do. The only person ive seen to have not lied about the aims of a war was Saddam before he attacked Kuwait.
  • RP'ers must first make absolutely sure that the nation involved does not already have plans for their nation.
  • A nations own decision to handle it's sovereignty (such as Ryazania directly handing control of Ryazania to Myroria) should trump RP council decisions.
  • I would like it if said transition was RP'd but that's fine...

Baltija handed me his nation and territory, yet I did not get it...

And I don't. I'm not banned, and Ryazania doesn't just 'dissapear'(unless of course there is nuclear retaliation).

My point exactly.  Or, as Rya originally proposed, that is HAS collasped and nations want to secure its gold reserves as the reasons for invading.

About Baltija's actions, they are completely irrelevant.  Ryazania wants to RP with a new country, while Baltija was banned.  Besides, Ryazania can't disappear unless Oz consents to it, just like Oz could have, if he'd wanted to, kept Baltija on the map or split it into NPNs.

Point is, the two cases are different.

However, I don't know why I'm here, as I'm not participating in this RP, and I'm supposed to be condemning everyone who does ;)

Just surrendering the whole thing to Myro doesn't really do anything but make Myro more powerful, especially since the transition wasn't even RP'd. It's like birthday gift without the card. It ain't always the thought that counts, it's usually the receipt and the $50 inside the card that's worthwhile.

Also the fact that a few hundred thousand troops (Rya said this was the number of Myrorian troops in Ryazania) cannot secure 1.8+ billion people.

The people wouldn't exactly revolt. We've done nothing to anger them, and we've installed an autonomous government in Ryazania that can make laws at the colonial level. And Ryazania said that I now have control over Ryazania, case closed. You could attack it, but it shouldn't be in that thread, which is why I closed it. And, if you did attack us over some gold, your standing in the international community wouldn't exactly skyrocket.

With five nations attacking for gold, I doubt my international standing would drop all too much.  As if I care anyway.

My main concern at this juncture is: resources and finances of Ryazania, how are they to be dealt with by Myroria?

I've reached a truce with Varkour, came to a ceasefire with Oz, bombed Veramark into submission, and sold land to Dysanii. It looks like you're on your own.
