Citizens of Taijitu,
As you are by now probably aware, a large number of nations have been ejected from the region. You of course have questions, and I hope this will answer them, and alleviate many of the fears which you may have.
PoD Gunner, our Delegate, is very much in control of the region, this is not a rogue founder, nor is it a coup. This is also, in no way, shape, or form, a punitive action. The nations ejected are not banned from the region, or the forum, and while any nation ejected may return to Taijitu at any time, we ask the indulgence of these players, as valued and loyal citizens, to please keep your UN nation in The Rejected Realms until contacted by the Delegate. If you wish to move a puppet into Taijitu, feel free to do so, your citizenship will not be effected, and you will be doing your region an immense service.. As you read this, PoD Gunner is Telegramming the nations which have been ejected, informing them of these facts, and also advising of their right to legal redress should they wish to seek it.
So, if this isn’t a take over, or a banning spree, then what the hell is it?……
Approximately half an hour ago, upon order of the Delegate, Taijitu has launched the most massive invasion in the history of NationStates, over 200 nations involved with our DEN allies. Our objective is simple. To bring Democracy to The Rejected Realms, a region under the rule of a delegate who has been in power for the better part of three years. We plan on working as closely as possible with the citizens of TRR, to ensure they have the choice in leadership that they deserve, not a never ending regime.
We ask for, and hope for, your support and understanding. All laws of Taijitu are being adhered to, and the Senate will be addressed and kept up to date. As said before, this is not a punitive action, the owners of the nations ejected have commited no crimes, and are in good standing in this region.
With this action, we are making NS history, in capturing a game created region, and demonstrating the sheer Awesomeness of Taijitu. Tonight, each and everyone of you, are a part of NS history.
Thank you, and may the name Taijitu always be synonymous with Greatness.

As one of those nations selected without consent to be a part of an operation to "bring democracy" to the rejected realms I must ask what gives you the right to involve me in what sounds like a strictly military operation. The rejected realms is as much a sovereign region as any other and I am aghast to find that I have been drafted in a military action when my ethics are strictly against doing any such things. Why was I not asked before hand if I was interested in taking part in any such actions? Why do I find myself plunged into a war against a region which has never stood as a threat to me or to my personal liberties? Surely the Taijitu army is flush with those who would be willing to engage in any such wars. Why have you involved those outside said military?
Are these the kinds of actions we should learn to expect should you and PoD win the next elections?
I will leave my nations in the rejected realm as a sign of courtesy; but I will not take part in nominations of a delegate for the rejected realms without damn good reason.
-
While your courtesy is appreciated beyond words, you are not required to stay, nor will anyone here retaliate against you.
-
That does not answer my questions
-
There was not prior warning given due to the secrecy required to implement such an operation.
-
So I have been drafted into war against a sovereign region without my notification or consent for the pure reason of keeping said military actions a secret? What right do we as those who respect freedom and democracy have to enter into another region and institute a regime change? Furthermore what right do we have to strip those involved in such a deplorable action of their choice to take part? This seems like a violation of the first line of our constitution:
We the Undersigned, in the spirit of cooperation and fraternity, with the expressed and deliberate intent to combat tyranny and prejudice, and to promote democracy and fair justice, do hereby accept the tenets enumerated herein as the Supreme Law of Taijitu:
Where is the democracy or fairness in this action? I did however see this note in TRR
Dear Fellow NationStates Players,
Over three years ago, on February 27th, 2004 General Powell, founder of the DEN created a small raiding region with one goal, that history will record DEN as the most notorious, well-organized & disciplined raider army ever to grace the battlefield. Over this time we have taken many high profile regions, both defender owned and neutral but the one we hold very dear with us was when General Illuminated Ones captured Lazarus. It was DEN's first taste of a feeder capture, and we wanted more.
I am not here to waste my breath for no good reason, I am here to announce today the greatest DEN capture in our entire history, today I announce the capture of our second feeder in NationStates, today we captured The Rejected Realms. Many claim that the art of pure raiding is dead, and that there is a new way of raiding. We do not deny the new way of raiding, but we prefer the old classic way, with skill, cunning, and with allies who raid with us because of what we stand for. What we stand for is raiding regions because we can. We stand up against the ADN reformed under the name DSA, and their iron fist rule on this region for 1026 days.
Of course the DEN did not do this alone, in fact this entire raid could not have been done with out our good friends at Taijitu. This is a proud moment for both of our regions, and DEN is truly grateful to share the experience of capturing a Feeder with Taijitu isolating their region into NationStates History.
This raid was brought to you by the DEN, the most notorious, well-organized & disciplined raider army ever to grace the battlefield.
The Proud DEN FM,
Of Crazed
It seems to me this action was taken not for freedom, not for fairness, not for democracy, but to satisfy the egos of a few by violating the principals on which this very region is founded. Values which I hold dear and which until this very moment never doubted to be held dearly in the hearts of all Taijituans. I am disgusted by what has happened here today and feel this action stands as a vile blotch on our great history.
-
I made an account on this forum just to express my disgust and revulsion over what happen recently. Not only all my endorsements are now GONE, you used my country in an unprovoked raid over another region that never attacked TAIJITU. If the people that shaped this conspiracy are not brought in front of a justice court and replaced and held responsible for their action I will have no other way to protest but to leave TAIJITU for a region where Justice exists. Shame on those responsible for this madness.
-
I have filed a complaint on this matter with the Taijitu Supreme Court.
-
Very well, this autocratic decision, masquerading as an invasion, is just a way to boost the political power of the evildoers, by remove all democratic states from TAIJITU isolating them in an unwinnable war in the Rejected Realms, and removing the overall UN influence of the democratic states by eliminating their endorsements.
I hope that the responsible people in the Supreme Court will see the clear danger of the actual TAIJITU Executives that plunged the region into chaos, only to make means for their absolute control over the TAIJITU and removal of political opposition, by using a demagogical and populist war that will surely have a huge negative influence over the future and stability of this region.
This is indeed a very bad day for TAIJITU, we must act fast to avoid this from escalating and bring to justice the tyrants; we already lost a lot of good countries and as a word of advice, brace yourself for the future blowbacks that will come from this mad expansionistic unprovoked attack.

Taijituans,
although the action at today's up-date has brought some of you to doubt the values on which this region was founded, I pledge to demonstrate the contrary.
Taijitu has never been a region to ignore the military aspect of the game. In the last years in the history of this game however, this aspect has been ignored and put to sleep. I acknowledge the discontentment and revolt of some, and assure them this action will, by no means, be equivalent with any tyrannic regime or shift in our regime. All stays the same, although all has changed. It is the way this game has been since its beginnings. None of us is a hungry for power lunatic and this is by no means an act of such composure.
Some of you will disagree with the way things have been done, and believe me, this has not been done with an easy heart. Yes, there is the aspect of doing something great, to be remembered on, and this has been a characteristic of the game play for many. However, the way we have reacted after the move has been done, should indicate that this has not been our goal. None of us are in this game for a display of brute power, but if you fail to enjoy the fun aspect of the game, you have discovered one explanation for the downfall of this game.
Game play and real life should be two completely different issues. If we can agree on that, everything is fine and there's nothing that cannot be repaired.
We have chosen a path forTaijitu. Not all will see it as the right path. Democracy will prevail, whatever the situation.
There may be some reasoning I have failed to present to you at this moment. We will have time to debate all, as the situation unfolds. I will be at your disposal throughout the week-end.
PoD Gunner.

My objections have nothing to do with some blurring between RL and this game and I find that argument a little insulting. My objection is being forced to play the game in a certain matter because SOME people find it fun. SOME people enjoy square dancing, that doesn't mean we all should be forced to square dance as a result. There exists organizations within Taijitu for those who would like to raid, and if you'd like to encourage more people to join those organizations then by all means do so. But those of us who have opted to stay out of those organizations should not have our wishes disregarded. Be it a great conquest or a shameful act, it was never your right to force us to play the game in a specific manner simply because some people - yourself included - choose to play that way.
-
I have mixed feelings. Militarily, this was pure genius! From that POV, I understand both the secrecy and the need to involve non-army UN nations. I wasn't involved myself because my UN was elsewhere, ironically because it seemed somewhat boring (gameplay-wise) here. But if I had been, I would still say the same.
However, Taco has a point. Not everyone wants to raid, and I can understand how some people would be upset about that.
I just hope that this doesn't damage Taijitu.
-
Too late. It already has. It may take a while for the rest of the tree to notice what has happened, but the heart has been blasted by this.
-
Only if we allow that to happen. Before acting, I have acknowledged that this might be the case, and I am willing to do what it takes to avoid the further damage to the spirit of Taijitu. To all saying that the hart has been blasted: I understand the revolt, but think again before drawing the wrong conclusions. This region will stay tall, with or without me or others, as long as we do not start hitting on each other. The strength comes from within.
-
Firstly I would say well done, the plan is not original and has been considered by various groups before but you certainly have shaken up the game slightly and if you plan to stay will have certainly changed the entire makeup of NationStates.
From a personal view however, it is not this region's job to impose democracy on another region, especially The Rejected Realms, which cannot support a proper democracy due to its lack of an eject button. I sincerely hope that this does not damage the reputation of Taijitu.
Also, The North Pacific demands a full and truthful statement on the matter.
-
The irony... you talk about bringing democracy to The Rejected Realms when the decision to invade the region is autocratic by nature, together with the abuse of power in which a large number of democratic states were kicked out of Taijitu costing them all their endorsements (given or received).
-
I ask all of those who are concerned about what happened to see the Senate and the motion to impeach PoD from his office.
-
What about the motion of withdrawal?
-
And being ejected from the region to participate in this war before being consented about it is democratic how...?
-
Ok, now that I have more time on my hands I can explain why I'm pretty ticked off by this.
Mainly my concern is for others in the region: Those with a large number of endorsements that lost them due to being ejected and those that weren't in the army (like me). The fact that we were lied to when it was said that it was for "spreading democracy," and to me seems like a lie and nothing more than an ego trip, and even if it was for "spreading democracy," it was the complete wrong way to go about it. Forcing a region into a certain government is hardly democratic. Lastly there's this little, totally unimportant document called "the constitution" that was violated in the process, which Taco pointed out.
I'm all for raiding, even for a self-centered ego trip, but I don't appreciate being lied too and I don't appreciate that those who didn't want to do it were forced too.
I've moved back to Taijitu, I'll be damned if Dixie or Gunner get my endorsements, and I'm all for his impeachment.
-
I would ask that you endorse not to show support but to protect our now weakened position. The current delegate in Taijitu has a scant 73 endorsements right now which could easily be taken in a counter strike against us. I like yesterday better when I didn't have to worry about retaliation or keeping the region in the hands of the legally elected delegate.
-
We are a founder region, Taco. We stand no real threat of being invaded.
-
ughhhh i think this was just plain stupid. not the act itself but the lack of checking if it was what the community wanted. my confidence in your decision making has definately taken a blow.
-
I am and have always been strictly anti-raiding, though I respect the desires of others to engage in such actions as they please. Logging in after a weekend away to find that my nation has been forced into a military pursuit upsets me, quite frankly. If someone asks me if I have ever participated in a raid I must now answer 'yes' to be truthful, though I would not have chosen it.
Also, this affects Ambassadors rather severely. We represent Taijitu to other regions and they will naturally associate us personally with this action whether we supported, or were even around for it, or not. I just became our Ambassador to Equilism (an officially anti-raider region) on Friday and they want action against our leadership at this point.
Anyhow, I have re-entered Taijitu and am endorsing those who need it to ensure the safety of our elected leaders' positions. I hope that we learn from this and that our community may recover quickly.
