Ok, this thread serves to answer any questions you may have about our army, or joining it. Let me start with one that I'm sure is on alot of minds......
Q: I said I wanted to join a while ago.... no one contacted me.. what the fuck?!?!?
A: Sorry, basically, what we've been doing is creating a region from scratch, we've had to prioritise, so things like drafting our Constitution and creating the Senate came first. We are now at the point though that we're going to begin creating our army in earnest. I thank you all for your patience, and rest assured, you'll be contacted shortly! :)
Q: When do we go on missions? I wanna kick some ass! PWNAGE!!!
A: You'll all need training, even us experienced players are going to take a refresher course, then we will conduct some training drills. Once that is complete, then you will be ready for deployment.
Q: What do I need to join?
A: To be a citzen of Taijitu, and to have a UN nation. That's all you need to start!
-
Q. How do I become a commander or sub commander in the Army?
-
A: In much the same way as you do in an RL army, by exmplifying comptetence and skill in the field, and showing leadershp ability.
-
How often will this army be used? My UN nation is often elsewhere.
-
As a follow-up to Bustos' question.
Q. If one first needs to show exemplary skills in raiding/defending to become a commander, who leads our armies first?
-
Q: Our nation will not be required to participate in Military engagements, right?
-
A. If you sign up for the army, it will be required.
-
sorry if this has been asked before but how do u wage war anyway?
-
is there nethin else needed apart from needing un status and local region residency?
-
Another stupid question...
Say I did 'sign-up,' could Gnoled Ttam's forces be used just for defense and not for offense?
-
WHERES THE FRIEKIN BARRACKS?!

A clarification:
Warfare in NationStates consists in moving UN nations around to take control of the UN delegacies of regions. RP national forces and strengths have nothing to do with it.
Also, signing up for the Taijitu Army would be considered a full commitment to both offensive and defensive actions. Once you're in the army you don't chose which wars to fight.
WHERES THE FRIEKIN BARRACKS?!
I don't think you're in the army just yet, I'm sorry. When Merlin gets back you can talk to him about that.
Simple (Shagras) I can accept your application, but you must understand that you will also be sent on invasion missions as well as defense.
-
can i join. sounds interesting. know small regions that you can take. 20 semod nations
un=orientalnazis region=terre
-
Is there like an army roster of all the people who are in the army?
-
I believe I(and maybe Elu) are the only ones who actually have an official roster. I don't feel that I should release an actual one for security purposes.
-
That's logical.
-
can i just start out i havent played ns in 2 years
-
You have to be a citizen first.
-
I just got this Telegram (from a nation in Catlandatopia)
=======
Recruiting from the game created regions is legal. They are known as "feeders". Recruiting from player created regions such as Catlandatopia is illegal and will get any nation that does it deleted. The regions you may recruit in are: The Pacific, Lazarus, The rejected realms, the various warzones, the North, South, East, and West pacifics.
It is understandable that the game protects player created regions. It takes a lot of work to build numbers up. Some lazy region should not be allowed to capitalize off somebody else's work. I believe we have had more than a dozen players deleted for recruiting in this region.
I hope that all helps.
=======
Actually I did nothing that caused this. Any idea what it is?
Tigris
-
Are you a recruiter?
-
No, he isn't.
-
I sent out exactly 0 telegram since I joined Taijitu even for Taijitu nations.
-
respond to the TG and while saying you've send no recruitment message, ask for clarification, in a nice but ferm tone of voice. Do not call them idiots, they usually resent that. ;)
-
ok, I sent this:
Ugh.
Your TG was received stop It is a little bit cryptic as I've sent out no telegrams at all since I joined Taijitu stop Of course in general everything is understandable stop If you sent your telegram because of concrete happenings please notify me stop.
Thank you.
-
 very concise, very firm, am curious about the response.
-
If you get on the bad side of Catlandtopia, they will make up info, and then take irrelevant information out of context to make you look bad. Take it from me...
-
In the future, please keep discussion in this thread to matters of MILITARY RELEVANCE.
-
Sry, I was only a few day old in the game, knowing NOTHING about military, and then I got that TG. I still do not know what belongs to military and what not; how wars are fought - using such TGs or not. I just wanted to get help handling it. Maybe my judgment was wrong about the TG being military kind but such mistakes from rookies will always happen for sure. Dixie please show the way: if not here then where and how to figure it out when you are a newbie?
-
Where can i sign
i will help where i can
-
once your citizenship application is accepted please post in the thread found here (http://forum.taijitu.org/office-of-the-minister-of-defense/joining-the-army)

Hello,
also I have been here for quite some time I spent most of it in the RP section (Wonderful place ;D).
Only recently I have looked around other places in Taijitu and I like it here.
Now I want to make myself useful. I’m thinking about becoming a citizen and joining the military.
Problem is: I have ABSOLUTELY NO idea about the military here.
What is it’s reason for existence, what does it do and how can one help the region by joining. What are the duties.
I have only started with NationStates a month ago and I have heard about “raiding regions” and “expelling” or “pushing out” nations and such.
I have however no idea what this is about.
So if somebody could tell me something about it or point me to the information that would be nice.
-
Basically, raiding involves sending a bunch of UN nations into another region and seizing the Delegacy. Once the raiding nation has the Delegacy, he can change the World Factbook Entry, and kick other nations out of the region.
-
This is the best and oldest raider region in the game.

Eh? Ah.
EDIT: I had not noticed the link in your post.
-
I'm currently in a defender force. If I am permitted by my defender commander there to serve in other regions' armies as long as there's no conflict, may I serve here?
Thanks :)

I cannot say.
-
Well can someone please answer my question if you are not able to?
Thanks :)
-
Do I have to have an available UN nation to join?
I can and am, very useful intelligence wise.

Well, if you are in the army, or any regional military, a UN nation is required, I believe?

AFAIK, an available UN nation has always been required. However, Durnia does have a point. Though the "brawn" of the military has to be UN, I would think there should be positions that don't require a UN nation. JMO.
-
Like the Department of Covering Up?
-
Like the Department of Covering Up?
They have that department?
-
*shuffles through papers* If so, I must have misplaced the memo.
-
Currently to join the army you need a UN nation. Also, everyone if you cant answer or have a question dont post in here.

You need a UN to be in the army, however you could contact St. Oz about doing work for the Ministry of Regional Security.
Or you could pass some things my way in exchange for a few tai :P
-
Heh, I'll keep that in mind.
-

Please use sentences to communicate. It makes it easier to understand you.
I will look into the matter.

Question 1: I read about the exercise in Warzone Africa. Will a similar exercise be taking place anytime soon? If so, where? when?
Question 2: The OP mentioned that Taijitu's Army may be used to defend our allies. Which regions are we allied to?
-
I have one question. If I joined the Taijitu Army would I have to participate in every attack we make or every defense we make? Let's say that I can't attend one because of too much work or something, will I get kicked out?
-

1: If there is interest there will be more exercises. It looks like there will be another one. The time and place will be delivered to members via PM once I have them sorted.
2: The regions we have an embassy open with.
-

No, obviously you cant take part in attacks you are not there for. Nor, would I kick you out. However it would be nice to make as many missions as we can.
-
Let's say one of our allies goes on a raid. They are kicked out and counter-attacked in their home region. Are we obligated to defend them?
-
Will there be announcements as to when exercises are and when we are to invade or defend another region?
-

Obligated, no.
-

All orders will be sent via PM.
-
So I have a question. Who exactly is in command of the army? And are there any other people that can send out orders besides the big cheese?
-
Question;
Is it possible to (succesfully) invade a region whose founder is still around? Do they retain the ability to do whatever they want with the region even if they're not delegate?
EDIT: Also, call me a newb, but what's a warzone?
-
i'd like to sign up. i have personal experience. where do i enlist?
-
You enlist in the thread in the MoD office
You can "invade" a region with a founder, but it is a waste of our time. They might be in full controll for a bit, but if the founder is active he can stop the situation.
A warzone is a game created region for training.
Currently I am "in charge" but elections just happened.
-
I am not a member of the armed forces but I would like to ask something.
I will probably have a load of time on my hands around Christmas.
So the question is Does the Army have any rank insignia?
If not I would be willing to sit down and make some.
(May take till January tough cause sometimes I get lazy :D)
However I would need to know what ranks there are and how they are named.
-
Ty, Pachamama, your offer is generous. I will get back to you.
-
How will you contact us once we apply to join? Via NS or the Forum? And how will we know our missions?
