The Empire ABSTAINS

Reason: The Illuminate believes that the topic in question is an issue concerning the subjects and not an international body. Should the topic in question be discovered unlawful, the Illuminate will reconsider its vote.

What a weird thing, i try to post here and it redirects to senate elections, i could only post quoting someone and deleting the quote...fix fix fix fix fix...

anyway, i forgot to tell you why i made this...

IC: When we first knew that the situation changed there was people saying it doesn't make any sense...well..it doesn't after all. I'm inclined to vote Against, so that we can repeal Enigma. Protection of interests is unacceptable, unless it's a protection of peace, which was already broken. Although, if the situation gets worse and humanitarian, unnecessary destruction or the unjustified murdering of civilians can bring New Delfos to a direct justified response without the concern of IPO. Efforts are being made to end the conflict, and New Delfos wishes that both sides shall be pressured to diplomacy. But it is not a Peace Organization business to intervene in the middle of an armed conflict, endangering the neutrality and the true interests of this organization.

I agree with Delfos.

But I would like to propose to send at least a group of observers including all IPO nations to survey the proceedings and give information to Humanitarian organizations and governmental bodies on unnecessary destruction or the unjustified murdering of civilians.
Maybe we could provide some protection to those organizations but I am not sure if this is a good idea.
For this to work we should contact both sides (Yes even Him) to agree on the neutral status of IPO unit's that will not take sides in this war and may only defend themselves if attacked.
The power we hold comes from our citizens.
And they may take it away as well.

A buffer zone can maintain peace, but it is too late for that.  Do you think the aggressor guessed the intention of Winter Shield, or do you think it was just a coincidence?  Whichever way, we are too late now to intervene.  There will be a war.  If you wish to abandon our high ideals of world peace and universal prosperity and degrade IPO to a mere military alliance protecting the interests of its member nations, by all means, continue the operation.  Otherwise, let us focus our attention on wars that may yet be prevented.

I respect everything that IPO stands for and even though I voted for, I believe at this point there is no going back for the defender. If he comes out of this war victorious, then he may make sure a second invasion doesn't happen and then perhaps we can move peacekeepers in to keep that second war from happening. Even if we can't stop this one, we can stop the next one.

I agree, but we shouldn't intervene in the middle of the armed conflict, so we will just wait for the guns to cool down. Or...everyone votes FOR here and we go there and try to stop it...

There will be no stopping. The only way this will end is either He wins and forces terms or our friend wins and he forces terms, which will be harsh as I have been informed.
