Hello,I am new to this NationStates game and I have realised, more often than not, whenever I sign a neutral stance into legislation,I suffer more than when i take sides. Is this a glitch?I hope not.Anyway, give me some tips about NationStates :p

Hi,

this is a very cool avatar that you should use in your forum profile instead of that ceramic thing:

It's really cool man!

Delfos, please don't influence him.

Otherwise, please understand that NationStates is, objectively, a left-winged game.  A socialist nation just will do better than a free-market one.  That said, I think you should just pick the option in Issues that fits in most with your viewpoints.  Your nation will eventually get better over time.

This is definitely false. If you want an example of that, look at [nation]Funkadelia[/nation], a free market nation with a very hands off government. My nation is extremely successful.

By stats I presume you mean Civil Rights, Economy and all that. If you want them all green (very high), act like a goody-two-shoes when picking Issue options. You'll get there eventually.

But why not join a Corporate Police State like me and just choose the option that gets you higher Economy. Disregard the environment, disregard your people, and disregard the elections. Choose the option with money.

I'm bit saying it's impossible, but it takes a LOT more time to get your stats high with a right-winged nation.

It's easy to up your Political and often your Civil rights in a left-winged nation but it takes fucking forever to develop a non-terrible Economy rating. I have to strike a very careful balance with issue responses or mine tanks!

Very true.  I'm still in the process of bringing up my Economy.  It's especially tough for me because of my "punitive tax rates."

Yeah, my tax rates have been between 95-99% for as long as I can remember. >_<

The biggest breakthrough was when I realized you can subsidize businesses through certain issues without destroying your environment. Every time one of those comes around I shove a bunch of cash at some industry or other. Makes a big difference!
