Hey guys

Saw a link to nationstates on reddit and thought it looked interesting enough to try ... then from the telegram spam I thought this region sounded most interesting so here I am.

The whole region, wa and game in general seems very overwhelming, what's a good way to ease into it?

I think focusing on one aspect of NS at first helps it seem less overwhelming. We're in the process of writing guides, but currently the only finished one is about Taijituan politics. You can read it in the guides subforum, visible from the main page, if you'd like.

If writing fiction is your style, you could participate in our worldbuilding community - here you can write stories about your nation - talk about its politics and how it interacts with other nations. We're going to be starting a collaborative thing about a world war soon, and we're always looking for more contributors.

You could also apply for the Citizen's Militia by finding its subforum located below the Ecclesia's. Here you can participate in NationStates gameplay, and help liberate regions from the clutches of oppressors using the game's WA mechanics. Gulliver, the elected head of the Militia, can give you more information on this if you'd like.

There's also the more casual social aspect of Taijitu - discuss anything you might like under the General Discussion and Real Life forums.

NS can definitely be overwhelming, but any of us would be happy to help you acclimate! Welcome to Taijitu!
