I've always wondered about this. Why do citizens and senators etc need to disclose their UN nation to the region. Is there some over bearing security issue that I am blissfully unaware of? Is the government just being nosy? Does it contribute to a stronger, more stable region?
Sarcasm over, I really would like to know why everyone else thinks they should know what my UN nation is.
-
well, most of the senators out there don't even have nation in UN, unless i don't know what you are talking about.
-
I believe we give them out so as to give the MoRS a better idea of our identity; one IP address cannot have multiple UN nations, so by asking what it is it becomes simpler to ensure that one person does not obtain multiple Citizenships, seats in the Senate, etc. in order to take advantage of the system or gain undue influence.
(It's my impression that most of our Senators do have a UN nation in NS, Delfos. ^_^)
-
That may be, but I know for a fact that IP's are logged on the forum.
-
This is true, though I imagine it would be a bit of a pain in the tush to keep track of everyone's IP's here (unless, of course, there's some sort of pretty program within the forum system to keep track of such things that only the admins can see and of which I am clearly woefully ignorant). :P

Fair play, but the point I was trying to make is that if someone really wants to infiltrate the forums or some such, they can quite easily lie.
Also, I would think there is some for of IP indexing on a forum like SMF, but I'm no expert.

The region where a person keeps their UN nation gives a clue as to where their deepest loyalties lie. And I used the word "clue" there because it's merely that, but that's more than nothing.
-
Okay, but then the question is "What business does this region have knowing where my deepest loyalties lie?"

IMO, it's not so much where your loyalty is, but where your activity is (which may or may not be the same thing). It might raise some eyebrows if your UN nation was in a region that was known to be hostile to Taijitu, or if it was seen invading an ally of Taijitu.
-
So, what it boils down to is that the region is afraid that we are going to embarrass them.

Word up. :-\
