Wedding of Emperor Paul I

Breaking News!! Emperor Paul of Canada Gets Married!!

Today is a glorious day for the Empire of Canada. Today, not only will Princess Jordan be hailed as the Queen of Annabe (Quebec), but our Emperor Paul I will be married to an unknown half-Feye from Fenexia. This marriage will bring the two nations closer together. The Emperor just arrived in the Canadian capital of Winnipeg and will be going to the St. John's Cathedral, where the wedding is scheduled to happen. Foreign delegates are arriving to see the marriage of one of the most powerful men on this continent. All Hail the New Empress!

Paul paced back in forth in his changing room, waiting for the Fenexian Imperial Family. He knew that the Feye he would be marrying will not be part of the Fenexian Imperial Family, but he just wants to talk to them before the wedding. It's too bad that Jordan isn't here, but she has her own things to do. Like govern her own country. The door slowly opened.

As the door finally was opened, 9 humanoids stepped in, led by the Emperor and the Empress themselves. They were flanked from two High Guardsmen and two of their female pendants.
A few steps behind Emperor Nathaniel and Empress Miray, there was one male human, already very old and with few grey hair, a Feye, easily remarkable by her white skin and hair, looking as beeing about thirty, and their younger looking daughter. She, like the other Feyes, was very attractive looking - her shoulder-long, pure white hair, her very pale, but also very beautiful face, and the rest of her. She was dressed in a white silk robe, wearing a Tiara similar to the one Miray was wearing, but a bit simpler looking, as far this is possible for such a thing, made from white cristal. She was looking around in the church very interested - she had heard from many religions, but this is a whole new experience for her. Shortly before the groop reached the prince, they reformated, so, that now all except the guards were in one row. Then, all bowed (OOC: japanese style) - old Feniexian tradition -, awaiting, that the prince is doing the same.

OOC: The Emperor is the one getting married. He's not that old. He's still in his mid-twenties.

Emperor Paul I gave the Canadian bow (roman style) with his hand to his heart. He turned to Emperor Nathaniel. "Hello, Empeor Nathaniel. I want to thank you for your country's continued help in Anchorage and your wife's presence at the Summit." he went to the Empress and kissed her hand, shook the old man's hand, kissed the unknown Feye's hand and did the same to the her daughter. But somthing happened deep in the Emperor. He felt like he was staring into the eyes of the most beautiful creature on the planet. "What is your name?" he asked slowly and softly.

All ended the bowing, the guards kept on for some seconds longer than the others.
The Empress let Paul kiss her hand, accepting that such is not very well seen in Feniexia, but knowing this is a sign of appreciation in other cultures. She smiled a bit.

"What is your name?"
"Selene Shanya."
[short break]
"You will be my husband..? I already heard much about you. I am pleased to see you now in natura." she answered in perfect, accent free english, with a voice as pleasantly as her look.
"May I also introduce my parents? This [she looked towards the until now unknown Feye] is Cyra Shanya, my mother, and the man standing next to her, [she looked towards him] is Nagato Akechi, my father."

"Only good things." Selene said with a weak smile. Then, she begun to answer his questions...
"I learned inglish in one of Feniexia´s schools. Inglish is learned in our nation like a second main language...besides, I had more than enough time to learn...My parents? Oh, my father is one of our honorable Generals [Akechi looked very proud], my mother works in the Council, as you might already heard, as High Councilless for Transport Systems and Energy Management."

OOC: Is she nervous or something?

IC: I have heard of your mother. Your father seems like the proud military type. Perhaps you can teach me the Feye language and I can teach you Canada's most beautiful language, Quebecois.  Just one more question, before the wedding starts. Why did you want to do this?

OOC: Not really. She is just trying to hold back a bit, because she has a very polite, traditional Feniexian character.

She nodded. "Yes, you are right about my father. But he has all right to be proud.." Selene said, with a little smile. "About your offering concerning our languages...I might not be the best speaker, but I think I could teach you a bit..but I think it would be better to learn from a qualified teacher. Our language is very complex, and is not very widely spoken. However, I would be pleased to learn more in-depth things about your nation and culture, including it´s language."

Then, she took a short break, before answering his last question.

"This marriage was arranged by the Council - but unlike in other countries, I had the choice of refusing. But I agreed...I´m getting old. You might not noticed that, but in fact, I´m over hundred years old. Yes, I have a very extended lifespan, and I might even live long enough to pass your death...but it is not only this. I learned much about you and your culture; I liked bot hvery much. I hoped so much, you would be as...erm..nice as I thought, but you even surpassed this."

Again, she smiled.

"Well, I'll be happy to show you my country and teach you our culture." The Patriarch walked in. "Are you all ready to do this?" Paul and Selene smiled and nodded. They walked down the aisle in front of many people. Delegates from other countries, and represeantives from the Canadian colonial possesions were there, as well as members of Parliament. The Patriarch stood on the altar as the pair kneeled before the priest. "Let us begin." said the Patriarch. he turned to Paul first. "Do you, Paul Artorion I, take as your bride Selene Shayne to be your lawfully wedded wife, till death do you part?

Paul: "I do."

Patriarch: "Then give her the ring. Then say the oath."

Paul: "I, Paul Artorion take you, Selene Shayne to be my wedded wife in sickness and in health. To love and charish the passing days. Till death do we part."

The the Patriarch turned to Selene.

Selene awaited the Patriarch to continue his speech, calmly, but smiling.

Patriarch: Do you, Selene Shayne take Paul Artorion to be your lawfully wedded husband till death do you part?

Selene: I do.

Patriarch: Then give him the ring, then say the oath.

Selene: I, Selene Shayne take you, Paul Artorion to be my wedded husband in sickness and in health. To love and charish the passing days. Till death do we part.

Patriarch: By the power vested in me by the Lutheran Church of Canada, I now pronounce you man and wife. You may kiss the bride.

The newlyweds embraced each other slowly and everyone could see that indeed there was love there. When they finished, the Patriarch removed Selene's tiara and pulled out of a beautiful box, a bigger, grander tiara. He placed it on Selene's head. "All Hail Selene Artorion, Empress of Canada and Queen of the Cree Nations and the Imperial Dominions."
The quests cheered and clapped. For the first time in ten years, there was an Empress in Canada. Paul and Selene looked at each other and smiled.

(Backstages, after the official wedding ceremony):

Nagato, smiling over the whole face, slowly walked towards Paul, bowed, and then said:
"Hope you will have a good time with my stepdaughter..."
Then, looking in the direction of Selene:
"I wish you a good time too...I hope this old man of me can come and visit you some time?"
Again, he turned to Paul.
"So, we had celebrated the wedding itself in your cultures style...how would you like to recelebrate the whole thing like we Feniexians do? Would be nice for you to learn a bit abot of us, besides [he lowered his voice] there will be lots of good Feniexian food specialities and sake."

"I would love to do this all over again." replied Paul, holding Selene's hand. "I would like to try this...sake. I have never been to Fenexia and I would love to see your country."
