Title: The People's War
Post by: Zimmerwald on January 06, 2007, 03:35:42 AM
OOC: The first few posts in this thread are for introductions to characters only.  I got impatient waiting for the map, and decided that terrain was not necessary for the opening posts of this RP.  It will be necessary when you all send in your legions to try to end the People's War, but not yet.

IC: The Union of Gallipoli-China, December 5, 2006.

"We interrupt your regularly scheduled programing to bring you this urgent message," purred the perfectly groomed announcer on the National Broadcaster of Gallipoli-China's nightly news program.

"It is with great pleasure that I announce that our long national nightmare is over.  The contest between the Center Party and the National Party over twelve fractious seats in the Parliament has been decided in favor of the Nationalists.  They now officially control a majority, and have embraced the opportunity to advance the agenda they've been pushing for the past twenty years.  Mr. Nauss Euryl, the Party's leader, and the man who will take over as Prime Minister, had this to say."

Quote
Friends, we now have the opportunity to spread our influence, the influence of our country, of our race, throughout the world.  My party, as promised in the campaign will use this power to protect you from enemies both foreign and domestic.  Lower races, Communists, liberals of all stripes threaten the security of this country, and I will not let them destroy what we have worked so hard to build.  I will do everything in my power to make sure this doesn't happen.

"It is unclear what exactly the Prime Minister means by this announcement, but the nation holds its breath to await the beginning of the first Nationalist government."

"I told you blaming our troubles on those upstart Commies would work," muttered Machus (MAKK-us) Dion, Euryl's right hand man.  Dion had been appointed Minister for Internal Affairs after the election had been decided, and had served as the campaign strategist before that.  It had been his idea to base their campaign not only on promises of national greatness, but by smearing their opponants visciously.

In another time, another place, he might have ruled himself, but he was content to manage police and prisons for the Union.  The Internal Affairs Ministry had always been powerful.  Now it would be more so.

"And?  We won.  It's not like there'll be more elections to worry about."

"Of course, Prime Minister.  Once everything's set in motion, it won't matter what the people think or not."

As Machus put it, things were "being set in motion."  The Parliament wouldn't be called into session for another few weeks, and the government was making the most of the opportunity.  Citizens in the capitol, PIUC (yes, the terminology's remaining the same), remarked at the massive amounts of yellow tape, and at the black vans surrounding the Parliament building, but nobody thought to ask any questions.  Probably just refurbishment.

If you want to bring down a building, go for the foundations.  Bringing down the Parliament building was precisely what Euryl and Machus wanted to avoid, so the foundations were scrupulously left alone.  However, explosives were embedded in the walls, and gasoline left to soak into the carpet.

One day before Parliament was to convene, the vans left, the tape was removed, and Parliament House shone gleaming in the sun, the mirrored dome flashing like a beacon to all in the vicinity.

In ranks of three, Parliament strode into the building, and each of the two hundred members took their seats in the rotunda.  A few Nationalist deputies were conspicuously absent, but nobody minded.  There was no tension in the air; Parliament was an old boys’ club in the truest sense of the word.  Before the meeting was called to order, there was much backslapping, handshaking, and various pleasantries being exchanged between people who officially couldn’t stand each other.

The Speaker’s gavel tapped.

And then a much louder bang was heard.

“There it is.”

“It looked like it was going to be late.”

“I told you it wouldn’t be.”

“Have you captured Luxembourg?”

“Yes, everything’s gone as planned.  He’ll be executed tomorrow after the remaining Parliament members finish preparing their final Act.”

“We’d better go cast our votes, eh?”

“Indeed.”

Yesterday, this nation was hit by a terrible tragedy.  Your representatives were killed by the vile Communists.  Their leader has been arrested and found guilty of this crime.  He will be hung at ground zero this time tomorrow.

The members of Parliament who escaped this brutal crime have given me the power to do away with this menace once and for all.  For you, my people, I will accept that power.  For you I will use it.  Good day.

In the small town of Corfu, a stronghold of the Social Democratic Party of Gallipoli-China, the leadership was gathering.  This was too much; defeat at the polls, purges, killing of Deputies.  The Party would not stand for this, and neither, the leadership hoped, would the people.

They were demoralized by news of Comrade Luxembourg’s capture; he had founded the Party thirty years ago.  He had come within a hair’s breadth of leading the government.  He was their most capable speaker and organizer.  But he was gone.  It was up to these young, mediocre nonentities to lead the resistance to a megalomaniacal regime.

And still, they came.  Both High and Low Gallipoli, Chinese, and a smattering of relatively recent immigrants.

OOC: yes, you've seen these names before, and I doubt you'll care.

IC: "Where have you been, Viktor?" asked a young woman, who was absently flipping through the pages a well-thumbed manuscript.  "We've been waiting for twenty minutes."

"I've been dodging patrols, Lin.  Somebody's suspicious.  I heard planes."

"You and your planes," sneered a tall man lounging with his chair tilted back.

"Yes, me and my planes, Feng.  I bother with security."

"Come on, you two.  Don't begin like this."  Aram looked up from the newscast he was streaming.  "We're here to combat the Fascists, and we'd better damn well do it."

"How?" asked Lin.  "The population doesn't support us; we came in third in the election."

"And whose fault is that?" asked Feng.  Lin, who had been in charge of advertising, and whose department had been stymied by lack of funds, glowered him, but said nothing.

"We'll have to wait 'till the next election," murmured Viktor gloomily.

"That won't happen," said Feng, acting seriously for the first time.  Aram agreed.

"You've seen the PM's speeches.  He's 'cracking down,' and that means us.  This new War Powers Act, it gives him almost unlimited power."

"And how can we go about resisting it, Aram!?  There's no way to do so without killing thousands of people."

"Class traitors, the lot of them."

"What do you know about it, Lin."

"Have you read Comrade Luxembourg's latest manuscript?  It shows exactly how to go about a People's War.  Why the bastards had to arrest him before it got published..."

"Don't you still have your presses?  Publish it yourself."

"But-"

"Do it.  Now-"  Aram broke off.  He had been about to give instructions to the small Party leadership, but had been distracted by a sound outside.  He abbreviated.  "You know what you're best at.  Now get out of here.  Now!"

It wasn't a moment too soon.  Two minutes later, Special Ops entered the now deserted warehouse, to find the birds had flown the coop.

Euryl took to the television again, this time delivering something completely different; more fear.
Quote
The head may have been cut off, but the body lives.  Our intelligence shows that the traitor Communists have taken refuge in Corfu.  Until they are found, the entire city can be considered traitors to the security of the nation.  All citizens will be questioned.  All failing to tell what they know will be shot.  If the traitors are not found, the city will be bombed.

Posted on: January 06, 2007, 06:52:43 PM
Planes roared over Corfu.  Wave after wave of them pounded the city.  The leadership had not been caught, and the traitors were paying the price.  Buildings fell.  Children screamed.  Nobody thought to fight back.

On the outskirts of the city, not far from the burning hell that the Nationalists had created, the leadership watched.  Feng thought about how they could use the bombing to rally people.  Viktor mourned.  Aram paced, his mind not on the city at all, but on their contact.  They had searched for a supplier who would arm their people; they couldn't fight the Army without it, though Viktor had hopes that the army would "take strike action" as he put it: that they would refuse to fire on the people.  None of the others thought so, and so this meeting was arranged.

Lin was nowhere to be seen.  She was engaged in Istanbul, trying serruptitiously to find a printer who would publish the manuscript.

OOC: anyone who wants to RP the "contact" may.  I imagine him/her to be foreign, and more interested in making money than in aiding a revolution.

"Disgusting," spat Feng as Crofts' sppech ran to its patriotic conclusion.  "Fucking Fascists, all of them."

"I hear Euryl's planning to propose alliance to the Inglo-Scotians," remarked Aram, still pacing.

"Where?"

"Oh, in the ether."

Viktor looked at his watch.  "Where is she?  She was supposed to be here half an hour ago.  Do you think he was caught?"

"Oh no.  It would take more than Euryl's clumsy buffoons to capture her," chuckled Feng.

Zyanya observed the hillock from a distance, her keen eye noticing a man she recognized. Aram, she smiled weakly. The Light surely graced this man, he was a very fortunate one.  She rose slowly, watching Aram notice her. He waved her over, and she obliged, striding quickly to the hide out.

She knew what he wanted, and she wanted to get right to the point. "I assume you called me here for help? How many more units do you need?" She looked past the ferns and noticed others, and looked them over. Smiling, she prayed the light would be with them all.

OOC: I will, I've just been reading the other RPs.

IC: "It's good to see you again, Zyanya.  As for armaments, we can use as many as are at your disposal.  There are a billion people on our little islands, and we're going to need them all," began Aram.

Feng interrupted.  "But not all at once.  At the moment, we can begin by arming the people of Corfu; they're being bombed and butchered, and need to defend themselves.  If we can do that, if we can mobilize them to support us in an insurrection, nothing will be able to prevent a revolutionary takeover even of that reactionary government."

A sigh floated on the breeze.  Viktor hadn't come out; he loathed arms dealers, even those that worked for his cause.  But the sigh wasn't the only thing on the breeze.  An old, battered car from the 1970s (read 1930s RL), had pulled up behind the hillock, and a man with a stunted back removed the panel that shielded a secret compartment from view.  Out climbed Lin, looking much worse for the wear.

"Well, I finally managed to find a publishing house that will risk the bombs.  It's probably futile but the-" she stopped as she noticed the Xyraelite.  "Hello, Zyana."  She turned on the two men.  "Is it wise to be out here where we can be seen?"

"...said the woman who came brazenly in a car," muttered Feng.

"She's right," interjected Aram.  "Comrade Zyanya, join us in our...shelter."  He said the word distastefully.  Aram was a High Gallipoli, son of a banker.  He sometimes reflected on the spleandor that could have been his, and had found solace in those times in thinking about the Light.  No riches could compare to the justice he had devoted his life to; at least, that's what he told himself.

They stepped behind the screen of trailing weeds and tangled bushes, to discuss the possibilities for beginning the People's War.

Rami and Osman were twin brothers.  They had earned their daily scrounging the grimy streets of Corfu for unwitting tourists, to pick their pockets.  The city might be dirty, but it was historic; it had been the scene of a battle long ago, in medieval times, when the Gallipoli had repelled the invading Valideens.  The old fortress still stood, though it was crumbling.  Over the years, various politicians had promised to fund a restoration of the old building, but it never seemed to get done.  In any case, it was enough to supply Rami and Osman with a steady stream of income.

But that was not the case today.  Today, the city was in flames; any tourists that may have been here had long since gone when Rami, Osman, and the whole city were labelled traitors.  They did a good business out of robbing the throngs who took refuge in the subways, but the streets were no longer safe.  They had become a place of terror.

They appeared dirty, blackened by smoke.  They reeked of burning flesh.  The drones of the planes grew louder by the hour as more and more bombs were dropped on Corfu.  It was rumored that the government would be sending in the army soon to occupy the city.

Zyanya walked with the Aram into the shelter. She rather enjoyed watching the people bicker amongst themselves, keeping to herself as they did so. But she grew impatient rapidly, and drew out a sheet of paper. "So, I can order for you Kalashnikov's and RPG's, and I can probably fetch you some better gear from my superiors. How many people are you looking to arm at... 'Corfu'?"

Zyanya knew of the beliefs of the current Gallipoli-Chinese government, and she knew of the intent of Aram and his fellows. She could not really care less about the politics of the game, she had been sent here as a trial to prove her worth. She had failed the Light, and she would not do it again. Her fingers slid over a single blue tattoo on the back of her neck, and she flicked her deep brown hair before looking back at the men. She waited for the answer to her question.

Everyone looked at Viktor.  Corfu was his home city; he had made it his personal task to transform it into the Party-supporting enclave that it was.  He didn't say anything.  He didn't want to help what he thought would be a murderous enterprise.  But it was his relatives they were bombing.  Did he want to leave them defenseless?  He put aside his ethical dilemmas for a moment.  If he wasn't careful he'd go back on his pills again after five years.

"It's not a large city," he answered tonelessly.  "Not on the level of Tekirdag or Istanbul anyway.  There's more than two million people certainly, though probably less that will be willing to fight initially."

"So we're looking at about twenty-thousand people?" prompted Lin.

"Something like that.  But it's more complex than just the number.  Once resistance starts in Corfu, it will grow, make no mistake about that.  But it's part of a large island, easily surrounded, easily invaded unless the defenders are equipped for a siege.  They'll do well with Kalishikovs and RPGs, especially in the environment Euryl's created, but the main problem will be supplies and food.

"Also, once those are brought in, and the people see that they are being helped, more will turn to the resistance.  It's just a question of Euryl's actions.  If he's blockaded the island, which I haven't heard, it'll be hard to get supplies in.  If he hasn't, we can smuggle them in."

Zyanya nodded, displeased with Viktor's distrust of her. If only he knew her, she didn't like not being liked. She was far from home, however, and she could not expect people so distant to understand her culture.

"I will arrange for twenty-five thousand AK-47 and a plethora of RPG. Once the revolution is over, I will not feel responsible to continue supplying the populace with ammunition, once they run out the might as well toss the weaponry, or give it to your government. I will also get you some Beryl assault rifles, a crate load. Use them as you wish." She could tell Viktor had a distaste for war by his reaction to this statement. "My main concern is the people, to be honest. If the government blockades 'Corfu' not only will I struggle to deliver weaponry, but food will become harder to get there. I will see what I can do about acquiring blockade runners and submarines in case they take such actions."

She continued to ponder, she knew her people had no food to spare. Perhaps she could broker a deal for the Gallipoli-Chinese while they focused their efforts on war.

"If only it had been anywhere but Corfu," muttered Feng.  He knew that on the mainland, for instance, food was no problem.  But Corfu had been industrialized long ago, and the food producing areas on its island had been cannibalized to build housing, or stripped of their resources to feed the factories.  In a clearer tone, he addressed Zyanya.  "We can arrange for food from eastern areas, if you can provide blockade runners."

"Where are you going to get it, Feng?" asked Lin, ever the skeptic.

"From our donors.  You know we have dues-paying members in China.  Well, from now on, they can pay their dues in rice instead on yuans."

"If you say so."  Lin distrusted the scheme, but it was outlandish, and while Feng was wrong about the mundane, his brain flitted between pipe dreams and somehow made them a reality.

Aram turned toward Zyanya.  He was embarrased by his colleagues' behavior.  Viktor should know not to act like that, no matter what he thought of war, and Feng and Lin were bickering like a couple of children.  He tried to make her understand his apology for their conduct without using words.

She knew the foods would be difficult to procure at best once the government began to crack down on the group, she had run into this problem before. Besides, she was stubborn, she'd have her way even if the Gallipoli-Chinese weren't expecting it.

Zyanya smiled at Aram, knowing the people in the hill had nothing but good intentions. "I'll leave you boys to your own devices," she grinned giddily. Pulling out a small transmitter with a simple light and a peice of paper with coordinates, she handed them to Aram. "I will go see what I can do about your necessities. We'll discuss payment later, when I know you boys can repay the favor."

Zyanya slowly made her way out of the small hideaway. She had to admit she had doubts about war they planned, but she always enjoyed being wrong.

Watching as Zyanya disappeared from view, Aram didn't see Viktor wheel on him from behind.

"Payment?  You never mentioned payment."

"What did you think, that she'd be working for free?  She's not a government rep, you know."

"But-"

"You know nothing about it.  She's here for her own reasons, and it happens that her interests and ours coincide."  Viktor lapsed into silence.  "In any case, she's reliable, and there will be rebellion in Corfu."

<some time later>
The city streets were eerily silent, save for the crackling of a few persistant flames.  The bombing had stopped, but that was only to allow the soldiers to move in.  Strangely, the port had not been blocked; the government seemed to think that the city would offer little resistance after a week of bombing.  They were wrong.

Osman signalled to his brother across the street.  Both were perched on top of buildings, waiting for the army that must eventually come.  Each clutched an RPG to his chest as on the horizon, the army appeared.  Rami gulped in fear and watched his brother.  It had always been like that; Osman was the daredevil, Rami the one who only did something after his brother proved that he could.  It was like that now.  As the tanks creeped closer, Osman sighted down the barrel.  He knew they were not close enough, and he couldn't afford to give away the position; other fighters were concealed below.
Title: Re: The People's War
Post by: Zimmerwald on January 08, 2007, 03:03:53 PM
And then, just like that, they were close enough.  Where had the morning gone, thought Osman, checking the safety for the fifth time in as many minutes.  Seeing it was off, he once again brandished it, and fired.

The nearest tank, the one leading the column, vanished in a storm of flying metal and red smoke.  Osman expected return fire, and got it, ducking down behind a low stone wall, built to keep the building's occupants from falling to the street below.  As the building shook from the tanks' pounding, and bullets whizzed overhead, he heard first Rami, than the other fighters open up on the regulars.

But they were too few.  Their positions were tenuous, and they knew they'd have to withdraw at some point.  After popping off the rest of his grenades, and wreaking more havoc on the tanks, Osman ran across the roof and down the stairs, grabbing a Kalishnikov from one of his comrades, and throwing the RPG into the back of an old pickup, which had stirred to life, ready to carry the fighters away the moment they needed it.

Zyanya had taken a quick ferry to Islas Filipinas (OOC: Supremo is Islas Filipinas, Supremo is the title of the leader as far as I can tell) and brokered a small deal there. A little bit of money here and there and the beautiful Xyraelite stood at a dock before a rather large freighter, a smile crossing her face. 10,000 crates decked the vessel, and she was sure Viktor would appreciate the better portion of them. As the vessel continued loading, she received a message on her beeper. It was a simple message, Support inbound, but Zyanya knew what it meant. The submarines would be at Gallipoli China in around 3 weeks, but Zyanya couldn't wait that long. She contemplated for a moment before deciding on the underhanded.

Islas Filipinas had decided to support the fascist Gallipoli-Chinese with soldiers and most likely supplies. She searched through the flags stored on the vessel until she found the Filipino flag. Zyanya was quite pleased with herself, and told the men to hoist the flag. She made one more quick phone call to the dock in Corfu and tickled the mans greed with a tempting offer of several hundred thousand yuan, and quickly enough she had a warehouse as well. Signalling the captain of the chartered freighter she ordered the course be set for Corfu, Gallipoli-China.

(OOC: Assuming ~22,000 km journey north past Acle then east to G-C, submarines at 20 knots, equiv to 37.1 kmph, 593 hours, roughly 24.7 days)

Selim didn't care what anyone said.  Eastern Corfu might be in ruins, but they'd left the docks alone, and he was making a handsome profit.  Especially since that Filipina had decided to stort thousands of tons of goods in his warehouse.  The vessel containing them would be at his doorstep in only days, and he could almost smell the money.  What was even better was that there was no buyer as far as he could tell, so he'd be collecting dues indefinately.

What was disturbing was that the Filipina had told him she would be keeping an eye on him personally.  He didn't like people telling him how to run his business, but money was money.

The vessel had no trouble with the Gallipoli-Chinese navy and arrived in the doc uneventfully. Zyanya was quite thankful for this, the Light had graced her path today. She waited for the vessel to dok, which finally occured almost an hour after arrivel due to haphazard traffic in the port. It was obvious the governments intervention on the island was causing chaos. Once the vessel docked Zyanya made sure no one asked any questions about the containers. She had deep pockets, and she was quick to silence and curiosity.

She ordered a shipment of 40 TEU's to be sent by train across the countryside. She snuck onto the train, and while the conductor believed himself alone she approached the man from behind with two loaded pistols pressed against the back of his head. "Hello, sir. I'll have to ask you to step aside."

He complied grudgingly, and Zyanya thought to kill the man, but decided such action would be pointless. She grabbed the brake lever and pulled down hard. The train slowly grinded to a half and she kicked the conductor out the door before sending Aram a signal with the location of the train.

This is absolutely perfect, thought Aram.  When he had told the others of the TEUs that had been sent across rural China (I'm putting this on the mainland, northwest of Validus, while Corfu is on a small island in the far west), they had immediately gathered a few people to help to pick them up.  Most Chinese peasants had long been cowed by the government, but there were a few who had perked up at the leadership's promise of freedom.

They approached the train from the north, all the time watching for Government patrols.  It wasn't likely, but it was possible that the stoppage had been detected.  However, they managed to reach the train safely enough.  Viktor had stepped into a small tussock, and twisted his ankle, but it was nothing serious.

Quickly, they boarded the train.  Aram and Viktor found Zyanya in the engine, waiting.  Two bodies lay unconscious in the cab, but she appeared unconcerned.  The rest fanned out to the rear cars, looking for any other passengers or train workers.  They didn't want anybody knowing where this train was going.

In Corfu, the battle continued.  The outer positions had been given up long ago, and the fighters were retreating towards the center city, and the old fortress.  From far off, they noticed a Filipino ship in the harbor.  Damn, thought Rami we're going to have to fight them too?  Osman, however, took it in stride, pulling a piece of shrapnel out of his leg and looking grimly at the ship.  He said nothing.

Zyanya smiled at Aram. "You'll find 30 of these crates to hold more weapons you need. Radom AKM's, some RPG-2's and a few light mortars, and even a handful SA-7 Grail's in case you have problems with helicopters."

She turned to Viktor and smiled. "There's also ten containers filled with rice and wheat, a gift. I have a vessel docked in the harbor at Corfu under the Filipino flag, and a warehouse where all the supplies are being stored." She handed the keys to Aram. "There's two thousand more containers of weapons and ammunition there, and eight thousand TEU's of food to feed those whose home have been destroyed by your enemies."

She placed her hands behind her resting against the small of her back, showing off her physique to the men to entertain herself. "Is there anything else you boys need?"

"This is ample, Zyanya.  We might be needing ammunition far in the future, but that won't be for a while.  You've done splendidly.  Now...all we need to do is start the train, and distribute these across the countryside.  Hopefully that will relieve the pressure on Corfu if the whole country is up in arms."  He looked around, slightly bewildered.  "I assume you know how to start this thing?"

"What worries me," mused Viktor, not really paying attention, "is not the government.  They will fall if enough people resist; it's happened before.  But other countries will intervene, and I see no way to prevent that.  They might delay us indefinately, perhaps forever."

Zyanya pulled several levers and started the train, and threw a smile back at the Viktor. She always seemed cheerful for some reason.

"Victory doesn't come on the field, it comes from winning the hearts and minds of the people. Even if 'Corfu' fails, if the rest of Gallipoli-China learned that there was indeed resistance they too would join you. And a nation-wide revolution is a force no one can suppress."

Slowly, Mayia Sirien walked through the large transporter zeppelin to the commando bridge.
"When we´ll arrive at Gallipolli-China?" she asked May Clarewater, the blonde-haired, beautiful young woman in a colonels uniform standing near the communication computer. "Sire, we´ll arrive in about.." she looks quickly at her watch "...5 hours 29 minutes. Do you wish anything else to know?"
"Yes. Try to get a connection with Gallipolli´s communication services."
"Yes sire." she saluted "I´ll try what I can do."
Then, she quickly went to the big workstation-computer, hastily typing into the keyboard.

OOC: G-C, do you have communication services? If yes, please tell me. My people dunno where to land with their 6 large zeppelins. If you wan´t to RP this out, May will ask you mainly were to land, and which places should be avoided. She will be very politely.
OOC 2: My people have their own food rations which will last for about 2 months.
OOC-EDIT: Naw, May´s blonde...she is related to a RPG-character I created before for my computer game.

OOC: yeah, most of the infrastructure's sound, and the rebellion hasn't spread beyond Corfu yet.  It will shortly spread to the mainland, north of Validus, but as you said "Gallipoli," which is the western islands, I'm assuming you're avoiding the mainland.  As long as you stay away from Corfu, you're pretty much fine.

IC: The zeppelin port at Tekirdag, on the largest island in Gallipoli province, hadn't been used in years, and was slowly falling into disrepair, but it was reasonably certain that it would last long enough to be used for a few more years at least.  The zeppelins who had contacted the tower an hour ago would have no trouble, and they would meet ships waiting to take them to trouble spots too dangerous to be approached from the air.

"Very true, Zyanya.  I'm afraid we've neglected to take the long view lately," said Aram.  "Even Viktor."  The two men exchanged glances.  They both knew that Viktor was the most holistic of the leadership.  If he was losing the long view, then things were almost certainly moving too fast.  "Incidentally, Zyanya, are there any vehicles in those crates?  The train doesn't stop everywhere, and once we reach the first villiage and manage to convince the people, we'll need to distribute these far beyond the route of the rail line."  Viktor remained silent.  He had taken Aram's glance, and the message it contained, to heart, and was thinking about how they could best appeal to the inhabitants of Macao.

Zyanya frowned. "Just two duece and a halfs. Enough space to haul a load of guns and supply a town at a time, but not enough to abandon the train in one spot." She looked down at her pager and frowned. "Also, some of my fellows have spotted reinforcements. Usually it would not be my place to help you, long wars are most profitable, but I have respect for you. I expect you will have much trouble if a full scale foreign intervention takes place."

(OOC: By profit, her orders are all money she makes are given to the Fallen. She's taken a vow of poverty, and owns nothing, but instead the Fallen own the money, and give as they will.)

Her beeper clicks and she looks down and reads a small message, which informs her of the Gallipoli-Chinese response to her Elders. She looks up at Aram with a smile but says nothing, seemingly dismissing it.

I'm not even going to ask what that's about, thought Aram.  Viktor finally piped up.

"We will probably be stopping in Macao a long while.  You were right; we don't just need to arm people.  We need to have them commit.  And that's not going to be easy..."  He trailed off, going back to his thoughts.

OOC: I envision a political game going on in Macao, that Viktor is aware of.  They will have to stop for a while there, and wrangle with the municipal government about this and that, all the while "evangalizing" the population.  That's why I asked about vehicles.

After about 3 minutes of waiting, a message box appeared on the screen.
"Connection established." May said. "Do you wish to talk?"
General Siria shooked her head. "You was ordered to do the communications."
May saluted again. "As you wish."
Then, she drawed her UNI visor* and connectioned it with the workstation via a long cable.
She was the only soldier (except for General Siria) who speak chinese.

A little bit of talking later....

"Report." the general ordered after May put of her visor.
"Sire, they gave us the coordinates of their zeppelin ports.
Shall I gave orders to the pilots of all the zepellins?"
"Yes. And, transmit some messages all soldiers should be ready.
I´ll take care for the soldiers on this zeppelin."
She saluted again, before she put on her visor again.

....About 7 hours later....

The sun is going up. Not far away, the soldiers in the cockpit and in the lookouts could see the Tekirdag zeppelin port. The 5 very huge zeppelins are preparing to land. Three of them did land outside the port because of the lacking of free space, but two of them were damaged a bit on the long journey and needed reparation.

General Siria stepped off the plattform lift of the airship. Then, she looked around.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
OOC: Siria is waiting for someone to greet her. She´s human. She will be politely when she speaks to someone. She´s a bit arrogant. Just RP her greeting and asking for orders. Left and right of Siria, there are 3 squads a 10 soldiers of the standard artillery guarding her. My people are all well trained, but they lack of practical war experience. They are neither pro- or contra-rebels, but they will follow the orders Siria give them. Siria will follow G-Cs government until she got other orders from Feniexia or G-C is ordering them to slay unarmed civils or similar.

Zyanya nodded, "I'm not the only one here, I can have you more vehicles in a weeks time. How many do you need?" She glanced to her beeper, she was waiting for a message.

If this 'Euryl' continues, the Fallen Council will not take kindly to this offense... she was nervous. The government of Xyrael may not have a national army, but the Fallen Council of the Pazca was tantamount to a such an entity. She was quite entertained, the Gallipoli-Chinese Prime Minister had unwittingly gravely insulted the Council of Xyrael's most militant tribe.

Zyanya looked down to her beeper as it buzzed, and a message informed her of recent events. It had been an entire day since she had received her initial message, but this one was different. She turned to Aram with a smile and politely interjected in a conversation between Aram and Viktor.

"Your Prime Minister Euryl has gravely offended the honor of my elders. They have responded with a declaration of war. I've been ordered to make sure you boys stay alive." Zyanya smiled, she wanted to tell them more. But she glanced at Viktor and Aram, she knew they had to do what they had to do, and her people would do what they had to do. She was glad that their purposes had aligned, she rather enjoyed their company.

OOC: sorry, I haven't been here.

IC: "Ah, so you're the Fenexian commander?" inquired an official-looking person who had come out of the control tower.

At Corfu, the fighting still raged.  The militia had given up trying to maintain any coordination, instead allowing its units to hit the enemy wherever he was vulnerable.  Soldiers died in hand-to-hand combat with the militia; militia were picked off of rooftops by Army snipers.  Neither seemed to be gaining an upper hand.

Osman was now struggling to keep up with his brother.  The wound in his leg had gotten worse; it was bleeding freely despite the bandaging.  Osman knew he could take no more, and, determined to end in a way that would help free his people from this assault, grabbed a grenade and threw himself under a tank.  Rami looked back in horror as what had been his brother and a tank transformed, with a flash and a bang, into a burning skeleton of steel and the odor of death.  Wiping tears from his eyes, he ran as fast as he could to the old fortress on the west coast.  Maybe he could get help, or at least safety, there.

"We thank you for your protection.  It means much to us," said Aram ceremoniously, with a slight bow, as the train ground to a halt.  "We also ask you to relay our thanks to your Council; this will make our task that much easier.  For all we knew, we were going into this fight with no support.  We thank you for your commitment."

"But while you're doing that," interjected Viktor, "not all is rockets and bombs.  With war, your soldiers must spread propaganda to convince the people to join you.  We, meanwhile, will be doing the same in these towns and cities, which, fortunately, have not yet been touched by war.

"Not that I have any doubt that Gallipoli-China is ripe for revolution; people are outraged by Corfu.  But they're also scared.  An armed intervention that doesn't support the government may convince them once and for all that our task is just.

"And now," he said to Lin, who had appeared, carrying a well-thumbed copy of Luxembourg's book, "If you'll come with me, we must see about convincing Macao."

OOC: Zyanya will be following you in case the gov't officials or spies try to meddle.

IC:
The Council met briefly and quickly decided upon a course of action. There was little debate over what action should be taken, not only did the government kill its own people, but it had insulted their very lifestyle. The Pazca prepared a multitude of naval vessels at the docks, and many warriors stood proud as they received their orders.

Though course of action was quickly decided upon, the methods of undertaking the intervention were debated. It was ultimately decided that forty thousand soldiers would be initially sent to relieve the insurgents at Corfu, and reinforcements would continue arriving.

50 F125 frigates and 20 Sachsen-class Frigates will be deployed with the initial landing fleet. A steady resupply line consiting of 20 Berlin-class Military resupply ships will receive a proper escort of 1 Sachsen Frigate and 1 F125 per convoy of 4. Preparations are underway, and the force will be in Gallipoli-China in 3 weeks time. Discussions of armament were discussed heavily, and it was decided the standard the Radom AKM would not be used. Instead, the new Kbk wz. 96 Beryl Assault rifle would receive its first combat vest at Corfu. Victory at Corfu was necessary to ensure the success of the Xyraelite campaign.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Meanwhile, in the waters between the islands, a small periscope observed a Gallipoli-Chinese troopship. Observing the vessel, Commodore Chimalli was deciding upon the best moment to strike. There were four other vessels nearby, two of which were also troopships, the other two he could not identify. If these soldiers make it to Corfu, the citizens there will surely be crushed. He pondered for several moments, beads of sweat running down his forehead. He had called battlestations mere minutes before, and a red glow illuminated the room.

"Commodore, target is acquired."

Now is the moment. Strike hard, strike now. He released the periscope, raising his chin with pride. "Fire tubes one and two. Then fire another salvo from three and four."

He could hear an extremely familiar creak as the torpedo bays released their wrath. He could feel them driving closer to the enemy vessel, and he felt the second salvo exit his vessel. Not a man to await a response, he quickly barked an order. Slamming his fist to a map, he identified another troopship. "Do not relent. Kill them all." He could feel the vessel turn hard to port.

"Yes". General Siria said and tried to sound as politely as possible. "Thou are greeted."
The soldiers around her salutated.

"When do we get instructions and infos for our target? We are ready to take orders."
Behind her prepared about 50 Dassault Mirage 2000s (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dassault-Breguet_Mirage_2000) to land. All commanders and officers gathered in a circle around Siria.

"We have recieved reports of a Xyraeli fleet in our western waters.  They have destroyed some of the Western Fleet, and are currently engaged in battle against what's left of it.  I need you to reinforce this fleet."

Neither Aram, nor Lin, nor Viktor had been in Macao before, so Feng led them to the hall of Local 302 of the Federation of Eastern Miners.

"Are you sure this is a smart idea, Feng?" asked Aram as the troupe crept serruptitiously down a back alley.  "What if it's being watched?"

"That's why we're not going to the local Party Headquarters," grunted Feng, as he tried to remember whether to turn right or left.

"He's right, Aram," said Lin, examining the piles of refuse that littered the alley with disgust.  "We need supporters.  We can't be expected to convince them all on our own, and the Miners have always been good supporters.

"Whatever," muttered Aram as Feng finally made up his mind.  The union hall to their left was small; it occupied the first floor of the six-story building that housed it.  "Do they know we're coming?"

"I know the Miners' schedule," said Viktor.  "They have a meeting at about this time every month.  Just speak with the local leader and see if she can fit us on the bill."

IC:"So do you think you can do it, Comrade Salah?"

Salah Qen stared hard at Feng.  She knew him from long ago; he'd been one of their best organizers, helping the Union get off the ground.  But something about him had changed.  She could see that he looked harder, more cynical, more wary and suspicious than either of his four companions.  And she didn't trust them either.  She was aware of the political situation, and hosting these rabble-rousers could prove troublesome for the union.

"I don't-"

"Don't you owe me a favor, Salah?" said Feng slyly.  Salah was grateful he didn't bring up the exact circumstances.  They weren't pleasant.

"That's low, Feng.  Really low."

"Will you get my friend Viktor here on the bill?"

Salah gritted her teeth.  She was sure this would get her shot, but she had no other choice.

"Fine," she said, turning away from the group to her computer.  She typed a few words, and printed out a page that contained the speakers program.  "Copy these, will you?" she said tersely to an assistant that had appeared in the doorway.

Viktor, who was frightened of loud noises, the smell of gunpowder, and certain types of spiders felt no fear as he climbed up to the podium in the Local 302 union hall.  Below him was a mass of people; the crowd spilled out the doors.  Some had faces covered in black soot.  These were the coal miners.  A few of them had developed Black Lung disease, and had difficulty breathing.  Viktor could hear them caughing as he shuffled his notes.

Others worked in the far smaller copper mine that serviced Macao; they seemed healthier, and didn't bend at the waist every forty seconds.  Viktor glanced at the windows, half expecting Special Ops units from the government to burst through at any second.  Evidentally, Salah thought so too.  She was sitting in the front row between Aram and Lin, and couldn't keep her eyes off the exit to the left of the stage.

Some of the coal miners bore faces that spoke of tiredness, of frustration.  They had fought in the strike five months ago, where the union had met with defeat at the hands of the military, which at that time was controlled by the Liberal ministry.  These people were perfect, Lin and Feng had judged, to mobilize for the Revolution.  But it was up to Viktor to do it.  The crowd finally quieted down, until Viktor knew this was a close to silence as he would ever hope to get.

"Greetings," he began, his voice almost a whisper.  The union members strained to hear him speak.  He had gotten their attention.  His voice slowly began to rise.  "Some of you bore witness to the visciousness of the Strike of 2006, the fabled Uprising of twenty-thousand, the supposed beginning of the revolution."  He was on shaky ground here.  The Call, the newspaper put out by the Party, had indeed given those labels, but few others had paid much attention to the strike until it had spelled doom for the Liberal ministry.  "Some of you saw the brutal use of our fellow working men and women to crush our hopes and aspirations, as the iron fist of 'freedom' was brought down upon you, to make you bend to its will.  All of you bear witness to the consequences.  All of you saw as a new government took power, by fraudulent electioneering and through backroom deals.  All of you see that our new masters are quite as bad as the old.  All of you see that they, too, are willing to use troops to quell an uprising, and uprising of silence.

"They have almost succeeded.

"Uprisings of silence are doomed to failure, because the revolutionaries do not speak even to defend themselves.  A few brave souls are fighting a losing battle for Corfu, but there is no hope for that city.  The forces of destruction, of tyrrany, of bourgeois freedom, have razed the land as they once razed Macao.  I see men and women here who have gone through the same thing, and I ask you, is there solidarity?

"Is there solidarity enough left in the Gallipoli-Chinese people, that when workers see their own being shot in the streets, they will do something about it?  Is there solidarity enough to resist this fate?  I believe there is.

"You show me that their is with faces that still express hope.  You tell me with glances that want to resist, and you make me believe that there is hope for the workers of the world.  You make me believe this.

"I did not come here to evangelize you with the gospel of socialism.  The gospel of socialism is present within you already; I do no more than articulate what you feel.  And what you have shown me that you feel, by your courageous resistance to Government troops, by your refusal to submit to the demands of capital, by your adamant refusal to go softly into that good night, is that you are ready for a fight.

"I move that this Local, this National, this Union declare a general strike of the mine workers of Gallipoli-China."  At this, there was cheering, clapping of hands.  Somebody began singing Solidarity Forever.  From the gallery, Viktor heard numerous seconds, and the strike was approved almost unanimously.  Certian members rushed out of the hall to telephone the other Locals, to get them to introduce the motion.

"I also urge you to learn how to fight.  A strike is an expression of power, and always invites violent reprisals.  Both our current and former governments used violence against dissenters.  We must be prepared to strike back.  Any who wish to take part in defending this city, or who wish to teach other cities where you Miners have organized to resist their masters, may see my Comrade Feng Hu at the front.  I wish you all the very best of luck."  The applause was euphoric.  Viktor stepped down from the stage, and stood with the little knot of leaders.  He left the many volunteers to Feng and Aram; he had no stomach for such things.

General Siria nodded. "I´ll go with the infantry."

Then, she took her pager out of her pocket and called someone.

About three minutes later, a middle-aged man in a special uniform appeared.
He had a big brown fullbeard, but his hairs are hanging back in a ponytail.

"Air Marshall Petran Avis, at your order."

"He commands the air force. If you have orders for the air force, talk to him. If you have orders for the ground forces, talk to me." Siria explained slowly. "The air forces will move to the capital with the zeppelins, so we´ll need one squad of the Mirages. I hope this ok for you?"

"Oh, anything, anything," said the officer, leaving the Fenexians to their own devices.

OOC: I'm trying to project incompetance.

The leadership had left Feng in command of Macao, along with Salah, and had left the train behind in favor of the roads.  More and more hamlets, small towns, and even cities had accepted what they had had to say, though they had avoided attracting the attentions of the government.  But that time was now past.

Xanadu was the most prosperous port city in northern China.  Nestled behind a large bay that offered safe harbor for ships, it was also the base for the North China Garrison of the Union Army of Gallipoli-China.  Xanadu was therefore the next target on the list of the leadership.  They had been hiding in the slums for weeks, spreading propaganda but remaining undercover.  Soon, the troops and ships of the oppressors would feel the wrath of the people.

The Barracks at Xanadu
"Okay, troops, here's the deal.  The Valideens aren't going to take the bombing of Liberty lightly, so our job is to make sure they don't expand Rickover.  We are also ordered to repress the Communist governments in the city of Macao, and to prevent them from extending their control further northward.

Undisclosed location
"We know they're going to move out of those barracks at some point.  What we want to do is have a reception ready to cut them off from any resupply as soon as possible, preferably out of the country.  Once they've left Xanadu, we need to immediately sieze control of the city, and rouse our people in the countryside.  Once that's done, all of Mainland China will be ours."

OOC: where be Xyrael?

IC: "Look at this Comrades!" stage-whispered Aram.  Salah, Viktor, and Lin put down what they were doing (Viktor was flipping through Lin's book, Lin was designing a flag, and Salah was dividing her time between keeping in touch with union leaders and with Feng, and drafting the Constitution), and walked over to Aram.  Salah was scowling; she didn't like the cellar they were hiding in.  It was stuffy, and more than once she thought she'd heard a rat.  She wished the garrison would march already.

Viktor and Lin were more stoic about it, but all of them agreed that the sooner this was over, the better off they'd be.

"Look," repeated Aram, shoving a newspaper in their faces.  "The Fugazis of Uichi Ryu have also organized, and won, their revolution.  I tell you this is a worldwide phenominon, Comrades."

"What is the point of showing us this, Aram?  I've just gotten off the phone with Feng; he's made contact with Valideen troops, and they're sympathetic.  He was just telling me about how they were meeting the Fenexians who have been suppressing revolt in Peking!"

"We should keep up on world affairs, Salah," rejoined Viktor, before Aram opened his mouth.  "This revolution of ours is not a national phenominon; it is fundamentally international, and that is the outlook we should have."

Xyanya had not returned from one of her outings; because the government did not know her, and because there was no price on her head, she was the only one of the five allowed outside the cellar.  Therefore, she was their main link to the outside world.  Unfortunately, she was also the one thing that kept them all sane.

"What the fuck is going on?"

"Well, sir, it appears the Fenexians have found out about Corfu!"

"What-"

"Peking is rioting, and the rebels in Corfu are recieving Valideen supplies now.  Peking is rioting, and the Moorish lands are soon to follow the Chinese.  Already the Fenexians have been welcomed with praise in Istanbul"

Euryl could do nothing but splutter.  The situation was out of his hands, as his Interior Minister had planned it.

"But all is not lost.  Achaea has remained loyal, and there we shall go."

"What about the Fenexians?"

"Ah, you'll have to stay here and confront them, won't you?"

The Interior Minister disappeared, no doubt to his private jet with the other ministers, leaving Euryl helpless before the Fenexian general that had arrived outside the Capitol.

Waheed drove his beat up daewoo prince through the streets of Corfu. He had been in the city three weeks now, holed up in a small flat. He had been fasting for a week now, his frail body showing it. He prayed to the Quran 5 times a day. He spent hours working on the car making sure it would do its job. He had only one chance. His days were spent in silence. A moment of reflection before he heads home. his flat was empty. Anything he had up until this moment was gone. A pile of ash in a 5 gallon drum. All forms of ID, pictures, plans all burned. All that remained was him, his Quran, his prayer beads, his car and the gift it had inside. He had for weeks planned and watched. He could tell who the rebels were and where they lived. He was unconspicuous. They paid no attention as he drove to market everyday. Always paid in cash. He pulled up to a house. He knew there would be at least a dozen rebels held up in the house. He muttered the words, "Allah Ackbar". He pulled up on the emergency brake. Nothing was left of the house. Eight were wounded, dozens injured. The car was a twisted pile of metal. Forensics would show he had packed 6 155mm mortars and 100lbs of composite C4 into the trunk and backseat of his car.

The sound of a helicopter could be heard over head. It was a VH-148 Cyclone, along the side was written in big bold letters, VALIDEEN NAVY, it was grey in colour and was approaching the Ground. It placed its self between the Fenexians and the Capitol. The aft ramp was lowered and out walked a man in a highranking Military uniform. escorting him were, 10 special operations command soldiers.

a speaker was fitted on each side of the Cyclone, in his hand was the transmitter. "Attention Fenexians!" spoke the man through the speakers. . .

"Of course, sire. With all due respect, however, Her Highness tends to have a more favorable view towards communists." piped in Garth Grovtrith, Imperial Scribe. Peté and his "associates and friends", as he always called them, had talks like this when the Queen was praying in the morning.

"And it's not exactly easy to just send over troops to Gallipoli and China (as most Myrorians called the nation, having been raised to incorrect, but fancy sounding names for nations) without the Queen finding out." theorized Klaus Worwoth, Chancellor of the Prefecture.

"Are you implying that we may just have to let the communists 'get their way', Klaus?"

"I'm afraid so, sire."

"..."

"I suppose we could be optimists for a second and assume the inevitable. Inevitable being that the future Gallipoli and Chinese government successfully does squat and later dies or falls into oblivion." Klaus said.

"We could do that, sire."

"I always thought pessimism was the Myrorian way?"

"It is. But even a scribe must be an optimist sometimes."

General Siria looked to the helicopters. An ADATS (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Air_Defense_Anti-Tank_System) tank pointed with it´s turrent in the direction of the helicopter, because now, everyone could be qan enemy. In the not-so-far distant, about 90 aircrafts of the IAF are flying straight to the G-C capital. "What do you want, Valideen?" she shouted through her megaphone.

Two Fenexian soldiers who had finally found their way to the Prime Minister's office were stunned by the body crumpled in death on the floor.  Euryl, not wanting to give himself up, had shot himself.

Resistance in Istanbul itself was crumbling, caused in part by the Communist-led riots in its sister city and neighbor, Peking.

The incompetant Euryl may be dead now, but the new government in Achaea will not repeat his mistakes.  We will destroy these rebels with a heavy hand, and we will not be taken in again by foreign interlopers who seek to destroy our state.

No attack on any city in China or East Gallipoli, the areas of traitor Chinese and Moors, will be considered an act of war by this government; nations are encouraged to do their utmost to wipe out this infestation before it spreads to pure Achaea.

Half an hour later.
General Siria was standing on top of a tank, and beside the tank all regiment leaders and the two scouts who discovered Euryls corpse.

"What is is Major?" Asked the General.

"The Feniexian's have entered the G-C Capitol." stated the Major.

"Divert the Marines from Operation P Falcon. Get the 1st Marine Airborne division loaded on aircraft ASAP, we are going to the Capitol. What of General Ireland?"

"Still no word sir."

"Ok, you have your orders Major, carry them out." soon after the Major left the General picked up a handset on his desk, "Get me Admiral Casey."..."Admiral, this is General Winkler. Is the Naval quorinteen complete around the G-C?". . ."Good. I want you to order teh ships that any Aircraft that comes close to entiering the G-C Airspace will have to divert. If they do not respond or divert shoot them down.".  .  ."Yes, im going to tell General Jackson to do the same thing with teh air force,"..."Feniexian's arnt leaving the G-C". . ."Have a good day Admiral."

A few moments later the General picked up the handset again, "Get me General Jackson,"..."Hello General, hows the wife and kids?". . ."Really, t-ball, eh?"..."Yes, we are doing a complete quorinteen of the G-C that means air as well, your jets will be tasked with keeping the skys clear over the G-C, the navy will be doing the same with the Carriers and Area Air Defence Ships."..."I want at least 50 jets around the boarders."..."Yes you will have to use former airbases of the G-C military that they abbandoned in mainland China.". . ."ADATs units are in the prosses of being set up around occupied G-C. "General! There are objects near the Valideen border. They´re heading in our direction."
a Feniexian officer shouted before all the people.

General Siria remained calm.
"Get the citizen evac and prepare the city for a siege. They surely have weapons and FLAK here." she ordered a high ranked commander bext to her. "Clearwater, call the High Council for reinforcements. We need especially heavy troops and aircraft."

May saluted and rushed in a near Feniexian Army tent.

"Prepare the ADATS and the Abraham tanks." she said to commander Morgk, an Garris near of her.

"Prepare your squad, like all other sniper regiments will do. You get into this house there." Siria ordered May as she returned from the tent, while pointing with her left hand at an big house near the city place.

"Tank troops guard the city place. Engineers, mine the city entrances after the civilizens are out of here. Then build FLAKs and get into the army bases of the city. Brief the G-C turncoats."

"What shall we do with the aircrafts?" a warrant officer who run down the street to the General asked.

"Let them land near the zeppelins. Refill them. Then get the zeppelins here, with them we could do evac much faster."

"Where should the command staff go?"

"We´ll use the bunkers there."

Then, she said to herself: "If they really want war they should find us prepared."

Xyanya ran into the room, almost slamming the door behind her.  Remembering the need for silence, she caught it just before it hit the frame, crushing her hand in the process.  She blew on it to ease the pain as she approached Lin and Viktor.

"They're gone," she said simply, still out of breath.  Lin gave her time to catch it before asking her to clarify this somewhat cryptic statement.  "The soldiers.  Xanadu's been emptied.  All the loyal troops have been withdrawn to Achaea.  It's the same in East Gallipoli.  The army barracks were in a state of uproar, and the loyalists were shipped out during the night, before they would have been shot."

"Is this why you've been gone so long?  Gathering all this news?"

"Yes.  I tell you, the whole country is withdrawing its support from the government.  We need to present an alternative."

"She's right," said Aram, coming in from a side room.  "We have to act fast.  Already the Liberals and the Democrats are forming a coalition government in Tekirdag.  We have to organize, and fast.  Lin, have you prepared for this?"

"No, but Feng has.  And Salah.  Their Workers' Councils control all the cities of China we've managed to liberate from the government.  Our organizations are weak in Gallipoli as a whole, but we'd have to get into contact with them to know the full situation."

"I'll do it.  I trust Xanadu will support us?"

"Yes."

"Then we'll begin here."

<later>
"Feng's given us the go-ahead.  He says that we're strong enough in China to proclaim a new government, as long as we control the whole.  He says we must get into contact with the Valideens, persuade them to withdraw their troops from China and to recognize our government here as soon as possible."

"Fine."

This is to notify you of the formation of a new Government of Gallipoli-China.  The old government, now based in Achaea, no longer has any legitimacy, and the Socialist Party of Gallipoli-China is organizing a seperate government from the Liberal-Democratic coalition based in Tekirdag.  You have been friendly to our cause in the past, and we ask one more favor.  If our government is to be viable, Valideen troops must leave China.

A redeployment to Achaea to break the still-present power of the old government is desirable, as is recognition of our National Workers' Council as a legitimate government, as opposed to the Coalition in Tekirdag.  If you wish to withdraw your troops from the situation entirely, that is acceptable as well.  However, recognition is imperative.  Once the National Workers' Council gains full control over the national territory, we will send representatives to conclude a binding Treaty of Amity between our two nations.

Once again, I thank you for the help and aid you have given the Revolution, for without this aid, it could not have succeeded.

In solidarity,
Aram Caros

Spotlights guided by some scouts are searching for soldiers out of the G-C capitol. On the radars, moving vehicles could be found very near of the city. The Valideens have no chance of entering the city unseen. Besides, all entrances to the city center and the surrounding districts, where the main army is, are mined extremely with covered, hard-to-detect Type 72 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Type_72) and MON-200 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MON-200) mines, especially at nighttimes. Wrecked vehicles might block the way of other incoming ones. Sniper units were placed in the windows of the (mostly) emptied houses, as many "normal" foot soldiers are. Some other foot soldiers are guarding barricades made from sand bags, traffic lamps, barbed wire, and a few left-there cars. The streets are clear of cars who were taken by the evacuating citizens, which gave the place a gosthly look.

"Incoming objects registrated."
the Communications Officer handling the radar in the bunkers shouted.

"Send signal C-12. The soldiers have to know that they might enter the city at every moment."

May Clearwater looked trough the room of the house near the main place. The room was clean and almost empty, there were a table, some seats and one cupboard. 5 sniper soldiers of her squad were standing around her. Suddenly, her ComLink transmitted something.

"C-12. Get to the windows." she said nervously. "Be quiet from now on. Turn on your infrared vision mode."

All 6 Feniexians grabbed their Arctic Warfare and unsecured it, one quickly switched off the lights.

May suddenly felt strange. "Am I...frightened?" she asked herself in tought.

OOC:
