Title: The Great Border War
Post by: Dysanii on October 22, 2007, 04:43:39 PM
The hour is late as the soldiers of the Dysanii armed forces make their first tender prods into Canadian territory. Mechanized units of the Federal Army filter over the border and make use of air support to move forward and survey the best advance routes towards the Canadian objectives as the bulk of the forces begin pouring over the border.

The attack has been simplified to ensure the effective direction of such vast forces. Therefore, only major objectives are planned, leaving commanders of forces approaching less prominent settlements and areas to create their own ways of dealing with these 'inconveniences'. Five major objectives exist, and it is assumed that the completion of these will ensure Dysaniian control over the entire region. These objectives are placed in three general campaigns; Toronto, the North, and Ottawa.

The Military Command has directed that the attack focus on Toronto. This has resulted in a spearhead advance in that area, as troops along the rest of the border move forward slowly and cautiously, distributing the strength of the invasion forces equally against Canadian resistance and engulfing everything in a hopefully unstoppable juggernaut advance.

Toronto
The Toronto Campaign

The first advance has occurred to the South East. The soldiers of the First, Second and Sixth Armies, 700,000 men, along with the strongest naval body in the South - the South Sea Fleet - are charged not with the occupation, but destruction of the Canadian capital. The three armies have begun their advance in the early hours of morning and are heading on a strong sweeping motion towards Toronto, in order to attempt to out flank the Canadian forces that will meet them and cut off the city from the rest of the nation.

Accompanying the three armies is the South Sea Fleet - the largest fleet Dysanii controlled and, unusually, equal in strength and training to ships in the South of their Canadian counterparts. The Admiralty has favored a crushing blow before the Canadians can muster and draw out a sea conflict, and hence the South Sea Fleet has been sent ahead towards Toronto en masse and at battle stations, ready to fire the first shots of this conflict...

Near the Canadian/Dysaniian Border

Finally, the snowfall has lighten up. thought Captain Paul Tyler. The captain was leading his company through the area between the Canadian trenches and the border known as the Death Zone. This area was filled with Canadian stromtroopers who wore skis and made life hard for the Dannies as long as possible. They were dressed in the white winter coats and pants that kept them warm and camouflaged them. The war started off with the Dannies crossing the border unhindered. Exactly what the General Staff wanted. Make the enemy be more confident and then in the Death Zone, take away that confidence. He motioned to his men. They were armed with submachine guns, machine guns, anti-tank rockets, grenades and mines. These weren't fresh conscripts, these were veterans of the Ontarian Front in the Second American-Canadian War. Tyler pulled out a pair of binoculars. He smiled. He found a large group of Dysaniian soldiers with some trucks. The trucks looked like they were bogged down in the snow. He whispered to his second, Lieutenant Sam von Hessian, the grandson of the legendary partisan and former Chancellor, Yuri von Hessian. "Lieutenant, we are outnumbered two to one. What do you think we should do?"

"Sir, i think we should spread out. Fire from all directions. But we need to make it quick. Take out the trucks so they can't use the radios and then kill the survivors."

"Alright, take Third Platoon and take the left flank. Stay down so they don't see us. Take your rifle and shoot the officers first. When the last officer goes down, then we attack."

The men spread out across the treeline just as the lieutenant had said. Captain Tyler looked on as his men prepared to fire. This would be the first casualty of the war and it wouldn't be the last. He nodded to his officers. They were ready. Lieutenant von Hessian looked through the scope of his rifle. Other snipers were looking through theirs. He got the honor of firing the first shot of the war. He found his target. A lieutenant colonel. He pulled the trigger and the shot rang out. The lieutenant colonel was hit in the head. He was dead before he hit the ground. Other snipers opened up and other officers went down. Then the machine guns opened up and cut down any Danny who didn't find cover. But there was no such thing as cover in this type of war. The Canadians had come around and fired at the Dannies who hid behind the trucks. A few rockets roared out and smashed into the trucks incinerating anyone inside and killing anyone around them. The battle lasted little bit over five minutes. Captain Tyler was proud. His men skiied down into the clearing and looked for survivors. They found three. The captain knew they couldn't hold any prisoners because they didn't have the facilities to hold them. So there was only one alternative. The survivors were shot. Captain Tyler and Lieutentant von Hessian smiled. No casualties on their side. If they kept this up, the war would end soon. They reloaded and skiied off. Off to find another group of Dannies.

Outside of London, Ontario

General Phillipe Montecalm and Field Marshal Worthington looked over a map of the region. Reports of skiing stormtroopers had been coming in. The snow had bogged down many of the Dysaniian advances, especially the ones with tanks and APCs. Just like the Americans, they underestimated the Canadian winter. Now their tanks and other weapons are freezing up. The idea of skiing stormtroopers was Montecalm's idea and he was so glad that it was working. But right now they had to talk of another matter.

"Field Marshal, fishermen have reported the Dysaniian South Seas Fleet fully massed and is steaming towards Toronto."

"They think they will win this war by laying siege to an empty, devastaed city. They are bigger fools then i thought they would be. But let's not let them lay siege to it anyway."

"They are expecting us to send the fleet out to defend the city."

"Well, it won't be ships that will lay devastation down on the fleet."

"You mean those new disappearing guns."

"Yes and the missiles."

"They are ready to defend the Great Lake coast. We also will have those new submarines go out."

"Those U-boats are the best thing we built to defend this lake. Have them out to sea and are those minlayers done yet?"

"They have finishing patching in the holes that the American Great Lake Fleet tried to break through. We will hold them off there."

"Good. Just make sure that the soldiers are finished with the trenches and other defenses so we don't have a marine landing on that coast. Send out the Great Lake Fleet. Tell them to go south to London and then steam out to destroy any surviving elements of the South Sea Fleet after the coastal defenses have done their damage."

Field Marshal Worthington looked at the map. The Dysaniian South Sea Fleet was about to be surprised. The disappearing guns made the coast look defenseless, but in truth, it is one of the strongest coasts in the Empire. Together with the missiles, the Ontario coast is a virtual fortress in itself. The country was ready for war.

South-East of Toronto

The advance continues towards the city. The constant attacks from the Canadian Stormtroopers are already demoralizing the newer recruits as the Republic forces push forwards. To combat this these soldiers are being left to garrison the towns that have been captured during the invasion; the towns provide ample shelter, food, water and labor for Federal troops marching on Toronto and have seemingly been sacrificed by the Canadian government to the Dysanii war cause.

The towns have been ripped apart to accommodate the needs of the advancing Dysanii army. Air Defence Alerting Devices along with Rapier FSC systems have been littered around these border towns to provide short range air defence against any Canadian air attacks. The small airfields encountered in these towns have also seen dramatic overhauls so that now offensive aircraft of the Dysanii Air Force including Harrier GR9s, Jaguars and Tornado GR4s can operate from Dysanii and Canadian air bases. These modifications have been put to great advantage as the Canadian trenches are heavily bombarded day and night. Aircraft are also mapping trench lines, monitoring enemy troop movements, and locating enemy artillery batteries so that they can be destroyed with counter-battery fire.

At the front of the strike force snow plows - guarded by the versatile Warrior infantry fighting vehicles - obtained from these border towns have been busy clearing roads for the heavier Dysanii armor to move through including towed and self-propelled guns and Multiple Launched Rocket Systems that will be used to bombard the Canadian trenches. The Military Command sees this as a mistake by the Canadian government as this defensive layout has been rendered obsolete in modern times as they will soon realize when the power of the Dysanii artillery is unleashed.

Dysanii infantry forces that are ahead of the armored convoys have halted and are creating bases just out of sight of the Canadian trench works - only a temporary front line until the artillery begins to attack the trenches as the Dysanii command want to maintain mobility over the entrenched Canadians. These forward units have also been issued with equipment and materials that can be used to fight the Stormtroopers including horses, stockades, sniper rifles, camouflage, Warrior infantry support vehicles and a host of other versatile operational resources.

South of Toronto

The South Sea Fleet is making good progress so far. Hunt Class MCMVs have been sent ahead of the fleet in small minesweeping flotillas, using high-definition sonar to locate and destroy the predictable Canadian mines. There are also a number of Type 23 frigates assigned to each of these minesweeping flotillas to act as support vessels including anti-submarine warfare, advance surveillance operations and small embargo operations.

Eastern Front

The Dysaniian soldiers were already feeling the bite of the Canadian troopers and the snow. Lieutenant von Hessian laughed at the reports of the enemy using horses to find the stormtroopers. "Sir, look at this. They are using mounted infantry to hunt stormtroopers."

Captain Tyler looked at it. "In winter, we are mounted infantry. They will soon realize that there are places that horses can't go that skis can transverse easily. What about these reports of them using Canadian towns as bases of operations?"

"It is true, but we aren't supposed to attack towns, we are supposed to attack Dysaniian soldiers near the trenches."

"Then let's do that."

Just as the troopers were getting ready to attack another target, a scout skiied up to the captain. "Sir, there is a large camp of Dysaniian soldiers not far from here. They are pitched up for the night."

Captain Tyler smiled. "We will attack it. Anyone else there?"

"Captain Douglass, Captain Zan, and Captain Wilson."

"Good, then we attack at nightfall."

The stormtroopers moved slowly among the trees, trying to keep low. Captain Tyler pointed to a machine gun nest. Lieutenant von Hessian screwed a silencer on his sniper rifle and took aim at the gunner. But just to be safe, three stormtroopers crawled around the nest behind it. The night and the snow camoflauged them. The lieutenant took aim and fired at the gunner. He went down. His compatriots were took by surprised, but before they could try to man the machine gun, they were jumped by the three stormtroopers. This was done quickly and quietly. Now for the camp.

They could see fires and soldiers huddled by them. The snow was doing it's damage. The four stormtrooper companies had spread out and were preparing to attack the soldiers as they huddled near the fires or in their tents. Captain Tyler gave the word. The stormtroopers opened up on the camp with machine guns, snipers, and ant-tank rockets. The Dysaniians were caught completly by surprise.

NCO's yelled to their scrambling men as the chatter of machine guns tore through the base and several explosions rocked the ground. The soldiers - this time experienced Federal infantry - threw themselves into prepared fox holes in the snow to cover themselves from the surrounding fire...and ensuing chaos. Within minutes the radio operators who were not injured or killed had called in for artillery support. Although ranged artillery firing this close to the camp was risky it was worth the Stormtroopers it killed.

From a large supply post some 20 km away a section of the Federal Dysaniian Horse Artillery began rapid firing eight M777 howitzers at precise co-ordinates given by the operators. The 155 mm projectiles began exploding around the base sending snow and unfortunate stormtroopers up in violent impacts. Although the radio operators tried their best the projectiles did land many times close to - and within - the base, destroying structures, fox holes and tanks. Those who had not been killed by the now waning stormtrooper fire were at the mercy of the ability of the operators to keep the artillery support at bay.

Some Dysanii tank crews, deciding their fate in their own vehicles was better then freezing in fox holes, sprinted towards their Warrior support vehicles. Several were cut down by chaotic firing from the dazed Canadian stormtroopers, whilst those who made it leaped into their armored sanctuaries and blindly unleashed 30mm projectiles from their L21 Rarden cannon turrets and 7.62mm chain guns into the blizzards of snow around the outside of the base in the hope of hitting their enemy.

Captain Tyler stayed down as artillery shells rained down on them. But with no proper visual contact by the radio operaters, the artillery was doing little harm. The stormtroopers were silencing their fire to not give away their positions. Some even got up and moved around. He looked at Lieutenant von Hessian whostill had his silencer on. "Lieutenant, radio in for air support! We need A-10s and attack copters to let loose on the enemy!"

"Yes, sir!" He picked up the radio. "This is the Fifth Stormtrooper Company, Seventh Regiment. We are under attack by Dysaniian soldiers at these corrdinates. We request immediate air support!"

"We are on our way, soldier."

The stormtroopers ceased firing to look like they were leaving. The Dysaniian regulars still didn't leave their holes, but they peeked over the top to see. In truth, the stormtroopers were ready for a second offensive. Suddenly, the screaming of A-10s and Havoc copters tore through the night sky and sent missiles into the Dysaniian camp. The infantry tried to get down, but some were hit. The tanks were hit with missiles. The bombers and copters made one pass and left. But the air attack wasn't over yet. A Spectre gunship appeared and sent howitzer and gatling gun fire into the camp. The stormtroopers attacked with full force. They skiied down the hill trying not to get themselves shot. Captain Tyler stopped and fired his submachine gun at two Dysaniian soldiers. Lieutenant von Hessian pulled out two submachine pistols and fired at the dazed Dysaniian soldiers as they got among the enemy lines with remarkable speed. Some stormtroopers pulled out Panzerfausts and shot the reamining tanks. The Spectre gunship still laid down howitzer fire. Captain Tyler shot three Dysaniian soldiers trying to surrender. This battle was as good as won.

Please stand by for a message from His Imperial Majesty George VII

The Imperial coat of arms vanished almost as fast as it had flashed onto ever screen tuned into the I-SBC.

The 68 year old Emperor stood at a podium bearing the Imperial arms, Crofts, Destler, and the Minister of War Mark Anderson stood behind him.

"The security of our allies" he began,
"must never be in jeopardy."
"If the Parliamentary Republic of Dysanii does not withdraw from Canadian soil within 72 hours, the Empire of Inglo-Scotia will take swift and decisive military action to see that this objective does become a reality.
I am addressing the Kennedy administration in Boston when I say the Democratic States of America should not interfere in Canadian defences or aid the Dysanii aggressors. Such action would result in renewed Imperial military action against your nation.
Remove your forces from Canadian soil, Dysanii, or we will force them out."

Meanwhile in Glomin.

General Marcus Von Flick strode through the halls of the palace his boots clacking against the cold tile floors, he paused slightly adjusting his uniform and flicking off bits of imaginary dust off his medals before opening the ornate wooden door.  He entered the warm fire lit room where Willik and Sarah Von Endorp were playing chess, he nodded a small bow to each of them and then he froze his eyes locked on the strange sight in the corner of the room.  There a royal guardsman sat hunched over writing furiously his shacko on the table wire rimmed spectacles perched on his nose and his rifle propped up against a nearby bookcase.  Before Marcus could begin bawling out the guardsman Willik interjected "I gave him permission Marcus, he's got an essay for Von Tock due in tomorrow, you remember we used to call him the bearded devil when we were guardsmen" (OOC: the royal guard is a military formation used for the guarding of the royal family and also serves the function of a officer training school, all officers who have been guardsmen are Von)  "now are you here about the Canadian business or are you just here to distract Sarah from her chess game" at this Sarah blushed and kicked Willik under the table "dear sister you do remember that I am king and so kicking me is treason" muttered Willik smiling as he moved a piece.  "Its about the Canadian situation Your High...Willik, as you ordered we've arranged a convoy of food, medical goods, spare parts, ammunition and so on, we've also got the 1st fighter squadron loaded and ready to go" splutered the somewhat red general.  "Very good Marcus now you must tell me about how the re-armerment is going......."

Field Marshal Worthington looked over the various letters he received from the members of PI and other sympathetic nations. They will come to his aid, but it will be awhile. I need to find a way to end this war quickly or at leasty make it harder on the Dannies. He looked over the map. All together, three major towns had fallen to the Dannie advance. Brampton, Windsor, and Kitchener had fallen. But they had something that was valuble to the Dannies. they were the only towns with airfields. If I get the air force to bomb the airfields, then the Dannies will have to use the airfields in their own territory. But I will have to find a way to get rid of those ones too. He prepared his men for the air attack, but he couldn't send bombers into Dannie territory, that was almost suicidal. He would have to find another way later to break those airfields. But if he could destroy the airfields here, then the Canadian Air Force will be able to fully challenge the Dysanii Air Force in open combat. But first, they would have to use something that could get them close to the airfields. Worthington thought hard, until General Currie walked in. "Field Marshal, we are almost ready for the operation. We will be leaving tonight."

"General, I have no idea on how to get my pilots close to those towns without getting shot down."

"I already solved that problem. Instead of mass bombing raids, our military contracters have built for us three squadrons of stealth bombers called B-2s. We fly them at night across Dannie lines to Brampton, Windsor, and Kitchenor, then they bomb the airfields with smart bombs."

"I like the idea. Launch it tonight General Currie. Then when that happens, we have broken the back of the Dannie invasion. Without those airfields, they will have to fly the extra miles to get to us."

The squadron of B-2s flew silently across the night sky. Captain Greg O'Niel watched the planes next him as they crossed into Dannie-held territory. Their goal was Windsor and it's airfield. The other two squadrons were heading to Brampton and Kitchenor. At night, the Dysaniian Air Force stays on the airfields because dog-fighting at night is suicidal and only an idiot commander would ever try to pull off a move like that. He could see the lights of Windsor. He smiled at the stealth capabilities of this new bomber. Anti-air batteries haven't even opened up on them. They soon where over the town. The men readying to drop the bombs, looked for the targets. They would hit the airfield itself, and the the hangers where the Dysaniian fighters and bombers where located. But because of the size of the invasion force and the size of the air force needed to help it, most of the planes were outside of the hangers. They looked at him. "Ready, Captain."

"All bombers, pick your targets and drop the bombs"

The B-2 bombers dropped the smart bombs that hit every target that they needed. The airfields were alive with fire. The hangers were torn apart and the planes on the ground were nothing more then empty shells now. The bombers left as silently and as quickly as they came. Captain O'Niell got reports back from Brampton and Kitchenor. The airfields there were hit as well. He smiled. "The Dannies may rule the day sky, but we rule the night sky. The sky that truly matters." His men cheered as they crossed into safe Canadian territory.

ooc: Dysanii, I need info on your east coast

The deep blue waters of the ocean splash against the hull of the C.L.S Fear as it thrusts through at full throttle. Above them, storm clouds brew into a turbulent whirl, spilling down hail and freezing winds down onto the surface. The crew took refuge inside from the cold, no doubt staying there for the rest of the mission as they head for the sub-zero waters of the deep south. Their main mission was to scout out ahead of the main Loyanese flotilla and conduct reconnaissance of the Dysaniian East fleet.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
It was 5:23 am, and the Captain of the Fear had just woken up. Before she could get her uniform on, a knock came at her door.

"Captain, we just received a satellite overlay update." Ensign Mery placed a blue folder on Captain Hian's desk. The sleepy Captain picked up the blue folder, then opened it up. In her half awake state, the words and images of the blue report made no sense.

"Sum it up for me Ensign, you know I'm brain dead before my morning coffee.."

"Yes Mam. Sat-E passover has reveal the Dysanii fleet operating around these areas of the northeast coast. We already mark these areas off, and the flotilla will be avoiding them for the time being. Naval Command has reviewed the intel sent them over last night, High Admiral Lian has instructed us to maintain present course until the Dassies make their move. So far, our targets appear open."

Ensign Mery watched intuitively as Captain Hian stirred herself a cup of black coffee. It was an odd trait for the madam officer to have; most Loyanese drank tea, but the Captain was an exception. The reason for her preference was quite a hype among the crew and fleet.

"Coffee, Mr. Mery?"
"No thank you, Mam. I'll be in the bridge if you need me." Ensign Mery blankly walked to the door to leave.

The door closed, and Captain Hian was left alone in her spacious room. As usual, she couldn't knock off the feeling that her crew, especially Ensign Mery, was cold towards her. For the last three months she was on the Fear, they were bulking away from her whenever she was present. The Cook and gallery Hands glanced away from her during meals, officers were quiet whenever she was at the bridge, and she knew crew members talked behind her back. They were most likely still distress over the arrest of their original captain, the popular Gwan Jiu who was arrested for his connections with the former Military Commissioner. Until she can shake off the past loyalties of her crew to Jiu, bonding with her subordinates will be very difficult...

---------------------------------------------------

"Captain on deck!"

Captain Hian walks uncomfortably into the bridge. The bridge occupants raised up and gave an protocol salute, which aggravated her even more. It was a way of saying she was a stranger to them all, a stranger not worthy of informality and comradeship. She takes her reserve seat in the middle of the bridge, with Ensign Mery on her front and left, while the right side chair reserved for the Lieutenant was empty.

"Where's Lieutenant Long?" she asked the Ensign.
"She's at breakfast. If you like, I can bring you some from the gallery." Mery replied.
"That's alright Ensign, thank you though."
"You're welcome," Ensign Mery blankly said. Mery went back to his work on the desk console without another word to the captain.

While the noise of conversation was dead in the bridge, the dark room was alive with the lights and shimmer of LCD screens and switches. From these controls and screens, the most advance frigate built by Loyan was command and operated. The Type 053-03 Class multirole frigates represented a major improvement from the older warships of the Loyanese Navy, a pinnacle of Loyanese military engineering. Long range radars, passive sonar, RAM air/missile defense, advance jammers, and YJ-83 cruise missiles rested in the hands of Captain Hian and her crew.

"How far are we from our nearest objective?"
"381 km Captain..."
"Have the Sea Hind take off for a frontal OTH search, I want our active radars off as well."
"Yes Captain...Attention on deck, Sea Hind Duo is to report to the Sea Hind for frontal OTH reconnaissance..."

Within seven minutes, the Fear's designated Sea Hind lifted off the heli deck and flew up ahead of the ship to do a over-the-horizon radar scan. The move was extremely risky as there was a high possibility of Dysaniian radar detecting the Sea Hind. But at this stage of the war, it didn't matter as the enemy likely has already suspected their presence. Detection ranked higher than stealth at this point.

The sea was calm, in an unsettling way. The HIMS Kraken, the Imperial Navy's newest dreadnought, was approaching Dysanii waters, an armada in tow.

Admiral Thomas Gloucester splashed some water from his sink to do away with any remnants of shaving cream or lose hairs. After slipping on a white undershirt he buttoned his navy jacket trimmed in gold, finally adjusting the slash and belt, the slash adorned with various orders and meddles he'd been awarded over the years.
Having finished his morning routine he left his quarters for the bridge.

Hopefully this would be the action that brought the continent to PI's knees, specifically Inglo-Scotia's knees.
"Admiral on deck!" Commander Hastings announced.
The two officers exchanged salutes, the Commander officially turning the Kraken's bridge to the Admiral.

"Everything is ready sir" Hastings reported.
"Send this message to the fleet; Admiral Gloucester reporting. Commence blockade formation. Nothing goes in or comes out of a Dysanii port."

A slight shock rocked the sub. Moore took an other look. The Dysanii raider was on fire at sea.

"Proceed on course" Moore commanded, satisfied with the recent kill.

Toronto

The Dysanii advance on Toronto has halted for sometime; but for very good reasons. Hordes of planes from Dysanii proper have been continually bombing the dug-in Canadian army, destroying tanks, entrenchments, military positions, and killing many soldiers. Of course, some have been lost to enemy fighters and anti-air ground forces, but the numerous units of the Dysanii Air Force have been very effective in destroying and demoralizing the men of the Canadian forces at Toronto, cutting manpower in the region significantly and turning the land immediately in front of the Canadian trenches into boggy mud pits.

During this the ground forces have not moved near the trenches. Allowing the Air Force and artillery units to pound the life out of the Canadian trenches, the forces have slowly built up but kept moving continually, the mobility providing some security against Canadian aerial attacks and weakening the Stormtrooper incursions as more land is patrolled by more Dysaniian troops.

In retaliation to the Canadian bombardments of the occupied towns, the Dysanii Army has decided that they cannot comfortably operate planes out of them, and closed the air fields. Instead, planes from the South Sea Fleet - which has also stopped short of the city - have been diverted to light bombing attacks on the crumbling city of Toronto itself; not necessarily to cause any significant loss to the Canadian Army, but merely to scare, or kill, civilians and destroy what is left of the city. The occupied towns have also been subsequently leveled using bombs, and their civilians sent to Dysanii war factories in order to aid the Dysanii war effort.

The massed forces that have been heading towards Toronto have been redirected away from the city, to cut off the bewildered forces stationed at Toronto from any help. Small detachments have been left ahead of the trenches out-of-sight in order to continue ground bombardment of the trenches, whilst the main body of the force moves North (?).

Now, as the trench networks at Toronto quickly deteriorate under the increased pressure from the Dysanii Air Force and are being cut-off, Dysaniian ground forces - all along the border - in response to the threats from numerous other nations have begun moving on the Canadians in force in an effort to overpower the outnumbered Canadian troops by attacking along the entire front.

North of Toronto

The forces designated to fight in Toronto have begun moving with all due haste towards Kingston. Along with the forward attack from Dysanii, Kingston will be attacked from two fronts, whilst in the process this will cut the Toronto forces from receiving any reinforcements or supplies.

Kingston

A large Dysaniian army has begun advancing steadily towards Kingston, engulfing the smaller towns it comes across and destroying them. This army will meet up with the Southern Army advancing from Toronto and conduct a two pronged attack on the city.

Hamilton and Montreal

The third element of the invasion is a massive army that is heading towards Hamilton. This army will split as half bombards Hamilton whilst the other moves North-West alongside the coastal city of Montreal, where it will dip in to the rear of the city and besiege it, preventing reinforcements to enter the city.

Dysanii East Coast

The large bulk of Dysanii flotillas are clinging to the coast in order to maintain protection from the extensive coastal defenses; the opportunity to attack enemy fleets at sea has unfortunately been passed up, however this also makes the coast well fortified as Dysanii ships patrol its waters. Some troops have been filtered towards the North-East of the coast in support of the advance on Montreal.

Empress Alia, the sixteen year old monarch of Canada looked at the camera as she said her speech. "This attack by the Dysaniian Republic was unprovoked and we are paying the price. We have been nothing but peaceful nieghbors. We niether took war to our nieghbors even though they have tried to destroy us or our friends. I have declared that the Greater Canadian Empire hereby declare total war. We will place every factory into building for the war effort. As well as move them away from the battlefields so they are safe. The Dysaniians believe that we only survived for two hundred years because of our allegiance to Inglo-Scotia. We will prove them wrong. We will fight them from the forests, we fight them from the plains, we fight them from the mountains, we will fight them from the tundra, but we will be victorious. We will see this war to the end and we will see victory. Parliament has rewarded Lord Protector Rommel and I emergency powers, so I have decreed that Lord Protector Rommel will lay down his civilian title and return to the war effort as Supreme Commander of the Canadian Armed Forces. Ladies and gentlemen, we will show the Dysaniians that they have awakened a sleeping dragon and we are mad."

All around the Empire and expecially on the battlefields, a message was played over and over again on the radio. Also this message was sent to the allies of Greater Canada and finally the message was sent to the government of Dysanii. "ROMMEL IS BACK!"

Toronto Front

Worthinto looked at the maps as he noticed the Dysaniian armies try to use a two pronged attack on Toronto. He read the reports from the front. The troops were basiclly being forced into the trenches. He couln't change the tactics quickly, but he knew that the Toronto region was lost. General Montecalm walked into the Field Marshal's office. "Sir, the Dysaniians are nearing Toronto. You know as well as I that southern Ontario is lost. Field Marshal Rommel has sent word that he needs your assistance. You need to leave now or you will never be able to leave."

Worthington looked up. "Are you asking me to abandon my men?"

"No, sir. I am telling you to leave to continue to protect your men. I will continue to lead the men here. Rommel has come up with a new plan of attack that may take our attacks to the offensive. But he needs you and your experience in tanks. A copter is waiting for you."

Worthington got up and nodded. "I will leave then. Be careful, General." Field Marshal Worthington walked to the top of the HQ. A military copter was waiting, and Worthington got in. Rommel needs me and I have had to flee my front. I swear this, I will return with an army behind me and I will free my people. The copter took off and flew over the entrenched soldiers and towards the remainder of free Greater Canada. No fighters appeared to challenge the copter nor any anti-air missiles. They flew for hours until they came to the capital. The war wasn't far from Ottawa, but the city isn't a priority....not yet. The copter landed on the Ottawa Military Central HQ. Worthington left and found Field Marshal Rommel waiting for him.

"Hello, Xavier."

"Hello, Frank. I need you to come and look at this." Rommel handed the Field Marshal a folder. He looked through it. It was a new method of not defense, but offensive. Worthington was surprised. "Sir, this is brillant. The Dysaniians won't know what hit them. What has been done to prepare for this?"

"I have pulled back some of the most experienced divisions from the front to prepare for the thrust. I called you to Ottawa because I want you to lead one of the new armies. We will reach our goal in one week and then we will attack."

Worthington looked at the Field Marshal. "Yes, sir. But i can improve on this. Show me to your office and I can show you."

The Great Lake

The Great Lake Fleet under the Great Lake battleship Laura Secord moved in to attack the South Seas Fleet. they had finally gotten through the minefields and were attacking Toronto. The fleet moved into position. They neared the South Seas Fleet. A fleet though small but was equal to size with the Canadian Great Lake Fleet. But the Great Lake Fleet had an advantage. The coastal defenses. The South Seas Fleet was close to Toronto, or close enough where the Great Lake Fleet and the coastal defenses could open up on them. A splash landed next to one of the ships. The South Seas Fleet was firing back at the Canadian fleet. The Canadian battleships returned the greeting with their main guns, while the smaller carriers let ther fighters fly. The South Seas Fleet let their fighters fly to counter the Canadian fighters. But just as the South Sea Fleet attacked the Great Lake Fleet, the disappering guns appeared and opened up on the South Sea Fleet.

The disappearing guns were in reality, battleship guns that worked on a hydolic that lifted them over their concrete and steel holding. From there they fired and then to reload they disapperaed again. This made them difficult to hit and with them constantly firing at the South Sea Fleet, the disappering guns were doing their damage. Land-based fighters flew from bases outside of Toronto and London to aid their carrier-based comrades. Soon numbers and power were going against the South Sea Fleet.

Click. Click. Click.

The boots of the Sturmmann heading towards the airfield, where the entire field's stash of transport planes were waiting, made an ominous sound as their shiny jackboots repeatedly slammed into the cobblestones of the sidewalk of the normally inactive Myrorian town. Their coats were blowing in the wind, and the high-pitched, distorted voice of the commander just barely made it through their helmets' thick walls. There were some protestors over a war that Myroria shouldn't be in, but most people were just in their houses, continuing their lives. They weren't overly enthused about the war, but they didn't consider it illegal or an abodimation. To them, it weren't their sons, it wasn't their problems. The more outspoken ones usually had sons and brothers behind the smoked plastic of the Sturmmann's helmet.

These men were from Great House Hanso: You could tell because their helmets were silver and their coats white. Quarrovth's soldiers would have had white helmets. Vrotrith never fought, they hated any war where "outlanders were sent to die for a country that hates them". Conservative pundits back in the capital were already pushing Dysanii into the canals of Pelagis. The Imperial Family just hoped it wouldn't get worse; that was bad for their image.

The boot stomping ceased. A streak of red across the sky; Clytemnestra One was deorbiting - the moonshot had been put off until the war had gotten to the stand-still phase. Now the soldiers were in the planes, the closing of 57 metal doors replaced it. For a few hours, jets replaced that. Then the small Myrorian town was silent once again.

For the last few weeks, thousands of shipments from Loyan had been crossing the ocean by boat to deliver war materials to the Canadians. They were filled with rifle ammunition, explosives, and titanium ingots in great amounts, all produce by the mobilizing industry of Loyan. There was money to be made, and factories were gearing their machinery to war production.

The cargo ships to carry these war materials were few and short. Many Loyanese shippers refuse to carry any cargo to Canada, on account of the risk involve. Few were willing to face the hazard pose by the Dysaniian fleet and the Loyanese Navy was short of ships to escort the shipments. Terran shipping companies had to be sourced to make up for the shortfall.

In parliament, Districtors were faced with an abrupt spit among the population regarding the war. Half supported the war efforts against the unjustified invasion, while the other was strongly opposed to any sort of military action and demanded diplomatic efforts be taken to end the war. The country was split between the pro-war and pacifists. When a bill was passed to give the military 5 billion dollars for a aircraft carrier program, protest broke out in downtown Na Sui. When the Districtor of Wai openly opposed the war, he was egged by pro-war citizens during his commute to work. State Police fear another breakdown in the social stability of Loyan.

The businesses of Loyan were pro-war. A conflict 5000 km away that was ripe for profit and free of risks; how could they pass the chance? The State was anxious to push the Dassies out of Canada, and they had taken out massive loans from international banks to pay for the war effort. Entrepreneurs were grabbing for the contracts and bids; a winning hand can add a few million, potentially hundred of millions, dollars to their pockets.

Copperville

Opposition to the Republic has taken a dramatic turn in Copperville. The city is in the Northern Region of Dysanii and has long been vocally anti-Republic in favor of restoring the monarchy. Local political leaders of the pro-monarchy movement have organized and equipped an army of 13,000 Imperial Guards and plan to arrest the current Republic government at Chandalar.

People of the Northern cities are already flocking to join this militia and help establish the former empire of Imperial Camulodunum. In response to this the Republic has collected a force of 100,000 National Reserves local to the region and ordered the capture of Copperville in order to prevent an internal conflict that would hinder the war effort.

The pro-monarchists in Copperville have sent out a plea to all foreign nations to contribute supplies in the form of weapons and materials to the anti-Republic militia. The most prominent leaders have promised an end to the war should they seize power from the government and in the short-term have sworn to release the ill-treated Canadian civilian laborers. However they have also stated that should foreign soldiers set foot on Dysanii the Imperial Guard will assist the Federal Army in fighting the outside aggression in unity with the Republic before ultimately removing Republic power themselves.

We ask for war reparations and the island on the South Sea. Then we may have more then enough weapons for you. We also will give you Dysaniian uniforms so you can launch the coup from the capital and not from the north.

After several months of planning and a brief two week boat ride, the main body of Loyanese forces arrive in Halifax with the more lucrative portions of Loyanese aid. The port was bustling with traffic where the flood of war materials enter the country. The Loyanese convoy had to wait quite a while before a pier was clear for them. Once they landed, unloading began right away and logistic personnel quickly synchronized with Canadian agents to get the supplies out into the war zone.

The First Anyia Expeditionary Force consists of several motorized divisions and a bulk of the LAA's air defense batteries. Elements of the Loyanese Advance Warfare (LAW)'s Electronic Warfare division were attached as well. A total of 30,000 combat personnel, 2500 combat vehicles, and their logistic divisions were present, ready for action. Their first day in Canada was however, nothing short of calamitous. Emerging from their heated cabins, the cold winds and snow hits them like a sledge hammer. Grand Marshal Yulin was particular bitter with the cold. His hometown of Jongling never got colder than 18'C in the wet season; here he was shivering to death in a wind chill of -18'C.

"It's like a meat freezer in here...achoo!..."
"It only gets colder from here Sir, war zone's getting temperatures in the minus 30s..."
"Oh Heaven...pass that tea will you..."
"Kettles empty, I'll make some more..."

Along with the Expeditionary Force came 86 fresh off the line S-300-PMU2 surface-to-air systems meant for the Canadians. Once the Canadians provide enough trucks to transport them, the FAEF will escort them to the desire areas to be set up and operated. Once online, the SAMs will provide a 200km radius air defense umbrella against Dassie aircraft.

Kingston

The army advancing from Toronto has met up with the Eastern force at Kingston. Bombing operations have begun along with minor infiltration by Marines within the city. A sizable part of this army has moved West in order to hopefully cut-off the Canadian troops at Toronto from help and eventually sandwich them from fresh national Reserves moving up West of the border.

Hamilton and Montreal

Major offensives have occurred at Hamilton with significant results as parts of the city are taken, but with a hefty price in Dysaniian lives. Due to this, and the withdrawal of some Federal troops to combat the growing threat to the North, the proposed attacks on Montreal have been temporarily aborted to allow a focus on Hamilton.

Dysanii East Coast

The flotillas clinging to the coast have not encountered any significant offensives. The Republic has sent more troops towards the North-East of the coast as large Canadian and Valideen naval forces have been collecting near that area. A destroyer has also been dispatched to Rhodes.

East of Copperville

9,000 Imperial Guards have met up with the Emperors Own Volunteer Army (EOVA), an Army predominately of Northerners including armed civilians, sailors, police and deserters of local National Guard regiments which is commanded by the temporary autonomous government at Copperville, currently established as the Copperville Provisional Government. This force has moved East to the port city of Rhodes and surrounding area were it hopes to confront and repel the 100,000 Republic troops and take command of the city, which would allow foreign allies of the Pro-Monarchist Movement to sent supplies via the sea.

A further 2,000 Imperial Guards have also been sent to Alexandroupolis, a town further North, with the intention of freeing the Emperor from the small Republic garrison there.

Ottawa

Grand Duchess Selene was waiting in the palace for her daughter to arrive. Selene felt down and weak ever since her husband, the former Emperor of Greater Canada was assasinated. Emperor Nathaniel and Empress Miray had offered to allow her to go back home to Feneixia, but she turned it down. She needed to watch over her daughter and also over the country that she came to love. But today with the development of the Copperville Provisional Government in Dysanii, she felt as if Alia had gone too far. With that, Selene had gone before a secret meeting of Parliament and asked them to take away Alia's emergency powers and instead give them to her. The parliamentarians knew that Selene was a wonderful diplomat and leader. People describe her as the power behind the throne when her husband was in power. So Parliament signed a document making Selene ruling Regent of Greater Canada until her daughter's twentieth birthday, from which she will take command.

Alia walked in. "Mother, how are you." She smiled. Selene thought to herself. This girl deserves to have a normal life and not be forced to lead her people through war.

"Alia, Parliament has written this document. They are ordering you to hand your emergency powers over to me and allow me to assume my position as Regent. You are a young lady, who needs to worry about other things besides war and leading a nation. You will get power back when you are twenty, but until then I am now Regent."

Alia looked over the document and nodded. "I will follow this. You are now in command. Do what you see fit."

Battle of Hamilton

It was utter chaos. The city of Hamilton was under siege by the Dysaniian army. The Canadian soldiers however where not giving up ground as easily as the Dysaniian military thought they would. If the Canadians had to give up ground, they were making the Dysaniians pay with blood and lots of it. Building to building fighting was taking place, street battles were all too common. Lieutenant von Hessian was looking from the window of an abandoned apartment building. He lined his scope down on an unsuspecting Dysaniian soldier. He fired and got the soldier in the head. von Hessian moved to another window to avoid being detected. He looked around. Other snipers were taking positions and firing. The crackle of machine gun fire was heard in the distance. Small arms fire was everywhere. von Hessian knew that the city was far from taken and the Canadians were not about to hand over Hamilton. Burning shells of tanks and planes littered parts of the city. The Canadian army knew that if hamilton fell, so fell Montreal and later Northern Greater Canada. Their commanders had said exactly what the soldiers wanted to hear. "Not one step back. If we have to fall back, make the enemy pay in blood for every kilometer, but otherwise, we stand our ground."

Battle of Kingston

The Canadian soldiers hid among the rubble of the city. Kingston was alos turning into another Hamilton. The Canadian army's new tactic of not one step back was also making Kingston a fight to the death. The few Dysaniian soldiers that entered were being met with a fierce Canadian resistance that wasn't about to fail. The soldiers knew that this was their home and they needed to defend it. They knew that the Canadian Empire could not fall if they fought for her. The amount of fresh soldiers to fight were coming in daily. Kingston was soon turning into a melting pot. The street-to-street battle turned recruits into veterans almost overnight. they learned quickly the horrors of war and they knew that they had to make the Dysaniians pay in blood if they wanted Kingston. If Kingston fell then Ottawa, the capital of the Empire, would be threatened.

Skywatcher Batteries, Aircraft Engagement Area
(http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a241/kovona/S-300.jpg)

Vicinity of Montreal

"Palis, time to switch off the radar and move!"
"Alright, you got my ARU?"
"Beef rice, hot off the pot!"

The 5th Sky Watcher Battery had been operating outside of the city limits for the last three days, extending an invisible air defense umbrella over a 125 600 sq.km area. The battery consisted of several S-300 missile launchers and several sets of mobile radar, all spread out in Montreal's rural wilderness. If there was anything that the Loyanese knew best about, it would be operating SAMs. 5th Sky Watch was no exception, and they were to follow everything by the textbook.

Palis got out from the command cab of the REV (Radar Equipped Vehicle) and open up the control panel at the side of the 8-wheel truck. The REV's Altitude Search Radar Array towers over him, sending a out the hum of electricity. Palis pulls the power switch and the hum dissipates. Once he was sure the radar had power down, he pulls the hydraulic lever, and the radar array begins to fold down onto the truck bed. There was the heavy catch of a metal lock as the array drops into place.

"All done here!" Palis yells out.
"Alright! I left your meal on the hood. Get it and let's go!" Lien yells back. Lien also finishes with his truck and ran off to check on the others. Once the other three REVs were done packing up, Lien signals the LGF soldiers that were escorting them.

Palis watches as the LFG commander in charge nods in response and jogs off to his armor vehicle. His shivering subordinates do the same, more than relieve to get out from the cold and into the heated confines of their carriers. Palis feels a bit guilty; while he was in his warm cabin, the 3rd Lotus Regiment had to stand outside in the snow and wind. All to protect his Skywatcher ass...

"Palis, get driving! We have a schedule to keep..."
"Uh...sorry!"

Palis grabs his ration meal from the hood of the truck and gets into the driver seat. After making sure his meal was secure in the tray made just for the purpose, he switches the gear from park. The truck had been left on idle; as he and his unit learned on the first day, starting up the engines in Canadian winter was a shit load of hassle. Better to just leave it on and skip ignition, idling also provided heating to the cab.

The entire convoy moves across the white face of the landscape, swiveling between clusters of pine trees and bare maples. Leading the convoy is Lien, the only person in the unit to know the next location of the "set up". Air defense is a serious matter, which affords no room for error. Each Skywatcher battery is given a encoded randomized schedule, showing where and when each part of the battery will move. Decoding was done by a Designated Keeper like Lien, who was trained to read the code. It was a lot like artillery tactics, constant displacement of your guns to prevent enemy counter batteries. In this case, missiles and radar was move around constantly to throw off the enemy. It was difference between a effective air umbrella and an aircraft breaking through and blowing your ass out with an anti-rad missile.

"Alright, get your REVs up." Lien shouts out as he jumps out from his truck. They had moved five kilometers from their former-location, into a elevated forest clearing.
"How long's the cool down?" Palis asks after taking a bite from his beef rice.
"One hour before we go online again. You and the others take a break, I'll watch the Passive."

Palis went to join his REV comrades. They were gather around lone tree, where a LFG private was trying to climb up.

"Hei, what the hell you doing?" Palis yells up the tree. Leis, Lien's sister, answers him, "Trying to get a good lookout of the surroundings..."
Private Hei yells down, "It's a sea of snow up here!"
"Get down before you break your back..."

Everyone laughs out. For the moment, the land and sky are calm and Palis had a while to admire the alien landscape before him. He breathes in the frosty air. As it circulates in his lungs, he could had swear that there was the taste of smoke and gunpowder from the battlefield of Kingston.

Under the cover of an Allied invasion in Dysanii's north, the Loyanese flotilla launched several attacks on offshore oil wells near the east coast. A total of five major offshore wells were taken down with YJ-82 missiles coordinated by GPS.

Through the operation, a small Dysaniian fleet attachment engaged the Loyanese flotilla with support of inland fighter aircraft. The Loyanese flagship, Iron Angel, kept enemy air elements at bay with it's battery of S-300 SAMs and jamming measures. However, several losses resulted from closing Dysaniian ships, sinking one supply vessel and damaging two frigates. The Loyanese flotilla scored no kills against enemy warships, but did get twenty confirm kills against enemy aircraft.

C.L.S Fear, the forward element of the flotilla, gain the distinction of being the first Loyanese warship to shoot down a enemy missile with the new RAM system. The Fear was on a retreat course to the Iron Angel's SAM umbrella, when a unidentified Dysanii aircraft launched a two consecutive anti-ship missiles at 80 km off range. The first missile enter within 6km of the Fear before being destroy by a RAM missile. The second missile enter within 4km of the ship, surviving one RAM missile, but being hit by a second one. A total of four RAM missiles were launched. As the captain of the ship will later remark, "It was two million dollars well spent...".

The Loyanese flotilla manage to escape, leaving with 31 personnel killed and many other wounded. The supply ship was destroy when an anti-ship missile hit its stern. Ten crewmen managed to escape before she sank four minutes later. A frigate was also damaged when a RAM missile fail to destroy the missile completely. The missile flew onto the starboard deck, where it exploded and killed fourteen people and injured several others. The second frigate suffered a hit to its bow when it's defense systems were overwhelmed by a barrage of fifteen to twenty anti-ship missiles. Both frigates retained propulsion, and escaped with the remainder of the flotilla.

The flotilla is now heading back to Yaolin for refit and combat analysis. It now was apparent that the Loyanese Fleet required more ships and a carrier to better it's chances against the Dysaniian Navy.

Kingston and Hamilton

The fighting had been long and bitter and both cities now lay in ruins. News of the establishment of the Copperville Provisional Government has only fueled the loyalty of the Federal soldiers on the front and kept them fighting for the Republic. However communications have also discovered the creation of Canadian super-tanks and their current transportation to the front.

Although information of such tanks is fleeting and considered by some rumor the Military Command is taking no chances as foreign forces also approach the 'Eastern Wall' - a coastal line of defense measures enacted by the Military Command that is growing stronger each day including temporary airfields, barbed wire, mines, bunkers, gun emplacements, the works.

With the growing realization that a seaborne invasion is imminent the Military Command has gone all-out to push the Canadians out of the cities. Guns, howitzers and grenades are among some of the fresh arms that have flooded to the front from the Dysanii power industries and the troops in the cities have been armed accordingly.

With this new equipment the Military Command has sent out orders to all military commanders to throw out the stalling Canadian defenders. With renewed vigor and plenty of munitions the Dysaniian forces have thrown themselves at the Canadians, tirelessly mounting numerous violent attacks and breaking the tired and semi-surprised Canadian lines in several places. Heavy air strikes have also been called in, totally flattening vast areas of the cities in Canadian hands. A total of 1,000,000 of the equipped and trained troops assembled before the war broke are/have been involved in these massive pushes and signs are showing of the hastily assembled Canadian forces being scattered to Eastern provinces.

Ottawa

Rommel looked out at the east from the window of the Ottawa Central Military HQ. He couldn't believe it. The war wasn't going as well as he thought. He needed to think of a new strategy. A new defensive strategy. Defending th cities was depleting the resources. He needed to force the Dysaniians to meet the Canadian armies in the open. Abandoning Kingston and Hamilton would be wise. No need to lose good men over a single or two cities. But we needed to change our strategy. Winter is almost over and when it is over, I can launch my counter-attack. Only a few more devolopments and preparations will need to be done before I launch. I need to keep the heavy tanks away from the front. Make the Dysaniian commanders believe they are rumors. Perhaps those new artillery systems, what were they called?... COBRAS. That's it. They will be able to get rid of the Dysaniian artillery that had so harshly been beating us. Rommel picked up the phone. "Field Marshal Worthington, I want to order the retreat of the armies from Kingston and Hamilton...I know what that means...Listen, I want the Dysaniians to pay for every mile...If we don't want them to take Ottawa, then make them bleed their forces until I am able to launch Operation Theriot...Get it done." He hung up. It ends in spring.

Ten Miles Outside of Kingston

Colonel Thomas Mackenzie looked at his computer as his Leopard II tanks awaited the coming Dysaniian assault. He was waiting patiently as the infantry hid around the dug-in tanks. The Colonel knew that this position was only temporary. After a few Dysaniian assaults, he will ahve to retreat back another five or six miles where the next set of emplacements were waiting. Suddenly artillery rained around the tanks and infantry. Damn, I can't do anything. "Call in arties! Tell them we need help!" his radioman called in artillery.

A Few Miles Away

Captain Eric Daniels was looking over his howitzers just as the call came in. A lieutenant ran up. "Sir, it's the First Imperial Mounted. They need artillery support."

"Well, I don't think they would bother to call us if they didn't. Do we know the Dannie artillery location?"

"Yes, sir. The COBRA has picked up the enemy arty."

"Hit them."

The howitzer crews aimed their guns to the coordinates that the COBRAS were telling them and then they opened up on them. A few rocket artillery joined in and fired. The colonel was happy, the Dannies were about to get a rude awaiting.

Ten Miles Outside of Kingston

Colonel Mackenzie watched as the artillery fire slowed and then stopped. The Canadian artillery did what they were supposed to do. Now it was going to be a ground attack. But it never came. A group of attack copters appeared and engaged the tanks. One missile nailed the tank next to Mackenzie. But then, A-10s appeared and attacked the copters. Something that this war taught. Attack copters were useless against fighters. The fighters chased the copters and shot as many as they could down. Now the ground attack happened. The tanks were ready and so were the infantry. A regiment of mechanized infantry and tanks appeared to challenge the Canadian defenders.

"Load a HEAT round and prepare to fire." ordered Mackenzie. His gunner gave him the thumbs up. "Fire." The tank kicked back as the cannon fired. A HEAT round slammed into the lead tank lightening it up. "Call in the arty and continue the attack." Suddenly the artillery opened up on the Dysaniian advance. Tanks and mechanized infantry were caught up in the open as Canadian tanks, infantry, and arty fired. Soon after a good thirty minutes, the Dysaniians retreated back to prepare for another attack. They had stopped one advance. "Losses?"

"Colonel we lost four tanks and maybe twenty or so infantry."

"We will continue to hold until after the next assault and then we retreat to the next emplacements." He looked at the battlefield. Smoldering shells of Dysaniian tanks and APCs burned. All he knew was that he made the Dysaniians bleed badly in the first assault. How much would they bleed in the next one.

Quebec City

Alex got off the plane. She walked with a amount of pride and determination. Her nation was at war, but she couldn't stop thinking about Kerr. The Barakarin ex-mercenary she met while she was on an important mission. When she returned home, things looked different. Had I been gone that long? The Canada-Quebecois flag no longer flew above Quebec City. The old Canadian Empire flag was in it's place. Images of the recently deceased Emperor, his wife Empress-now Regent Selene, and young Empress Alia. Things change fast. A balck government car was waiting for her. A man in a captain's Prussian blue uniform was waiting for her. She walked up and she saluted. "Lieutenant Alex Mackienzie here as ordered and awaiting reassignment."

The captain saluted. "I am Captain Moss of the Canadian Army. Come with me, Lieutenant." He opened the door for her and she stepped in. He closed the door and went through the other door. The driver began to drive away. Captain Moss pulled out a folder. "Lieutenant, this is a report of the war that is currently going on in our eastern border. We ordered you back, because the Regent wanted you to crack team of special agents and officers into occupied territory. We want you to do as much damage as you can. Sabatoge, espinage, spy work, the works."

Alex took the folder and looked through it. "Any resistance movements in the area."

"Not yet, but that is what we also want you to do. We want you to launch a partisan effort in that area."

"My team assembled?"

"They are and they are waiting for you."

"Good." As the car drove through the city to their destination, Alex looked out and thought of Kerr. How she just wanted to be near him again. I will see you again, when this war is over.

"We'll arrive in the red area in about fifteen minutes." the driver called into his radio.  He was driving a DPV through the ruins of Kingston, now occupied by Dysanni forces.  Angel, in one of the other DPVs, wasn't sure if she was relieved or distressed that she'd be seeing combat sooner.  She had no love for killing at all, and she definitely didn't need the extra adrenaline, but she was getting that adrenaline from this town anyway.  The whole place reminded her of Ren'allar, of constantly having to keep one eye out, deathly afraid that some stray bullet or piece of shrapnel might kill Ader...

No, she'd be better off in battle.  In battle, she had objectives, something to work towards.  Here, sitting in a DPV looking at the ghostly remains of the city, she could only wait, think about the past, and hope and fear about the future.  Mostly fear.

"Arrival in ten minutes!" the driver called into his radio again.  Slowly, Angel drew towards the front lines.  She was going to Canada.

To look at her, one may find it odd that Angel's eyes, no matter how calm she may appear to be, are constantly wide with either fear or excitement.  Usually they carry the look of being wide with fear, even when she herself is completely calm and confident.  On occasion, however, the look in her eyes matches perfectly what she feels.  Slipping through Canadian lines in the wake of their bleeding retreat amid heavy Dysanni artillery fire is one of those occasions.

The trio of DPVs rocketed through the countryside as artillery shells rained down around them.  The Canadian troops were not entirely certain whether they should be shooting at the trio of DPVs.  They were neither Canadian nor Dysannian, and they seemed to be running from the Dannies just like they were.  And they weren't shooting at the Canadians.

The DPV rocked so far onto its side that it almost tipped over.  The last shell had gotten very close.  No casualties yet, boys...lets keep it that way.  The DPV raced over the terrain, blindingly fast.  If only the thing could maintain such speeds offroad, they wouldn't have to stay in Dysanni artillery range...but there was nothing Angel could do about that.

Just get me on the other side of Canadian lines...get me and my men across alive, Savid, and I'll be home again soon!

The DPVs raced alongside Canadian forces.  An artillery shell landed near the lead DPV and threw its crew, including Angel, to the ground.  Angel lifted her head from the ground and rolled over.  An artillery shell shrieked through the air and hit the ground three feet away from her...and didn't go off.  Angel said a quick prayer of thanks to every ancestor spirit she knew of as she, along with the other two Juggernauts who were in the DPV, got up and ran away from the Dannies' artillery.

"Angel, your DPV is down!" one of the Juggernauts called into his radio.

"I noticed," Angel responded, "Just keep going, we'll catch up to you outside Ottawa!"

The Parliamentary Republic is offering peace terms to the Greater Canadian Empire. Should the Canadian government accept Delegates may be sent to a meeting with Dysanii officials at Béal na mBláth.

Due to new circumstances, we will not accept peace terms until the following is carried out by the Dysaniian government:

1. An unconditional peace on all fronts.
2. The illegitimate government of Dysanii must surrender itself to the Canadian, Valideen, and Delfian forces.
3. All reparations are paid to the Canadian government in full
4. The Dysaniian military is to disarm and prepare to be sent home.

Until the following is met, the Canadian government will not accept peace terms.

In a practical response to your reply;

1. A ceasefire will commence on all fronts.
2. Canadian delegates will confer with representatives of the Parliamentary Republic at Béal na mBláth whilst all 'other' factions within Dysanii are allied with said Republic.
3. The subject of reparations, territory, prisoners of war, detained Canadian civilians, rebuilding projects and military 'issues' will be discussed at the peace meeting.
4. The Dysaniian military and navy will maintain their current positions within Canada at Kingston, Hamilton, the DSA border the Great Lakes and all surrounding land BUT will make no further attempts to advance into Canadian territory WHILST the peace meeting has started.

We anxiously await your reply.

This is most unfortunate. Let the people never forget the opportunity for peace was refused by Canada and her allies.

Let us plea for your sake that you reconsider. We are eager to end the conflict, even if your foriegn 'brothers' are not.

Most dire consequences will follow should you deny our meeting;

The passing of authorized use of biological weapons on Canadian innocents as a viable form of warfare.

The cities of Kingston, Hamilton and Toronto to abandoned where upon they will be demolished and contaminated.

All Canadian civilian prisoners of Toronto, Hamilton, Kingston and the surrounding controlled areas are to be separated and drafted into the Dysanii Army whereby they will die at the hands of Canadians, or Dysaniians.

All Canadian soldiers under detainment will be executed.

Minor nuclear weapons may also be activated with Validus and Delfos as total destinations.

Such is the price Canada will pay for refusal of peace; let the international community also be aware the beginning of peace terms were offered.

Honorable members of the parliament.

In the current conflict we ask that you decline from your intent to use WMD's against civilian targets and that you not employ a "Burnt earth strategy" against Canada.
We offer you a chance to take your peace offer to a neutral organization on neutral ground.
We also ask that you as the aggressor in this war consider the Canadian terms for these peace talks.
If you are willing to gain peace we will assist you and Canada to settle your disputes.
There will however be a investigation in possible war crimes leveled against those responsible.
The IPO will stand for a fair trial.

I hope that you will reconsider your decisions.

This is for the protection of our people, because if Validus nukes the Dysaniians, the fallout will kill Canadians, Americans and many others who don't need to die. But we will not go to a peace conference unless the IPO leads it. And we would like an investigation on war crimes against the Dysaniian government to happen.

The Dysanii government agrees to IPO led peace talks.

However it must outline that its revised version of the Canadian terms be used:

Quote

The Canadian terms are unrealistic. We are not submitting or surrendering as the Canadian terms imply, but merely offering Canada the chance to enter peace talks without further bloodshed.

The Valideen government does not scare the Parliamentary Republic; MAD will ensue should it launch nuclear weapons upon Dysanii.

The Canadian government would rather have peace talks on the neutral ground. IPO has picked out Terranger to be the neutral territory. We will discuss everything at the peace conference.

Imperial Regent Selene was talking with Lord Protector Rommel as the Imperial Regent was heading to the safehouse. "I don't trust them, Rommel. Is there anyway to stop a possible biological or chemical attack?"

Rommel nodded. "Yes, I have had our fleet of YAL-1s put in the air. They are to continue to circle the country, defending the country. They will be able to stop any biological or chemical missile attack and even nucleur attacks. The new ground based lasers will be able protect the nation if the missiles get past the YALs. We are ready for an attack. But what about our allies, won't they want to get revenge on the Dysaniians for dropping nukes by dropping their own on Dysaniians?"

"They will get revenge, but I am trying to find out if they will be able to launch a secondary attack like biological or chemical on communities far from the front lines."

OOC: Sorry? New ground based lasers? And new uniforms? (haven't you JUST issued a standard uniform throughout your army)? And new heavy tanks? I don't mean to be whiny, but where exactly is the money for all this coming from? We have been at war for some time now...o.o

And issuing a new uniform, over a new uniform, doesn't make any sense, economically and military...

As word that the peace conference failed, the Canadian army prepared for more attacks by the Dysaniian forces. Luckily, the Dysaniians had finally gained little ground from the Canadian defensive positions and with the peace conference, they could finally use the defensive positions they had made while the cease-fire was in effect. The first thing that Rommel did was launch a large bombing operation on the Dysaniian lines all across Canada, but they didn't drop bombs. They dropped thousands of pamphlets, instead. The same pamphlets were also being used all across the country to increase recruitment.

The fleet of convoy ships slowly approached the Canadian water with large amount of escorts. The lead vessel that took point was I.F.C. Kalimdor, one of Empire's Retribution class heavy assault ship.

"Admiral! we are approaching Canadian waters, what is you command ma'am?" asked the Coxswain of the ship.

"Realy to the fleet fulll stop, all battle capable vessel into the escort position, these waters are dangerous these days. We will stop after advancing 500m from the fleet. Then get me the Canadian Fleet Command. This is basically our first contact with the Canadians so you know the drill." answered the Admiral Castell.

"And while at it, lets get a roll call from the ships, all battle capable vessels, roll calls" said the Admiral.

"I.F.C. Nautilus, ready for action!"
"I.F.C. Providence, ready for action!"
"I.F.C. Hardcell, ready for action!"
"I.F.C. Loyalty, ready for action!"
"I.F.C. Dominator, ready for action!"
"I.F.C. Vindicator, ready for action!"
"I.F.C. Nova, ready for action!"
"I.F.C. Honorable, ready for action!"
"I.F.C. Duty for the Empire, The Flag Ship ready for action, all 10 ships ready and reporting for duty ma'am!"

"Excellent, now we wait for the Canadian response from their fleet command." said the Admiral Castell

(It is the Geradin Empire's tradition to name the flag ships more than 2 words. plus most of these ships here are different class ship.)  -Canadian plz repsond to this and plz don't tell me i'm not allowed...

Prime Minister Osafune III and War Minister Miltiades IX remain at the Delfingrado defense council.

Osafune III had left Deputy Prime Minister Argos VI and I orders to deploy our forces to Canada should the peace talks break down. It appears they have after the Dysanii delegation walked out, so we’ve made the decision to begin the deployment. All 6,000 of our soldiers in New Delfos intended for Operation Winter Shield are to set a course for Anchorage.

As far as we know, the cease fire is still in effect. You will remain in Anchorage until further orders are given.

Should hostilities break out again, we will assist the Valideen and Delfian forces in the eastern front. We hope to arrange escorts from Varkour, New Delfos, and/or Validus once we begin to make the voyage there. Until then, two frigates, one Horizon class and one Krivak class, and two Kara class cruisers will be your only escorts.

Necessary vehicles and equipment will be airlifted into Canada.

You will be in command of all CAF forces on the continent.

<ooc>I might add some more to this.

Oh and Canada, do you have a better place for me to send my guys? And btw, I thought Quebec may be a little provocative, so I went with Anchorage instead.</ooc>

Hudson didn't feel right in his new rank, but as the new Admiral of the Fleet, it was his job to lead the Canadian Navy. He spoke. "Dysaniian?"

Admiral Hudson nodded. "Alright, hail them."

Our convoy has sailed down from the north to supply your nation and her allies with medical supplies, weapons, equipments and tanks. Our current destination is not setted and will dock at the port you wish for us to dock." answered the Admiral Castell back at them.

And apparently our war against Obsidian Order, we are losing.. We have fended them off for now, but they will be coming back soon. Plus this has been going for what now.. a month? Anyways, back to my rping)

The Admiral Castell contiued on " Even though we do not have setted destination, our current temporary heading is toward the Halifax harbor. It is some what far from the front line and is able to get across the supplies faster. If you did not know, General Leman announced Geradin Empire's aid to the Canandians in the international news not too long ago. So what is your answer going to be? Are we going to be allowed in your waters? or do we have to turn back?"

"coxswain, put everyone on the stand by and ready for battle, just in case if Canadians are to engage with us, or Dysanii show up." Castell whispered silently into his ears.

"Aye ma'am." answered back the coxswain.
