OOC: CC, it would help if you had a spot on the map first, unless another nation would like to host?

OOC: Tagiristan, if it's a world cup, it's probably what Americans call "soccer."  In other words, real football.  American football should be called "yardball."

OOC:  That is a good point G-C.  I hate how america has to be diffrent and use different words than the rest of the world.

IC: King Tarih al-Rashid will hold the tournament in our capital Tagshknet if constant confusion wishes to.

Yardball is good name. Better than crappy old "American football". And I don't see why we can't switch to metric, spell correctly (i.e. British), and use Celcius like the rest of the English-speaking world.

Amen! why do Americans feel they have to be so diffrent?  it is retarded

Erm....because we are different? I prefer my favorite sport to be called 'stompshitball' instead of football. Much more badass.

Agreed, Ryaz. But more like 'kickassball'.

Gallipoli-China is interested in participating in this World Cup.  Expect our team to arrive when you have announced the tournament's location, and where the teams will be staying.

Known to be the Taijitu's most violent soccer team, these Ozians are taught to play rough and to do whatever means necessary to defeat the other team. These Ozians run in the snow and ice, practice drill over and over again, and compete against each other for desert everyday in a boxing match. Ozia holds the all time record for most players kicked out in one game, the whole team but the goalie.

LOL!

Well they will forfeit the game if they get 5 players sent off, and I think the ref would have a word with them if they played too rough ;)

They probably beat the refs. To death.

the uichi ryan uniforms are black with splashes of yellow and white. they are known for their smoking while playing. they are taught to have fun with the game and this often leads to interesting antics such as pantsing the opposing teams goaly and putting makeup on the ref. they are a team of all females nad often use techniques such as flashing the opposition for distraction.

I request that all corporate logos be covered with something when my team is on the field.  This includes logos on the uniforms.

An honest question:

With talks of socialism classes at American colleges, does Gallipoli-China allow capitalist literature and classes or do they consider those who learn it a threat and don't let them read and learn about capitalism?

And I think...everything PUR's team does is, I don't know, against the rules? Maybe?

Socialism classes at American colleges!?!?  Now that's something I never expected to see.  Link, please?

And the honest answer is yes.  Economics, history, philosophy, and government classes all have sections dealing with capitalist literature.  Especially philosophy classes; Smith and Ricardo (or whatever their Taijitan names are) are on the syllabus, as is Locke.  However, there is bias towards socialism and against capitalism, just as there is a bias towards capitalism and against socialism at American, and I'm guessing Myrorian, universities.  How the literature is received, I cannot tell you.  I have not yet conducted polls of the student body :P

Don't you guys remember what happened last time we tried to introduce sport in Taijitu???

But I am willing to put up a team for this world cup.....

As long I can be assured it will not become another bloodbath....

Here's what we need. 16 or 32 nations, 4/8 pools of 4. A big enough nation to hold the WC (Many stadiums, simultaneous games... You see the picture.)

Continental qualifications would be doable, "Rep by pop" is, again, doable. We would have to use the map and the continental limitations to do that.

OOC : My mind is flourishing with ideas, just let me think of them, and a way to present them to you guys. Also, Daimiaen, what did happen last time you put sports in Taijitu?

Wow, you guys take sports waaaay too seriously!  ;)

Anyways, I'm still thinking of a way to simulate games, but I think I have one. All I'd need is cooperation of all people who wish to participate.

But Takasian team need sponsors to maintain the team. There is simply no government funds spent on any kind of sports.
Also, we encourage local company sponsorship as a means to gain publicity.
