It was a cloudy day on the Union of Free Men side of the border. Here a Saletsian minority lived. UFM took the land at a time Saletsia was in a state of civil war and could not launch any reconquests.
On this side of the border though, Saletsian felt treated unfairly. Political killings, murder, theft, drug-dealing were common....common until a Saletsian Rodrigo Ramirez founded the militant group called the Saletsian Unionist Force with the goal of fighting for freedom, freedom from UFM - a Saletsian freedom.
"General, our troops are ready."
"Are you sure?" asked Rodrigo.
"yes sir, they have had 7 months of training now."
"Do we have RPGs yet?"
"We could buy some in the black market."
"Good, let us proceed with operation Firestorm."
All the armed men then followed their commander

They hid behind trees alongside a UFM highway where a convoy of a government money transport was passing. Then... BOOM! The humvee in front of the transporter exploded, hit by an RPG.
"Kill the bastards!"
Suddenly the concealed SUF troopers opened fire at the convoy killing the UFM soldiers and guards running out of their vehicles. After 15 minutes of intense fighting, All UFM men were killed and the money taken.
"That is what they get for denying us freedom."

"To Arms, to arms!!!" Came the shout over the tannoy as member of the Union Light infantry sprung into action from there depot.
Field Marshall Sebastian had been making love to his wife when the call to arms had shot its way along the union lines of communication.
"Sir, their forces have crossed the border, they believe us to be inactive!" Called Colonel Williams, the head of Military intelligence as the field marshal stepped down to his staff car, buttoning his shirt. "Wake the prime minister, and get the army mobalised, i want those men who violated our territory in the ground before day-break!" He called stepping into the back of the car. "you tell the ULI to get there asap, they are not to yield a single yard of ground, get the channel to our allies open, and get a link to the Regional authority, this will not stand!" As he spoke, a flight of Tornadoes shot over head, heading for the incursion zone. "Evacuate the Area of civilians. We will use any method we need to defend ourselves. Make sure the bastards know that!"

At the Loyalist Defense Intelligence headquarter, reports from undercover operatives were flooding in.
"We have intelligence report of citizens taking arm actions against the Union government. They appear to be of Saletsian ethnicity."
Secretary Yulin skims through the files while sipping on jasmine tea. "Minority unrest...this could turn into something big, we wouldn't want that."
"What should we do Madam?"
"Keep the reports coming, but for now, we're leaving this to the local government. I'm sure they will keep this under control."

the journey up had been hard "sir reports arriving, its not an invasion, they seem to be insurgents!"
"You mean you woke me up for a bunch of farmers with pitchforks!"
"sir, they are well equipped, they knocked out a patrol from the Zion guard!"
"Well, we'll see this through, i want these terrorists hanging from the Streets of the parliament building by noon... do you understand?"
"Yes sir, shall we continue our protest to the Region?"
"No, this is internal, we'll sort this one out ourselves!"

"General Ramirez! They mobilized their army!"
"Hear, hear, I told you they want to annihilate us...Ready the men!"
"Yes sir!"
"And mine the routes to the border and the forest! I want them to die!"
"As you wish!"
About 250 SUF combatants scrambled planting mines on the routes to their hide-outs.
Other combatants worked on a tunnel system and trenches.

Captain Latham had received the order to advance two minutes prior over the battlenet, and in that time he'd had his men fix bayonets and now the Union light infantry (the cream of the Union army) were moving across the grass towards the border. "Sir, Enemy front!!!" Came a shout from his number two on the left, and the line went to ground, suddenly a burst of gun-fire sprung from the front and they realized they had been spotted. "Number one platoon provided cover, two and three platoons prepare to move!" He called into his headset. "MOVE!!!" he shouted, and up they got, the bullets pinging over their heads, one man from three platoon was stopped in his tracks by a well placed shot, then another this time from two platoon dropped, suddenly it seemed like the whole company was falling. "DOWN!!!" he called and they dropped and started covering number one platoon, who shot past over-head, suddenly a large explosion on the left, sin galled the end of three men as one stepped on a mine, then another explosion on the right announced the same, mines or no mines, they were dying here... they had to get forward

Unionists saw the advancing soldiers.
"Damn give me the radio!"
Another unionist hurried carrying a mobile radio.
"General Ramirez! Come in!"
"Ramirez here...am I hearing gun shots?"
"Yes sir, they are here!"
"SO fast?"
"Yes sir, I have no idea how but they're here."
"Stop them, I will evacuate this camp and we will meet in position 164."
"Aye sir, we will use the mortars and RPGs."
"Stop them, I don't care how."
The remaining unionists tried hard to fend off the advancing soldiers, usinf RPGs, mortars and grenades. Some even attacking with a belt holding a C4 bomb in an attempt to kill as many as possible.

"Incoming!" Latham heard as he crawled forward trying to get another magazine into his SLR "Sir, if we stay here we're fucking dead!" The mortar landed close and he saw Sergeant Andres fly into the air minus his right arm. "Your right, get on battlenet, we havent got time, just charge, get into their ranks, and they wont be able to use their their explosives!" And he stood, and charged forward into the mess, with that single command he'd saved a large proportion of his men, and for that they were eternally grateful, but he knew nothing of it, for a bullet had already struck him down.

The mortar shells and RPG rounds where going sort.
"Captain, we're losing the big ones!"
"Then use the bloody guns! What do you think you have them for?!"
"Yes Capt.!"
While the last rounds of RPGs were fired, the few combatants started firing their machine-guns.
"Bloody hell, shoot!", shouted a combatant to his right man, whose body got hit multiple times by UFM bullets.
"You bastards!", he pulled a grenade and ran towards the enemy...he got shot down even befor reaching them and made his grenade fall killing another two of his comrades in arms.
The flag of the SUF was tied around their left arms:

"Fight to the last man!", cried the Captain before a bullet hit him in the head.

To his horror, Colour Sergeant O'leary realized he was the the most senior man on the field. There was sporadic firing, but the firefight had finished, they were on the enemy position, he tried to catch his breath, and then noticed he';s snapped his bayonet in the chest of one of the insurgents, he laughed gently, as battlenet crackled into action. "Papa one, requesting sitrep!" It said. He pressed the PTT on the barrel of his SLR. "This is O'leary, taking command, set up all round defense, i want casualties out of here within the hour, get some bodies searchers in, lets find out where these bastards came from!" He stood for the first time since the action started, he was a hardened man, decorated during the the recent wars serving the UASS, he knew his job, and once again he's done it well. "Colour, you should see this!" Corporal Bradley said calling over. When he got there Bradley was holding an arm-band. "It says Salestia, colour, you think these are regulars?" He said studying the bloodstained armband. "Not our place to find out, get those prisoners back to the intelligence corps boys, and start getting your wounded guys out... oh and tell your troops to stay alert, this might just be the start!"
Slowly the prisoners were lead away for interrogation.

The fighters of battlegroup Alpha either got killed or imprisoned.
General Ramirez though managed to move with his group. Another group was assigned to take another route and launch the next attack. Some incognito SUF fighters went into towns along the border to buy cars and food. While smaller villages of people of Saletsian decent offered help to the SUF combatants.
Some fighters hid up high on coconut trees ready to take out any soldier crossing their way.

The first soldier was pulled into the interrogation room, for 6 hours he'd been kneeling in a stress position, white noise pummeling through his ears, his muscles ached, and he was devastated at the loss of his comrades...
No one had spoken to him since his capture, and he was frightened, but now someone spoke, and to his horror it frightened him more.
"Why are you here?" The chilling voice called from behind him. He didnt respond, and was rewarded with a punch in the side of the head. "You were caught in UFM territory, and you fight for no legal army, under the regional terrorism laws, you are classified as a terrorist and not a soldier, you are liable for Execution, so i suggest you start co-operating, unless you want to be hanging from a post outside the parliament building!" another thump on the head.
Slowly he started to speak...

The prisoner was weak..very weak..he did not even lift up his head to talk:
"This is ooouur...laaannd......you STOLE IT!" He weakened even more after shouting.
"You caan kill me.....but myy broothherrs will figghtt..."

"That is an interesting request, one which I'd personally enjoy fulfilling. However we're not going to kill you yet, we're going to send you down the line, there are some horrible bastards up there, and when you meet them you'll wish to the lord above that you'd have died slowly under a union bayonet on that bloody field." He smacked him with the butt of his rifle and the man fell down.
"Your Grace, many apologies for waking you!" Field Marshall Sebastian said
"Not an issue Alan, just tell me whats happening!" Prime minister Hendrix said, yawning.
"It appears that a group of insurgents have made a raid into our territory sir, we're not sure just how many, but early indications are that we have fought them off!" The Prime minister rubbed his eyes.
"Where are they from?" He asked.
"We believe they are Saletsia. As you remember we occupied the land to secure our border during their civil war."
"Ahh yes, and the bastards have been nothing but trouble since!"
"Well sir, i don't think these guys were from the actual confiscation zone, i think they were from within Saletsia itself."
"Ok, get me the number one of Saletsia, I want his assurance this is not an invasion. Any word from the Loyalist state?"
"Not yet sir, we have not made contact"
"Ok, let them know the situation, and tell them to watch their borders."
The TV screen lept into life as Hendrix prepared to address the leader of Saletsia.
"Good morning sir, my apologies for waking you so early..."

Announcement from the Loyalist Foreign Ministry
The southeast border of the PRL which connects with the TUFM, is hereby close to all non-Loyalist visitors of our country. This ban will be held in place for a indefinite time, until the current regional situation calms. All non-Loyalist visitors that violate this ban will be detain and deported.

As Prime Minister Ariel levana was currently in Mor'os, the Empress herself talked with Prime Minister Hendrix:
"I believe, I know what you would like to know and my answer is no. No Saletsian regulars have crossed the border. We are not risking a war at the moment. As for the motivation of the group in your country, they believe it is their rightful land - a belief based on the history of Saletsia. And these fighters are not insurgents, they have been living in the region for several decades already and belong to an ethnic minority in Saletsia."

But this situation will not stand, i put to you a suggestion, these people want annexation of the their region, We will not be bullied by our own people, or better put, people who do not share the same loyalties. As you say these people are not insurgents, then they are citizens of the union, and therefore traitors. They will all be hanging at dawn in front of this very building, we will surrender to no enemy, whether he is foreign or from our very own union. You have the power your majesty, to save these men who claim loyalty to you. At your request i am prepared to send themselves, and indeed there families, over the border, to officially become naturalised citizens of Saletsia. These men have murdered and killed soldiers of the Union, and i am extending an extreme act of favour in offering you this...

"I will open the borders for them to pass through and be part of the Empire if they wish. Though I cannot guarantee to you that they will follow my suggestion.
On a side not, I would like to inquire on the fate of the Saletsian railways going through your land since we are no longer member of the UASS?"

"Those men who do not wish to cross the border will be hung, it is your decision. As for the railways, It is something that must be discussed at great lengths, the security of our nation as you can imagine is paramount, and with tensions of the region being as high as as they are, a long term plan must be ironed out. As for now, commercial traffic through the union will be accepted, however at border entry and exit points your trains will be throughly searched and While they cross our territory they will be escorted. Is this okay with you?"
Hendrix tried hard to hide his anger, the empress was showing no thought to what had just happened on the border, and was merely brushing it away.

"It is totally fine with us. Going back to the clashes today...I can only tell them to go to Saletsia, I cannot force them. It is solely their decision to either follow or not. Anyways I will send leaflets with my signature on it to your government...They may air-drop them in the areas where the Unionists operate."

"they will be told of their choice, those who refuse will hang. There is no need to air-drop the leaflets, i request you make a brief video message we will play for them. But it can wait for the morning your highness. As stated earlier, i apologise for the early hour of the call, and wish you a pleasant day."

"Very well, Prime Minister. I wish you a good day."
The connection was ended and then the Empress went to the video conference room.
"Good morning, unionist Saletsians. We have heard of the struggle of our brothers and sisters in the Union of Free Men. As much as we understand your actions, we have to call for a halt to the fighting. We - in cooperation with the UFM - offer you free passage and citizenship in the Empire. You will be given time until tomorrow. After the deadline UFM forces will launch a massive attack. I call for you to come back home."
The transmission ended and the Empress went back to her room to have some rest.

In the SUF camp where the unionists just finished watching the transmission:
"General, she wants us to go to Saletsia..."
"I know!"
"Are we going to follow?"
General Ramirez did not answer.
"General? Are we going to retreat?"
The general stood up: "All civilians should go to the Empire!"
"Yes sir...but what about us?"
"We started to fight for freedom and now we should just go to Saletsia and leave our home?! Are you for this?" he asked his men.
"Nooo!" They all shouted.
"Fine, let us fight and die as Saletsians on our land!"
"Hip hip...Hurrah!"
Several minutes later, convoy after convoy of Saletsian-decent civilians crossed the heavily guarded border. Imperial Saletsian soldiers helped the refugees right away and brought them to field lazarettes for medical check-ups.
Meanwhile General Rodrigo Ramirez and his last men started making more booby traps and fortifications. The last mines were planted and even old bazookas were distributed to his conbatants.
"Tomorrow men, we will die!"

The morning sight that greeted citizens of Armford was not a stomach warming one. Hanging high from the 12 posts that line Trade Street, the main thoroughfare that led to the parliament were the prisoners who'd refused deportment back to Saletsia. It was evident that they'd been beaten, probably to try and convince them that leaving would be the best option, but to no avail, these men were committed, and more they were not scared. The flurry of activity during the night had failed even to make the newspapers, probably due to the censorship that had come about since the recent UASS wars. Rumour of a full-scale invasion was already rife around the cabinet, although officially Saletsia had denounced the terrorist actions, it was widely believed they were un-officially suportative, and possibly even supplying them.
Meanwhile...
On the grassy hills of the Gordon Plains 12 Squadron, 2nd Union Tank Regiment waited in their Challenger 2, battle tanks. Engines off, and stiffly waiting in the cold, Lieutenant Chandler felt euphoric as the smells of the freshly crushed grass, and morning dew ran up his nostrils. "Sir?" His number two called up handing him a mug of Tea. Thanking him he warmed his hands. "What time are we going?" He asked.
"Zero hour is at 0900, if there not gone by then we move in. Expect no Quarter lads, for we offer none in return!" He recited from an old union poem of the Reclamation a few years previous. Pacey, his number too looked down at his controls, he was tired, very tired. They had been Garrisoned at White hart, and had moved in the early hours, just as the Infantry had been mopping up. They were over-due leave, and well deserving of a rest, the squadron had suffered during the UASS wars, had lost its previous CO, and alot of its vehicles, but you can replace vehicles, it is harder to replace faces. "Whats the time Pacey?" Chandler asked.
"0810 sir, if they're gonna move, they better do it soon!" He said.
"Your right... I hope they do."

Around the new SUF camp the combatants had dug themselves in, some hiding in trenches others up above trees.
"Reynaldo! Come here!"
A rather young combatant hurried to General Ramirez as he heard his name called.
"Yes sir?"
"I want you to distribute these babies to our men," Ramirez said while pointing at a number of wooden boxes.
"What are those?"
"RPG-29, they will guarantee our safety against armored units."
"RPG-29?! Since when did we have those???"
"I am a rich man, Reynaldo. And not planning to die yet..."
"And where did you buy them?"
"Let's say, we have some friends in other countries..."
"I see. Well I better be distributing them."
"That's right, my boy."
Reynaldo called some other combatants to help him distribute the anti-tank weapons.
Meanwhile locally assembled rockets were being assembled.
This will be some fun...not arrows will darken the skies but rockets full of rusty nails.
The entire group divided themselves into two main battle groups: Beta and Gamma since Alpha had been exterminated.
Furthermore a third group of foreign mercenaries and bandits had been made and paid well. They were to ambush UFM advancing forces and then return to the base and regroup with battle group Beta.

The engine roared into life and the Challengers started rolling forward. Chandler checked his watch 0915, he'd personally given them 15 minuted grace, If they hadn't moved by now then it was too late. "Keep the line, hatch down at first contact, they had RPG's this morning, they wont damage your wagons, but if your turned out they'll ruin you!" He called over the squadron intercom. In all honesty he expected no one ahead of him, anyone with any sense would of got out. Suddenly there was a boom, so loud it shook the tea that now lay in his stomach. A tank from red section had rolled over an AT mine, and was now a charred hole. "Jesus, mike four just bought it!" Came over the intercom.
"Shut the fuck up and pay attention! keep your head!" He called back angered. Suddenly Blue three was hit by an RPG, it made no structural damage, but the hatches were up, and it had made a butchers slab of the driver and commander, the gunner was severely wounded, and the intercom was locked onto his channel, listening to him scream as he was slowly roasted alive was enough to drive most men insane, but chandlers signalman was experienced, and he quickly locked out the frequency. Another Boom, this time two Tanks from Green section disappeared. "Fuck this!" he said "Pete, get us into them double time!" he shouted and the vehicle lurched forward towards there ranks...

"Tanks incoming!"
"Tanks incoming! Fire rockets!"
All of the sudden a salvo of rockets were fired. They're target was the approaching tank column. Knowing the weakest point of a tank's armor was the top of the turret, they hoped for some lucky hits. While other rockets filled with nails ought to kill infanterists.
"Sir, they're still charging!"
"Ready the RPG-29! That should knock them out. And fire those bloody mortars!"
"Aye sir!"
While Battle group Beta was defending itself, Gamma turned moved further South, waiting for the tank column be trapped between the two battlegroups.
Meanwhile the small band of mercenaries left their hiding places and charged some tanks from the side throwing molotov cocktails, grenades and some firing their older ROG-7s at the tracks hoping they'd make the tanks unmaneuverable. Fighting was intense. Snipers up on trees shot at every UFM soldier that dared look out of the protected turrrets.
Meanwhile in the camp General Ramirez was planning a retreat to another location to regroup after being inactive for sometime. He was also already thinking of crossing the border to Saletsia.

OOC: RPGs wouldnt dent a tank, a little tip, a tanks weakest point is its arse.
There was a thud as a mortar landed under the lead vehicle, a lucky shot, normally Chandler would of felt safe against any type of mortar, but it'd been a lucky shot, and something was on fire. "Engine fire sir, i can fucking reach it!" came a shout from below.
"Get the fuck out, evac, evac, evac!" Chandler screamed and pulled off his harness, he was angry, most of his tank squadron was wiped out from the mines, and the surprise and luck of ambush. He scrambled to the escape hatch, Pacey was ahead, and he let him go first, knowing his men should get out first, he grabbed his sterling SMG, knowing that a fight was going to happen outside. The door open and pacey jumped onto the scorched grass, he followed and they both dashed for cover. They were only feet away from the tank when pacey dropped from a sniper bullet. But Chandler made it to cover, a drainage ditch.
He dived in... just as a flight of PAF tonrnados engulfed the area with 500lb bombs. Suddenly an arm grabbed his webbing and pulled him back. "You alright sir?" Came the welcomed voice.
"Who are you?" He asked.
"Private Leeson, 3rd Light infantry, we've been pinned down out here since this morning, were glad to see you guys until you got fucking chewed up!" He said.
"What happens next?" Asked Chandler
"Dont fucking know, The Air force just whacked the shit out of them, dont know if anyone could of survived that!"

OOC: RPG 29 is designed to even rip through ERA

Most of the combatants died in the bombing of their positions. Luckily Gen. Ramirez and 8 of his comrades managed to survive...though 4 of them were severely injured.
The remaining 8 combatants moved into the forest and hoped to reach the border fast enough.
On the long march to the border, two of the severely injured passed away.
UFM would not have to fear any attacks in the near future.

ooc: Weakest spot for blowing might be the arse, but the easiest way to neutralize a tank is to hit the wheels' front/back

"There gone sir, Reports are that the border is secure!" Said the minister of defence.
"Ahh, best news ive had all morning. An armistice, hospitalize the enemy wounded, and when there healthy, send them to Saletsia. Keep the army on a war footing, im not entirely sure this is over yet." Hendrix said, not getting up from his desk. "Lets address the union, tell them they are safe again. Send a telegram to the Empress of Saletsia thanking her for her co-operation. Lets put this mess behind us." He said.

Secret Telegram Wired to Distant Embassy...
phone call:
NDRA Lt. General: "Got scared in the morning, i thought I was seeing ghosts on my right side when i looked to the sun. But why am i worrying in Saletsia? As soon I'm done here I'll be in big boat home."
Operator: "The Islands have a good doctor if you are so distressed. Take care Lt. General."
"You too."
Inside an Airbus 320 of Delfo-Airlines, Captain Paredes walked through the civilians, trying not to awake them. This was a long journey from Mary Jane Islands to New Delfos. The Capt. reached the cockpit and said to the pilot, "Proceed with caution."
Pilot: "Loyalist ATC, changing frequency to UFM ATC, over."
L-ATC: "Roger, take care."
Pilot: "UFM ATC, this is TAD8 Delfo Airlines, type is A320, route to Easbury for refuel."
UFM ATC: "A320 Delfo Airlines, this is UFM ATC, welcome to UFM, civilian airspace route granted."
Pilot: "UFM ATC, This is A320 TAD, we have poor visibility, we will perform a maneuver to re-adjust our route."
Capt. Paredes ran back to the access for the cargo hold.
"Listen, INFIL in 2min. Get into your suits. Remember, you do not exist, here's your way out." Giving them suicidal pills.
The passengers got a bit scared when the plane started to descend, then really scared they they descended more.
On the sufficient alt, and near the Saletsian border, the troops fell from the sky, their thermal suits were designed with 'sky' camouflage. Shortly before impact, the troops opened their parachutes. They moved quickly for the location of Ramirez, avoiding being seen at all costs. But they encountered some patrol unit...quietly moving around, the troops were almost gone when they got spotted.
UFM trooper: "Hey you! You are not..!" a silent shot silenced him. other troopers came to see what happened, they saw their compatriot's body on the floor spilling blood and pointing to the forest.
"More Saletsian?! Fucking pricks!", the crossfire was intense, the non-silent troopers fired their bullpup carbines at the UFM troops.
"Call reinforcements, this guys are good!"
UFM followed the troopers into the forest, but the tracks got mixed and they lost them. But they did found 2 things, Kalashnikov bullets and one of the troopers was loosing blood, but the track of blood stopped somewhere. When reinforcements arrived they started to pursue this mystery troopers. They found the blood again.
Ramirez got spotted, not knowing what kind of troopers were they, they seemed heavily trained and armed.
"We're here to take you to Saletsia. Follow us."
"What about your boy, he's loosing blood."
"He needs to get to a Saletsian Hospital."
Satellite code transmission by one of the mystery troops: OMEGA FANTASMA EXFIL
and a phone call: "Saletsian General? The package is ready for exfil."
"Oh...right, I'm sending a chopper."
OOC:sorry to RP your troops UFM, this happens in very short period of time, i had to lead the action, now whoever you want to pursue this mystery troopers is welcome. Your troops may reach our rescuers of Ramirez before the chopper arrives, even kill troopers, but this exfil mission will be success. Saletsia, i hope you bring some armed chopper.

After several minutes, four unmarked helicopters crossed the border. Two MD520 light attack choppers with rocket pod and gatling gun and two UH-1N twin Huey armed helicopters. They were sent to fetch the unknown resucers and the SUF combatants.
"Sir, I think that's them down there."
"Okay ready for landing."
The two transport helos landed and waited for the combatants to hop in while the other choppers hovered above them ready to strike any hostile forces.

After 3 minutes the choppers headed back for Saletsia.

The troopers took their cloths and armament out into bags, took a shower and dressed Saletsian fashion cloths, then escorted the Lt. General to the NDAF plane, the ride home.

Saletsian military personnel took care of the wounded soldiers and combatants. Gen. Ramirez and his men were given Saletsian IDs and citizenship.

I can assure you that we only have positive plans in the near future regarding our nation and the region. However, we mistrust all nations that may be close to Ozians that have attacked us. This is not an omen but a normal reaction to possible aggressors.

After diploma failed and fears of a possible invasion by an Ozian-CL-UFM coalition, Chancellor Ariel Levana decided to support the Saletsian Unionist Force giving General Rodrigo Ramirez the necessary finances and equipment to rebuild his militia.
After some time of preparation the SUF counted 30 000 new combatants under the command of Gen. Ramirez and the supervision of the Saletsian Government.
