Proposal to Iseltov
« on: September 08, 2007, 05:00:04 AM »
Tokuda Hideki stood before Mr. Iseltov and his daughter inside Mt. Ijek, they had just arrived amidst a series of car bombings in nearby Laen'ka. The place was always quite troublesome, but Mr. Iseltov was always a good Ozian, ready to serve his Empire. Hideki passed the elderly scientist a red folder titled "Project Ikari". He bowed politely before speaking, "Iseltov-san, the esteemed Emperor has requested your skills, perhaps you could assist the Shining Empire?"

Mr. Iseltov, the Emperor has requested your services in providing tactical and analytical support for Military Advanced Weapons Programme (MAWP) in the development of a new weapon which will be placed within the IXN Arsenal. We find ourselves requiring insight into the development and augmentation of several of our vessels. The goal is simple, we require a vessel capable of bombarding coastal and possibly inland positions greater than most conventional artillery platforms at present. We have within the IXN several relics from wars long past whose weapons are more than suitable for this task, however we request your guidance into the modernization and specialization of these weapons specifically for this role. Please take a look at the following pictures and consider the possibilities, and remember that anti-ship, sub, and air warfare are negligible.

Sincerely,
Commodore Okita Kurou
IXN MAWP Liaison

Iseltov had heavily sighed for the first time to his daughter, workers, and everyone present. He was also disgruntled at the fact at being called "Mr. Iseltov", he had always preferred Dire, even though it was an Ozian title. No way would he be able to remake this Battleship, he was too old for this job and and inner feeling just kept him from doing it. He turned, looking at his daugther, her gleaming purple eyes looking back at him and then she nodded respectively to him.

He slowly responded to him in Xyraeli, "Perhaps, my Daughter, Sevda could lead this project. For I am old and not ambitious, you need new minds, new thoughts in order to produce modern things. I can not help you but, I believe it is time that Sevda head this project. What do you think?"

"I understand, Iseltov-san." Hideki turned to face the man's daughter with a smiler, his eyes shutting to hide his blue iris's as he bowed again. "Sevda-san perhaps you have any ideas. Great minds think alike, I hear, and surely you have inherited your honourable fathers mind." He took the red folder and handed it to her, "as you can see, there is more than ample deck space, and if it could be automated there'd be more room below deck for electronics and such. We don't need any anti-ship capacity, just land attack. Can you be of assistance?"

She nervously nodded to the Xyraeli man, "I will do my best, and yes, a team would be nice," she turned to her father responding still in Xyraeli, "Can you spare some Nuclear Technicians, experts, and engineers? I also might need a representative from the Biological/chemical department. Oh yeah and just a few Engineers that you can find."

Her fathers turned to her and said, "I, they would be delighted to help you. I will send them memos right now.." He walked off to his office and summoned from a list of employees, distinguished but not the best engineers at the research base. She would receive 10 High Drafting Engineers, 3 Nuclear Technicians, and a Weapons expert.

Tokuda Hideki shifted through his pockets until he pulled out a notepad, looking at the Ozian woman eagerly. "Anything you require is yours," he smiled before jotting up a quick list of what was necessary. "Also, here is a basic outline of what is required.

  • Automated Systems
  • Anti-missile defense systems
  • Modernized radar
  • Missile countermeasures
  • Replacement of outdated flight deck
  • Addition of land-attack capabilities

"...and here is a list of weapons available to you."

Rolling Airframe Missile
VLS
PJ-10 BrahMos
AK-630 CIWS
Tomahawk cruise missile for VLS if used.
AN/SPY-1 radar
Anti-missile countermeasures
AN/SLQ-25 torpedo defense
SLQ-32 Electronic Warfare
Anything else you can think of.

Hanari Katsuro looked at Sevda in a funny way, it was as if he'd never seen an Ozian before. He examined the red patterns on her hijab. The man also glanced at her eyes time to time, not looking at her but mainly looking at her eyes and how different they were. They sat in seats across from each other on the private jet. After they finally got in the air after a never ending sandstorm, the attendant asked the both what they would like to eat and drink. Sevda ate what was customary and simply said in Xyraeli, "A Water of Life (Zuavka-Vodka Mix) and plain Zuavka." However Hanari was preoccupied at looking out the window at the Ozian desert. Sevda was just about to throw the man off the plane before they reached the La'sava airport. She was lucky though, she got to also take a ferry boat, car ride to the research base. She didn't understand why he was coming along but she wondered if he was the Xyraeli Scientist who also got commisioned like her father did. She then wondered if it wasn't more that she was Ozian but maybe he was expecting her father.

The woman tapped him on the shoulder and he quickly turned to her with a slight jump, he asked "Do you have tea?" she nodded, "thank you" he simply said.

When the attendant left Sevda looked at him and remembered what her father said about this before she left, Remember, you can meet new men on this trip, make me proud!. She startled and choked on her Zuavka. When she gained her breath again she noticed the man was looking right at her. She however didn't care, he was a bit odd anyway. He then asked him, "What's your main line of study?"

Right after she said that the captain of the plane said over the com "30 minutes until La'sava.

"Well, um.." the man stuttered a bit as a thousand thoughts raced through his mind, his eyes sparkled to life as his interest was piqued. "Mostly, um well history truthfully, but I also specialized in weaponry and um..." he stared at her absently for a moment while lost in thought gazing into her eyes. What a strange shade of purple, "...genetics. Where do you Ozians get your eye color? Your eyes are so lively." He froze up suddenly as he spoke, his eyes quickly shifting back out the window as a flight attendant brough him a bit of tea, which he quickly hid himself behind. Oh my, he thought to himself, his eyes inquisitively examining her robe while he pretended to stare at a phone on the other side of the room.

"Um... well... so La'sava... exactly what kind of research facility is this?"

Is he looking at my body? Sevda had a disgusted look on her face looking at him. she replied back anyway, "Well ... one question at a time. Thank you for your comment and I do not kow why our eyes are purple or maroon... I've studied a little genetics and I do believe the eyes are a dominant trait because I am a G... Laen'kanese-Ozian. Wait... I hope he didn't think I'd refer to Gallipoli as a people. She had no idea what the Xyraelis called the people. She then noticed his eyes which wandered the plane constantly and she continued, "La'sava isn't where the research facility is. It's a city with the only airport around the research facility. We have to take a ferry across the water to get to the research facility which isn't really a research facility but more a port that's close to an engineering community, the Biological weapons base, and another base that I do not know much about..."

Laen'kanese? he grinned, she probably meant Gelibolu... oh well. "Oh, biological weapons! How fun, I'd love to see what's been developed there... if, of course, I'd be allowed." Katsuro finished his tea and looked up to the air vent blowing on his face, twisting the knob to tighten it. "What do you specialize in, Iseltov-san?" he spoke without looking, his eyes observing the water below, they must be close to the island.

The intercom announced that the plane was on its final approach, probably just 5 minutes away. Katsuro studied the woman a bit more while trying not to make it apparent, his stomach rumbled a little bit. He was hungry, but he didn't ask for food.

Night looming the desert sun as they were exiting the airport. Around La'sava there were too many electrical lights from a the Nuclear Plant to see the stars but the moon was still in perfect view. The Nuclear Plant was perhaps the one thing that brought people to the city, otherwise it would just be another stepping ground of an outpost. The whole city was made for gambling and love making. The unofficial motto of La'sava was "No man can feel lonely here."

Katsuro was an odd man and he found none of the stunning lights interesting, perhaps he grew up around electricity but she remembered when she was a little girl that they grew up without the electricity and lived as Nomads for a short period of time. When she first encountered electricity when she was 9 she was amazed by the lights and appliances and everything from electricity. With the help of her father she became fascinated with Engineering, Invention, and Science. She was one of the privileged 3 percent of children of Gelibolu and Ozians that got formal education in higher universities and those 3 percent were put to good use in the borders. She was initially learned how to read and write at 5 for religious purposes but when she came to the city she was invested by her father into classes. She excelled brilliantly and some have said more than Vendecci Iseltov himself. However instead of being jealous he was proud of her accomplishments.

They entered the Xyraeli Military vessel which would take them somewhere that wasn't even charted on the map. A research dock which provided the way to two other bases that didn't exist. The bio-chemical testing site and the ballistics testing site. The only other base that she knew of that wasn't shown on the map was the Mt. Ijek research base for her father and it was the only privately owned research base in Ozia'av. Her father's base was more for aeronautics, arms, and other engineering feats. Right now she's been wondering what her father's been working on but it involved other Nuclear Physicists and very tight security. What was very peculiar was all the people working for it were Pure Ozians.

The stars in the sky were seen again as the boat exited the port of the Happiest City in Ozia. She leaned against the railings of the vessel and watched the reflections of the water and then in the distance the desert coasts of Ozia. Ironically, the Ozian's goddess was associated with Life and they were living in the most lifeless area of Taijitu.
