Chinese Loyalist Embassy
Mai Fa walked into the room. Sure enough, Elis was once again polishing and cleaning her two Glocks. She gave out a loud sigh.
"You sure cause a commotion last night."
"Hah, all in a day's work."
"Your brother got back to me, there's no luck with getting you close to the princess."
"She'll be alright, they finally tighten up her security. Her parents should get her a couple of personal bodyguards..."
"I thought you were her bodyguard."
"I'm a soldier following orders."
"Sigh, you turn into such a heartless woman...what happen to that cute little girl that I use to love?"
"You're referring to Alisa...I was never "cute" for anyone's sake."
"You were once, you just don't remember."
Mai Fai leaned in close and kissed Elis in the cheeks. "You're well love in our family, remember that Elis. You are our princess."
Elis gave her cousin a cold glare. Mai grinned back at her.
"Cheer up Elis. I know your piss with your brother's decision to cut you off from your company...but he only wants you to be safe. War is not a pretty place for anyone, especially not a girl."
"If he wanted me to be safe, why did he send me on this "errand"?"
Mai Fa looked at Elis, the girl's eye was filled with sadness and angst. "He only wants you to be happy."
Elis replied with silent. She was angry with her brother, Mai Fa could tell. She just couldn't believe that the Chancellor would send her on this mission after he denied her first. Perhaps a compromise on his part...

Mai Fa was on the secure line connecting to the capital. On the other side, a heavy voice spoke.
"How is she?"
"She's doing good" Mai Fa replied. "Still piss with you though."
"Sigh, maybe i been too lenient with her."
"Don't say that, freedom is the best gift a woman can have."
"Maybe I should had attended to her more..."
"Chuckles, it's so like you worry over how you treat your sisters. Just let them do what they want, each one of them is different."
"I feel like I indulged her older sister to much...."
"So you didn't wanted to spoil Elis the same way? Look, these girls are members of your family, they can afford to be indulged."
"Ya, but I just don't want them to be...constrain to formality...I want them to have...a choice with their lives. Retain their independence..."
"Did anyone ever tell you that you sound like feminist?"
"What?"
"Look, just let her cool off some steam. Then...maybe you two can meet up and spend some time together..."
"It's getting too dangerous...letting her go was a bad decision..."
"Well, you knew there was going to be a few odd individuals out there to cause trouble, but I think she'll be ok--"
"I'm coming."
"What???"
"I can't stand it, I'm worry sick about her."
"Wait, are you saying your coming--?"
"I need to make sure nothing happens to her..."
"?? Look, I think she'll be okay... you have a country to run, you can't just skip on the job..!"
"I'll talk to you later, make sure she stays out of trouble."
The phone hangs up.
"What in heaven?" she murmured.
