Title: Operation Ironhide, Valideen Involvement in the Great Border War
Post by: Validus on October 27, 2007, 07:06:23 PM
***Operation Ironhide***
**Rendezvous in Validus**
*VFB George Town*

General McKinsley looked out from his window, at the massive field which once showed lushes green grass as far as the eye could see. Now it was filled with hundreds of modular tents, soon to be the home to tens of thousands of soldiers and marines. McKinsley could just barely see the Ocean, but what he could see in it was  a dozen large warships. A smile came accross his face the day was getting closer, the day when he would put his men through the fire and hell to try out their training in a real environment.

Up above the General could hear the roar of a turboprop aircraft low to the ground. He looked up and saw the first of many C-130J aircraft brining in both men and equipment from across the nation to the staging points here on the eastern coast.

It has been two weeks since the Beginning of Operation Standard Spirit, which was the stand up phase of Operation Ironhide. It will be another week or two before they are ready to set sail to Canada. Luckily the weather had been fair, since the beginning of the Operation temperatures have been above 10C, and it has been sunny. According to the national Weather agency this trend was going to come to and end at the end of the week with temperatures dropping, still above freezing, and rain coming in off the ocean.

Close to 200,000 Soldiers and Marines had flooded into the area surrounding VFB George Town. Most of them Seasoned Regulars but many still untested but trained reservists. All of them were equipped to the highest standards capable for an operation of this size.

Dozens of ships now filled the ports dozens more were anchored off shore. In their off time many soldiers and marines would sit by the water and just look out at them in amazement, no one had see n these many warships in one location, especially with the carriers. It was a glorious sight, that few of them will ever see again. For these men and women were on the march to war.

The mighty High Seas Fleet sailed near the Valideen coast to where the Valideen ships were gathering. The flagship HICS Inglish Columbia was at the center with her sister ships, the Quebec, the Alberta, and the Nova Scotia. The four Ontario-class battleships were the backbone of the Canadian main battle fleet. Alongside the great battlewagons were two Artorion-class supercarriers. Surrounding the ships were destroyers, frigates, cruisers and battlecruisers. This was the largest gathering of Canadian ships into the High Seas Fleet all under the command of Guy Trudeau, Admiral of the Fleet. This fleet was going to represent the Greater Canadian Empire. Admiral Trudeau looked from the bridge of his battleship at the emerging Valideen fleet. The Valideen fleet was already large, but the Canadian High Seas Fleet was going to add extra firepower. Beside the Admiral was Vice-Admiral Hudson. The Vice-Admiral enjoyed being the Admiral's student. Hudson learned much from his mentor, and was on his way to become a great admiral. Many predict that he will succeed Trudeau as Admiral of the Fleet when he retires.

"A good day this is. Vice-Admiral, let's show the Valideen Navy the extra firepower that we have given them."

"Admiral, I still don't see why we weren't stationed on the east coast fighting the Dysaniian Navy."

"The General Staff has decided that the First, Second and Third Fleets are more then enough for the Dysaniian Navy to handle. The High Seas Fleet will be better use helping it's allies."

"Perhaps we should contact the Valideen Admiral."

"Let's do that right now. Ensign, patch me into the Valideen flagship. Tell them Admiral Guy Trudeau has arrived with the High Seas Fleet."

Aboard the IVS Queen Lexa, Supercarrier and Flagship of the Valideen Navy. "Sir, I have the Canadians on the wire. They want to speak you you sir."

Fleet Admiral Vincent picked up a handset that was stationed on his console. "This is Fleet Admiral Vincent, Commander of the Royal Navy of Valiuds. I see you brought out your guns for a show." He said this as he looked at a video screen from one of the Navy helicopters that was circling the Canadians.

**Meanwhile at the Docks**

"Lets Get these things moving!" yelled the Dock Chief.

Hundreds of vehicles were being driven in to large landing ships, backwards. The day was drawing closer to when the Valideen Navy would set sail.

Admiral Trudeau laughed when he heard the Valideen admiral. "Well, it wouldn't be called the High Seas Fleet if I didn't put her out to the high seas. Besides, you will need all the firepower you can get. When will we be ready to leave for our second objective?"

"We Will be setting sail in 5 days, the ground pounders will be loading up in my ships starting tomorrow. I have word that our Airborne guys are going to be heading to some of your airfields soon to prepare for their operations." The Admiral looked out the window of the bridge, he could see a small spec on the horizon, it was one of their battleships.

**Task Force K-Bar**

It had been a long journey to get all the troops from bases and cities around Validus to its eastern shores, and then onto the ships at sea. General McKinsley, supreme commander of the Invasion Forces, stood alongside his comrade Fleet Admiral Vincent on the bridge of the Queen Lexa. "Admiral, what do you say we get this rag tag group of boats underway,"

The Admiral looked at him and scoweled, "Ships, sir, you mean ships."

"Ah, yes, Ships." replied the General with a lightend accent.

Under the Admirals orders, the massive fleet of Valideen and Canadian vessels took to the blue water. The Fleet was underway.

Admiral Trudeau smiled. He loved the ocean. He believed it was an unforgiving lover, but the High Seas Fleet was it's masterpiece. The fleet was alongside the Valideen fleet. He had never seen so many ships in a single fleet. But they weren't done yet. And soon Trudeau will see his people free and strong once again. The fleet tore through the ocean surface like a hot knife through butter. Trudaeu knew it would be awhile before they get to their destination. "The bridge is yours, Vice-Admiral Hudson. I will be in my cabin."

"Aye, sir." Vice-Admiral looked out on the fleet.

"Admiral Hudson, urgent message from Empress Alia and the Advisory Council!" said an ensign as he handed Hudson a piece of paper.

Quote
To: Guy Trudeau, Admiral of the Fleet and Commander of the High Seas Fleet

A pro-monachist rebel group in Dysanii has decided to help in the war effort by launching a coup on the current Republican government and then end the war. However in order for them to cooperate with us, they ask that there be no aggresive attacks on Dysaniian soil or they will help the Federal Army expel us. The message from them has stated that they have mustered a force of 13,000 Imperial Guards and they need weapons and materials. We order you to help them by supplying them with weapons and send word to the Valideen Admiral and government. No invasion, help the Dysaniian monarchists.

Sincerly

Her Imperial Majesty
Alia Artorion, Empress of the Greater Canadian Empire

"Damn, they are asking me to waste the time that it took for us to help the Valideens gather a force and invade the Dysaniian mainland. Now they want us to help the Dysaniians with weapons and equipment. Wake Admiral Trudeau." The ensign saluted and let. A few minutes later, Admiral Trudeau arrived on the bridge.

"What's this all about, Admiral Hudson?"

Hudson handed Guy the message. "This. The Empress is ordering us to do this."

"Then we must. Send this message to Fleet Admiral Vincent. He will want to look at this. Also send a copy to the Valideen government. Now. Every minute counts."

ooc: sorry for posting here, i don't see a reason to start a new topic...

A Delfian fleet finally arrived from Validus. In order for the cooperation of the blockade, the delfian admiral tried to contact the Canadian commander.

"Admiral Trudeau, do you copy? This is Admiral Alberto, we have a big fleet here for cooperation in the blockade and with Valideen operations. Could you send me information about the needs and gaps you might have so we can get a comfy space in this blockade?"

Admiral Trudeau heard a voice from the headset. It was the Delfian Navy. He picked up the headset. "Admiral Alberto, this is Admiral Trudeau, we see you have brought out a large fleet. I am waiting for Admiral Vincent of the Valideen Navy to answer me, but do you ahve any weapons on board that we can give to an anti-Republic group in Copperville. They promised to launch a coup on the current government and sieze power. If they do so then they have promised an end to the war, but in exchange for their help, we must not launch aggresive attacks on Dysanii. I believe with our help they can be victorious, but if they fail, we continue with operations."

"I am having the Army send me the uniforms from Dysaniian POWs and dead. I was thinking of also giving them Dysaniian weapons and then help them get inside of the capital so they can launch the coup from the capital itself. They will never get power if they launch a coup from the outside. The less bloodshed, the better."

"Sir, message," said Captain Henderson, executive officer under Fleet Admiral Vincent, as the Fleet Admiral walked on to the bridge.

The Admiral read it and then crumpled it up in his hand in Anger. He picked up a handset, "Get me General McKinsley," The General picked up on the other side of the line. The two high commanders of the Valideen Military talked for 5 minutes and were in agreement. They had enough forces to land in Dysanii, trained the Land in Dysanii and unless the Government said otherwise they were going to follow their orders to land in Dysanii. The Supreme Commander hung up, now the admiral was interested in talking to the Canadians, "Get me the Canadian Admiral." ordered Vincent.

"Admiral Trudeau, I don't see why we don't attack, the Valideen and the Delfians have enough soldiers to overrun Dysanii , and with our help from the west, we can chase the Dysaniians across there western provinces. Are you sure a sixteen-year-old child should be able to control our armies?" asked Vice-Admiral Hudson.

Trudeau turned to his aide and student. "Vice-Admiral Hudson, listen. Empress Alia doesn't control the armies and the fleets. She controls our foreign policies. If she thinks that we should wait then we should. Those are orders."

Hudson looked down and shook his head. "I just think she might repeat what her grandfather did."

"What? Arrest people who don't agree with her, kill innocent people, set up concentration camps and commit genocide on the Cree and other minorities, murder members of Parliament, then abolish it and replace it with a council of her supporters? No she isn't like her grandfather. She's young. She is still learning. And your right, I am angered by this and I hope the Dysaniians turn this down. Because no matter what government Dysanii is under, it still is a nationalist, facist Dysanii. I would rather see a Dysanii that has submitted to Greater Canada and her allies and has been...."

An ensign walked up. "Sirs, Fleet Admiral Vincent wishes to speak with you."

Admirals Hudson and Trudeau put on headsets to talk to their Valideen counterpart. Trudeau started. "I guess you got the message."

Several companies of Airborne Assault Division were resting in Plorisk, and allot of booze was involved. Operation Tandem was a success they said. In the cold night, the hot festive spirit inside the "Wings of Glory" improvised bar was at maximum. But suddenly an high ranked officer went inside and everyone stood up.
"At ease... Congratulations on the success of Operation Tandem. We are now a fully credited company."
Everyone cheered.
"Now, they want us to proove those credits, they have called us all for an important task. First thing in the morning, you chaps and the Collosean fellows will be transported to Validus."
The room gone quiet, they were all very doubtful on their task. Everyone knew that soon the Valideen forces would make a move against Dysanii. And now with the support of Delfian fleet, it was sure that they would help on the landing.
"Any questions?"
"Sir, specifically, what is our task?"
"Your task is code name 'i don't know'. Seriously now, we don't know."
Another one asked.
"Are we going to assault Dysanii?"
"Where would you get that idea? I don't know. As far as I know, we're going to have some more training in Valideen motherland. Now dismiss!"

At the time of turning off the lights, two sergeants were missing, they had skip their activities for a private party. When everyone was preparing to have a good night sleep, they shown up in the barracks, loud talks, very drunk.
"Shhhh you shit heads, we're trying to sleep!"
"Hey what's with the attitude, I thought we were celebrating!"
"Too bad you missed our party, we had a visit."
"From who? The emperor of Xyrael?"
"Very funny, we have some news for you two."
"What?"
"mo-bi-li-za-tion..."
"Where?"
"They didn't want to tell us, we're going to Validus, probably to go to Canada."
"I guess i need some sleep..."
"Good night..."

"Admiral, you can't possibly think that this is a good idea!? We have a massive amount of troops capable of going in and easing pressure off of your nations ground pounders. We have spent millions of dollars getting this armada underway and now you are telling us that we waisted our money? That we waisted our time and effort to try and help you?"

"Admiral, I furious at this development! I am taking orders from a sixteen-year-old child, who knows nothing about war. I say continue with the campaign. She may believe that if she makes peace now, that we will be safe and have peace. Alia doesn't understand that a united Dysanii is a dangorous Dysanii. I say attack, this is your battle fleet and your army. You call the shots not me."

"Admiral, you need to talk to your government, you need to convince them that if we don't step in and remove the current government and replace it by one for the people by the people, all we will be doing is making Dysanii go from a Fascist to a Xenophobic government, and either way will cause conflict, in the future. Possibly greater then the one we are in right now. My government knows this, as you do. We need to stop this here and now. We are going to be landing our troops Admiral, that is certain."

"Admiral, sir." said Vice-Admiral Hudson. "We have another message from Ottawa. It's urgent."

"Let me see that." Trudeau looked over the message. He turned back to the headset. "Admiral Vincent, it looks like my government agrees with you, wholeheartly. I have a message in my hands that states that Parliament has stripped Empress Alia of her emergency powers and has given them to Regent Selene. Regent Selene is ordering my battle group to aid you in your invasion. She says that the Dysanii rebels will have to do without our support. But she says that if the Dysaniians ask for peace, the Canadian government will talk. She wants to end this war as quickly as possible. I have my orders. Lets begin the invasion."

NDS Kandinsky and NDS Monet were already fully equipped, accompanied by a landing support fleet. This arrival took place on the rendez-vous northeast of Canada, after all it was a short journey from Validus. As soon they established visual contact, they phoned the Blockade Fleet commander.

"Sir? This is landing fleet, we're directly north of the blockade, please confirm vector to standby."
"Welcome to Canadian Waters, I'll inform the other fleets of your arrival, yes please come to standby vector."

Soon the fleet set sail to their position. The commander changed frequencies...

Admiral Alberto: "Canadian and Valideen fleets, this is Admiral Alberto from ND Naval Force, we have an incoming delfian fleet bearing 357 to support the mission. Fleet Admiral Vincent, as soon this fleet reaches it's vector we are ready for mission, over."

***
6am

All the ready to deploy from the Airborne Assault Division were standing in the airfield. As the trumpet sounded it's notes and the wind blew, the star in red got raised, and several blue stripes were followed and flew in the wind. A small pamphlet was giving them the news and salutations from the Delfian generals and Supreme Council.
The NDAF Air Transport Service was almost in full force there. They were all listed in the transports and got into them. They were all geared up, with some extra bags. Even some civilian aircraft have been requested for this transport. They all had places to go, but Validus land would become a bit more full of troops.

massive lights shawned on the row upon Row of Valideen Troopers were lined up in jumprigs with rucks between their knees. All three regiments of the division were there. Lt. General Lesly Clark stood on the podium in front of them. "Paratroopers and aircrew of the Valideen 1st Airborne Division, you are about to embark on the great crusade. You will be the light in an abyss of darkness. Our goal is to liberate Dysanii, city by city, town by town, house by house. We will be jumping into battle, so be prepared to fight as soon as you hit the ground. We are the scalpel in this operation, we will be cutting off their line of advance to the boys on the beach. It is our job to make sure they do not get through, and we will do that job. Be cause WHO ARE YOU!" he yelled to the paratroopers.

An overwhelming sound of pride came from the troopers all lined up, "AIRBORNE!"

"WHO ARE WE!"

"AIRBORNE!"

"HOW FAR!"

"ALL THE WAY!"

"HUA!"

"HUAAAA!"

"Now get to your planes," everyone started running as fast as they could with their loaded kit towards their assigned aircraft.

**IVS Queen Lexa**
*2334 Hours*

The flight deck on the Super Carrier was abuzz with activity. Men wearing all sorts of coloured shirts were running around doing tasks, directing the fighters, positioning the fighters, arming the fighters. "Bravo Ninner Fife Whiskey, this is Flattop, bird secure awaiting order, over"

"Flattop this is Bravo Ninner Fife Whiskey, secure bird confirmed. Will launch when ready, over,"

"Roger, out" the Flattop, the Pilot of a Navy F/A-18 Super Hornet gave the thumbs up and placed his hands on the window frame, the fighter was suddenly launched from 0 to 300 miles per hour and then into the air. Flattop put his hands back on the controls and threw up the afterburners gaining altitude, his wingman was launched right after him. The first sortie was launched against Dysanii. The first of hundreds, for their was 2 Valideen Super carriers, 3 Fleet carriers and 2 escort carriers in this massive fleet, all of which began to launch aircraft.

Elephant 1: "Nutcracker, this is Elephant crossing to Canada, happy to see you in radar."
Nutcracker: "Elephant, it is good to see you!"
Elephant 1: "Tanker have filled us, we are ready to mission, Vector to Bravo."
Nutcracker: "Roger, will pass the message."

Admiral Alberto: "Fleet Admiral Vincent, our landing fleet is Standby, our AWACS name is Elephant and is already sending info, we are ready for mission, waiting for your fleet, over."

Admiral Alberto: "NDS Narvirsk Carrier, GO for Flying Circus mission."
NDS Navirsk Carrier Captain Guedes: "Flying Circus is now commencing."

*Flying Circus*

The alarm sounded in the small delfian carrier. Fairy 1 and 2 were assigned to escort Elephant to it's limit and launch ground attack, but they were half of the MiG-35 force present. The rest were all Rafale, and those were ordered to run directly to objectives.
After the sequence of projection, both fairies were in the air. Soon followed by the other aircraft involved in the Flying Circus mission.
Sugar1: "Sugars, vector to mission, following Gamma."
Candy1: "Candies vector to mission, following Gamma, right behind you Sugars and Fairies."
Fairy1: "Roger, ascending to cruise altitude."
Candy2: "Tanker is scheduled in Gamma, and is already in vector, escorted by a couple of ours."
Sugar1 to Sugar2: "I haven't seen such risk taken, ever."
Sugar2: "I agree, but that's why we are the best."
Sugar1: "Oh you liked the propaganda movie?"
Sugar2: "Don't call it that, it sounds like i was brainwashed!"
Sugar1: "It's normal. They want to turn us on for combat."
Sugar2: "I rather the vodka they give."
Sugar1: "Sure, i could use some now myself."
Elephant4: "Guys, quite the chat, we have a mission to do."
Sugar2: "Since when AWACS tells us what to do?"
Elephant4: "shhh! Shut up! What are you thinking, use code names. Sugar 2, just follow the guides or i won't get you targets."
Sugar2: "I'm sorry baby elephant, i know you are kidding. I'm out"
Sugar1: "I didn't know they could access our private line without permission. Save fuel, we should try to run for fuel, mission in, mission out. I don't want to refuel more than once, alright?"
Sugar2: "Deal."

*Nutcracker*

Commander: "All ships at two thirds! Prepare the troops!"

Someone knocked on the door of the sleeping cabin.
"waky waky...we need to get ready for action..."
"hmmmm...go awaaay! let me sleeeep..."
"WE ARE UNDER ATTACK! GET THE FUCK UP!" *every men of the cabin got up in a second* "That's more likely, now get your gear and meet at the boat bay."

Admiral Trudeau looked out at the invasion fleet. He had never seen an invasion fleet of this size, hell, he was sure there hasn't been an invasion fleet of this size ever. He turned to Hudson. "This decides the fate of a nation. Prepare the carriers to launch their aircraft. I want them up there with their Valideen and Delfian counterparts. Tell the other battleships to manuvere into a position that their main guns are the most effective. I want the battlecruisers to do the same. We need to help out as best as we can."

Vice-Admiral Hudson saluted "Yes, sir."

Trudeau went back to the window. This battle will decide our fate. Either we are destroyed or we come out victorius.

Fairy1: "Fairy2, i see Elephant on radar, don't you?"
Fairy2: "Yes, seems to be straight ahead, although it's too dark to say..."
Fairy1: "Elephant? I've got you on radar, could you declare your position on us?"
Elephant2: "Operator Elephant2 with you, Elephant is at 11:30 of your position, three fifty to be more precise."
Fairy1: "Sugars and Candies, Fairies found Elephant, Tanker must be west of us."
Sugar1: "Roger, we are at the tanker, starting the coupling."

All the other aircraft got refueled. When they proceeded with the mission it was fairies' turn to refuel for coastal attack.

Candy1: "Sugars we picked a radar signal, we should start counter-measures."
Sugar1: "Alright, start SPECTRA for jamming signal."
Candy1: "Roger, it won't take long until they realise we're here."
Sugar1: "No problem, we have enough firepower to neutralize the threat."
Sugar2: "Elephant, confirm radar targets, vector Epsilon ahead."
Elephant4: "Targets updated in 30 seconds. We see no threatening activity, everyone seems to be asleep."
Sugar2: "Roger, switching for ground mode, communications out in 20 seconds."
Sugar1: "Epsilon gone, Sugars, vector to Foxtrot, mission targets in a couple of minutes, COM out until next vector, out."
Candy1: "Targets acquired, ground mode, COM out for Foxtrot, good luck Sugars, out."

"Listen up! Flying circus is on going, we need to get ready to embark! Gather everything you need and throw into your boats, you will need it! Here's the rest of the gears."

It was the first time the Seaborne Assault Division was being debriefed for war. Other than exercises, they didn't have real combat experience, not exactly the same for the Fuzileiros, because those were a more specialized force, and allot of divisions from the Fuzileiros had real life missions every day in the seas. When they received the weapons, something was more than great. They used to train with AK47s, but this ones were lighter. As the first opened the bag...
"Sweet mother! Brand new Xavies!"
"Yes, this is a gift from the Supreme Council and Defense House, they made a last hour contract with Xavier Arms to equip all the Seaborne divisions with Xavies. Oh and here are Zeiss scopes...Squad Leaders will have 3 scopes to give to each team, I'm sorry for those who won't have a Zeiss, but it's fine, you have a pretty good weapon."
"And what are those in the floor?"
"Vodka, it will be distributed soon...don't drink too much!"

After a couple of Vodka shots for good luck to everyone, some of the squad leaders packed the bottles into the boats and brought more ammunition boxes. Everyone was ready to enter the boats. The Amphibious transport was great, they had really good support after landing, allot of vehicles were brought from the motherland.

"Alright, everyone ready! Nutcracker is a go when we receive word from Elephant about Flying Circus! Get ready!"

"Hot Trick, wilco, over"

"McDoos, roger, here I go, out,"

The F/A-18 dove in a steep attack vector on a large pillbox which was on a hill just above one of the landing beaches.

"Weapons gone," McDoos dropped two bunker buster bombs on the target and pulled up steeply. He looked down at his target through the canopy. It was alight with explosions.

Sugar1: "Breaking COM, Storm 1 hit, status!"
Sugar2: "Impact, Fox1 and Fox2 hit, SAM launchers destroyed."
Sugar1: "There's two other over there, I'm going, go for Mobile Radar targets."
Sugar2: "Sugar2 Copy."
Candy1: "Sugars? Candy1 for status, Ground targets destroyed, Vector to Gamma, anti-radar mission, over."
Sugar1: "Candy1, Foxtrot is not complete, SAM launchers are still active."
Candy1: "SAM Launch! Going Defense!"
Sugar1: "Fuckers! Going SEAD..."
Sugar2: "Running in, bombs released...Ground Targets destroyed, Sugar2 requesting new orders."
Sugar1: "Where did that SAM Launch came from, there must be more!"
Sugar2: "Negative on radar...Elephant4, we're missing additional SAM units, over."
Elephant4: "Four IGLA in the ground, marking targets, update in 10 seconds..."
Sugar2: "We don't have 10 seconds!!!"
Sugar1: "SAM Launch! Watch out behind you."
Sugar2: "I see...releasing decoy..."
Sugar1: "You were suppose to save it..."
Candy1: "IGLA in sight, taking target! Running in, guns on target."
Sugar1: "Nice, Sugar1 Fox1 and Fox2 on target."
Candy1: "Northern IGLA destroyed, Candy2, take out the one in the south before we move."
Candy2: "Roger, going SEAD."
Sugar2: "I'm taking some damage, flacks on my 6, Western IGLA destroyed."
Sugar1: "SAM Launchers destroyed, Foxtrot is complete, we're going for additional Air Defenses, over."
Sugar2: "SAM Launch! Going Defense!"
Sugar1: "Pitch down! It's too close!"
Sugar2: "Releasing flares..."
Fairy1: "Sugars and Candies, what's your status?"
Sugar1: "Sugar1, There's hidden Anti-Air, we're taking care of it, major SAM Launchers Destroyed."
Candy1: "Candy1, Radars are all down in the coast, we're moving inland, assisting Sugars on Air Defenses."
Sugar2: "HELP WITH THE BLOODY IGLA!"
Candy2: "Running in, Guns on target...Southern IGLA Destroyed."
Sugar1: "Alright, Everyone on Eastern IGLA and Flack Gun."
Candy1: "Candies Assisting, Going SEAD...Fox 2 on Flacks...Flacks Destroyed."
Candy2: "Candy2 Roger, Going for Eastern IGLA."
Candy1: "SAM Launch, I'm too close!"
Candy 1's plane tried to go around, the missile was too much on him, and he was too low.
Candy1: "Flares!"
Candy2: "Running in, Candy2 Fox3."

The flares spread on the sky, the missile was tricked in a split second, Candy1 gone straight up, the missile was loosing power but still catching up, after the jet loosing too much speed, the missile started to catch up quickly, and when the plane turned down the missile followed with extreme speed.
Candy1: *between harsh breaths* "Shit!"

The rocket Candy2 have fired was closing on the IGLA at the same time the other was closing on Candy1.
Two simultaneous explosions sounded in the air.
Candy2: "Candy2 Fox3 hit, IGLA Destroyed. zzzzzzzZZZZZZ#%$#%%$&ZZZZZZZZZZZZZ" *Interference in COM link*
Sugar1: "I don't see a parachute..."
Everyone was expecting to see a parachute, but the only lights were the cities around and the coastal defense on fire.
Sugar1: "Vector to Gamma. Candy2, proceed with mission."
Candy2: "What if he made it, can i double check?"
Sugar1: "It's too dark, proceed with mission, if he made it he will know soon after the disembark."
Sugar2: "Candy, do you have enough armament to proceed alone?"
Candy2: "No, I'll ride with you, Gamma is a structure destruction with radio and radar towers, easy target."
Sugar1: "Alright, lets hit it with everything we can. Remember to be double careful, we are not doing any surprise."
Sugar2 and Candy2: "Roger."

Fairy1: "Going for Ground Targets, lets level the coast for the disembark!"
Fairy2: "Fairy2 Bombs released..."
Fairy1: "Fairy1 Running in...fox1 gone, fox2, fox 3, fox 4...impact, guns and weapons cache destroyed, Vector DA clean."
Fairy2: "Defense positions destroyed, Running in for fuel supplies and weapons cache."
Fairy1: "Fairy1 Going for wall on Vector DB."
Fairy2: "Guns on target...target destroyed, Vector DC clean!"
Fairy1: "Fairy1 dropping bombs, wow! large impact, wall is open, Vector DB is open!"
Fairy2: "Read when you are..."
Fairy1: "Fairies, Vector to Hotel, Army Base is not on vector, Hotel is now bearing 205, 10 o'clock."
Fairy2: "Fairy2 roger, base in sight, bombs are hot."
Fairy1: "Warehouses 11:30!"
Fairy2: "Fairy2 Going for warehouses...Bombs dropped, boooom...Ground Target Destroyed."
Fairy1: "Fairy1 bombs released, enemy vehicles destroyed."
Fairy2: "Roger, returning to formation."

Fairy1: "Sugars and Candies, what's your status?"
Sugar1: "Stations are hit, we were about to go home but we spot an airfield, there's activity, request help."
Fairy1: "Alright, Fairies for Friendly Support."
Candy2: "Candy2 firing at stationary aircraft."
Sugar1: "Sugars target ground targets at air base."
Sugar2: "Roger, Fox 3 and 4 on Hangar. Target hit, Elephant4? Request advice on targets."
Elephant4: "Roger, targets updated, Fuel Warehouse is primary target."
Candy2: "Take this you bastards! Guns on Warehouse!"
Sugar1: "You're too close Candy, watch for the explosion radius!"
*BOOOM Large explosion on the airfield, the area became like daylight, and became illuminated ever since because of the flames coming in from the tanker trucks, cars, and the large busted tank in the ground.*

Candy2: "Candy2 Ground aircraft destroyed, Fuel Warehouse destroyed, but I see two bandits on the sky."
Sugar1: "Sugars immediate engage on Air Bandits."
Sugar2: "Roger, Ground Targets destroyed, engaging air bandits."
Fairy1: "We're close, we have Air Bandits on the radar, please come northwards for support."
Candy2: "Let me just fire my babies and I'll come right after."
Fairy2: "Hey,Fairy1, I do not have AAM..."
Fairy1: "Alright, Fairy 2 Vector to Momma."
Fairy2: "Fairy2 returning to Momma."
Candy2: "Candy2, firing Magic2 1...missed, firing Magic2 2, Target hit!"
*The explosion of the Dysanii aircraft was great, everyone was happy for it.*
Sugar1: "I see a parachute. Good job, target the other bandit."
Candy2: "Candy2, I'm out, Vector to Momma."
Sugar2: "Candy watch out, he's trying to lock on you!"
Candy2: "Bloody hell!"
Sugar2: "Sugar2 firing Magic2 1."
Fairy1: "Fairy1 firing missile."
Sugar2: "Magic missed."
Sugar1: "Locking on."
*The Fairy1 missile was riding fast, passed Candy2 in a hurry and locked on the last Dysanii airplane. The Dysanii Air Force jet after exhausting the flares on the first missile was trying hard to get loose of this second, seconds after an explosion shattered the jet.*
Fairy1: "Fairy1 confirming hit, Air Bandit Destroyed, Returning to Momma."
Sugar1: "Alright, Sugar2, what's your fuel status?"
Sugar2: "I'm loosing some fuel from the Flack Gun i think, could you check it for me? I can't see."
Sugar1: "Alright, go straight I'll close in...you are loosing something, you have 3 small holes on the bottom and a large on near the tank, maybe it pierced in..."
Sugar2: "I need full tank then."
Sugar1: "Great...Vector to Tanker then, I'll follow."
Candy2: "Candy2, Circus and Momma, Flying Circus Candy is complete."
Sugar1: "Flying Circus Sugar is complete, we're going for the tanker."
Fairy1: "Flying Circus Fairy is complete, Fairy2 is already on the way, I'm escorting damaged friendly aircrat."
Circus: "Damage Report?"
Sugar1: "All targets down including additional targets, we need better intel next time. 2 Bandits down, Candy1 is missing, and Sugar2 is leaking, has several holes in the hull but might make it."
Circus: "Report on Whole D Sector?"
Fairy1: "Whole D Sector is clean, ready for Nutcracker."
Circus: "Alright, good job, we'll talk more here."

*Nutcracker*
Circus: "D Sector is clean, you can launch Nutcracker."
Nutcracker: "Alright, thanks for everything."

"Sir, good news?"
Nutcracker Commander: "Excellent news, pass the message, Nutcracker is a GO."
Nutcracker: "All ships, Flying Circus was a success, Nutcracker is a GO."

"Everyone, move it! The beach is clean, go go go!"

Squad Leader Bruno was watching all the boats making noise going out of the Boat Bay, after reaching outside he saw the other lights from the boats released from behind the ships, and all amphibious transport ships were going eastwards. After the big turn, they could see fire columns coming from the dark horizon, although their beach was a bit west from that action, some of the landing crews would disembark on the D Sector to capture destroyed enemy positions and clean bunkers.

All was quite aboard the plane. All was quiet in the sky. Up in the cockpit the Pilots had a stern look on his face. "Jim, this isn't right. I don't get this," He looked down at his radar monitor, "not even a Jamming signal. Still got clear comms." I have a bad feeling about this. He pressed a button, "Listen up ladies and gentlmen, This is your captain speaking. We have tree zero minutes gentlemen drop. So say your last words on a Valideen piece of equipment for awhile. out."

Post by: Dysanii on November 15, 2007, 06:04:05 PM
As the Valideen invasion commenced, all was hectic on the Dysanii coast. Troops scuttled to their own emplacements and bunkers, manning machine guns, howitzers, tanks, and anything else that would hurt Valideen soldiers. Men even threw themselves into light trench networks.  From small and large airfields across this region of the country, swarms of planes of all varieties and ages were hastily sent skywards to counter the infringement of enemy aircraft. Hordes of recruits were herded into positions stretching across the invasion front and mingled with professional troops, whilst civilians were given any arms that could be mustered and incorporated into the 'Home Defense Town and City Garrison' scheme. If the Valideen forces were not overcome by numbers, every Dysanii knew their duty; no matter what the cost, they would lay down their lives to repulse the foreign aggressors.

The Copperville Provisional government even congratulated the efforts of the Republic to defend Dysanii soil, and sent their own Emperors Volunteer Army, which had swelled greatly, and Imperial Guards to add to the substantial home guard effort under Republic command. Dysanii was fighting total war, on a unified front, and was ready for this. Now that an internal threat of foreign aggression had been met, the morale of the men on the Canadian front lifted - it was now not their job, but their purpose to hold the captured cities, and that they would do. The navy remained at key positions along the coast were support from the shore was large and deadly; they were not needed to uselessly engage the ships of the Valideen and their allies - once the brunt of the ground invasion had been bore, the attack on the invaders supply lines would start, and Dysanii would bleed the Valieen menace from the sea.

The Light in the back of the lead aircraft turned from Red to yellow, then to green. "GO! GO! GO!" The Entire Airborne Division jumped out of the Valideen Aircraft. Hitting the dirt. Sergeant Carlson rounded up his section fast. Their objective was just three kilomters away. A small bridge that was still left standing after the massive aerial bombardment. In all only a dozen major bridges were still standing. The rest were knocked out by the air or by cruise missiles fired from the sea. All of the standing bridges were within walking distance of the DZs.

**Sea Serpent**

The Sea was now filled with hundreds of landing craft. Older model LCAs newer model LAV-Ts and even AAAVs. LCTs were also in the mix. In all over 100,000 Men and women of the Royal Marine Expeditionary Force and the Royal Army were about to storm the beaches of Dysanii.

"Sir, Enemy warship baring 143 Degrees. Distance 14 Kilometers and closing at 26 knots." said a Sub-Lieutenant manning Surface Radar.

District Air Defense Launcher Number 21

"Viag! We are getting message from Central..."

"Is it orders to engage?"

"I am reading it....All ADLs in Valhene District...enemy invasion underway....switch radar on now....operate configuration 67EE....jamming Countermeasure F Band 38G32 and G Band 38A281....engage all aircraft within range...our aircraft will remain out of sector...free engagement....message out and good luck."

" It seems our wait is over, and HQ even manage to figure their jamming! What are we waiting for? let's turn on the radar!"

"These foreigners are in for a surprise...hehe..."

Lieutenant Gior got up from the communication console and into the main console of his Patriot missile truck. He flips the power switch and waits for the OS to load. Meanwhile, Viag putted on his jacket and went outside.

"....Ah, finally finish. Okay fucking Westerners....time to eat Patriot."
Quote
...Radar activated....Configuration G7EE...Track-via-Missile...Countermeasure Protocol Y/N?....Please enter....system configuration complete....Patriot PAC-2 Air Defense System Online....

Viag reenters the vehicle, taking off his jacket and throwing it in his seat. "Vien and Tokia has the launchers up and the missiles are armed. What do we have?"

"Radar still warming up.....Ah! Here we go....Viag, get onto your console!"

"I'm on it!"

On the radar screen several dozen bogeys lit up. Data tags floated above the red dots, displaying range and speed.

"Fucking hell, we got a shitload of crows...clearing clutter....tracking total of 14 non-friendly within 100 km. 23 within 150 km...."

"Targeting closest targets to us...give the fire order?"

"Shoot them down, them cowards..."

Outside, the four tubes on the Patriot System Trailer bursted in a hot glow. The missiles shot out at consecutive order, all four flying towards their designated targets. The first missile headed toward a Validian para drop plane flying too slow to evade. Not that it matter, within a minute the Mach 5  Patriot locked on and slammed into the plane's fuselage. The rest was history.

"We got a big one...now let's see how their fighters fare..."

"Hit...Hit...Hit...bastards are flying in mass formation."

"Idiots..."

"We will do the same, no?"

"I don't like to judge our Air Force brothers...go tell Vien and Tokia to reload faster..."

"They are doing their best...as are we..."

"Eh, I pray our boys on the beaches fare as well as us..."

"Hey, you want a burger?"

"Are they still open?"

"Yeah, their lights are still on."

"Yeah get me a cheeseburger."

Viag opened and closed the door. Zipping up his jacket, he began walking across the pavement. A group of teenage girls wave and giggle at him.

"Go home! Your mothers are worry sick!"
"Not until you give us a kiss!"
"Hehe...don't think your fathers will like that..."

Viag enters the burger joint, who's parking lot they been hiding in for the last three hours. The small town it was in was just 21 miles from the beach where the enemy was making their ill fated attack.

"Evening, I like two Super Cheddars, easy on the onions."

"Coming right up sir, you want fries with that?"

"Sure, give me lots of ketchup too."

"So Corporal, where you heading next?"

"I'm not at liberty to say, haha...anywhere to prevent the enemy from pinpointing us."

"Well good luck to you, the whole town is cheering for you! Ah, here's your order, no onions. Anything else?"

"Ah, good. How much I owe you?"

"It's on the house, anything for our boys in uniform!"

"Haha! Thank you Miss, very kind. Now, I must go to work...this uniform comes with obligations!"

"Bye!"

----
From Air Defense Launcher 1-25, operators switched on their radar and engaged the enemy drop planes and their escort fighters heading for their beaches. Missiles flew into the air at regular intervals. Spectators on the ground could hear a continual rumble as dozens of Patriot broke the sound barrier.

The enemy thought they could come in with a surprise air attack, how badly they will pay for underestimating them. What did think we were? Peasants and farmers? Oh no, what they are facing are the home groomed warriors of the Republic, boys of Valhene, and the sons of generals!

"General, report from the Valhene District."
"Lay it on me Colonel."
"53 of 58 mobile Patriot launchers left intacted. We receive word from several batteries that the anti-jamming solution Intelligence provided was successful. A total of 137 enemy planes shot down so far. Looks like the decoys worked."
"Good, those boys in Intel sure were fast in a jamming solution. Give them my commendations."
"Sure hell of a good move Louis, turning on those old radar stations for the enemy to waste their missile on."
"First thing in air defense, you never expose your assets and you keep your enemy guessing, always."
"And that is why you graduated ahead of me..."
"Haha, don't feel so bad Leo, you were not bad...you make Colonel no?"
"Cut it with the old country accent, your parents might be Olganian but you're pure bred Republican."
"Haha, I joke!"
"Get serious Vassa, we got an invasion underway..."
"I know...a lot at stake...but we will win, no?"

"Hawk One, they got Big Bird. I say again, they got Big Bird," said one of the F-35s.

"Jasper, copy do you see the sticks?"

"Roger, sticks floating in the breeze."

"Hawk One, Jasper, this is Fife Six. AWACs located Ack Ack in your area. You are to commence fast attack. Be advised it is located in Civilian area, over."

"Hawk One Roger, over"

"Jasper, Roger, over,"

"Roger, sending Target Location to your systems now, out."

The two F-35s turned wing and approached on an attack vector towards the Missile battery that took out the C-130. "Hawk One, target in sight, do you see him?"

"Roger that Jasper, I laz you shoot?"

"Wilco that Hawk One."

Over the radio they heard the crys of another doomed transport. Then there was another transmission "All Stations this is flight, Sticks are in the wind, sky train come on home."

"Be accurate with this one Hawk One, we got civvies in the area."

"Jasper Target lazed,"

"Roger," His F-35 dove in a steep attack run. "Bombs away," he pulled up fast and circled around to join Hawk One's wing. Moments later the two 500 lb laser guided bombs struck within 3 meters of the laser mark. "Target destroyed, I say again, Target Destroyed. Minimal Collateral damage, possible fire in adjacent building. Resuming on original mission."

**0300**

It was a bright starlit night. "Ok, we are going to take up positions along this ridge. He pointed at a dirt map. The Dysanii have a minimal security on the bridge. "Ok, Recce showed they have positions on the north and south ends of the bridge. They maybe have two sections worth of men. Defending this objective, and we have the element of surprise. Ok, we move in 3 minutes."

The platoon took up positions along a ridge that rand parallel to a road and the river. "On my signal," whispered the platoon commander. He took aim, and then popped off a single shot. Right then the ridge erupted in a single volley of weapons fire, taking out the guards on the north side of the bridge. The platoon Commander ordered 2 and 3 sections to move up and secure the norther side. The other two sections were to supply suppressing fire to the southern side of the bridge. Moving under fire 2 section was the first to reach the entrance to the bridge. Shortly their after 3 section also reached that location. They were held up by a lone rifleman on the south side. Until he was taken out.

"Admiral Trudeau, the Delfians are calling in aid." cried Vice-Admiral Hudson.

The admiral nodded. "Alright, tell the Delfians that the High Seas Fleet is coming."

"But sir, we need to keep some ships behind to continue the bombardment for the Valideen." replied Hudson. "I suggest we take the Inglish Columbia, the Emperor Paul and their escorts."

Trudeau nodded. "Very well Vice Admiral, tell the ships to move out and hurry. We need to get their as fast as we can."

The Canadian flagship and the supercarrier moved to reinforce the Delfians with the best. The High Seas Fleet was known world-wide as the "Undefeated Fleet". They had never seen defeat. The two massive ships and their escorts moved to the northeast in an effort to help their allies.

"Dispatch to Central, request F pattern for our ADL to cover each other's downtime. Tell them we got hostile aircraft operating on Low Observable Nature, and the Air Force should get it's ass off and help us cover the sky."

-----

In the dazzle of the air war happening above, sirens wailed through the many sleeping towns and cities of Valhene. District Guardsmen kissed and said goodbye to their love ones and headed to their Assembly Grounds. Many watched the war unfold on their televisions, many yelling in anger at the trespasses of the foreigners. The late night soon turn into a frenzy of excitement and pandemonium, as people trumped through the starts at 4 am in the morning as if it was the afternoon. "Not one inch of Valhene" became the slogan of these patriots; a promise they all intend on keeping.

The enemy bombardment of the main military arsenals left 10,000 Army regulars understrength. They were immediate sent to the emergency underground arsenals of West Valhene by rail and trailer trucks on order of General Vassa. The local District Guardsmen kept their equipment at home, hence were better prepare at the moment. They will join the 55,000 Army regulars of the formidable 6th Republican Army in the beach defense of East Valhene.

Over the sky, the Air Force barely bravely held off the score of enemy fighters invading their airspace, and shot down those that were returning after they had defile their homeland. Any enemy sortie that slipped through was left to the highly trained and integrated Patriot mobile air defense and land based CIWS. From West Valhene, fighters of the elite Black Sparrow squadron launched an attack on the flanks of the invasion fleet. The bulk of the Canadian Fleet presented a large target, their anti-ship missiles had no problem locking onto warships, intended or not. A local fighter squadron joined in the attack, taking out pesky Delfian AWACS with anti-EC missiles.

As the Validians approached with their landing craft, they found themselves under the fire of mobile Dysaniian artillery from shore. Cluster shells dropped from the sky, scattering dozens of mini-explosive warheads over the area. Men were ripped to pieces when a random warhead dropped into their craft and exploded. That was not the last of it, the Dysaniian defense had other weapons in their arsenal for the situation. 3,000 lb Wavemakers launch from bombers created large shockwaves that swept across the sea surface, capsizing any landing craft within the blast radius. If they survive that, they will be facing concrete bunkers armed with 30mm cannons design to penetrate any landing craft armor and kill those hiding behind it.

OOC: I havn't commenced the Beach landings yet. Only the Airborne, hence the battle at that bridge. Also the majority of my landing craft are also AFV (Advanced Fighting Vehicles) The AAAV and the LAV-T (Both are also equiped with 30mm Cannons). Also a portion of your bunkers are taken out. Remember they have been targeting the beaches.

Also you are putting the majority of your forces inland instead of at the beaches?

"Admiral, enemy ships coming onto radar. They are engaging the Delfian Navy. They will be within cruise missile range in a few minutes, but our fighters can reach them. Shall we open fire?" asked Vice-Admiral Hudson. The task force sent to help the Delfians had arrived just in time to join the battle.

"Vice Admiral, let our fighters fly. We will assist the Delfians and then when our ships come within cruise missile range, open fire. When we are within cruise missile range, switch to evasive manuvers. Understood?"

"Aye, aye, sir." cried Vice-Admiral Hudson. "Let the fighters go. They are to engage the Dysaniian fleet with everything they got."

The men at the controls nodded and made the orders a reality. The Emperor Paul let their fighters go. The fighters gathered into three large wedge formations and flew to the Delfians' aid. The fighters were finally able to engage the Dysaniian Navy. The pilots were surprised at the size of the Dysaniian fleet. It seemed to be a majority of their northern fleet. The squadron leaders called back to the fleet. They all agreed, they might need some more ships. Air Commodore Thomas sent a message to all nearby task forces. "Calling in all ships! We have a large formation of Dysaniian ships cruising at the coordinates Delta Alfa Tango 12. This is to all task forces in the area. Requesting aid!" Air Commodore Thomas couldn't wait for a response, the Canadian task force would be within range in a few minutes and the Delfians were already under fire. "All pilots, prepare to engage Dysaniian ships. Pick your targets and be fast or you'll ahve an anti-air missile in your ass. All fighters, engage, now!" The Canadian squadrons moved in on the Dysaniian ships. They opened up with missiles, but they knew that they would need ships to defeat this fleet.

ooc: We attacked the beginning of the peninsula, you are defending whole way from west to east?

ic: somewhere in the blockade...
"Prepare the missiles, we need this going before anything, the targets are set for Patriot Radar Truck with enough radius to blow everything else nearby."
"And the civilians?"
"As far as we know this is a full militarized area, we're targeting military targets."
"Alright, all missiles set."
"Green for missiles."
In the extent of missile frigates in the blockade, all fired against the remaining defenses.

*Flying Circus*
Sugar1: "Elephant, confirm enemy missile coming this way."
Elephant4: "Ah...yes, but it's impossible we're too far from the land, no worries, those missiles can only go at max 160km it will soon stop in the air. We already have our own ones launched to destroy those bastards."

*Nutcracker*
"We have confirmed help from the Canadians, we sure need help, those guys have put NDS June on fire."
"Fire we have the choppers ready."
"Alright, throw the choppers at them."
Several Delfian choppers lifted from the support ships. Fully equipped with Anti-Ship missiles. For the support, every ship with missiles targeted AA missile systems from the Dysanii Northeast Fleet.

"Oscar, we have the ship in range, SAM Launch! Defensive maneuvers!"
"Lets get on with it chaps, fire Exocet!"
From the several hovering choppers going the fleet's way, anti-ship missiles were dropped and ran towards the ships.
"They have AA cannon firing at us."
"Aw! I'm hit!" *The helicopter started smoking on the tail, the pilots heard a noise of the rotor going loose.* "Argh! I'm going down!"
"Jump for your mother's sake!"
The helicopter landed on the water smashing one of the crew members that fell off. The other could escape the helicopter, but now in high seas an evac team had to pic them up.
"Confirming hits..."
"Mine hit, i see several blasts, 2 ships sinking."
Nutcracker: "Hold on, we've sent a chopper to get you guys in the ocean."
"NDS Monett is a missile target!"
"Fire guns and missiles at remaining ship on the west!"
"Firing."
"The crew is jumping over board, well done, but we need to refill you choppers before we continue, we have several over ships inbound, destroyer bearing 176 is the closest target, lets hope those Canadians do their part."

They were moving unopposed as their was a steady slow rate of fire coming from across the river towards the objective.

ooc: My launchers and radar move around at random intervals and at separate times, usually half an hour to two hours.

The Dysanii AA Vanguard counters with CIWS and AA missiles, attempting to sweep the enemy aircraft away before they could launch their weapons. The sea was flooded with the streaks of smoke trail and and tracer rounds. A grand battle had began...

On board a Dysanii vanguard warship, the AA frigate Last Hope face the on coming hail of enemy missiles and aircraft. Explosion dot the surface ahead of the ship as another cruise missile is taken out by the bow CIWS. Smoke fingers out from midship as the automatic defense systems fire off Standard missiles and Sparrows at out of sight enemy aircraft and cruise missiles. Alarms blare throughout the combat hub inside the ship, as one missile after the next comes and goes. But on they press, they had to, they were charge with leading the vanguard AA section to clear enemy aircraft for the main fleet.

"Captain! The Esar has been hit by a Exocet to the bow! They are taking in water!"
"Tell the bridge to bank formation starboard to clear the dead hull! Ensign Baltis, notify search and rescue!"
"Yes, Sir!"
"Sir! Getting data from scout ships! Loading data on all enemy ships!"
"Scout ships are being fire upon! The corvette Tojo had been hit by two Exocets! The Hawk Fire just sunk!"
"Main enemy formation 51 km away! Sentry-1 and Sentry-2 has enter battle zone, we have Airborne Telemetry!"
"Tell the main fleet to pick up the pace! Notify the formation to stand ground, we need to hold this position till it gets here!"
"Main Fleet is 25 km away! They will reach firing position in 5 minutes! Clarifying surface radar datalink to them!"
"We must hold this position at all cost! Even if we run out of missiles, I want this ship to take as many hits as it can! For the Republic!"
"For the Republic!"

Dysaniian Fleet Flagship, Partisan

"Destroyers in firing formation! The AA vanguard and Sentry AWACS is giving us full target resolution! We can't miss!"

Admiral Shevac gave out a malevolent laugh. "GIVE THE ORDER TO FIRE! CONCENTRATE TEN MISSILES PER SHIP! I WANT THEM TO BURN TO THE WATERLINE!"

"Yes Sir! Destroyers 1 to 25, fire Harpoons at overbear intervals! For the Republic!"

What the naive Delfian pilots fail to understand was that in a effective air defense system, launchers and radar is always kept separate. The launcher is also always place closer to the target area. While the radar may detect and track the aircraft at 160km away, the launcher may be several kilometers ahead, giving it's missiles a head start and a nasty surprise for the foolish pilots. With the Patriot's track-via-missile capabilties, the enemy had no escape.

"Tracking, RAD-22 and RAD-23 has them, Flame Tail Engage! Flame Tail 6 and 8, take their 3 o'clock."

"AA ordnance armed and ready to kick ass! Awaiting engagement order!"

"Flame Tail 2, we have Patriot missiles inbound for targets, suggest we wait out the fight."

"Roger, full afterburners ladies, we'll pick up what's left of the prey! Active radar off till we hit weapons range, fly with passive sensors and datalink!"

"Let's help these lost strangers find their way to Hell!"

"All ships open fire!" ordered Admiral Trudeau. The ships rocked as cruise missiles opened up on the Dysaniian task force. He turned to Hudson. "Vice-Admiral, get down to the communications bridge and find out when the rest of the High Seas Fleet will be here." Hudson saluted and left. Admiral Trudeau looked on as flashes of light on the horizens announced the destruction of Dysaniian ships. The sea battle had been raging for over an hour with Dysaniians fighting Canadian and Delfian task forces closing on all sides. An ensign looked up quickly.

"Sir, enemy missiles on our trajectory!"

Admiral Trudeau nodded. "Anti-missile batteries, fire!" The anti-missile batteries opened up on the enemy missiles. But they didn't get all. One was able to get through and slammed just below the bridge. The front end of the bridge was ripped from the ship, while the explosion hit everything else. Vice- Admiral Hudson felt an earthquake and a loud boom when he was in the communications room. "Oh my god." He ran out to the deck and saw the bridge of the great battleship destroyed. "Admiral Trudeau. No." He looked around. Fire crews were trying to stop the fires, while medical teams were helping the wounded. He rushed back into the communications room. He picked up the headset. "This is Vice-Admiral Hudson, Admiral Trudeau is dead. I am in command of the fleet. Swing this fleet to the north and give the enemy a broadside." Agknowlagments were heard, then he switched over to the rest of the High Seas Fleet. "This is Vice-Admiral Hudson, where are you?"

"This is Rear-Admiral Calloway, we are within fighter range and will be in cruise missile range in five minutes."

"Alright, you are to meet up with the rest of the fleet and we will fully engage the Dysaniian fleet with everything we have." He hung up and went to the secondary bridge. This bridge wasfilled with replacements of those lost in the main bridge. "Follow the fleet, hit them with eerything, now."

**Alpha Beach**

The first LAV-T of the First wave of the invasion was now 100 meters out. They were under fire from Machine Guns but the bullets of the 7.62mm and 5.56mm (ooc: assuming you are using weapons that use NATO rounds) were just bouncing off the hull like rain drops. As it came in closer, just 50 meters out and the tracks still hadn't gripped anything. The first LAV-T rocked violently to the side as a 105mm artillery shell landed in the water just 10 meters to its right. "Holy fuck," said a Marine who was almost thrown out of his seat.

A larger explosion was heard when a 155mm shell landed just two meters away from a AAAV, it caused that vehicle to capsize in 8 meters of water. The crew wouldn't survive.

They were ten meters out and finally the first landing vehicle got some traction, and it opened up with its stabilized 30mm gun. When it reached the sand and rocks of the beach, the back door opend but the vehicle didnt stop. as the ramp lowered the Marines inside ran out and then followed the vehicle as cover. All kinds of death were raining down from the surviving pill-boxes and nests. Many in the first wave became pinned down when their landing vehicles became immobilized due to mines and artillery, and even anti-tank rockets blasting down upon them.

The Second Wave Was Approaching.

**November Beach**

Something had happened. Be it the current, or bad intelligence, but the Beach they landed on only had a very few pillboxes, armed with small caliber machine guns. The LAV Commanders didn't see fit to disembark their infantry on the beach. The LAV-Ts and AAAVs layed down all kinds of death upon the defenders of November Beach. They pushed inland.

"RESISTANCE AT 11!" yelled on the boat, "We need close support on B Sector, infantry units and vehicles, over."
"NDS Vladimir task force, commence fire."

Several missiles flew blowing several vehicles including mechanized units. They had mounted surprisingly fast a missile coast defense, they were now firing at the first ships they met.
"TOW on our way! JUMP OUT!" *BOOM* The Fuzileiros where projected away of the boat that was now in flames.
"Fire your own stuff for your mother's sake or we'll have to swim to shore!"
"NDS Vladimir III, we have confirmation on targets, please we need support!"
"NDS Vladimir III copy, firing artillery artillery and missile, over."

Like a rain of firepower the coast was once more hit. It was obvious the big destruction from the earlier air attack.
"B Sector left flank landing! Engaging!"
"Right there, machine-gun."
"Granada!"
"Fire fire fire!"
After five minutes of landings and constant fire.
"Stop firing you assholes, they're dead, move on!"

The First wave was pinned down by Dysanii Soldiers who were in underground bunkers that were missed by the Busters. Many of the LAV-Ts and AAAVs were knocked out. The second wave of Marines were approaching the shore. In the second wave the Marines were brining ashore Tanks, Leopard 2A5s were being brought up in LCTs.

"Ok, get me a radioman," up came running a signaler. "Beach secure, bring in the beasts. send it."

The Signaler pressed the PTT switch, "Papa Zero Fife  Ninner, this is November Xray Zulu Golf, message over."

"Fife Ninner, send over."

"Zulu Golf, Hockey Puck, over,"

"Fife Ninner, Hockey Puck, over."

"Zulu Golf, Hockey Puck Now, out."

"Sir, they are sending in the LCTs and the Landing ships."

"Roger."

**Alpha Beach**

"GO! GO! GO!" yelled a warrant right before he took off running towards teh break wall.

Dozens of Marines followed him. Some were cut down by rifle and machine gun fire, the rest made it.

With tanks on the beach they were coming closer to silencing opposition. Fighters were flying sorties further inland at artillery and known enemy armour positions.

As they moved up the beach more guns became quite, as more and more troops pured ashore.

They got word that November Beach had called in Hockey Puck. Hopefully they would be able to do the same before the hour was out.

"Landing Operation Commander to Nutcracker, over..."
"Here Nutcracker, I'm listening."
"Operation is a success, all sectors have been captured."
"Good! Great Job, set defensive perimeter, the heavy landing has disembarked in the northeast, they will soon meet with you."

"Do they mean the tanks are coming?"
"How do i know? Do we even have any tanks here?"
"I don't think so, but we can land the rest of the vehicles."
"Yes do so, these aren't enough for the perimeter, I need all AA vehicles spread with individual teams, backed with operation units for land defense, and we need to mount the COM center there behind that hill, it's too risky here."

"Sir! Here's a civilian mayor asking to speak with you..."
"Send him in."
"Hello, I'm mayor of this area, I'm here to demand you to go away with yours troops."
"Nice try, We can't move from here, I'm sorry, please transmit every civilian under your area to remain calm and indoors, please respect what we're trying to do here."
"How can we respect?! You're invading our lives with guns and violence."
"It was your government who started the guns and violence, we're ending it."
"You...! I want your guns out!"
"We will go home and leave your alone whenever your government stops screwing things in Canada. Private, escort this gentleman out, give him one of those pamphlets."
"Will do sir."

The heavy landing fleet had some hard time to land on the northeastern part of Valhene. After the quick response from the Canadian High Seas fleet helping the Delfian and Valideen fleets to clean the northeastern part, the landing commenced after a short Fuzileiros mission.

"Move those vehicles out of here, I want all armored patrols to be in effect in five minutes!"
"Yes sir! But we can only see civilians southwards, shall we take defensive positions before or after that urban area?"
"Before, and after, just give me a solid defense on that part while the rest moves around the coast to destroy AA and AS systems."

***B sector***
"Gather the men of Beta Company for the afternoon's patrol."
"Another patrol?"
"Yes we need to check some areas in the east."
"What's the support?"
"Support? You'll be taking 1 APC and 1 Tungunska, isn't that more than enough?"
"Alright, I'll tell the men."

"We're moving east, there's some buildings they want us to check."
"Don't they have anyone else?"
"If they do, they rather us to do the job."
"INCOMING!"
*BOOM*
"Damn Dysanii, damn this hell hole. Anyone hurt?"
"No sir, it hit the truck on the plaza."
"They might have thought it was UAV truck. We'll be taking one with us, logistics officer."
"Alright, lets move then."

*

"Sir i see some vehicles down there..."
"Ah...I see them. Seems to be a couple of howitzers and a dragonfire...probably the cause of the trouble we're having. Pin them and send the coordinates."
"Roger, I also see some movement coming our way, a jeep and some infantry i guess."
"No problem, prepare the PzF3..."
"Set..."
*vruuummm the jeep cornered around a building and was surprised by a welcome committee. The rocket hit the front of the car and most of the occupants were projected out of the vehicle.*
"Jeep hit, infantry 9 o'clock."
*The incoming infantry were a bit more cautious.*
"Granada!"
"Suppressing fire!"
"Move move move!"
*The squad quickly flanked the infantry. There was an abandoned house with the doors and windows nailed, moving through the garden the squad quickly positioned behind the enemy firing squad, waiting for everyone to be settled down with sights aiming to the other guys.*
"Wait, wait...prepare the grenades...now."
"Granada!" *yelled two or three guys in a row.*
"Fire!"
*The grenades did most of the job, after some shots and machinegun help, the squad leader asked for a cease of fire.*
"Cease fire, cease fire dammit!"
"Sorry sir, we were on a mood."
"Don't waste ammo for your mother's sake! ALFA CLEAR!"
"BETA CLEAR!"
"medic...I'm hit!"
"Ah...Sergio, we need to evac you. You, ask for a jeep to take him to base."
*Suddenly some fire were heard less than a kilometer away.*
"INCOMING!"
*The dragonfire had his way, they were in the open without any protection, hoping it wasn't the end of them, the squad leader started yelling about cover.*
"Find cover! Find cover!"
*boom, boom, BOOM, BOOM*
"Anyone hit?"
"One hit, but he's gone sir."
"We should move quickly, get those MILAN up on that rooftop, the rest follow my lead, and you two ask for the armored support to come."

Some troops tried to force in a locked vacation house. It was really locked, kicks weren't enough.
"We don't have all day, I found some stairs on the back of the house."
*After cornering to go up again some close fire made the front guy's blood splatter on the walls and his friend.*
"Shit!" *In an adrenaline moment he cornered his Xavy and fired everything he could, watching a dysanii falling and another dropping his rifle.*
"Damn...WE go on front, do not even let your guard down, seems this area is well crowded."
*after getting 3 men on the front with assault rifles they started to move slowly scanning the building and sweeping any corner, he took his silenced Viking out and tried to find any other...on the 3rd and last floor he spotted a guy very concerned with the back door, probably because even himself could hear the delfian on the other side, he approached and put a bullet on the head.*
"Gary?" *The delfian soldier freezed* "Gary?" *Some dysanii was calling for his lost friend, probably not knowing his condition* "Gary? Are you there?" *some footsteps* "I'm going to check on Gary, keep targeting those delfians on the other side of the road, i don't think those know we are here." *Silenced ambushers perhaps, some sniper and assault teams around the area...but would the others know they were being targeted? I need to move fast! Gary's friend moved towards the doorway and suddenly stopped, probably seeing Gary on the floor. He crossed the doorway with his rifle on the shoulder. -PAF- a shot through his torso, he had armor, -PAF- through his head. His rifle fell to the floor and the delfian solider cursed the gods for the noise the rifle did when hit the ground. Took his Xavy from the back and prepared for a quick close combat assault. When he reached the doorway he saw a small corridor with two doors, he ran to the one that had light, he saw a sniper laying down near the balcony.
"RELEASE YOUR FINGER! DROP YOUR WEAPONS NOW!"
*several other delfian soldiers erupted from the back door*
"You heard him, roll out of your position!"
*the sniper rolled away from the sniper rifle, had quite a few grenades and a 92FS pistol. A delfian soldier quickly disarmed him and another put PlastiCuffs on the snipers' wrists.*
"Report, we've found good resistance in the building, they probably have several buildings occupied with small forces, half a dozen soldiers including snipers, it seems your squads were being targeted by a sniper here, we have him as POW now."
"Oh thank you, we were really frustrated having casualties coming from nowhere. We'll be more cautious with buildings, I'll send your report to the command center. Have you set up those AT rockets?"
"Doing it right now sir, see you soon."
*After giving some time to the specialized AT units to set up their rockets on the rooftop he gave the order to shoot down the vehicles on sight. Thankfully, the dragonfire was first, then an howitzer but the other one was hidden.*
"Sir we don't have a visual on the last howitzer..."
"Let us take care of it. BETA and Alfa, move fast, we need to capture the vehicle ahead, check all windows and balconies from the buildings, we have reports of snipers and hidden enemy squads."
*There were no surprises, they captured a small surviving crew that was running away from their positions after the others being shoot down by rockets.*
"Set a defensive perimeter while we scan for more defenses."
"Roger."
"Sir I see some far away targets, we would be reaching them at night..."
"We better call off the day...lets just sweep all buildings in this hill for enemy squads"

"Move, Move, Move!" yelled 2 L.T. Nash as he lead a platoon through the streets of a Dysanii town.

A machine gun opened up down the street. Everyone scattered to the sides of the road, two bodies lye in the middle, both were shot by the Dysanii Gun Position. Rifles at the front opened up but everyone was pinned down by the MG.

Soon the familiar squeaking sound of tank tracks could be heard. A squadron of Valideen Leopard 2A6 tanks cleared out of the edge of a forest and drove right on up to the position of the infantry. The bullets pinged, bounced, and smashed into the armored beast. The Turret rotated, the gun raised ever so slightly. *BANG!* smoke flowed out towards the infantry as a streaking red hot round slammed in to the building the Machine Gunner was in, soon it was ablaze with fire and collapsing down on its self.

"Come on 2 Platoon, lets move!" Everyone got up and started proceeding down the street.

ooc: I will bring a quick end to things in my sector.

By the time news of the coup had reached the high command of Valhene, the Allied invasion had already swept through West Valhene and continue to press on the offensive. It was only discover then that the those involve in the coup had provided the Delfian and Validish invaders with information regarding the position and communication codes of the Valhene district army, effectively crippling the compromised defenders and forcing General Louis and his army to retreat to the refuge of East Valhene. The promised reinforcements from the central districts never came, and the coup leader were quick to cut off power and fuel to the Valhene forces. After a few more days of sludging against the invaders with mixed results, General Louis order a ceasefire on all fronts, to minimize the casualties of his men and compatriots.

He however, will not surrender Valhene to the Allies. Defeated or not, Valhene was still Dysaniian in heart and mind, and they will stand up to maintain their independence. The betrayal of Central Command left a lump of hot lead in his stomach, as with other Valheners. Dysanii was now open to the jaws of foreign dogs to tear piece by piece. While the Republic was no more, Valhene and his supporters saw the chance to create a new Republic in their domain. If they can garner up a political position in Valhene, they could salvage whatever independence and autonomy they had left and prevent Valhene from being turn into a colonial extension of a foreign power.

With that in mind, General Louis established the Free Valhene Movement, comprised of his general staff and several local politicians of East Valhene. Within a week and a half of sketchy campaigning, five major cities and thirty-two towns had sign up to the Free Valhene League on the basis of general vote. The creation of the Valhene Republic was underway. Through use of radio broadcast and local press, FVM shouted out their agenda to local citizens and the international community.

They will resist not with arms, but with the voice of the people. The battle has just began...

Valideen troops swept down the western coast of Dysanii, meeting little to no resistance. More and more troops were being brought in from Validus to assist in this occupation. and soon they were sweeping accross the whole of Dysanii to link up with Canadian Troops, who had halted at a line predetermined by each nations leaders.

It had been three weeks since the invasion commenced, the the Supreme commander was incredibly happy with the result. They had entered City after City, town after town, village after village, and did not have to fire a shot. The people werent resisting, or so they could see.

With the influx of nearly 200,000 more troops from Validus the Occupation force now numbered in 423,000 Valideen Ground troops, This was a Mixture of Regular and Primary Reserve forces. At home, the government had called up the Secondary Reserve, more commonly called the Ready Reserve, to act as the home gaurd.

Soon a single message was being played over the airways, "We are here to rebuild and help the people. Do not resist."

Jean looks at the ruffled and ruined state of his second floor office. Papers were spilled everywhere and his computer had been thrown onto the ground. Behind him, there was a hole in the door, where the door knob should had been. Most likely, the perpetrators had manage to get into by knocking out the old knob with a good hit from a rifle butt.

For the second time this week, Validean soldiers had broken into his press office and attempt to sabotage his local newspaper operation. Once again, he will need to stay the night to clean up. It seem that some of the Validean officers weren't too please about him writing articles vying against them. Too bad for them, free press will stay here whether they want it or not.

Jean walks over to his cracked computer case. It was an DAS 328, old by today's standards, but it gets the typing done. Correction, got the typing done. He bents down and pops out the Dip disk from the 328. Good thing he saves his files, he will finish this week's publication on his home computer.

The door of the office suddenly opens, and a young man in a black coat walks in. The man swears as the tatter office comes into full view.

"Jergen crackers, what the hell happen?"
"Break in Sam, break in."
"By who?"
"Who else?"
"Whatever happen to the sanctity of private property?"
"Probably doesn't exist in Validus, come on in sit down. Watch your steps."

Sam tip toes past the minefield of papers, and finds a seat in the back of the room, an antique mahogany chair by the window. "I see they didn't take my favourite chair, they're not complete douche bags it seems..." Sam half jokes.

Jean lifts his useless computer off the floor, and carries it outside, placing it somewhere in the long corridor for the old caretaker to throw out tomorrow morning. He walks back into the office, steps on a few pens and notes before dropping into his seat at his desk.

"So what do you have for me today?" he asks as he leans back on his chair.

"Well, other than that little incident last night where a bunch of off-duty Valideans messed around in the theater at Oak Street, I heard Barkerfield just voted into the League. Cooperson and Anila have their ballot set for next week, I expect them to follow suit. All round good news, except a few misdemeanors with press oppression...like the case we have here."

"That sounds like good news. I believe the Valies won't mind if I write something other than them tattling with the business of our local entertainment establishments, a front page cover on the FVM. Sounds good?"

Sam grinned. "You're the writer, I'm just your info rat."

"Still a little etchy after they kick you out from your writing position back in Hillside Times?"

"I quitted. It appeared my boss had something against me doing a piece on the inadequate sources of Hillside. Well, that's all pass and gone. I'll be off to pick up a donut at Hammy and Tea. Be back in ten minutes to help you clean up."

"I appreciate it."

"Just don't forget to write my paycheck Jean, you know how I'm looking forward to that trip to Aiko Odori."

"Won't dare, not on my life."

"How about on the Republic?"

"I'm not that positive I can make your due."

"You bastard."

Republic Has a Second Chance!

FVM Delegate to IPO Reveals

The Republic might just get second chance of life, as talks in the armistice room reveals new compromises to the situation of our nation. The Canadians appear to be willing to leave with only a fractional western acquisition, far from the total annexation fear by many the day the war ended. That leaves a sizable portion of the Republic left, more than enough for the continue survival of our nation!

To add to that good news, we have further information that the International Peace Organization is pressing for an independent Dysanii. That ought to keep the imperialists back a bit. Many local citizens already agree, Dysanii might just survive this armistice with their autonomy intact and their homes free of the portraits of Queenie Aly!

In order to make sure this new development is a sure thing, the FVM has already changed its agenda and name to the Free Republic Movement. Word is FRM members are already setting off to central and eastern districts to garner up a base for resisting further occupation and reinforcing a independent Republic. Five other groups have also join in the effort, including the Hendelle Independence Club and the Blue Patriots, major political figures with huge support in the Republic. Good luck to them and good luck to our fellow patriots across the Republic.

"So Jim, I want you to set up road check points, here, here, and here." said Major Henson of the 48th Highlanders. "We have word that resistance groups are beginning to moralize support, so we need to stop this. We don't want this to turn into a pit, eh."

"Yes, sir."

**Highway 9**

"So, Sarge, why they got us out here?" asked Private Pickton.

"You know better then to ask questions Private, besides didn't you listen to the brief?"

"Not, gonna lie sarge, I didnt get much sleep the night before last."

"Party?" asked the Sarge with a grin on his face.

"Sarge, why I never," said Pickton jokingly.

Master Corporal Winfrey was manning the front position, "Stand up everyone, we got a convoy of vehicles heading our way."

Photographer Hilary Jacksen was in the back of his boyfriend's car when suddenly traffic stopped. Looking out the window, she could see that the cars in front had completely stop, even though it was a three lane highway.

"What the hell? Did they bombed the Interstate?" his boyfriend, Shaun cried out. "Stay inside, I'm gonna check it out."

"I'm coming."

The couple got out from their Dissan Errol and walked up through the spacing of the lanes. Hilary had her job camera in her hands, ready to take whatever snapshot she needed for a scoop. Behind and in front, other drivers had also gotten out of their cars to see the reason for the stall. A couple hundred feet up the road, they soon noticed several armor cars and a group of soldiers blocking off the Interstate. Valideans...

A middle age man was up in front, shouting at the soldiers.

"Hey buddy, this is a fucking Interstate highway. You can't just block it off. I got a job meeting in two hours and I need to get to Yonde by then. So how about getting your shit off this road. Your not helping anyone here."

Already, several other motorists had join in badgering the foreigners. A blaze of car horns penetrated the air, calling for traffic to resume to it's normal pace. Excited children cry out from their back seat windows. A few truckers were swearing out from their 8 wheelers.

From a distance, Hilary began taking shots of the whole commotion. What a scoop. Valhene Gazzelle will definitely be grabbing for these photos.

"Honey, I think we should get back to the car," Shaun nervously said.

"Just a few more..."

"By order of the Regional Commander, we are here to search vehicles for weapons and explosives. We will try to be as quick as we can but remember this is for your safety. Do not resist as we have the authority to detain you. If you co-operate with us this will only take a few moments. Please be patient," Corporal Inisfill waved the first vehicle into the checkpoint.

"Bullshit you do. Get the fuck off the road now. This isn't your country, this is ours."

The blow of horns increased, and people began to shout out slurs and swears to the soldiers to get off the Interstate. Pandemonium was beginning to arise, and the crowd grew restless.

"Get off the road!"
"Come on! I got my niece's birthday party to get to!"
"I'm gotta be stuck here all night if you don't move your asses!"
"For the Republic!"

"Okay, we're getting back to the car now," Shaun exclaimed, pulling on his girlfriend to move back.

"No, this is just starting."

"Hilary, get back to the car now. It's getting too rowdy, please."

She hesitated, but then changed her mind. She slung the camera back on her shoulders, and jogged back towards the car with Shaun. A woman in business outfit cried out from her car as they pass. "What's going on up there?"

"Road block, Vallies are blocking off the road. And a lot of people are....piss." The atmosphere was getting tense, and Hilary could feel things were going to be ugly.

A standoff had developed at the road block between agitated motorist and the soldiers.

"Get off the road now. You have no right to block off OUR roads," a college student in front exclaimed.

More motorists from the back of traffic began coming up, swarming the mob that had rose up in defiance of the invaders. Some spitted at the ground the soldiers stood while others formed a human wall facing the blockade. A young man waved a Dysaniian flag up on the hood of his car.

"Either you move, or we'll make you move..."

"Get the tear gas," said 2LT Majors, quietly, to Warrant Casey.

Four troops went into the back of a LAV-III, they came out with four tear gas launchers. Soon the 2LT was back on the bull horn. "Stop this disorder or we will use tear gass to disperse you." All of Majors' troops had their gas masks in there carriers hanging of their side. "You have 15 minutes, to orderly start moving through the checkpoint."

"Sir, the Delfians are on the Radio, they can send in some units to help," said  Corporal Mackage.

"Bring them in Corporal,"

Suddenly, the wail sirens broke out. From a distance, the lights of law enforcement vehicle came into view. Three highway patrol cars sped along the emergency lane, stopping several yards away from the blockade. Uniformed officers walked out from the car and paced calmly through the parting crowd.

"Alright everyone, cool it. Back to your cars," shouted out the officer in front. The crowd died down in volume, but held their sway.

"Morning officer," said the middle-age man from before.

"Good morning," the officer replied back. All eyes were on them as the platoon of officers stepped in front of the soldiers.

The head officer scanned the array of the Validean road block, noting the armor cars and the military uniform of each Validean. He took off his sunglasses coolly and place them into his chest pocket.

"Gentlemen, I'm gonna have to ask you to remove your vehicles and selves off this highway. Under 1978 Highway Act, Section A, paraphrase 2.11, you are violating the "no non-emergency obstruction of public Interstates by vehicle or personnel" regulation as define by Valhene State Congress. Under the power vested in me as Highway Patrol Officer by our executive legislation, I will have to arrest and charge you if you do not comply."

The officer spoke with amazing calmness and control. He and his colleagues stood their ground, despite being outnumber by the Valideans. From behind, applause and cheers broke out, rooting the heroic action the highway patrol officers were taking.

The head highway officer grinned. "So what is it gonna be gentlemen..."

The officer held his ground.

"I repeat again, remove yourselves from this highway. We may have lost the war, but we haven't lost the country."

The cheering grew louder and louder, soon the mob began singing the "Aemilius Chorus", a well known patriot song, in unison. The sing broke into the morning silence, stirring up emotion and pride.

Following the highway patrol cars, came the vans of media stations from radio, newspapers, and television. Reporters jumped out from them, follow by their camera crew from the back. A reporter and her crew brushed past Shaun's car, where Hilary was taking zoom shots of the standoff from the roof.

"This is Anisha Vala of VVT News, what's happening behind right now is a heroic stand by Highway Patrol officers of Department 88, backed by the fervor of motorists numbering in the hundreds. It all began when commuters and motorists came upon this Validean roadblock early this morning, blocking traffic and insisting unwarranted search. We here at VVT will be monitoring the situation live..."

Hilary got off the roof of the car, and burrowed through the open window of the car.

"Shaun, hand me another roll of film..."

"Here."

"Thanks honey..."

"Be careful..."

Hilary scurry up onto the car roof once again with her camera. Focusing onto the soldiers hiding behind the armor cars, a few which seem to be wielding tube launchers. They appear to be getting nervous. Hilary didn't blame them, more motorists seem to be joining their compatriots at the front as news of the standoff spread along the stalled highway.

General Currie was sitting in his new office in the former state capital building in North Acadia. He was only recently appointed to the office of Governor-Militant of the Occupational Government of Acadia. North Acadia, South Acadia and Munster Isle in the Great Lake had all been occupied and currently administered by the Canadian Army until the referendum by IPO was brought up. The general was watching T.V. when something caught his eye. It was hundreds of motorists and Highway Patrolmen standing their ground against Valideen soldiers. He laughed. Admiral Hudson walked as he laughed.

"What's so funny, Governor-Militant?" asked Hudson.

General Currie stood up and saluted the Admiral of the Fleet, highest ranking officer in the Canadian Navy. "This. The Valideen are having problems with the Dysaniians. Look, they are blocking off a road, and the motorists and highway policemen are holding their ground. They say that Delfians are coming to back the Valideen up."

"Makes you thankful that we disbanded the Dysaniian police forces in our area. Well, the Valideen will be able to stop this riot." said the admiral with a smile. "Well, the Acadians were always good-mannered to us."

General Currie looked at the T.V. "Have there been any problems with the populace lately here?"

"No, the curfews and the Canadian soldiers are keeping everything in order. The Acadians are getting ready for the referudum and we are confidant that they will choose to become a self-ruling dominion of the Empire. The IPO will be starting it soon. But, there have been reports of raider attacks on a community of Acadians called Aunis. They have set up a small militia army to counter the raiders, but the raiders are ex-Federal soldiers. They use hit and run attacks and then when they take what they need, they flee back into the swamps that they have taken to hiding."

"What do they take?"

The Admiral pulled out a list. "This is a list of everything they have taken. Mostly supplies like food and medical supplies, but also a large amount of weapons and ammunition. We believe that the raiders want to start a resistance movement."

"Alright Admiral, send as many soldiers as you think the Acadians will need and send someone to lead them into the swamp and crush all resistance. Understood?"

"Yes, Governor-Militant."

The delfian patrol squads had to make some turns to get in the highway, they saw the Valideen forces ahead and couldn't believe the chaos out there.
"Paulo, see if there's a megaphone back there."
"Ah yes, I believe there's a megaphone in every Puma in the utility box."
"Thank god, pass me it."

"We were just about to give them one more warning. HQ has told us to stand our ground. We have a company of Mechs coming in, they are 20 kilometers out, so it will take them about 30 minutes to get here, we just got to make sure everything is underhand untill then. How many men do you have?" Asked 2LT Majors. He then looked over to one of his Sergeants. "Smith, tell them again."

Sergeant Smith picked up a bullhorn and stood up atop the hull of a LAV-III IFV. "This is your final warning. If you do not disperse or start acting in an orderly manner we will disperse you." A baseball was thrown at the Sergeant, but luckily it hit the LAV's turret and bounced harmlessly away from the troops.

Two helicopters could be seen over top, they were Army Griffon's, Light transport and Recce choppers. These two were armed with a total of four door mounted 7.62mm General Purpose Machine Guns. A voice was heard from one of the helicopters, flying low just off the highway, "By order of the Regional Military Commander and Local Police Commissioner you are to be removed from this highway. Proceed in an orderly manner back to your vehicles. If you resist force may be used. This is your only warning."

2LT Majors looked up at them, sheilding his eyes from the dirt swirling around, "Shit, when the hell did they order that?"

"Sir, I just got it over the net, like right when the Griffons arrived."

Konstantinos and his advisors are aboard the CFS Giorgios, a Collosean frigate. The first of Collosea's contingent were beginning to disembark into Valhene.

"Too bad, all that's left for us now are a few insurgents and non-violent activists," Konstantinos said. He was preparing a message to send back to Collosea outlining what he plans to do and what he needs to get it done. On the top of the list was:

Quote
  • Intelligence officers and special forces to locate and capture one "General Louis Vassa"

<ooc>Just fyi, it may seem like I'm going overboard with the special forces, but the military would be the one to try and capture him  and the special forces are the ones that sneak around :3 </ooc>

Captain Adama was in the front seat of a Puma. It was a convoy of Grizzly APCs, Pumas, and a single Leopard I tank as they were being sent to Aunis to put down raids on the small town. The Captain enjoyed Acadia's natural beauty and thought it was unfortunate that in order for him to have seen it, he had to come with an army during time of war. But now the war is over and he and his compatriots were helping the Acadians destroy a raiding party that keeps hiding in the swamps. Five Grizzlys and and the four Pumas were slowly making their way along the road. The hum of copter rotors in the distance made the Captain look out the window. Four Griffon copters flew above them. They looked to be armed with gatling guns and rockets. Adama also assumed that they were filled with soldiers as well. The armored convoy slowly made its way to Aunis. Adama looked at the map. "Alright we are less then four kilometers away frm Aunis." He breathed in. Though the war was officially over, now it was time to deal with the crime war.

The officers and motorist stood still. They were un-phased by the show of force. This wasn't some backward desert country in the middle of nowhere, this was the democracy of Dysanii. They weren't facing desert nomads riding camels, they were facing educated middle class who knew the importance of liberty and freedom. If they thought a few tanks and helicopters were enough to destroy the spirit of the Republic, they were dead wrong.

"I'm afraid you have no jurisdiction here Vallie. THIS is your last chance. Remove your illegal roadblock, or prepare to face the full force of DYSANIIAN law and order, laws that were created by DYSANIIANS, not some half nut general assembling paper clips five thousand miles away."

The officer pulled out a pair of handcuffs, knowing full well its risk in face of armed-to-the-teeth Valideans. All he did was smiled. He could die right about now, but he knew he needed to send this message to the enemy.

"You can't walk over us! We're voting citizens of Dysanii, a free and strong Dysanii!" yelled out a motorist. Others joined in his statement.

News crew watch in suspense, their cameras recording all that was going on and sending the footage to millions of televisions in Dysanii and abroad.

"It seems that the Valideans are threatening the use of force. I have word that Sheriff Bren has counter with his own ultimatum...the situation can potentially explode into violence if the Valideans open fire. But the patriotic fervor here is incredible, we have motorist singing and shouting out slogans and songs, a clear sign of how strong the spirit of the Republic is...wait...in the distance...yes! We have several more highway patrol vehicles heading towards the road block...making their way along the emergency lane..."

Five Highway Patrol cars came to a stop on the emergency lane. Twelve officers walked out from their vehicles. They waved to their co-officers facing the Valideans before turning to the job at hand. They began herding the front of the mob back.

"Alright, back up! Back up! You can watch, but don't get in the way of danger! Let us handle this!"

The officers kept the restless crowd back, easing the tension of the standoff. For the most part, the mob complied, but they kept stirring out slurs and slogans behind the safety line created by the officers. Above, Validean helicopters flew over the massive crowd, buzzing like annoying mosquitoes.

Sam von Hessian was walking through the streets of Port-Royal with his Dysaniian or in this case, Acadian fiancee, Maggie. Sam was a Canadian veteran of the Great Border War. But after his time in a POW camp and his time in Maggie's family's house, he felt like he had taken on the world and come out burned. Now he was a peace. His finacee holding one hand and his cane in the other. The shot that pierced his leg during the war made him unfit for duty permanantly, so now he was just enjoying his time. Maggie and Sam walked into a grocery store to pick up some food for their new house. The clerk knew he was a Canadian by the color of his jacket. He still wore his blue army jacket as a regular jacket. The clerk smiled and nodded. As Maggie went and got some groceries, Sam talked with the clerk.

"So soldier, where did you get that?" The clerk pointed to his injured leg.

Sam smiled. "I got that crossing the border during the Spring Offensive. I was a sniper for the Canadian Army at the time."

The clerk smiled. "I have a son that was in the Federal Army about your age.  He came back with scars in here." He pointed to his brain. "Memories of things that even I couldn't imagine. Hell, I didn't thin we would be standing with Canadians side-by-side as brothers, instead of enemies."

"Well, war makes crazy things happen. I didn't think I would be marrying a Dysaniian, but I am now." He looked at Maggie. The clerk laughed.

"If this referudum passes, we won't be Dysaniians anymore, we will be Acadians. Personally, I hated the government that sent my son away to war and now I can barely talk to him. Is it true that the Canadian government will let us rule ourselves?"

"I think they would. I can't vote in the referendum, but Maggie and her family is, so maybe we might be seeing more of each other."

"I hope so, soldier. By the way my name's Frank...Frank Willus." The clerk extended his hand.

Sam shook his hand. "Sam von Hessian."

Maggie came up to him and put the groceries on the counter. Frank shook his head. "I can't ask a veteran to pay for his family. This time is for free." Maggie and Sam thanked him and took their groceries. They walked home, enjoying the day as it passed by.

The Great Lake Fleet was laying docked in the harbor of Chadnurdanos, the largest city on the Isle of Munster. The Great Lake Fleet and the Imperial Marines had captured the city not long after the Dysaniians captured Toronto and London. They used the harbor as a base of operations to raid the Dysaniian coast. Deputy Governor-Militant Montcalm was looking out the window of his office. He had to administer the island until the referendum is done. The people on the Isle were pretty friendly to the Canadian Army, but the only thing that seemed to be a problem were the members of the National Army. Montcalm didn't want to start an incident like the Valideen were now having. He wanted to do this as peacfully has possible. The National Army didn't have the strength of the Canadian Army that currently occupied the island, nor had the South Seas Fleet which the Canadian Great Lake Fleet convinsacted just as the war ended. Montcalm looked over reports of the National Army that had organized on the island specifically. They weren't doing acts of terorism or tried to fight the Canadian Army. But Montcalm wasn't going to take that chance though. He picked up his phone.

"Colonel Jackson, I need you to send armoured convoys to the towns where the National Army are and don't let them leave. Don't shoot anyone, but make sure that you are there to make sure that no acts of terrorism or anything of the sort happen. I don't want to kick off another war just because someone got trigger-happy. I will have the Great Lake Fleet patrol the coast and make sure no National Army members arrive from the mainland. Is that understood? Ok, now if you see an act of terrorism, I want you to arrest whoever did it. We have to show these people that we are here to protect them and not hurt them. Now if you are fired upon, defend yourselves and make sure no civilians are injured. We have to follow a shoot-second plicy. Ok? Good. Now go and do it. And send word to the National Army leadership here and tell them I want to talk to them. Perhaps we can find a way of working helping the people here and keep the peace until the referendum happens."

Silva climbed to one of the APC and tested the megaphone,
"The Coalition Forces are responsible for the security of the civilians, no other armed force is allowed into the occupied territory, or to take the authority from our forces. Radio: "Alright, I'll send additional support to continue your patrol and aid you in the transport of those rebel cops."
Silva walked to the Valideen officer again,
"I see we aren't having any further luck than you had, we should just arrest this highway patrol cops and take them to the nearest command center. What method do you rather use? We should just isolate the cops, form a barrier and push them into the Boxers."

2LT Majors was looking annoyed at the 'Police' officer. He looked over at one of his soldiers, "Master corporal take a team and Arrest that man."

"Under what charge shall we place it?"

"Obstruction of the Occupational Authority's Jurisdiction."

"Yes Sir," Master Corporal Issa signaled too a corporal and a private to come over to him. He explained what they were about to do. The three of them walked over to the Officer, "By Order of 2LT Majors, you are here by under arrest for Obstruction of the Occupational Authority's Jurisdiction. Do not resist as this will only add to your charges, you may remain silent, however anything you say will be submitted as evidence." Master Corporal Issa grabbed the Officers shoulder and spun him around so quickly he didn't know what was happening. She grabbed his right hand and twisted it quickly then placed a Zapstrap around it.

The Varkourian task force had finally arrived in Valhene (After a brief stop in New Delfos). Almost 5,000 troops had waved goodbye to their friends and families to be part of this operation and they were all waiting to get off the boats.

Bernard Armange, a combat engineer, had been looking forward to this trip since he finished his training 8 months ago in Picardie, Varkour. A few weeks ago he had not travelled abroad, but now he was seeing the world, just like the brochure promised when he signed up.

"This trip should be a piece of cake, eh?" He said to the man sitting next to him.

"I hope so, I wanna get back in one piece." The man replied. "But don't expect a party, they don't want us here."

"Well, we're here to help..." Bernard said with a smile.

"Of course"

That moment the crowd broke. Just as the Sheriff was grabbed, several motorists rushed out from behind the lines to rescue him. Before the Valideans could pull him away, five motorist already had their grip on the officer, and was pulling the sheriff back. Other officers joined in the tug of war, pushing the Validean away from their sheriff.

"Let him go! Get your filthy hands off of him!" they shouted.

"It seems trouble has broken out! the Valideans tried to capture one of our officers! Motorists have broken the stand and attempting to rescue the officer....this is what I believe to be the broken point of the standoff. This is an unbelievable struggle happening right now...literally hundreds of unarmed citizens and highway patrol officers taking a stand up up against a oppressive military that has cause so much dissatisfaction over the last few weeks..."

"Silva, get your men ready."

"Right-o, men get those cops, ALL of them."
Silva walked to the PRESS staff and they started to move back fearing some retaliation.
"Hey where do you think you're going, get back here."
Silva catched the camerca and pulled the cameraman to him.
"Is my face alright? Hey look, your station logo is felling out, hahaha badly glued new station logo over the old Dysaniian one, you Valhene are pathetic. Anyway, keep filming and record my words, we have responsability to keep the security in this region, to keep the peace at all costs, and this policemen are only making conflicts, actually they are outlawed by occupation law, they are armed and we cannot tollerate that. Any questions?"

The delfian soldiers moved trough the gas with masks with the valideen, the running crowd started to throw rocks at them.
"Watch for those rocks."
They had blocked and surrounded the cops and started to pull civilians out of the closing circle. Most of the cops were lying down trying to resist the tear-gas.
"Grab that dirty face, Hey Marco, get that APC here."
"Get out of the way."
The Boxer was let go in the circle and they started to throw the cops inside.
"Get inside!"
"Fuck you!"
"Get your bloody ass inside."
Delfian soldiers started to pull the cops in the Boxer while others pushed them into another one.
"This one is full, you're free to go."
Moving away from the scene, several soldiers climbed to the APC and checked their Xavies.

"The Valideans have fired off gas canisters! Motorists are running back to their cars!"

"Hilary! Get inside!"

Hilary snaps a shot of the gas cloud building up at the blockade. A few panicking motorists run past her. She slides down the car roof and enters the front passenger seat of the car. Shaun has already pulled out two gas masks from the Home Defense Kit under his seat.

"Stand still," he said, then latches the mask onto her face. He puts on the last one and begins adjusting the filters. Both of them adjusted their breath to the filters while watching pandemonium break out all around them.

"My god, can you believe this?"

"Kinda reminds you of our college days, doesn't it?"

Moments later, motorists were running back the other way, towards the blockade. This time, they had their own gas masks on. It appear to have only ran back to get their gas masks from their Home Defense Kits in their car. This standoff was far from over.

Back in the blockade, the rescuers managed to pry the Sheriff away from the soldiers. The officers took refuge behind the human chain that some returning and masked motorists were forming twenty yards from the blockade.

"Lock your arms together! Lock them up!" yells a motorist through his gas filter. Steadily, they paced towards the blockade while their teared compatriots escaped. The officers ran back to their cars to get their own masks on, then went back to join in the creation of second human chain behind the first.

Again, this time through the muffle of their masks, they began singing the "Aemilius Chorus" once again.

ooc: rofl, nice try. If your "camera crew stand at least thirty yards away behind a swarm of motorists", how do you even get good pictures? What a lousy news reporter and cameraman.

ic: "Those two want to run away."
"Grab them"
"Alright, you're going in."
"Yes, we have all of them, good job."
"The Command Center will have great time to deal with this punks."
Marco contacted the CC: "Fencer1, we have the bandits in, we'll be there in 5 minutes."
Radio: "Good job, bring them in."

Swarms of masked motorists rush to the rescue of anyone who was being detained by the occupational oppressors, pulling and pushing. Despite their efforts, several officers had been pull into waiting trucks. The unarmed motorists began to fight melee to melee with the Valideans using only their fists and legs. a riot had begun.

"Shoot to the air."
*PAF PARARARARAF*
"I'm hit!"
"Bloody flying rocks, hold your ground chaps, reinforcements are going to arrive."
The other APC that was being loaded got attacked by the riot.
"Use the but!"
The delfian soldiers tried to move the motorists away from the APC but they were too many and all pushing. The cops inside released each other from the plastic coufs and pushed the delfian soldiers to the ground, they were automatically attacked by motorists and cops, being kicked around.
"Men down! Move to reque!"
A pack of delfian soldeirs moved to the back of the APC and pushed the cops and motorists away from the beaten delfians, pulled them into the APC and closed the doors.
"Get those ones here in the front, we need cover. Fire that emplaced machine-gun to scare them!"
Radio: "Thirteen Foxtrot incoming, let the water tank pass."
The Thirteen patrol just arrived, they were speciallised army in riots, several of them jumped out the trucks with shields and bastons.
"This shit looks pretty heavy,,,"
"Alright, there's 3 spots, I want you concentrated on the middle, the other two in strategic points, get in there near the valideen, and there near that delfian APC."

The Familary squeek of a tank track could be heard coming towards them.

"Sir, Marco Company has arrived." said Corporal Haider.

"Good," said the 2LT.

A man stepped out of the back of a LAV-III, "Majors, SITREP."

"Sir, the crowed was growing viololent we have detained all but 1 Police Officer, thanks to the Delfosian. I also ordered the dispensing of Tear Gas. Unfortinetly they all apparently have Gas Masks. My guess is they they are crude form of Mask that was rushed into production for some sort of Civil Defence Kit, not unlike the ones sold back home. But since they were at war at the time, they are probably made for the cheep."

"I can see that, quite a thick cloud, I cant even see the end of the LAV at the thick of it." The man looked at the thick cloud of gas then ordered his troops deploy. "Ok, 2LT I am taking command,"

"Yes Captain." Suddenly there was a comotion. "Shit," said Majors as he turned around.

"Marco Company Deploy," the 200 strong Marco Company rushed out of their vehicles to the front.

"Medic......Medic!"
Distinguish delfian accent coming trough the cloud, then two vults appeared, shouting some more,
"Medic!"
They could see Valideen troops ahead, but with the action and the burden they were carrying it was hard to reach them.
"Medic!"
They were both pulling a delfian on the ground, out of the whole noise you could hear his screaming.
"Aaarrghh, my eyes! I can't feel my legs! What's wrong with my legs?!"
"Calm down, I see Valideen troops ahead...Medic here please!"

In the face of force, the motorists fled from the scene, carrying their injured and wounded with them. Through a gap in the highway concrete walls, the cars gradually funnel through, heading away from the scene. Others escaped on foot, and took refuge in the nearby towns along the highway. There, emergency services were swamped with injured, some with severely inflamed lungs and others with broken spinal cords from the massive force of the water bombing used by the Delfians. Across Dysanii and the world, people watch in horror at the closing event.

The Post

Stand for Freedom

The aftermath of last weekend's heroic standoff between unarmed civilians and a group of unarmed highway patrol officers has resulted in massive outcry from the public and garner majority support for the Free Republic Movement. Over two hundred motorists were injured after soldiers attempt to force people into complying with their demands, including four tragic deaths of citizens involved in the standoff. Jack Henderson, 42, died when a water bombing by Delfian aircraft fractured his spinal cord. Elisha Genny (34) and Elric Farblen (51) died when tear gas sparked their heart condition, resulting in a heart attack that killed each during the initial tear gas attack. Helren Riaco, a college student from Barkerville, was killed when a stray machine gun bullet punctured his skull. Dozens of similar critical injuries were admitted by local hospitals as well. Funeral service for those that died in the line of protest will be hosted by the Mayor of Yonde, who son was injured when tear gas triggered his asthma.

The standoff has serve as a major symbol of peaceful resistance against the occupational forces as well as the symbol of a enduring democratic tradition in Valhene and the Republic. The standoff has inspired many dissatisfied citizens to take to the streets in droves, calling for independence and the removal of the oppressive invaders.

FRM's head chairman Louis Vassa, the now famous former State Guard general, has call forth his fellow compatriots to rally together in non-violent protests against the invaders. He denounced the actions of Validean and Delfian troops, as a trespass against the liberty and rights of Dysaniians. Several other political figures issued similar speeches, including the Mayor of Anila, who has issued a bold demand for all Validean soldiers to remove their presence from his city. Many more protest by citizens are taking place around Valhene and oversea, using last night's standoff as an example in their cause. The standoff has been named as "The Standoff of Interstate 88".

In Cooperson, several hundred local citizens have organized a sit in on a local city avenue, calling for eviction of occupational forces and the full return of democracy and independence.

In surrounding towns of Highway 301, citizens participate in a silent march on the 301 to mirror and honor the standoff of last Saturday. The organizer of the event, Jerville city councillor Ophelia Gwen, said that the march will be the first of many to come in the area.

A even more dramatic protest is taking place in Hol Sen, the district's second largest city. Over one hundred thousand citizens take to the streets to protest against the occupation and calling out for the release of the fifteen Highway Patrol officers captured by Validean soldiers during the standoff.

Oversea, civil and human rights activists are calling out similar demands, noting the suppression of civil protest and free press used by occupational forces.

"Silva!"
"Who's this?"
"Your mother! We want that camera!"
"Sir! Will do, do you want the cameraman and the reporter too?"
"No, just the film in the camera, give it to us intact!"
"Will do sir, you two follow me, we're getting that camera."
"Isn't that against regulation? We shouldn't do anything to the Press..."
"We aren't going to do anything to the Press, I just need the film, run there and don't let those crasy motorists get you."
The 3 ran to the middle of the Highway and tried to avoid the mob. Several Dysanii from the mob saw them and threw some rocks trying to reach them, alerting others for the movement.
"Do you see Silva running there? Get that jeep and try to disperse the mob near him."
"On my way sir!"
Silva finally reached the Press staff, that started to run away again.
"Get here you bloody Dysanii, I need to look at your Camera!"
"Sir, some guys from the mob are following us."
"No matter, I need that film, grab that guy please."
The soldier rushed to the Cameraman that was trying to film the delfian soldiers aproaching him, avoided the camera and grabbed him. It was obvious the Cameraman wasn't used to a soldier grabbing him, when pulled back the man almost flied, the soldier helped him to stand.
"My Squadleader wants to have a word with you."
"Let me go!"
"Hey, remember me? Can I see that Camera?"
"What are you doing?"
"Ooops, your tape fell off. Let me help you."
Silva closed the Camera slot and made a signal to the soldier to release the Cameraman.
"You're free to go."
"Sir, how are we going back?"
The mob was comin in aid of the Cameraman when a jeep on the opposite layer of Highway-7 rushed to Silva.
"Hop in, quick."
The 3 hoped to the jeep that fled the scene in full gas. Quickly reached the recently arrived APC with the Delfian Command Officer.
"Did you get that tape?"
"Here sir."
"Fantastic job, well done. Get your squad together, we have the cops we need, and this riot is becoming too dangerous for your patrol, get back to the Command Center immediatly! We'll aid the Valideen on this Checkpoint. Give the tape to officer Maria Morais. She will know what to do with it. Farewell."

Deputy Governor-Militant Montcalm stood in front of the camera. "A long, hard and tiring war has resulted in much death and pain by both sides. My country made sure we didn't take revenge for what happened in the concentration camps to Canadian civilians. Now as we are all working for peaceful means to see whether or not the people what to become a self-governing nation, or whether they want to remain in Dysanii. While the referudum where you the people of the Isle will decide what you want, a militant group using the justification of independence, is gearing to fight a war over this island. Now, the Canadian Army will not allow the fragile peace that has happened to be shattered. The army is now moving to engage these people and will soon bring them to justice. Now we understand that many people do not agree with the occupation, but we are trying to find a peaceful way to end it, but this group wants to make it hard. Well, we will defend the interests of the people by stoping these terrorists before they do something that will hurt not only Canadians but also you, the people. That is all." The red light turned off and Montcalm turned to talk to a group of men in uniform.

"Is the blockade ready?" asked the Deputy Governor-Militant.

A naval officer answered for him. "Yes sir. The Coast Guard and Great Lake Fleet currently has encircled the enire island, and the Air Force is constantly on patrol. AWACs are up and looking for anything suspicious. They are trying to locate National Army cells. We will not let anyone leave or enter."

"Good, what about the soldiers?"

General Richards spoke next. "Sir, we have the Army now moving in and arresting anyone that our reports from the Enforcers has told us who members of the National Army were. The National Army is still however spread out and the Canadian Army will need to track the rest down. But the Enforcers have already started to inflitarte the group and we should know who leads it here on the island soon. The terrorists will not be able to stand up to our army. The army is now taking up the positions of hunting down the National Army, but also trying to protect the people from terror attacks."

Montcalm nodded. "Send word to the General Staff, tell them we will need some more soldiers then, so we can just overwhelm the Nationalists. Now don't shoot them, arrest them. If they resist, then well...you know the deal.

Konstantinos could not rule out the possibility that the insurgents fomenting the riots that have resulted in numerous coalition injuries were coming across the border from Aemilius. There were a few holes along the border of occupied Valhene and Aemilius, after all. The initial Collosean forces were sent in to occupy one of those holes: Lawrence, a small border town, and the surrounding territory.

It is the second day of the Lawrence occupation, nearly all of the checkpoints have been established and the daily patrols are beginning to get underway. Squad Apsos, containing 10 soldiers including Minoa and Trikoupis and led by Tagmatarchis Cacoyannis L, were on a foot patrol in the town center.

They were walking in formation when a siren was heard. They just assumed it was an ambulance. But it wasn't long after that a message came over Cacoyannis's radio. "This is Squad Evelpidon, insurgents found at the intersection of 19th and 20th streets, just west of the town hall. Requesting support."

Cacoyannis pulled out his map. "Alright, where are we?"

Minoa came to Cacoyannis's side. "We're on 10th street sir. You see that building over there? The one with the spire on top? That's has to be the town hall, sir."

They could here an inaudible voice over a bullhorn coming from the other side. "It's them, let's go."

When they arrived, there were five insurgents roughly halfway down between two intersections, posing as police officers as before. A small crowd of protestors had gathered around them.  "I repeat: the Aurorean Coalition forces are the sole enforcers of Dysanii law in Valhene. Firearms belonging to those outside the Coalition forces are contraband, and will be confiscated. Those found in posession of firearms and who refuse to turn them over will be arrested and treated as war criminals. If then the rest of you refuse to disband, you will all be arrested on charges of disturbing the peace!" Antisyntagmatarchis Zaleucus said over the bullhorn.

There were numerous curses and insults towards the Collosean soldiers. One of the "police officers" had his own bullhorn, and a pistol at his side, and said, "The Valhene POLICE are the sole law enforcers in VALHENE. We order you to disarm immediately!"

Zaleucus turned to another officer. "Hey, are the snipers in position?"

"Yes they are, right where you ordered." he answered. Zaleucus had snipers get in position on roof tops and were given orders to fire at any camera they saw and at any person brandishing a gun at the Collosean soldiers.

"Alright men, put on your gas masks and get out the tear gas canisters." Zaleucus ordered. Again, he turned to the crowd. "This is your last warning. Turn over your weapons and disberse!" Nobody made any move to do so. "So be it!"

The order to launch the tear gas was given. The Collosean soldiers proceeded forward with orders to arrest all of the criminals, confiscate all cameras and weapons, to shoot in the leg those any who may escape, and shoot to kill those that try to resist with firearms. Some of the protestors attempted to fight the soldiers when they were being arrested, resulting in a few injuries but no deaths to soldiers or protestors.

The "police officers" did not use their weapons, but instead attempted to flee by going through some of the buildings during the confusion. The snipers had been watching them, and shot three in the leg to immobilize them; the other two managed to escape. One of the three arrested insurgents would later die from blood loss in an infirmary.

After two weeks of continual peaceful protest by citizens in various Valhene cities and towns, the last municipalities of the district voted onto the Free Valhene League. The stage was set for the referendum.

In their last show of defiance towards the invaders, twenty thousand private volunteers of Hol Sen disposed of their firearms in local smelters. The event was organized by the FRM, who were tired of being label by the occupational forces as a armed resistance group. The event was broadcasted live on television. A spokeman made it clear his message.

"I want to let these invaders know, that Valhene will not be coerce by show of force. We will resist, not with arms, but with the willpower of democracy and the spirit of the Republic. These Valies and Dellies know the fear of our voices and liberty. They know that we are not scare of them, and we do not need to pick up a gun to resist them. I want these foreigners out of my country, even if they threaten me with imprisonment, torture, or death! I support a independent Valhene. My friends support a independent Valhene. And I'm sure hell a lot of other people here do too! God bless the Republic!"

On the rainy morning of Thursday, the ballots were open in the municipalities of the Free Valhene League. Disguised as a innocent vote for "Valhene's Man of the Year Award", the elections for Valhene's first president started off. While expecting the party to be crashed by occupational forces, there were fewer incidents then expected. Coincidentally, insurgents in the countryside were distracting the majority of occupational troops. While other town found it harder to put in the ballot openly, some places even exploding into violence as the enemy attempted to disrupt the elections, five million Valheners made their way to the voting houses.

The ballots were counted by over five thousand community volunteers secretly in their basements and cottage houses. Two days after the closing of the ballots, the results came through.

Mandel Nelsin, former city councillor of Hol Sen, was now the newly elected President of the Valhene Republic.

-------------------------------------------------------------------

A black sedan car stopped near the headquarters of a Validean occupation regiment. A man in a long trenchcoat, with a scarf and head hiding his face stepped out. He turns and spoke to the driver through the window.

"I guess this is our goodbye, my good friend."

"Are you sure about this Louis? You still got a wife at home..."

"I'm certain. There's not much I can do if these guys continue to label me as a bad man. I will go along with their charades, even if it means spending the rest of my life in their jail. They think I'm the source of all their problems, well, let's see if they were right."

"You're a crazy son a bitch..."

"And you been a great friend."

"...I will take care of your family."

"Thank you Leo. Good bye."

"Good bye...my General."

"Don't call me that, I resigned long time ago. I am just Louis Vassa now."

"No...not just Louis Vassa. You are ...a hero. I will remember you, and I will make sure others will too."

"I must go now...Amesh."

"Amesh."

http://www.swfupload.com/files/40565goodbyevassa.swf

Leo watched his friend of thirty years walked away towards the doors of the old post office several blocks away. Without knowing, his tears began to fall out from his eyes. Clutching his steering wheel tightly, he drove off slowly, his eyes still onto Louis at the last moment.

Louis came up to the doors of the post office, where five soldiers were casually smoking. They looked at Louis dumbly as he approaches. Louis stopped a few yards from them and pulled off his scarf and carefully removed his hat.

"Well, here I am."

The two captured insurgents were in the middle of interrogation. Vasilakis had just arrived back at HQ when the interrogation of the prisoners concluded. "He's in his own little world in there. Won't respond to anything I ask him," Pharmakis, the interrogator, told Vasilakis as he finished with the second prisoner.

"So why did you ask me to come down?" he asked.

"Because of these." Pharmakis handed a ribbon and a medal to Vasilakis. "They're Dysanii military decorations. We found them on one of the prisoners. Also, the pistols both of them carried appear to be the same that was issued to Dysanii soldiers, the serials were filed off though. Both of these guys appeared to have been in the Dysanii military."

"So?"

"SO you'll want to send this in to our embassy in Aemilius to have them ask their officials to id them." Pharmakis gave Vasilakis an SD card. "On there are their mugshots and photos of the awards and pistols."

Vasilakis put the items in his pocket. "I'll make sure they get where they need to go. Have you managed to find anything else out?"

"No, they won't speak to me."

"I see. Well thanks for the intel you managed to get me."

A Valideen Convoy of light armored and soft skinned vehicle was driving through a forested road to resupply a FOB when the front vehicle was lifted into the air by a massive explosion. Soon both sides of the road erupted in machine gun, small arms, and RPG fire. It wasnt long untill the entire convoy, with the exception of one LAV-III were destroyed.

**Regional Military Headquarters**

"What the hell?" said one of the soldiers at the checkpoint, 100 meters away from the HQ. A black sedan was moving towards their location. The soldier at the checkpoint raised his hand, while the other four raised their weapons. This was a precaution in this area due to a recent series of attacks launched by Dysanii Insurgents. The vehicle slowed to a stop. A man got out, he looked like the old General. "What the hell?" said the same soldier, again.

"GET ON THE GROUND!" yelled Master Corporal Pendergast. As he and two of his men cautiously walked up to the man now lying face down on the ground.

OOC: I edited the story because they wont let anyone just walk up to the HQ.

"So, this man is a member of the National Army?" asked the soldier. He stared at the picture that the Enforcer had given him. The Enforcers had been working hard to undermine the National Army on the Isle either by investigation or by entering the organization itself.

The Enforcer nodded. "Yes, he has been hosting meetings and there are weapons hidden under his shrine."

"What kind of weapons?"

"Assault rifles, RPGs, mostly standard weapons used by the Dysaniian Army."

The soldiers nodded and left. They marched into the neighborhood of the man they were looking for. He was currently hosting a meeting and the soldiers needed to arrest him before the National Army did something that put Canadians and to a lesser extent, civilians in danger. The soldiers rounded around the house so no one would run and get away. The lieutenant knocked on the door and he continued to knockfor a few more seconds. Then he nodded, and a segeant kicked the door in. With weapons at the ready, they moved around the house and found the man in his basement with a large group of other men and women. The soldiers marched into the basement and pointed their weapons at them. "By order of the Deputy Governor-Militant of the Occupational Government of Acadia, you all are under arrest for having organized into a group larger then three, and for the possesion of weapons."

The man stepped forward in anger. "This is ridiculas. There are no weapons here?" But just as he finished, a Canadian soldier came down with a Dysaniian assault rifle. The lieutenant turned to the man. "So where did this come from? It just walked into your house. Arrest all of them."

The rebels were handcuffed and lead to armored trucks and they were thrown into the back. The soldiers got in the back of another one and they drove off to the military base where the Enofrcers would interrogate the rebels.

The Loyanese and Terranger observers were in North Acadia, South Acadia, and on the Isle making sure the referudum wasn't going to become a death trap. Over the next past nights, the people were anxiously and worriedly got ready to vote. The votes were publicly held in schools, universities, community centers and city halls all over. Governor-Militant Currie waited for the results. He couldn't be more worried in his life. The Acadians had shown that they were ready for responsible government. "Well lets see if they chose right." The results would come to him first, so he would know what the votes were.

Quote
Referendum for the Independence of North Acadia, South Acadia, and the Munster Isle

1. Remain part of the Dysaniian Republic: 14%
2. Become an independent republic: 30%
3. Join the supernational Canadian Federation as an independent kingdom: 56%

Meneldur shut the door of the conference room. He'd just come back from a walk through the gardens, and the gentle snow shower had turned into a windy mess. Ah well. Such was Myrorian autumns. It was only bound to get worse. He threw his burgundy fur coat on the floor, straightened his hair, and walked on stage to the sound of discussing Myrorians and camera bulb flashes. The crowd quieted as Meneldur's manservant spoke from the podium.

"Ladies and Gentlemen of the Myrorian monarchy, introducing, His Majesty, Empeurer Meneldur Tar-Ilium I!" there he came, from behind the maroon curtains on stage left. The applause quieted without so much as a hand signal. Every man and woman learned the etiquette from their parents or from their fifth grade teacher. It was like the Talk, but with less diagrams.

"Thank you, Patrick."

"Ladies and gentlemen here today, I have come to talk to you about a crisis developing quickly on the American Continent. The Valideen, and, not to mention their Delfian lapdogs, have become increasingly violent toward protestors in the Valhene region - uh, excuse me, the Republic of Valhene. I've always had trouble with new nations, and it seems the Gods of Independence have decided to spite me." he continued with a laugh, but became serious almost immediately.

"Unfortunately, what has happened is no laughing matter. Perhaps the media censors things, what for decency and all, but when you see it all, live, on your personal newsfeed, it becomes all the more real. The Valideen and Delfians throw tear gas bombs at protestors. They fire into the air. Injuries about, and perhaps even fatalities, for one simple reason:

Power.

Well, perhaps two. Power and racism. The governments act on the flawed assumption that 'All Dysanii Are Violent' or that 'All Dysanii Are Bitter', and seem to consider them...sub-human. If the Myrorian government breaks up a protest by force - which is rare, it seems every nation and peoples on the globe consider us fascists. Hmph. And yet, the Delfian and Valideen crisis goes ignored by most people, the IPO refuses to recognize such a republic, and those within that dare speak up are ridiculed.

But Myroria will stand for the Valhene people. The Dysanii people.

Perhaps Pax Imperium nations disagree with me. Perhaps I will be ridiculed at our next conference. But, I will easily take my own ridicule over that of those fighting for decency and righteousness! I will not back down to the Valheen and Delfians as so many have done! Today, ladies and gentlemen, the Republic of Valhene is officially seen as existant by the Myrorian government, and we will offer amnesty to any charges brought upon the Valhene leaders by the apparently civilized Delfians. Good day." Such an abrupt ending. Such an abrupt speech.

A couple days passed since the arrests. A manhunt was underway for the two escapees.

"Why don't we just search the damn houses?" asked Pyrros of Squad Evelpidon.

"Isn't it obvious?" replied Zaleucus. "We're supposed to try and stay on the good side of the people here."

Evelpidon was on another foot patrol, walking beside a busy street. Every now and then, they would stop to show photos of the two escapees taken during the protest and ask some pedestrians if they had seen them since then. The answer was always no.

Zaleucus stopped in front of a small shop to to question a middle aged lady. "Hey ma'am? Have you seen these two recently?" She simply took a quick glance, shook her head, and walked away.

"We're not going to get anywhere this way, Zal." Pyrros said.

Zaleucus didn't have a chance to say anything to him when several car horns went off behind them. A car had turned into oncoming traffic, and was meandering their way. Zaleucus quickly got on his radio and sent out a broadcast. "This is Antisyntagmatarchis Zaleucus of Squad Evelpidon. We have a vehicle driving in the wrong lane towards oncoming traffic, please dispatch some -- dammit! Shots fired, soldier down close to the 15th 16th street intersection, over!" When Zaleucus got out his radio, the driver stopped meandering and took off at full speed when the drivers in front of him had cleared a lane to get out of the way. As he drove by, someone in the car took shots at the soldiers, hitting one in the soldiers in the abdomen.

"There has been a drive-by shooting, the assailant is heading your way. Force him to stop, then arrest any persons in the car, over." Vasilakis said to Cacoyannis at checkpoint X, sitting on the road leaving Lawrence.

"Roger."

Apsos's patrol had taken them to checkpoint X, where the assailant(s) were now racing towards. "Is that spike strip down yet?"

"Yes sir, it is." Answered Trikoupis as he proceeded to get back behind the sandbags on the sidewalk.

"Remember, we want him alive, so aim at a anything but the occupants of the vehicle. If after it is disabled, and they fire upon us, use non-lethal force. Aim for the legs or arms." Cacoyannis said.

Mere moments later, a car rounded a corner and began racing towards them. It hit the spikes and there were four lowd "pops" as he went across. The car continued swerving passed the checkpoint, and spun and crashed into a utility pole. With weapons raised, the soldiers quickly descended upon the vehicle, in which they could see two men.

"Get out of the vehicle slowly and drop your weapons!" Cacoyannis ordered of the two men. To his surprise they did just that: They got out slowly, and each dropped a pistol on the ground. Then he realized that the two men looked familiar...

"What the fuck?" Minoa pulled out his copy of the photo taken of the two escapees. "Sir, it's them! The insurgents!"

A Valideen Medivac Helicopter was flying over the location when they got the call that there was an allied soldier shot near Checkpoint Xray.

"Tophat, tell them to clear a location in the park niner zero meters from their present location. It is the only place to land, over."

"Homebase, roger, out." . . . "Charlie Papa Xray this is Homebase, Medivac in route, clear a location at Memphes Park, over."

Evelpidon had carried the injured soldier to the park where they were told. "Clear out all of our vehicles and equipment from the park, the medivac has no other place to land!" Zaleucus said to the men manning a supply dump/outpost there. They were quick about it and had the area cleared in a flash.

"Sir!" a medic called out to Zaleucus. "I think he's suffering from significant internal bleeding, sir. I don't think he'll make it!"

The Griffon came in low, and fast. Flying over the buildings towards the park. As it approached the Pilot could see the frantic movement of troops on the ground. Soon as he thought he had a space big enough to land to brought it in. The griffon hit the ground harder then normal.

Two Medtech jumped out of the back. "How is he," one of them said as he ran over to the soldier being ran over by stretcher.

"Hes bad," said the Medic caring for him.

"We will take it from here," they put the stretcher into the choppers locks and then shut the door.

With the banging on the side the Helicopter's engine begain to turn up the RPMs and soon it was airborne, heading to the AC military hospital in Camp McCartney.

Opening speech at Liberty Square, Hol Sen:

"Before I say anything else, I must extend my most humble gratitude and thanks to the people of International Peace, for their effort and persistence in making this moment possible. God knows, without them, this little fairy tale would had turn into something else. We must honor and give our respects for these individuals, who have safeguarded our elections and protect our citizens on their walk to the ballot house. God bless them.

But now, the road up ahead is up to us to forge. Valhene has enter it's nationhood at a turbulent point, and we must remain on guard and remain strong in earning our right to exist as a nation. This Republic has come into existence through the bravery and toil of countless patriots who saw this day come. And as we continue in our existence, we as citizens must continue to brave and toil against those that oppose our democracy and liberty.

While others see Independence as a right, I see it as a responsibility. Independence means we will be held accountable for our actions as a people and nation. Independence means being able to decide for ourselves, the course of our lives and destiny. Independence means standing up to what we believe in, no matter what the consequences and backlashes are. The world will be watching our actions, we must not fail to impress them!

Therefore, my first act as president of the Valhene Republic is to reinstate the judicial branch of our government. All state-level and municipal law enforcement and court services will be bought back into action, according to the pre-existing federal and state laws. People will need their safety be assure and crime must be dealt with. We must also deal with misdirected citizens who have stained the Republic's progress with their use of violence against the occupational forces of Validus and Delfos. I sincerely object to their methods of gain political means, and will put forth a task force in capturing and rehabilitating these insurgents. We must work with both IPO and occupational forces in erasing violence from Valhene. Peace is our main issue, let not another war threaten our free and independent democracy! For Freedom! For Liberty! For Peace!"

Moment of Silence, for those that had died for our Liberty and Freedom

"Man, these guys must be fucking retards to just up and give a speech like that in the open, with soldiers crawling all around." said Spheeris.

The "Valheen President" had managed to assemble a crowd of only 100 people or so. The Collosean special forces that Konstantinos had requested had arrived a few days ago, and had been tracking certain members of the insurgency. The special forces, under Spheeris's control, had surrounded Liberty Square and thus Mandel Nelsin.

They were in the middle of a moment of silence. A sniper had his sights set on Mandel Nelsin and his finger on the trigger...

Lieutenant Jiang Fong fired off a shot from his M90 just in time. He watched as the head of the unknown soldier burst open in red.

"We got snipers up on building AA, someone's trying to take out the president! Get him off the stage, now!"

All IPO personnel on full alert! Someone is targeting the Mandel! Loyanese counter-snipers be on guard! Terran proximity guards are to get the president...

The rehearsal was soundly disrupted, Terran IPO guards quickly grabbed the president and took him behind the curtains and into a waiting Loyanese APC.

"This is Jiang, I'm going to recover the body, cover my fucking frozen ass."

"Roger."

I remember that post, but I thought it was from Acadia as part of the referendum?

*Searches the forum to checkso brb but will probably ignore cannon that as well since no vote for IPO involvement has yet to take place and we have not agreed to an independent Valhene state*

Edit: Ok, here's the deal. It did not clearly state it was in Valhene, but because of the fact that it's in this topic I think it's kinda obvious where it took place, I just forgot where I had read it though  :P (I thought I had read it in the border war topic, placing the election in Acadia).

However, I have some problems with that.

When were these soldiers deployed?

Terrengar's referendum is what he's been talking about over in the IPO. The administrator does not have the power to simply do as he wishes, as you yourself should know, Loyan.

But let's say that this has nothing to do with the IPO and he just wished to come in, help set up the gov't, etc on his own accord. We wouldn't have let that happen, or at least I wouldn't just let you walk in here like that without having a piece of my mind.

Statement by the Myrorian Government,

The Myrorian Government sympathises with the Valhene plight. It's astonishing how a nation can be so quick to preach about free speech and democracy only to oppress it when it is against their best interest. Alas, this is just another sign that the IPO isn't really about peace, and that Delfos isn't as civilized as they insist they are.

"General, the leader of 'Valhene' was just assasignated." said, Lt. Col. Hal Zimmerman.

"Hmm," said the General, "This is not good." The General stood up and looked out his window. "Colonel find out who did this, and why. Seems to me the insurgents are really getting brawny if it was them."

"Well sir, for all we know it could of been an inside job. We know that they hate us. We did invade them."

"well Colonel, that was in a state of war when they invaded Canada. Luckely everything we have done so far is with in the LAC."

"Sir, it could of been agents of Myroria. With their stance on our occupation and their new found racist attitude towards Validus. They would have alot to gain."

"Lets leave speculation to a minimum untill we find out who did this, eh Colonel?"

"Yes sir," Said Zimmerman, right before he turned around and walked out.

The General was still looking out his window, and muttered. "This is going to be a rough couple of weeks."

"Arrest that man!"
Delfian soldiers caught Alex Kane in the streets and brought him to Commander Center.
"Here's the guy."
"Well done, announce the arrest to the Valhene police forces."

Governor-Militant Currie enjoyed New Beaconsfield on Sable Island. The city was built on an island right in front of the strait the separated the eastern and western halves of the Great Lake. Currie was now making sure the city was ready to become an impregnable bastion that will defend the strait from any threat. It's natural harbor was perfect to keep the newly strengthened Great Lake Fleet. Workers were building the holdings for disappearing guns which showed their worth in defending the Ontarian coast, as well as missile systems. A large military airfield was already built and was currently filled with enough aircraft to defend the island. The Great Lake battleships were patroling the starit with their escorts. Currie liked the progress. Ever since he got word that the Isle was going to be given to Free State of Aemilia in exchange for a trade alliance and a non-aggresion pact, the Governor-Militant was preparing New Beaconsfield to become what reporters and the inhabitants are calling the Bastion of the Empire. Currie watched the progress. They would be ready in a few weeks.

A burnt DVD was sent into a local television station. On it were the words 'Semper fidelis' meaning, always faithful. The producer of the nightly news put it into the player and turned it on.

"Attention, I am Colonel Guy Fawks Leader of the Dysanii Resistance here in the northern territories. I have words to say to all those traitors in Valhene, we know they are not the people. They are the rich, the powerful. The 'Government' of Valhene was set up illegally and is against Dysanii law. That dosnt mean we support the occupation, we are fighting them as well, infact this past week we have successfully ambushed a dozen military convoys. We will fight against anyone who wishes to break up Dysanii, by they our brothers or foreign conquerors. I was on the beaches the day the Valideens came ashore, and believe me you when the order came down to surrender, well lets just say The number of troops who walked towards the 'victors' with their hands up did not equal the numbers in the shadows. We are Dysanii! VICTORY OR DEATH!"

The video ended. The producer had a smile on his face and then decided to play it on the evening news that night.
